Friendly staff and best Portuguese food.

The chicken and chips were excellent, but the experience was ruined by poor customer service. We had ordered chorizo, which was missing from the delivery. Upon calling House of Chicken to report the issue, their response was completely unhelpful. While I understand that the order was placed through Deliveroo, which may limit their ability to resolve the matter, there are still ways to handle these situations professionally. Instead, their approach was dismissive, leaving us out of pocket for something we never received—through no fault of our own. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and we won’t be ordering from here again.

Amazing meal! I am quite hard to please when going out as often the food can be over promised and under delivered , but the chicken we had tonight as House Of Chicken was divine! Incredibly reasonably priced, sensational tasting and the owners are just truly lovely people! So so good 😊

We tried to bom a table Saturday but it was booked out. So we had takeaway and it’s yhe best takeaway in MK. The food was ready when we arrived and was still amazing when we ate it. It was a massive order for several of us, but both children and adults were super happy.

Fantastic as ever. Chicken delicious and the famous pastel de nata amazing. A place to never forget. Went with friends and did not disappoint. Favorite place from now on.

Such a gem of a place!! We are not local to the area but visited many years ago and have been keen to return. Glad to see it remains as good as the first time. Food well seasoned and well cooked, with a delightful abundance of garlic (🤤). The couple running the joint are so incredibly friendly and passionate. The House special dessert is my new favourite thing and I'll be dreaming of it for some time until I can return again!

Our friends brought us here, it's one of their favourite spots and we can see why. The food is so tasty. Authentic, fuss-free homemade. The owners are legendary. so friendly and welcoming, they make you feel like family. I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing chicken 😋 This restaurant is a stones throw from our home but we only discovered it last year. Miguel and his family run a traditional Portuguese restaurant with small shop attached. The menu is fairly limited but still enough to choose from We had bread and cold meats to start, a whole roast chicken each that came with chips and salad. Our friend had a huge rib eye steak and salad. The food is amazing, perfectly cooked with butter and garlic making sure the chicken is so succulent and finger licking good. I love the litre of vinto verde wine which is very similar to a frizzante. The boys love the Superbock lager, they’ve actually nicknamed this ‘the house of Superbock’. So glad to have found this perfectly formed themed restaurant and will be back time and time again. The homemade pasteis de nata are to die for. Always to full to enjoy on the night so take them home to have with a cuppa the next day.

Very nice welcome. Its a family run business from Guimarães the birth place of Portugal. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the food is amazing so is the wine choices.

Amazing food, great service, all the quality drinks you need, diserts to die for, a home outside home. Cannot recommend HoC enough, give it a try for the best restaurant in Milton Keynes.

As always, the welcome is amazing, the food is amazing, and the staff are amazing and welcoming. For a small family run restaurant, you could not do any better. It is like walking into a family home and being welcomed, and it is very family orientated. They are more like family to us than just a favourite restaurant run by friends. Miguel, Maggie and the staff work long hours, and deserve the break they have early in the week, only opening from Wednesday evening for dinner, through to Sunday afternoon for lunch. We usually go at least once a week (can't go any longer without having either chicken, steak or pork steaks basted in Maggie's secret garlic sauce), and have gone through the entire menu more than once, having been going there since the week after they opened 8 years ago. The temptation to pop into the shop at the back and scoop up some lovely delicacies is impossible to resist. Keep going dear friends, and we will keep supporting you as long as we are able.

I love the family feel of this place. Lovely food, great hosts who are the owners and take great care and attention to detail if you are happy or not. Overall it is a place you can eat and feel like home in equal measures.

The House of Chicken has a special place in our hearts. We have been coming here for many years and it is always lovely. On our visit this time Mark loved the Portuguese steak, so well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We also had the signature grilled chicken, always amazing by Maggie. Coming to this restaurant is like having a hug, we love it.

This is our all-time favourite place to eat The staff are always super friendly and helpful And the food is absolutely gorgeous. The chicken is always so garlic and the rice is just perfect. This is definitely a hidden little gem.

Booking a table in advance is required if you’re planning to visit at weekends. We received a warm welcome, the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

The best chicken in Milton Keynes by far. Maybe even the best we've ever had! And they do other things like steak, ribs and pork. It's a wonderful Portuguese restaurant. Update: it's still great! 👍👍

Incredible Portuguese style chicken!

Wow, such a different, down to earth place to eat. Waiter and Chef were superb, offering advice on food choices and discussing where the food is sourced. Beware food contains lots of garlic, which I love. We discussed this with the owner, and he promptly gave me a bulb. If you love chicken or pork it's a must.

If you want to go to a restaurant and eat well this is the place to go. For me there isn’t a better restaurant in MK or even in any other town nearby. Recommend all the food in the menu and the house dessert 😋

Still the best restaurant in MK. Food is fresh and so tasty. They have the best steaks in Milton Keynes, and by being a small family run restaurant, you are welcomed and not just served. And when I want take away, also my first choice.

We love Portugal and third place is like a little bit lifted and transported to just down the road. Their chicken is first class but they also offer great steaks and pork amongst a range of traditional Portuguese dishes.

My very favourite place in Milton Keynes. This is a family run business and you can tell by the live they put in things. The owner lived having a good chat with the customers, share done Portuguese culture and warmth. The food tastes like Portugal, they bring lots of ingredient directly from there. You can buy some stuff if you want. Small and cozy is perfect for dinner with friends or family. I never get bored of this place!

I love houses and I really love chicken, so House of Chicken was always going to be a surefire win for me. And the owners are so lovely too. Always look forward to my visits.

Visited house of chicken today and I was not disappointed. I had the chicken. The flavours were amazing and the chicken succulent. The home made chips were amazing. My grandson had the steak which was cooked to perfection and was so big it was hanging off the end of the plate. Said it was the best steak he had ever had. My granddaughter had the pork belly which was full of flavour and delicious. The service was excellent. Definitely be back

I am Portuguese, finding this place is like finding a little corner of home! The best rotisserie chicken I’ve ever had (even in Portugal!). If you would like to try something different please go for the chicken gizzards, Portuguese chorizo and black pudding. Follow this with the Portuguese style steak and finish with the house dessert! Well done!

Another visit to House of Chicken, another outstanding experience. Whenever we visit we feel like we are being welcomed like family and we are looked after so, so well. The food (whatever you choose) I can guarantee will be delicious. If the menu appears simple at first, it’s only because Miguel and his team only serve what they know they are exceptional at. My husband is Portuguese, and this is the only place outside Portugal he will go for home-comfort dishes, and he says it’s the best Portuguese style chicken he’s ever had outside his Grandma’s kitchen. We will absolutely be back soon!

Authenticity…friendly service…and quality food reasonably priced I highly recommend to call out for your order in advance so no need to wait for your fresh grilled chicken prepared to perfection. Also went to eat on premises several times, Miguel was very welcoming every time, the food fantastic, will be back with some friends soon.

What a fantastic family run restaurant! This is the best food you will EVER taste and you will be looked after so well by the owners that you will want to go back every week!! We love it here and so do our kids. I cannot recommend it highly enough…go try it NOW you will NOT regret it!!!! 😋

A little bit of Portugal in Britain. I can't recommend thus place highly enough. Our first visit was a year ago and we were infected by the simple but very tasty fare (totally different to any chicken I've had before), fine Portuguese wine, the great vibrant atmosphere and the warmth and friendliness of the staff and owners. Returning we ensured we got a table and the menu choice we booked a month in advance (Francesinha, with the sauce made from 15 ingredients including Douro wine and beer - you have to try thus once in your life!) and vinho verde (Douro) wine. We chatted to Miguel, the owner, for ages - it seemed like he'll give you all the time in the world to chat to you. He was very keen to ensure we were enjoying our food and our time in his place, it was like being a guest in his home. He was delighted to tell us about his home town, his journey to being the owner of his marvellously humble restaurant. It may be small and not look grand outside but it more than makes up for it in quality, atmosphere, service and more!

Good authentic food, full of flavour! We had the chouriço, the pork and the ribs with chips , the food was amazing and very fresh. Very nice atmosphere and attentive and friendly. This place is a must try! Amazing experience can’t recommend enough. There is a little grocery are where we can get lots of different Portuguese goodies. Can’t wait to visit again!

Hidden gem, friendly, exceptional chicken

This is my favourite date night spot with my Portuguese husband. It’s the most delicious, authentic Portuguese food with the best service. We always feel so welcomed by Miguel and his wife. It always shocks my how cheap they bill is, they should truly charge more for this incredible food, wine and desserts.

Small family owned restaurant where you can have a taste of authentic Portuguese homemade food, amazing staff, very helpful and always making sure that everyone is comfortable and happy. Amazing experience!

Incredible place, easily our favourite place to eat and take friends and family to. The chicken is Incredible, perfect! And the atmosphere is lovely, traditional, like we are family. We eat in for the best experience, having mains, sides, desserts and absolutely the coffee!

I would say it is the best grilled chicken from Milton Keynes and the pork is also amazing; the wine selection is great (good quality Portuguese wine). Everything topped with really friendly staff, so it doesn’t deserve less than 5*. Keep up the good work!

The House of Chicken has a special place in our hearts. We have been coming here for many years and it is always lovely. We visited last weekend for lunch and we had absolutely delicious food as always, a wonderful warm welcome from Miguel and Maggie, and a lovely chilled experience. Great to see the young ones too. This family run business is fantastic and ticks all the boxes you need. Great quality food, very competitive prices, homely feel environment, adorable host and chef aka the owner! You feel like you are home having a large gathering it gives off that warmth and comfort and long may it continue.

Great food and service. The owners were so attentive to our needs. Due to being a large group, we were able to order in advance which made getting our food quicker. We were served authentic Portuguese coffee. Will definitely be going back soon.

Stop by at House of Chicken, this family oriented restaurant will make you feel like you just went to Portugal for Dinner and came back on time to watch the night news. The Chicken is a must, but the steaks are to die for… the pork belly, grilled to perfection, the orawn rissoles and fish cakes, the local tremoços, or even the gizzards will make you want to come back, again and again until you tried the entire menu… and then repeat. And all that with the company of amazing wine, good beer, or just simply a great variety of soft drinks. And to extend the pleasure, there is a small grocery in the back, so you can take a bit of a souvenir home with you for latter…

I've been out with my wife and my daughter. Staff are very friendly and helpful. All the time when i go there they are cheering and giving their best to be everyone satisfied and fulfilled.

We went here on our wedding anniversary and had a great time, the staff are so engaging and friendly - a very multicultural experience 😀. It's an authentic Portuguese cafe experience and, having recently returned from a holiday there, I can tell you that it ranks well with the restaurants in Portugal 🇵🇹

Taken by a Portuguese colleague who described this as “the best chicken in the UK” and he was not wrong. Do not be put off by the location, get in side and feel the warm hug of lovely staff, serving exceptional food cooked over authentic hot coals.

First time at this restaurant today and was blown away by the flavours of the food ! Everything we ordered was delicious and so well seasoned and balanced . The service was lovely and they were so attentive with us . We left there with full and very happy ! Lovely local restaurant and will be returning.

Me and my 3 mates go here at least once a week or once every 2 weeks at least. The food is incredible, the owner Miguel and his wife and staff are very polite and chatty and the beer they serve, Super Bok is one of the best beers around. Me and my mates love it here!

Great little Portuguese grill restaurant. Friendly owners and staff, tasty food for a good price. Highly recommend the mixed grill to share and the grilled chorizo starter. There's also a little deli with all the Portuguese food and drink you could want! This place is only small so call ahead to check if they have a table.

Amazing food, amazing prices and amazing service

House of Chicken is something special. Unassuming from the outside, nestled away in an innocuous location, this is one of those hidden gems that would have been a local secret before the advent of the internet. This restaurant is the best of any I have been to. There is no simpler way to explain just how much I have enjoyed every single visit. The food is flawless, and so affordable that it's impossible to resist becoming a regular. I would recommend the beef steak (bitoque), but it is hard to go wrong with the short, but infinitely tempting, menu. Couple all of this with the genuine "family run" restaurant feel, and Miguel always being the perfect host, and I cannot recommend House of Chicken enough.

We tried to book a table for 11 am, since their website says they open Wednesday - Sunday at 10.00. No reply was received, so we called - at which point we were (very politely) informed that they open at 12.00, and they never opened...

Lovely little Portuguese restaurant located in bletchley. The chicken is cooked to perfection with lots of garlic. I have been to Lisbon and the chicken there does not come close to this. Small family owned where You are looked after and treated like a guest...

My goodnessssss!!! Their food is super delicious combined with their home made rice!!! Try it and you’ll never forget it❤️❤️❤️
