The Greek Arch in Thanet

We’ve just eaten an absolutely delicious meal from the Greek Arch. Amazing gigantes, brilliant chicken and pork kebabs with all the trimmings followed by yummy baklava. Wish we had such a great Greek restaurant in our neighbourhood!

Visited this restaurant a couple of months ago its was lovely the chicken kebabs were cooked to perfection and wonderful chips.We were served by Nancy herself what a great lady?Can't wait to go back next month when we return to Ramsgate for a few days.Michelle and Keith.

Lovely little dining place with some great views over the Ramsgate Royal harbour. Delicious Greek food and very friendly and welcoming staff and the restaurant owner. I enjoyed my lunch and highly recommend this place!

If you're looking for Cypriot food and a beautiful location, look no further. This is the place you want to come and try the souvlaki kebab and the refreshing Keo beer. Set in the stunning arches of Ramsgate this place offers everything from superb waiting staff and owner, deliciously grilled kebabs and a view to take your breath away. Me and my wife had a lovely meal The service was excellent it was relaxing there was no rush this made it more enjoyable

We ate here on Thursday 15th. A family group of 6 adults and 4 children. The food was plentiful and delicious. I believe we were the last customers of the day, but the service was still friendly and attentive. The children were delighted they were invited to explore the upper floor and really had a lovely time. As did we all. Can't wait to visit again.

Brilliant service with the most lovely smiling staff. Sat outside for lunch after visiting the Ramsgate Tunnels. Ordered calamari, Greek salad, meatballs, burger and fish. All lush. Thank you!

The lamb kleftico was Not the original dish. It had been amended so much as to be unrecognisable. It was very greasy and served with a small raw salad and roasted new potatoes. Kleftico is essentially a lamb casserole cooked Together with potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and feta cheese chunks. That was very disappointing! I won't be returning.

Food was really nice, my preference would have been for calamari to be crisper but my friend loved it. Really lovely staff and owner came round to check too. Beautiful view

Just been there and it was great! Food a little pricy but expected given it's a small business, justified by the quality. The woman serving us made sure we were comfortable and the atmosphere gave off a tranquil, family vibe. Decent alternative to bigger chain restaurants.

Lovely experience as always. Felt very well looked after by the staff and had amazing food. My partner and I had the full mezze, and each time we were surprised when a new dish came out! Each dish was done beautifully and we both left very happy. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat in Ramsgate!

Sadly I didn't manage photos of the food, but in a way it shows I was more interested in eating it! The lady serving us was fantastic. Cooking the food as well but managed to still be enthusiastic and really gave a good vibe. We had a platter of several starters between two of us with a lovely greek salad. Tasty and certainly worth the price. If you're in Ramsgate and you fancy some Greek food, this is the place.

The full mezze is not very good value, it would have worked out better to just each pick a few things from each menu, even then the quality wasnt up there for the price charged. The waiter kept telling us how much food it was, but it really wasn't. for the dessert we only got 1 slice of cake even tho it was a mezze for 2, the cake was dissapointing, no baklava? in the end I wish I had of taken my visiting friends somewhere else, i wont be returning there are many better value and better quality places in ramsgate. This place had no vibe or wow factor but acts like it does.

Disappointed. Used to love this place but haven't been here in over a year. The food isn't as good. We had chicken kebab with chips and salad. Very expensive for what you get and I couldn't taste the ' authentic Greek herbs and spices'. Hummus was a dry dollop, definitely changed since I went there with friends last year.

An absolute gem of a restaurant tucked away in Ramsgate harbour food is to die for and the service is spot on, the atmosphere always pleasant, we was dinning for a birthday the restaurant owner went out her way to accommodate and provided a lovely cake to the birthday person. If you like greek food this is must.

Amazing place and can't recommend enough! Eaten there over 10 times and never been disappointed. Nancy is a great cook and host and really adds to the experience.

Lovely little restaurant. For starters we had houmous, halloumi and sausage which was good, especially the houmous, this was delicious. For main we shared the meatballs and a chicken kebab. The meatballs were good though it would have been nice to have some more meatballs - or if they were a bit bigger. The fries were very good. The chicken kebab was ok, cooked well but not much seasoning. It would have been really nice to have been offered some dip with it as it was a little dry with the pitta. But we did enjoy our visit.

Walk around Ramsgate harbour, stopped off for lunch. Amazing place ,very friendly welcome, also allowed dogs in. Food and service was first class. Would definitely go back.

Nancy, the lovely owner, is superlative. She's super attentive and caring. A gem by the lovely Ramsgate Harbour. After a 2h cycle from Margate, we were looking for some comforting food. Nancy served us some handmade dolmae, vegan moussaka and chicken kebab. Everything was absolutely delicious and made with love. You can tell that Nancy pours her soul in what she does. We had a lovely time while being accompanied by some Greek music. Thank you for this experience, we will come back!

Nestled in Ramsgate Marina, The Greek Arch is a culinary haven. The food was absolutely delicious, hands down the best we've had in town. Our 5-year-old, usually a picky eater, loved every bite, especially the fish. A five-star feast we can't recommend enough.

Great birthday lunch. Calm atmosphere with a great view of the harbour. Food was lovely and fresh especially the falafel and mousaka, great attention to detail and taste. Service was spot on and had a real personal touch which is what you expect from a great run family restaurant. We will be back again! Order the falafel never had it this fresh in my life!

We stumbled upon The Greek Arch as we were exploring Ramsgate Harbour. Nancy welcomed us in with a friendly persona and an abundance of energy. Nancy quickly identified that we had a fussy eater within our party and catered for him accordingly. The menu was explained, food was delivered quickly and efficiently and every dish was delicious (we know this as we all shared our different dishes because they all looked so nice). The restaurant is in a picturesque location and the ambience enjoyable. Thank you Nancy for making catering to all our needs, we loved being in your company. Have a great season and best wishes.

Found this lovely restaurant today whilst on a day out to Ramsgate. The food was really tasty and the service by young Calum first class. Thank you so much Nancy for the care and conversation you gave to we two exhausted ladies. Will tell my daughter in law Caliopi all about you and your charming restaurant.

Took my mum here for mother's day dinner, amazing food and service from Nancy. I chose The Greek Arch because my mum is vegetarian and when I was looking for somewhere to take her for dinner all I could find were places with 1 food option for Veggies, The Greek Arch has soooo much choice for Veggies! She ended up having the vegetarian moussaka which was super yummy, I had the chicken kebab which was also great and we shared tzatsiki and garlic mushrooms for starters and a rum baba for dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, Nancy is amazing! She really went above and beyond, we will definitely be back.

Lovely little gem. Just went for a hot drink. Most delicious slice of Greek Orange cake, you have to try it! 😋, Sitting outside on the harbour, was perfect 👌 Lovely, personal service. Recommend!

Fantastic food and very pleasant staff and the owner Nancy is very accommodating And friendly and a dog friendly restaurant which made our night absolutely beautiful

Went in for lunch today was very quiet, being off season and a wet day not surprised. The owner was amazing, she was so welcoming and accommodating. Her service was fantastic great with the kids, really friendly. More importantly she was quick and efficient. Food is great really simple Greek menu but everything was fantastic. Great portions as well. Will return next time we are down for sure. Would highly recommend a visit.

Nancy is a very attentive and caring restaurant owner. If dining inside, you will sit in a converted ancient archway. You must get over a smell of damp upon entry, you get used to it after a couple of minutes. Once settled in Nancy will guide you through the menu. Her food is cooked with real love from the heart. You can tell she has mastered her cooking skills. The lamb and gravy were the best I've ever eaten. The house wine is absolutely amazing. If visiting Ramsgate I would certainly go again.

Delicious food , fresh ingredients, great service , wonderful atmosphere

I visited the Greek arch recently with my wife and sister dining in for our evening meal. Second visit to this place after a previously good experience. We came away very disappointed, the food was reheated and the chicken kebabs were dry and tough, my kleftico was the fattiest I've ever encountered! The young waiter cleared our plates while my wife was still eating, and later went to the toilet (door straight from the dining area) and did not wash his hands as the hand dryer wasn't used. The owner seemed to want us out and we felt rushed. Last straw, when we got home realised we'd been overcharged £5 for a drink we didn't have. In fairness to the owner our previous visit in high season was good but this visit it was appalling. Make your own minds up.

Would highly recommend to anyone. great meat and vegan/vegetarian options, the food was amazing the atmosphere was great and the owner is really something special, she went out of her way to make sure it was the best dinning experience we have ever had.

Arrived on a wet and windy Sunday and decided to have brunch. Had a big and little breakfast which was delicious. I wanted to substitute some of the items and the server couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Great service, nice atmosphere, a firm favourite.

We came here on a damp October Friday night. Were met by the very welcoming and polite owner, we were the only customers. Another table came in a bit later and were given the same friendly welcome. She chatted to us and made us feel very comfortable, as a vegan so nice to have a variety of choices on the menu. A lovely building, so much to look at inside. I chose the vegan moussaka, so tasty and made freshly. My partner had the lamb dish, which he enjoyed, it was a little fatty, as it can be, but he was then given a complimentary dessert, even though this was of no fault of the owner. Amazing food and hospitality all be one person. Highly recommend.

First visit here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nancy was really nice and friendly and brought us out some lovely food. Stayed open later for us as well. Highly recommended!

We went on a quiet Weds night, were made very welcome. It's a great space and very friendly. Some of us have lived in Cyprus and we have all been to many Greek- Cypriot restaurants, but never been fed better than this! The whitebait were fantastic and the main courses delicious. The desserts were excellent. The fresh salads and wonderful feta were so good! My bean stew was really, really good , such a great time. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with a restaurant and all run by one person. Just fabulous. Oh and the loos were sparkling clean and very spacious. 10/10!

We just had lunch on a quiet beautiful Tuesday in October. We were served by the lovely lady owner. Food was fabulous, great atmosphere and service. I liked the mismatched cutlery and foreign beach front feel. It was like being abroad, sat in the sun admiring the harbour views. They were great and very accommodating for our 14 month old son too. I had one very small Greek salad, it was like a starter and some vine leaves one glass of wine and a dessert I was on my own £37.50 I couldn’t believe it to be quite honest. I didn’t even look at the prices my mistake, but I will never go back there again. I don’t mind paying if it’s great it was nothing. and it also stunk of mould inside, so I sat outside I should’ve known

Stopped for lunch here. Amazingly warm welcome by the owner. Had some halloumi, smoked pork lountza and greek salad. Fast service, really really tasty food. Great location. It reminded me of holidays in Greece eating by the sea. Parking is terrible but that isn't the restaurants fault. Would love to come back and try some of the mains.

Food was nice. Service was really poor. I would not choose the mezze as 6 of us had it. And there was only enough brought out for 4. Said it was 15 courses, was about 5. And at £35 per person total rip off

This restaurant needs a really good over haul and a clean. The food was good staff okay but the environment was depressing but good be really great. It’s nothing like the photos attached.

Our first visit last night, and my first time trying greek cuisine. Ordered the meze for two. Very worthwhile, really good value for money and a lot of different things to try - we had to borrow an extra table as it wouldn't all fit on ours! It was very busy, so service was a little slow (we didn't notice until listening to the meze menu being read to a table nearby, that our portion of chicken skewers had never arrived, but we didn't mention it as it took nothing away from the meal or the value, the staff were rushed off their feet, and at least one of the waiters was clearly new). Slightly slow service, for us, is nothing to worry about in a clearly very popular establishment and we weren't in a hurry. The view across the harbour was beautiful, too. Felt like a little holiday! We also met the owner, who is lovely and appears to look after her staff well. We will definitely return.

Beautifully home cooked Green food, best we have had in Uk. Staff friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was cosy and perfectly positioned overlooking the picturesque harbour! We will visit again and again, can’t wait to work our way through the meal and sample this delicious menu!

We ate there last night, I ordered pork kebab and chips, my partner ordered sea bass and chips, our meals were served and was told chips are cooked separately, ? We had finished our meals and still no chips, staff were apologetic but won't be rushing to go back,

Fabulous Greek food in a wonderful spot overlooking the marina. Service is very warm and friendly, and dogs are welcome. Every time we come we are impressed. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Feels like you are on holiday in the Med when you eat here.

Yes is was very good with good service and good food

Space in the restaurant is beautiful, food is tasty, but on the whole it's extremely overpriced. If you're going to charge £18 for a slim slice of veggie moussaka with some lettuce and tomato on the side, you can afford to hire some more staff to support the lovely but totally overwhelmed servers we had. At one point there was ONE young guy seating customers, waiting all the tables, running food, and making the drinks. This meant that service was slow and we had to ask for things multiple times. Again, wouldn't be an issue if the food wasn't SO expensive!!

Fab food, passionate owner/chef. let down by mouldy smelling premises and unknowledgeable staff. Started cleaning plates away before our fellow diners had finished. Chef turned customers away at 20:30pm as she had finished. Would be much better off serving 4-10pm for example. Lovely lady however and some fantastic Greek food!

Came into this wonderful little Travena about 4.30pm for food. The owner was super friendly and couldn't have been more welcoming. Prepared the most delicious bean and vegetable stew from scratch. All the food I ate was so tasty and fresh. Thoroughly recommend.

I went along and spotted The Greek Arch tavern, it looked lovely and there was lovely music playing. Took a seat and the owner Nancy came and greeted me, she made me feel so welcome. The food was ready in really good time and it was DELICIOUS! I was bowled over by the freshness and excellent quality of the food. I felt so spoilt . It ended my day on a wonderful relaxing and very welcoming high note. Thank you so much Nancy, you are a wonderful hostess and made me feel so very comfortable.

Really disappointed, was looking forward to authentic Greek food. Unfortunately tasteless and tough was the chicken kebab. £27 bottle of white was awful. Waitress was exceptional.

Waiting staff were fine and friendly but food was over priced, poor quality and badly cooked (calling it 'cooking' is a bit of a stretch tbh). A disappointment.

This is our first time back since lockdown and I was disappointed. We had a starter between us and the wife had chicken kebab and I had the Greek Beefburger. The chicken kebab was tasty but small and my Greek beefburger was tiny, overdone and very disappointing. For £16 I was expecting a thick juicy burger, what I got was an overdone tiny piece of meat which was covered by a slice of haloumi. We left hungry. I asked the waiter for some salt and after some time I had to go to the counter to ask again. This is a very atmospheric restaurant with attentive service which has lot its way and its sad because it used to be a lot better. We will not return,

The location and atmosphere was delightful, but the real highlights were the wonderful food and the incredibly passionate hostess who prepared it for us. We felt like honoured guests in someone's home rather than customers at a restaurant and we will definitely be returning.

Sorry , I really wanted to like this place more. Let me just say , the service was great. But £15;00 for some dry chicken, chips and a scrap of salad !!

Great service, great food great atmosphere and sitting in the sun with the sky blue and the boat's bobbing, a little slice of Greece on our doorstep.

The manager / servers welcoming and attentive. The food was authentic and beautifully presented. In particular the Main course Fish was excellent, the Salads and kebabs were an excellent choice. In particular the Lamb was cooked and prepared by a expert, the very best I have ever had the pleasure of eating; on a par with the very best Top restaurants I have attended. We were a party of 9 all ages. Comes well recommended to any passer by. Well done to you all. Made our evening. Thank you

We had an evening meal, calami, whitebait starters, and seabass for mains, absolutely delicious. The food was amazing, and service so friendly we properly relaxed and enjoyed the eve.

Went here on a Wednesday night for a birthday. Although there were a lot of us we were well looked after but an excellent waiter and the food (Meze) just kept coming. Some of us having lived in Cyprus had high expectations and they were well met! Great value, great Greek wine and amazing food. Thank you for a terrific night!

My absolute favourite restaurant in Ramsgate. The chef makes everything fresh and homemade. Not only is it delicious, it nourishes your soul! Particularly delicious veggie options!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The Kleftiko is top 3 I've ever had, the ambience is amazing and everyone working there made the entire experience even better!

Cracking place to grab some Greek styled num nums. Service was friendly and the food was great. We sat outside in the sun and monched on our kebabs. Space outside is limited but plenty of seating inside should it be full.

Genuinely no idea how this place is still open. The food is terrible. The whitebait was like little skeletons, turned to dust in your mouth, the kind of thing you’d feed a cat. Calamari was so heavily battered in tasted like a doughnut. Taramasalata was flavourless, no idea how you even do that. In fact, the whole cold meze would have been significantly better if we’d just got it from M&S. If you like nice food steer well clear of this place, the only good thing about it is the location.
