Deroka Turkish Mediterranean Restaurant in Milton Keynes

First time visiting this place. Great food, can recommend the falafel and mixed grill. Turkish coffee was delicious, and really friendly and attentive service. A personal preference but I found the background music a tad too loud for a lunchtime.

A pleasant evening in the family with a very high quality customer service. Definitely will come more often.

This was my second visit, and I probably won't be going back for a third. The service was poor, but the food was OK. A large party reservation arrived soon after us; fortunately, we placed our food order before they did, as we were entirely forgotten once everyone arrived. Nobody even asked if we wanted an additional drink or dessert (upselling?) or came to see if we were happy with our meal. I acknowledge that I have a different perspective on this because I used to work in the hospitality industry, but I simply don't get the idea behind table management. I've noticed employees waiting for something next to the bar (doing nothing). Is there no manager or supervisor present to assign one or two servers to handle the large reservation while the other staff members handle the other tables? We used to have no problems at all when parties of fifty to sixty people or more were booked. Just assign your servers to manage their own area - especially when you have enough people on the floor(!) -, rather than everyone focusing on one booking.

Went to this place for the 1st time last night and had booked 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived we was meet at the entrance only to be told that our table was ready but there was another booking and they would need it back 1hr 20 mins later. Although the food was lovely the staff were rushing us. The tables around were asked if they wanted extra drinks and a desert menu, we were not asked if we wanted anything. When we asked for a desert menu we was just ignored. The service is terrible and the staff and so called management are rude. If you want a good Turkish restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff then this is not the place to try Disappointed is an understatement

We 4 friends had travelled from Leicester and London to eat at this place. First impressions leave an impact. From the moment we entered the person who welcomed us, was rude. When I asked him what name he had for us, his reply was “ I don’t know, you did the booking you should know!!” Two from our group were running late so we were told we have the table for 90 minutes and would have to leave irrespective of when our friends arrived (fair enough). But the cherry on top was when we ordered our food. We asked if we could order the sharing platter for 4, they refused and said we all had to order a main each! We have never in our lives had a restaurant tell us what we HAD to order. Apparently it’s in their booking T&Cs! We left ! Would Never attempt on going there again.

It was nice; I went there with my work colleagues for Christmas dinner. It was lovely. We chose this place because my colleagues wanted to drink and I myself don't and I think this is a good place for such occasions because cocktails and mocktails and all their meat is halal. I got myself a chicken shish, which was cooked perfectly and a mocktail. For dessert, I tried their strawberry cheesecake, which again did not disappoint. Overall, the experience was nice. The environment was good it was busy when we got there.

We didn't stay for food so can't comment. But so disappointed with service and attitude of staff especially after we travelled from London and Leicester and left without eating and where taken aback on how rude and unwelcoming the staff made us feel. Think carefully f you plan to eat here. You have only 90 minutes and then kicked out.

Came here on a Saturday with my Friend after the brunch service. Food was quick & nice

The atmosphere is clean and exotic, and the staff are very friendly. The lamb dish was excellent. The meat was very tender, the sauce was delicious, and it was warm and comfortable. Highly recommended!

The food was good, but unfortunately, the experience was not. We were 9 people, and after ordering plenty of starters we tried to order mains for 6 people as we knew we wouldn´t be able to eat more, and the waitress pushed us to order more. After telling him we thought that was plenty of food he replied the food we had ordered was not enough at all, and he forced us to order more. When we finished the lunch so much food was left that we got 3 full boxes (over 2kg of food). In summary, don´t go there unless you want to be bullied by the waitress to order way too much food.

I celebrated my 33rd birthday here. Tbh Im a bit disappointed, maybe because I expected too much seeing their IG account. Not their fault though. I was hyped seeing how the ambience looked in the pictures. It was a bit bland in person. Food serving is 👍🏻 we loved the starters. Mains were 💯My 5 month old loved the pita bread! 🥰 It was his first taste of solid food. Mocktail was presented beautifully!

The 2 stars are for the food. The food was good, but the service was absolutely horrific, went here for my friends 18th bday and the service was horrible. They were dismissive and rude, and they even gave her a dirty knife for her cake that looked like it had been used on meat when we wiped it on the napkin. It was a busy Saturday night so some grace can be given but this happening barely anything can excuse that

Brilliant bottomless brunch for my daughter’s birthday. Great service and delicious food. Our waiter was lovely and kept us supplied with drinks and cocktails! All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is beautifully done up with a great atmosphere. Great restaurant, six of us turned up on a Friday night without booking & they managed to seat us despite being busy. The staff were amazing, very friendly & helpful. The food was delicious, I had the meat moussaka, which was delicious whilst some of my companions had the Lamb kleftiko, which they all said was lovely. Definitely would recommend & certainly will return.

We booked this restaurant for a night out and I was specifically looking for a place which could cater gluten free as I am coeliac. The choice here was amazing, I'd highly recommend the Kleftoko and they made sure I had gluten free available. We had booked for a large group, and the number changed at short notice. The staff took it all in their stride and discreetly added more tables and place settings so that the rest of the party didn't even notice, I was so grateful that they could accommodate us. This will be my restaurant of choice when I am staying in Milton Keynes, Highly recommended!

I got to a lot of turkish restaurants. I visited here on 24/08/2024. Decor is beautiful. The food was okay. My lamb was very fatty. However the service was so slow. We went in thr afternoon. It was busy but not crazy. We had to wait 40 minutes in between starters and main. They also charge a £1 extra for each extra sauce! I've never known a turkish place to charge extra for sauces with food. That made me very unhappy so definitely will not be returning. Much better options available.

Fantastic place, I have to say the place looks fantastic, if I had my own restaurant, this would be so close to my vision! Decor is upmarket and classy. The staff, polite friendly and very attentive... no waiting around, constantly watching customers for eye contact to serve you quickly and efficiently 👍. hospitality since covid 19 has been awful in many place of ... but not this place, they have got it right here, I will be back for sure... drove 25 miles to have a nice meal and treat my mum. ... so it's nice to come to this place and not feel like you ask a waitress for a favour when you're ordering or making a request. This place is old school and I like that and appreciate it. Special thanks to Dilan and her colleagues, with prices going up dining out, the kind of service here , that allows you to ignore the price and appreciate having a nice enjoyable time and feel like you got great value for your money. Beautiful restaurant, good food and excellent service

Hats off to Blirc absolutely great customer service, went out to dinner with my daughter and I made the wrong choice of food, I only ate a couple of mouthfuls and left it Blirc notice and asked if something was wrong, I explained that there was nothing wrong I just didn't like it my mistake but rather than leave me there hungry he offered to cook something else. I've never experienced that before. Blirc was charming and attentive throughout our time in the restaurant without crowding us allowing a much needed catch up with my daughter .. Thanks for a great evening, we will be back thanks to you and I will be recommending the restaurant.

It took 5 minutes to get even a drinks menu. We could hardly ever get a servers attention. The food all tasted the same. How do you manage to have squid, salmon and prawns in the same dish and make them all have no individual flavour? Somethings gone wrong. My friend said the same about his dish. The drinks were nice and the people friendly but inattentive!

Celebrated my 50th for the bottomless brunch, there was 25 or us. We were really looked after, drinks flowing and great food. We all had a great time and were well looked after by our attentive waiters.

Been there for birthday celebration and can’t recommended enough. We had a warm welcome from staff and treated very well. Mezes are delicious, grill menu also. I haven’t eaten that quality Çoban Salata ( mediterian salad) long time. Many thanks to Chef Ali and Burç to having us, definitely come back!!

There was no take of food at all…lamp is so hard and smelly…i went with my family and there was a an old man from the staff he came forcefully to take an order from us and he was keep staring every time which was uncomfortable for my family…and then in the end he was trying to be more personal and asking personal questions which was completely intolerable and uncomfortable….MAJOR NO!

Very disappointed! I don’t recommande this place at all! The food is overpriced and is not nice… I order lamb chops, it was overcook, dry and chewy. I spoke to the manager and his responds was not good enough as he said he can’t do anything about that! Service was bad, I had to ask 3 times for a tea… Please don’t waste your time and money at this restaurant it’s not worth it.

Went for a birthday and overall great experience had 3 babies with us so they brought out chips before the drinks for the babies and when noticed that one of the babies liked a slice of watermelon they gave a couple slices so overall great workers looked like they enjoy working there food options was amazing and the dips were beautiful. The food came really quick we had 8 adults + 2 toddlers and 1 baby and food came in 20 minutes. Overall great experience absolutely loved it and would go again if I had the option to. Bear in mind that it is a bit pricey but you definitely get your money's worth.

I’ve been to de Roka on numerous occasions and I leave extremely full and satisfied each time. Even though the portions aren’t big the quality of the food is absolutely amazing! Everything is extremely well seasoned and cooked to perfection! The waiters/ waitresses do and amazing job at looking after you and if you go for a bottomless brunch they will continuously ask if you would like another drink which I absolutely love! A very nice spot for a date or a meal out with family or friends, the interior is also gorgeous highly recommend 😍

Went for a birthday, best restaurant i've been to in a while. Very nice warm, luxury interior design, comfortable seats, workers looked happy to be working there, food was absolutely delicious, drinks are amazing, very clean. Overall would recommend, very unique restaurant. Bear in mind it can be expensive.

The food was incredibly tasty, and the customer service was outstanding. The staff were pleasant, attentive, and made sure to accommodate all our requests. Highly recommend!

I went to a meal here last night and I have to say it was an absolute rip off! That's not to say the service was bad. It was OK l. It even looked quite nice inside. However, the price of the menu was severally over priced! It's not as if the food was amazing either, average at best. Lamb ribs where under cooked. Portion size was terribly small for what we paid. In the picture is supposed to be a sharing plater for 4 for £99.99 and there wasn't even £30 worth of food there. It's clear to see you are just paying the ground rent! As far as value for money goes, I would not recommend.

This Turkish and Mediterranean spot in Milton Keynes amazing super fancy vibe but still really comfy the calamari and king prawns was amazing!! The service was spot on and they Have a big cocktail menu, almost unlimited options overall great food and drinks!!!

Really shocked to see that they had put inedible flowers in our drinks. On pointing it out the manager ( we were told she is the manager) was not receptive to feedback and in fact was rude. She said ‘what do you want me to do?’ and rolled her eyes back. Food was average. Never going back there again.

Please don’t waste your money here- the staff are beyond rude and the food is very overpriced for what you can get elsewhere. Kicking out paying customers, passive-aggressive behaviour from staff- please take your custom elsewhere!

was part of a large table but the service was slow overall even for the starters. They didnt even ask for anyone wanted desserts so that was really odd as didnt expect it. Overall the food was ok but even through mine was about half way served through the part of around 15 people it was warm not hot which once again i expected better.

We visit with my family on lunchtime.The cocktails was really amazing. We liked the decorations was really nice but that’s the only good things I can say unfortunately. The food was bad for the prices and I work as well on hospitality so I cannot say it was the best service. But we enjoyed our drinks and the place!!!!!!

I attended a friend's birthday at this venue hosting 40 people and it was awesome. The food, atmosphere, service and host was superb. Aylin was so sweet. Her smile and body language was so welcoming. She constantly updated us and even informed us when she finished her shift. She was amazing.

The service here is amazing. Our waiter was amazing and so helpful. Food and drinks were good. I really appreciate having my birthday cake delivered by our waiter and having balloons set up by our table. Big thanks for extra strawberries ❤️
