I visited on a monday evening with my friend. we had an amazing time, the place is beautiful, the food and the drinks were amazing.

Was greeted by Eddie very friendly service. The food was delicious I had the Seabass and omg was probably the best I ever had. They also have a very nice wine selection, thank you. Will be back!

This was the first time we decided to try out deroka with my husband since we moved to Milton Keynes couple months ago. I decided to go for the salmon and I really really enjoyed it we also had starters to share which was also very good. We usually go to Turkish restaurants in London as we used to live there but my husband had the mixed grill and said it was the best meat he has ever had in a Turkish restaurant. I must also say the cocktails were superb you can tell they are made with passion as the bartenders looked very professional and experienced. Moving on to the service the manager was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed he has a good sense of humour. The waiters were also very attentive and checked on us. We had a fantastic night and will definitely be back on our next date night. Thank you deroka team!

I had an incredible brunch experience at DeRoka’s! The ambiance was inviting, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken shish was a standout! I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. Will definitely be back!

This was our second time visiting but will not be returning for the forceable future Let down by terrible service and starters. We were sat upstairs on the balcony thinking it would be amazing seating and atmosphere. Little did we know we would be ignored by the staff, we were ignored and served after another party who had arrived after us which was very disrespectful as the staff just walked past us… We waited atleast 20-30 minutes before our drinks order was taken. We ordered the calamari starter which is £10 and it only came with 5 pieces of calamari which is ludicrous for the price and it was not crispy but soggy and the salad had wilted. Alongside this the complimentary bread was served with the starters. Our mains were delicious but we were let down by the terrible service and ridiculous starter.

I had a lovely experience here! I came for the bottomless brunch and I was well looked after, my glass was constantly being refilled and the food had so much flavour! I cannot wait to come back to Milton Keynes and return here. My waiter, Yousef was exceptional and I wish them all the best in life

Everything was amazing, food was tasty , services were as fast as they could as there was a busy day, the atmosphere was also enjoyable and I’ve had a really good time with my husband. We’ve fallen in love again😍❤️❤️❤️

We did bottomless brunch for my daughters birthday. There was 20 of us. The food was amazing, and the service was also amazing! The drinks were flowing, the waiters did such a good job! The atmosphere was brilliant, and we were quite roudy, and the staff had a good laugh with us. Brilliant time had by all! Will defo go here again!

While the food was undeniably good, the overall experience was marred by the conduct of the head waiter. I visited the restaurant with my wife and her best friend, who had traveled from abroad. Although we received our drinks and food promptly and were enjoying our time, the head waiter abruptly interrupted us, implying that we needed to vacate the table due to the increasing busyness of the restaurant. He mentioned that there were time limits on how long we could occupy the table. This unprofessional behavior significantly dampened our evening, especially when we had intended to order dessert. Regrettably, this experience has ensured that I will not be returning to this establishment.

Booked a table for 2 ( put on the booking it was my birthday) but that wasn't acknowledged when we arrived cause the guy at the front didn't even look up my booking he just sat us down at a table for 2. Mind you I spent my birthday here last year 2024 and same thing happened but Tahil who previously worked there was brilliant in 2024 once he discovered it was my birthday he offered me and my friend free desserts but we we're too stuffed. 8th February 2025 we sat down waited and no one came to our table I was so close to getting up to go to The Oligarch which is across until I waved to a female waitress who reluctantly came over. The evening would have gotten seriously bad thank God I was alert. I ordered Apple juice and it arrived and did not look like Apple Juice so I did not try it so I called the waitress over minutes later only to be told it was pineapple juice. I have a dangerous allergic reaction to Pineapples if I accidently had consumed that the ambulance would have been called to the restaurant as my throat would have closed up. Imagine such nonsense happening on you're birthday. To add cheek on to it the final bill came with the pineapple juice added on. I had to tell a different waiter who was a male waiter to remove it off the bill. My birthday was nearly ruined by a very silly mistake by the waitress that could have been very costly for me. I will be avoiding this place for future birthdays moving forward.

Really disappointed in this restaurant , we chose this restaurant because of the gluten free options available on a few starters and appetisers , this was actually wrong and no gluten free options were available on those items . No gluten free bread either . The salmon was over cooked and very dry , salad was nearly all roughly chopped , very roughly chopped,tomatoes and no mayonnaise in the building apparently . Mojitos were basically rum and lemonade. I would not recommend .

I would not recommend going to this restaurant if you are expecting great service. I went tonight for my friend’s birthday meal, and let’s just say we did not enjoy it one bit. On arrival our table was 15 minutes late/delayed. We were given the wrong drinks and were left waiting ages for anyone to serve us. Our starters were not served for over an hour. The waiter was unbelievably rude, after we complained about the poor service, the waiter (with his manager present) told us that he was using his ‘tactics’ by ignoring us?! We were utterly shocked with the lack of professionalism & the waiter walked off along with the manager. We were given the wrong drinks, a main meal that came out when it shouldn’t have, this then happened AGAIN. My friends rice did not come out with her food without prompting. Our main meals should have came with some mixed peppers, we only got 1 pepper each. In recent visits, the presentation and portions have been a lot better, this time it just looked like everything had been thrown on the plate. Manager expressed that he will ensure our meal is better from our mains onwards, for it to only go downhill even more. The manager kept trying to act all friendly with us, saying things like ‘look it’s not all about the service, it’s about being here with your friends’?! Absolutely not, we’re paying for a service, stop trying to divert the issue. Another waiter took our payment, he seemed very pleasant and even he said that he saw we were being ignored by our waiter & how bad service we were receiving!! Overall our experience was beyond shocking, From working in the hospitality industry myself, I have never been to a restaurant with service so poor.

I never write reviews or make complaints, as it’s just not my thing to do. But on this occasion, I feel like I need to express what a bad experience I had today. We had a booking at 7:30, our table was not ready. 15 minutes later, we got sat at the far end of the ‘bar’ area for our meal. I will list all of the complaints I have throughout - -It was absolutely freezing in there, no heating and the doors left wide open. -The complimentary bread was not served until our starters (late) -we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes roughly for our starters to even be served. -we asked for gluten free bread, no one came back to us. -we were served a main meal with our starters, of which this was not requested. -we got given the wrong drinks. -the rice dish for my friends meal did not arrive until prompted. -the waiter spilled the drink over my friend’s jacket and didn't bother apologising or helping to clear it up. -We got ignored 4 times by our waiter after we had made a general complaint to the manager of the ‘overall service’. Of which the waiter then comes over to say it was his ‘tactics’ - to ignore us?! At this point I was absolutely shocked. With that, the manager walks off and doesn’t even come back. I have never, ever had such bad service in a restaurant. I will never be going back to this restaurant, they have gone down hill massively. I am some what pleased to read I am not the only one who has had this bad experience - as at least it wasn’t just me!!! Please, please think twice before going to Deroka. I would not recommend unless it’s a weekday when they are not busy!!!!

We went for my daughter’s birthday the service was fantastic they gave us free drinks and rose's and the food was spectacular, best turkish we have had in MK.

Everything was perfect! It was a great pleasure for us to find the same taste of Turkish food in England. Mr. Burç, one of the waiters, took great care of us. Thanks to the whole team✨

This place is amazing , food and cocktails are delicious. Our server burc was lovely, 10/10 service. Will definitely be back.

Visited here last Saturday evening and we couldn’t wait to leave. Apparently, the heating in the restaurant had stopped working, which we were not pre-warned of upon booking or being seated, and only found out once we inquired as to why it was so cold. We were seated in the section by the doors (which were open all evening I should add), and every table around us, including our own just looked absolutely miserable. Multiple tables of people were sat eating their food in puffer jackets freezing cold! Made the whole experience incredibly uncomfortable and we were just trying to eat out food and leave as soon as possible. You would think they would offer some sort of compensated drinks or desserts for this, but they offered nothing. I can imagine you lost a lot of returning custom this evening. As for the food, it was overall pretty decent. While the calamari was yummy, you only got 4 rings which looked actually laughable on the plate. The sausage starter was solid. I had the salmon salad as a main and thought it was delicious. My partner had the kebab and was disappointed. The baklava dessert was absolutely terrible and honestly an offence to such a usually delicious dish. Lacking in taste but more importantly was hard, dry and stale. Basically, the dishes that weren’t Turkish were good.

However, during the bottomless brunch, there was some unexpected confusion about drink limits, which slightly dampened the mood. Despite this, the atmosphere and quality of the food made the occasion special. It’s a place that knows how to create a beautiful dining experience, but clearer communication on policies would make it perfect.

I am compelled to bring to your attention a deeply disheartening experience I had at your establishment, where I have been a dedicated client for the past three years. On the 19th of January, I chose to celebrate my birthday at your restaurant—a decision I now regret profoundly. Despite making an online reservation, which was confirmed by phone, our table was not ready upon arrival, and we were asked to wait for five minutes. This initial inconvenience, however, paled in comparison to the subsequent ordeal we endured. Our waiter, Ozar (as he identified himself), exhibited an appallingly rude and discriminatory attitude from the outset. Throughout our dinner, he neglected our orders, forcing us to repeatedly inquire about the status of our drinks and food. His demeanor was not only unprofessional but also utterly demeaning, making us feel unwelcome and marginalized. The situation escalated alarmingly toward the end of our meal when Ozar's aggressive behavior left us fearing a physical confrontation. My polite request for service was met with hostility so intense that it overshadowed the entire evening, turning a joyous celebration into a distressing and unforgettable disaster. This experience has left an indelible mark on what should have been a memorable occasion. I am profoundly disappointed and saddened that your restaurant, where I once found joy and comfort, allowed such unprofessionalism to mar my special day. I urge you to address this matter with the utmost seriousness. The conduct of your staff reflects directly on your establishment's reputation. Ensuring that all employees embody the standards of respect and professionalism is paramount. Thank you for your attention to this grave issue. I trust you will take the necessary actions to prevent such incidents in the future.

Celebrated my 50th here. Food was amazing, atmosphere again couldn't fault it. Service was amazing, staff was helpful and served in a timely manner. Cocktails were out of this world too. Fab evening thank you

Lovely food, great staff and fast service! The atmosphere is very relaxed. A shame I did not make any pictures of the food, but it was delicious! If you love turkish cuisine, deffo pay them a visit. We served a mixed hot meze for two and as main I had a seafood stew and my partner salmon. We had no space for desserts as the portions were quite big. Will come again with pleasure!

This is the most pleasant place we have dined since we moved from London to MiltonKeynes. It's beautiful atmosphere the staff are ready to make us feel a home. Yousif was brilliant at his service. I definitely recommend to everyone. My boy enjoyed every bit of his birthday dinner. He is usually very picky but could not resist a great meal at this restaurant

Booked a table for my partners birthday on new years eve, they never provided us with Menus/drinks menu when seated. When they came to take our drink order my partner said can we have a drinks menu to order. They then informed us they need the table back for 7pm and we only get a 1.5hour slot for food but they hadn't even taken our order. Once we had eaten they just took our food away even when people were not finished eating the platter from the middle without asking if it was finished with. My partner spoke to someone who seemed to be a manager and he then said the waiter had asked when he didnt the waiter even apologised when my partner told him it's common courtesy to ask if it's finished with before taking it away. Overpriced and not great service at all

We have just had the most amazing meal. Service was great, staff pleasant, friendly and attentive. Food was outstanding. We had the sharing platter and it was the tastiest meal. Would defo recommend!

Upon arrival the server was very rude, through and through. When a person on my table asked about the allergens in the dish of her sister to see whether she could taste her food, the server said to her “Everyone is in the middle of eating why would you ask now? “ and never addressed her questions further. This individual has very serious allergies that cause anaphylaxis, so hearing this was extremely concerning. After asking for the bill, when I went to pay, I was not made aware of the service charge, it was automatically added, which I asked to be taken off as the service was not good. The person taking payment then proceeded to ask why, which felt really alienating. I said it was due to the fact we felt rushed from the outset, which I do understand we were late but the actual reason was the rudeness of the staff. After this we were met with even more attitude from the man taking payments and the server. The way they treated us was extremely unfair and it felt that we were being taken advantage of as we were a relatively young table of black people. The food was good, but ultimately the experience was soured by the service.

Gone down hill, service was soooo poor when I went on 21st December 2024, the waiter that served us had very bad attitude!!

Appalled by the service in such a sort after restaurant in HuB, they hardly checked on us food was good,however for the price the portions were not proportionate, I wouldn't visit this place again.

The food was delicious, but I felt racism. I came many times and the tea cup was served by the restaurant. Tonight, when my family and I asked for it, they brought us large cups that did not look alike. When we left the restaurant, I was surprised that a Turkish group had been served small cups at the restaurant’s expense, and we paid for the tea. This is not a similar treatment, and I will not come back again.

We visited DeRoka as a group of 7 guests on Saturday 7th December 2024 at 8:45pm. We were celebrating a friends birthday and had an amazing evening. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was incredible. Our waiter was very polite and attentive (sadly we did not catch his name). He made the meal extra special by bringing a dessert for the birthday girl which was a lovely touch. We will 100% be recommending DeRoka for any celebration, and we shall certainly be back.

It is one of the most exceptional restaurants. High quality services. The setting of the restaurant is gorgeous, the food tastes divine and, surprisingly, the prices are earthly, affordable. Even without an advance reservation we had a warm and respectful welcome.

First time visiting this place. Great food, can recommend the falafel and mixed grill. Turkish coffee was delicious, and really friendly and attentive service. A personal preference but I found the background music a tad too loud for a lunchtime.

This was my second visit, and I probably won't be going back for a third. The service was poor, but the food was OK. A large party reservation arrived soon after us; fortunately, we placed our food order before they did, as we were entirely forgotten once everyone arrived. Nobody even asked if we wanted an additional drink or dessert (upselling?) or came to see if we were happy with our meal. I acknowledge that I have a different perspective on this because I used to work in the hospitality industry, but I simply don't get the idea behind table management. I've noticed employees waiting for something next to the bar (doing nothing). Is there no manager or supervisor present to assign one or two servers to handle the large reservation while the other staff members handle the other tables? We used to have no problems at all when parties of fifty to sixty people or more were booked. Just assign your servers to manage their own area - especially when you have enough people on the floor(!) -, rather than everyone focusing on one booking.

Went to this place for the 1st time last night and had booked 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived we was meet at the entrance only to be told that our table was ready but there was another booking and they would need it back 1hr 20 mins later. Although the food was lovely the staff were rushing us. The tables around were asked if they wanted extra drinks and a desert menu, we were not asked if we wanted anything. When we asked for a desert menu we was just ignored. The service is terrible and the staff and so called management are rude. If you want a good Turkish restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff then this is not the place to try Disappointed is an understatement

We 4 friends had travelled from Leicester and London to eat at this place. First impressions leave an impact. From the moment we entered the person who welcomed us, was rude. When I asked him what name he had for us, his reply was “ I don’t know, you did the booking you should know!!” Two from our group were running late so we were told we have the table for 90 minutes and would have to leave irrespective of when our friends arrived (fair enough). But the cherry on top was when we ordered our food. We asked if we could order the sharing platter for 4, they refused and said we all had to order a main each! We have never in our lives had a restaurant tell us what we HAD to order. Apparently it’s in their booking T&Cs! We left ! Would Never attempt on going there again.

It was nice; I went there with my work colleagues for Christmas dinner. It was lovely. We chose this place because my colleagues wanted to drink and I myself don't and I think this is a good place for such occasions because cocktails and mocktails and all their meat is halal. I got myself a chicken shish, which was cooked perfectly and a mocktail. For dessert, I tried their strawberry cheesecake, which again did not disappoint. Overall, the experience was nice. The environment was good it was busy when we got there.

We didn't stay for food so can't comment. But so disappointed with service and attitude of staff especially after we travelled from London and Leicester and left without eating and where taken aback on how rude and unwelcoming the staff made us feel. Think carefully f you plan to eat here. You have only 90 minutes and then kicked out.

Came here on a Saturday with my Friend after the brunch service. Food was quick & nice

The atmosphere is clean and exotic, and the staff are very friendly. The lamb dish was excellent. The meat was very tender, the sauce was delicious, and it was warm and comfortable. Highly recommended!

The food was good, but unfortunately, the experience was not. We were 9 people, and after ordering plenty of starters we tried to order mains for 6 people as we knew we wouldn´t be able to eat more, and the waitress pushed us to order more. After telling him we thought that was plenty of food he replied the food we had ordered was not enough at all, and he forced us to order more. When we finished the lunch so much food was left that we got 3 full boxes (over 2kg of food). In summary, don´t go there unless you want to be bullied by the waitress to order way too much food.

I celebrated my 33rd birthday here. Tbh Im a bit disappointed, maybe because I expected too much seeing their IG account. Not their fault though. I was hyped seeing how the ambience looked in the pictures. It was a bit bland in person. Food serving is 👍🏻 we loved the starters. Mains were 💯My 5 month old loved the pita bread! 🥰 It was his first taste of solid food. Mocktail was presented beautifully!

The 2 stars are for the food. The food was good, but the service was absolutely horrific, went here for my friends 18th bday and the service was horrible. They were dismissive and rude, and they even gave her a dirty knife for her cake that looked like it had been used on meat when we wiped it on the napkin. It was a busy Saturday night so some grace can be given but this happening barely anything can excuse that

Brilliant bottomless brunch for my daughter’s birthday. Great service and delicious food. Our waiter was lovely and kept us supplied with drinks and cocktails! Great restaurant, six of us turned up on a Friday night without booking & they managed to seat us despite being busy. The staff were amazing, very friendly & helpful. The food was delicious, I had the meat moussaka, which was delicious whilst some of my companions had the Lamb kleftiko, which they all said was lovely. Definitely would recommend & certainly will return.

We booked this restaurant for a night out and I was specifically looking for a place which could cater gluten free as I am coeliac. The choice here was amazing, I'd highly recommend the Kleftoko and they made sure I had gluten free available. We had booked for a large group, and the number changed at short notice. The staff took it all in their stride and discreetly added more tables and place settings so that the rest of the party didn't even notice, I was so grateful that they could accommodate us. This will be my restaurant of choice when I am staying in Milton Keynes, Highly recommended!

I got to a lot of turkish restaurants. I visited here on 24/08/2024. Decor is beautiful. The food was okay. My lamb was very fatty. However the service was so slow. We went in thr afternoon. It was busy but not crazy. We had to wait 40 minutes in between starters and main. They also charge a £1 extra for each extra sauce! I've never known a turkish place to charge extra for sauces with food. That made me very unhappy so definitely will not be returning. Much better options available.
