The Garden Cafe in New Forest

2 meals ok but lasagne was very watery and tasted awful. not the usual standard.

We, a local cycling club, started visiting the garden café after another café closed down. The Garden Café has ben very accommodating and even allows us to store cycles in the lovely rear courtyard garden which is great in the sun and has at least another ten tables. Coffee is great as is the cake on offer. I haven't personally eaten at the café yet but it is always busy so food must be good. Staff are always happy and welcoming. We will be continuing to visit and support this local café.

Staff brilliant very helpful asked and got what we wanted would recommend this restaurant to all.

Piping hot and good size portions

I love this place! I come here every week. I don't even have to order as they remember my order and prepare my food very quickly. You can always get a seat, the premesis is always spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food always excellent. They reinvest into the business and keep standards very high. An excellent menu (even though I always have the same thing) and some good value 'specials' on the board. Park in the car park behind Morrisons and it is a two minute walk. Cannot recommend highly enough.

As a regular customer I can verify this is a great place to visit, the standard has always been high, the staff are warm and friendly, the pricing is fair, the food and portion size is always superb, as well as pavement seating they do have a small garden area out the back for additional outdoor seating, its table service and pay at the till before exit 👍

First time visiting here and I had a very nice breakfast. I got there at opening time and within minutes it was filling up which tells me it's good and it was. I'll definitely return when I'm visiting the area.

Had a good breakfast which was a fair price. Free parking outside which can fill up at 9am when everything else starts opening up. Nice and quiet inside, some outdoor seating available. Vegetarian breakfast available.

I enjoy coming here, friendly staff good freshly cooked meals salads and sandwiches. Enjoy sitting outside either in the garden or people watch out the front.

Looking for a place open on a Sunday afternoon, was relieved to see ‘The Garden Cafe’. We were very thirsty and hungry after a long walk. Opted for a Cheeseburger and cold drinks. The food was delicious, and very reasonably priced. The owners/staff very hospitable. Last but not least, the ‘facilities’ exceptionally clean.

Cooked breakfast arrived with gray non slip metal from the pan on the back side of the eggs , photo taken and send via email to cafe 2 months ago and still no response, unsafe vary unhappy with then for not even replaying, keep an eye out

Order a burger which says it comes with chips only I didn't get chips they came early didn't even knock or ring bell I only knew there were there because I just taking bins out never using them again

An excellent cafe that we use on a regular basis. the food is consistently good, the service is very good and the staff are friendly. They serve an excellent breakfast and the food is always cooked fresh to order. There are a variety of teas and coffees too. They also do a variety of lunches too. It is reasonably priced.

I Very satisfied of how early my order arrived and how helpful the staff member on the phone was so I could request no egg for myself. However When the food arrived for myself and my family My daughter's pancakes were in a clear small tub and she barely ate them saying she didn't like them when I asked her to bring them to me I tasted them they tasted very greasy and unfortunately not pancake like. Myself and my Mr had cooked breakfast which were in small tubs The food seemed to be cooked. Unfortunately this wasn't up to scratch with my partners preferences who only tasted bits saying it was awful and also again didn't eat very much Sadly a first and clearly a last purchase for this household

The food was very hot! And cooked and tasted perfect x even the toast was still warm x

A nice cafe. The food is good and the music was definitely to my taste. Only bad point which dropped a star is the plates we had for our breakfasts had bulging bottoms. This caused them to spin when we tried to cut things making it interesting to eat.

This cafe is very close to where I work and I have sampled many different foods from them. Lovely and friendly staff, sometimes if you are early enough, you can hear the chef singing in the kitchen. The coffee there is the best and I would definitely recommend their omelettes

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, order taken and drinks quickly served. Two mega breakfast arrived as ordered, but don't expect mushrooms or tomato without paying extra (£1.50 per additional item). For a breakfast costing nearly £10 you'd expect these cheap items. Seems the more you pay for breakfast the less variety of items you get. The food quailty is quite low too. Cheap products. Drinks are extra too, not included in breakfast cost. So over £26 for 2 breakfast with coffee.

Town centre cafe. Food is freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Full English breakfask £8.90, too much for me to eat, lol. Pot of tea £2.50 or £2 for a mug. New decor it was clean and the staff were helpful. There is plenty of town centre parking nearby, so it's worth a visit if you are in New Milton.

We were so excited to see we could get breakfast delivered to lymington! But the veggie sausages need sending back to the 80s where you found them! So many nice veggie sausages available now that you don't expect a breakfast baguette to turn up with these atrocities with bits of pea and carrot inside. Couldn't eat it, 100% guaranteed to make a hangover worse. These are the option always bought by any restaurant who literally hates vegetarians, please change them.

Awful food and service. £30+ for a light lunch and drinks. Cold atmosphere, don’t know what is ‘garden’ about this cafe. Couldn’t eat the food, the waitress was not approachable in the slightest so paid the bill and decided NEVER to return.

Long wait say hour but was nearly 2 hours

Having arrived on the train from Portsmouth for an appointment. Had time for some breakfast. Arrived in cafe approx 11am. Order taken promptly and hot drinks served. We waited and waited for our food. Several other customers came in after us and had their food before us! My partner, who has worked in a busy hotel restaurant, could see the orders being moved about on the wall in the kitchen. Chef was prioritising other orders? Washing up was being done, tables were being cleared as other customers were awaiting to pay. Only one person was using the till. After 45 minutes we left the cafe after offering to pay for the drinks we had as we needed to get to our appointment. On a first impression, serve customers in the correct order not what is easiest to prepare.

Lovely place for a chilled breakfast on a Sunday morning. Fabulous staff, wonderful food, and friendly patrons 🙂🙂

Sunday for four people. Very clean resturant. Service: quick and friendly. Food: Short wait but food of good quality and well presented. Mega- breakfast was very good value. In all, well pleased. Will visit again.

Cheap nasty milkshake & a cheap nasty sausage bap that contained just the one sausage & a cheap roll. I know it’s only a £2.50 special but one sausage! Really?!

Prices gone up to much nearly £5 for beans on toast and thin bread and could count the beans also £2 can of pop 😫

Such a not welcoming staff!!! Came in and left straight away. Grumpy face of the front of the house and his bad energy doesn't encourage to even try coffee and food there....

We always have breakfast there it always clean tidy and the staff ate very friendly.

Stopped off for a coffee only to discover they have a minimum spend of £10 on card transactions! Really ? Ended up going to Costa. Prefer to support local independent places but on this occasion had to go elsewhere. Shame.

Really lovely cafe very welcoming staff my son said the caramel latte was "the best he's ever had" we came for breakfast and were not disappointed the food was good, the only thing i didnt personally enjoy were the sausages but theyre like chip shop sausages so if you like those youll love these, great portion sizes and fairly priced would recommend and would happily go back

Having eaten here again my past review was overly critical. Food is generally good and fairly priced. I thought it was over priced but having eaten from various places outside new Milton I can see generally perhaps prices have gone up and the prices here are in keeping with the marketplace. Even though live quite far away, and difficult to find, the food was delivered extremely quick and hot by a nice friendly delivery driver. Yes the food is a bit pricier than normal takeaways, but I'm quite a good home cook and I know my curries, the meat and sauces tasted pretty much homemade and tender. The taste was amazing! Do be aware when you order a curry it comes with rice so you might not need to order extra rice. 5 stars.

Delicious food. Delivered piping hot and packaged well. Lasagne to die for. Would highly recommend. Only slight comment down to personal choice would like chips crisper.

Hands down the worst cafe I’ve ever been to. Overpriced disgusting food. Beans flooded, bacon uncooked, all ingredients tasted cheap and nasty. Hats off to the cafe for staying in business

Expensive for what you actually get!

Was not happy at all £25 for the order, the £4.50 pancakes were not worth the money the mega breakfast nearly £9 was not mega, there were 2 rashers of bacon on the baguette that did not fill the baguette and I had to butter the baguette myself , the small cartons of juice were £2 each, you can not seriously charge these prices for the quality or quantity that was provided, will certainly not be ordering from here again

Unfortunately food is over priced and of mediocre to low quality. For example the sausages used in the breakfast are as cheap as possible and the pukka pies are a rip off. Pukka pies are less than 2 pounds in a shop but here with chips and peas they are 8 pounds. That's ridiculous. Also a small lasagna and chips for 8.50 is unreasonable. Not sure how this shop has such good reviews. For this price the quality should be higher in my opinion.
