On our first evening in Ramsgate we wandered along the promenade from our apartment to find a decent place to have dinner. It was quite full outside but we went in anyway and they were able to accommodate us easily inside. We had a starter each and a large sharing platter between the three of us which was more than adequate. In fact we couldn't finish it all and they kindly packed the rice and chicken wings for us to take away. The service was attentive but not rushed and there were two birthday groups. The food was OK if not up to the standard of Turkish restaurants in North London and there even some Turkish people dining at the next table which is always a sign of authenticity

We normally go the the sister restaurant in Herne Bay , but tried this location for a change , and the location is good, right on the seafront , but that was the only positive . The waiting staff all seemed to be teenagers showing no experience in serving or setting tables, despite trying to look professional in their uniforms with iPads hanging off their shoulders After seated , we rearranged plates/ cutlery which was completely messed up. Upon ordering , staters arrived , whitebait cooked in a heavy batter , awful dark colour, which completely smothered any taste of fish, tiny portion of calamari . Half way through the starters, complementary bread and salad arrived ( normally served before the stayers in Herne bay), bread was stale, obviously reheated from an earlier session and salad swimming in a tasteless dressing . Waitress came to clear , resulting in used cutlery falling all over the table as she had no idea how to stack and clear a table . Mains, Klefiko lamb was tender but the tomato sauce was very bland , the two chicken dishes we had, the meat was dry and over salted . Very disappointing . Waitress came to clear tables, but instead on scraping left food onto one plate , which should then be stacked on top of the other plates, just stacked all with food on top of each other . We had fallen cutlery and food now dropping onto the table . Completely overpriced, poor quality and laughable amateurish service .

Where to start? I took the wife and kids here on the recommendation of one of my friends and it is utterly amazing. Firstly the food was excellent as we were able to get the A la turka special which was more than enough for a family of 4. The food is delicious and was very quickly served. The exact same can be said about the drinks with a wide variety for an affordable prices. Secondly, the service was even better, our waiter Jed was very polite and the kids loved him, with them sharing a few laughs. He was very quick with serving the drinks and always had a smile 😊. This restaurant is a by far the best on the harbour and I would recommend it to any family looking for a nice place to eat.

Amazing service, very nice servers, very kind and patient (we had lots of questions regarding the menu.. ;)) however, I must say the food is not that great. I mean, it's good! It's definitely proper Turkish food (Turkish restaurant food), but I've tried MANY Turkish restaurants in my lifetime, and unfortunately need to say that this one was lacking a little bit. We had lamb ribs with chips (that's my bf's order, I didn't try it cause I can't stand lamb, but he said it was OK) and I had mix meze plate, borek, halloumi and kebab/meatballs were nice, but falafel and hummus were not great. Also we ordered side of saksuka and kisir cause these two are my favourites, and again, really lacking flavour, they were both quite bland, saksuka being a bit better. It wasn't bad experience at all! And I would come back to try some other dishes, to give them the chance, however I wouldn't rash there every day. Also, it's very expensive for what it is (for ex. 9 quid for 3 tbsp of kisir!). Anyways, thank you for warm welcoming and superb service.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Welcoming has soon as you arrived. Staff were brilliant & the food was out of this world at a great price we deffinetly return when I'm back in Ramsgate

One of the best restaurants that you can experience Turkish cuisine. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff.

Disappointing I had an incredibly frustrating experience with my recent takeaway order. The food arrived an hour late, and to make matters worse, it was someone else's order! When I finally received it, the meal was stone cold and utterly tasteless. I reached out to the restaurant for assistance, but they were unhelpful and simply told me to get a refund from Uber eats, claiming there was nothing they could do. This has been the worst takeaway experience I’ve ever had, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Superb Turkish restaurant. We walked from Marina on a hot Friday evening and had a lovely table indoors. Served immediately and ordered drinks. We had liver starter with a chicken shish and lamb chops. Everything was hot and delivered to our table with a ten minute wait. Very attentive staff who were friendly and welcoming. We visit every time we go to Ramsgate and it never fails to impress. Beautiful decor and ambience. Love it.

We have been to this restaurant many times and enjoyed the food and the experience but on the last 2 occasions (within the last 3 weeks) have found the service poor. Given menus to have no one come to take our order 20 minutes later (only 4 tables occupied and several members of staff ambling around so not overly busy) Had to call across the restaurant to get the attention of someone who ho might be happy to serve us (it was as if we were invisible) we had not been offered a drink at this point. At every stage it felt incredibly painful and we witnessed the table near us being treated the same. The 2 star rating is for the food which was delicious as always but we won’t be returning.

The food is tasty and the portions are generous. The food is freshly cooked on the spot.

Visited ALT whilst I was in Ramsgate. Very nice staff and decor of restaurant was lovely. Main course was quite slow to arrive but didn't mind because it was being cooked fresh and allowed the Turkish bread to go down. Very good bread and salad. Cocktails and mocktails were also delicious and very well presented. We also weren't asked how our food was during the course, and our salt shaker was empty so I had to flag someone down. Overall lovely food, just drops a star because it was so so loud in there no one could hear each other and mostly had to shout across a small table. There was also an overwhelming smell of smoke from the cookers which is hard to help but felt like it was getting in your throat. Would recommend and return for the lovely cooked lamb. Quite big portion sizes too which might not suit smaller eaters.

Been here once on Sunday. Had a lovely time here in our 11th anniversary. Really enjoyed this evening, loved the food and especially the hospitality. Andrii provided lovely service navigated us through the menu and recommended the best turkish dishes.

Well I've been to many turkish restaurants around the country and this is definitely in my top 3 amazing food and plenty of it too , highly recommend 5star good location too

We went to A La Turka in Ramsgate with all the family (including 3 fussy kids) and it was a great success. The kids all enjoyed their chicken shishes off of the children’s menu (they much recommend it!) Waiting staff were fantastic and friendly, food was delicious. Although quite pricey, an evening thoroughly enjoyed by the sea. Would love to go back!

Loved it.. my first time there. The service was excellent 👌.. Asked about intolerances and allergies.. He was very knowledgeable about the food and led into a wine discussion.. Fantastic host! I had lamb ribs with rice.. nice and hot and filled the plate.. Other half had chicken shish and rice and loved it.. came out with so.e hot pitta bread and a couple of dips and a bowl of salad..

One of my family favourites places..not only is the food to die for..but the service and atmosphere of this place has to be one of the best in ramsgate.. we as a family go there a lot..and I love a date night there..a must go place.

I went there alone, a staff saw me and ignored me when I walked in. They regularly checked on other tables but took ages to come to me. I might be overthinking but as the only nonwhite person there, I didn’t find it a comfortable experience as their service made me feel I was being ignored all the time, and they barely looked at my direction. They were friendly when they finally came by, but I don’t know why it always took so long. The place wasn't even half occupied. I waited incredibly long each time for them to hand me the menu, serve the dish, and provide the bill (at least 40min in total). I had to go to the bar myself to approach a staff and pay. The food was okay but overpriced, it’s even more expensive than the similar places in London.

Excellent meal with delicious vegetarian options and wonderful lamb from the charcoal grill. Service was great with exceptional attention to us from Jed Silk who was friendly attentive and fun ! We’ll be back next time we come back to Ramsgate ! We all loved the little lidded cups the coffee came in! Thank you all ! Btw save the stray dogs & cats act by preventing introduction of the new (EU-centric) act to ban them !

Nice restaurant although a little pricey. 2 chicken skewers and a cup of bulgur wheat was £21 medium glass of wine £9 I was disappointed to not get a little salad and Turkish bread with the meal

If you live in Thanet or vising and craving for some Turkish food.. This is the best one to go. Amazing food with good service. They offer meals for 2-4 person where you will get every bit of everything. It was a good exprience will go there again definitely.

We had a great time celebrating my friend birthday with the dogs. The waiters were polite and friendly. The food was delicious and the branch menu is good value for money. Highly recommended.

We got so much food for such good value and the staff (Vee and Bailey) were awesome! They even tried to help us solve the mystery of how the vulgar wheat here is so good! Massively overpriced for acceptable food and OK service.

Worst food I’ve had in a restaurant for many years. The lamb was fatty, in a bad way. The taramasalata was greasy and inedible.

Tesco's cafe at Manston is Def better value and better service. 12.50 for 2 as opposed to 70.00 Always thought we would try a visit to one of your restaurants. Today offered the chance having had to leave the Alexandra next door due to no service due to lack of staff - cheap for a reason. Off to you a few doors up. You are expensive but at your prices service should be spot on, we are seated quickly and drinks arrived and then the food.. but getting the attention of the young waitresses was a challenge they were avoiding eye contact at all costs they had the air of heavy hangovers and the last place they wanted to be was here.. we were rescued with a change of shift and we eventually managed to escape.. never to return.. & as an after thought we both ordered rice and got the other stuff and the vanilla cheesecake should not be smeared with raspberry jam.. so I guess the kitchen staff were not at 100% either.

Where do I begin , the experience we had at Ala turka on the Easter weekend was amazing. The food was incredible and portion sizes are very generous, lighting and ambience is spot on and very relaxing . The waiting staff are very attentive and friendly but our waiter Bailey made our night extra special , he was very informative and made sure we had everything we needed from the minute we arrived to when we left , we will be back soon !!

Immediately felt welcomed as we were shown to a table, early evening meal for the five of use, we had starters and a main each. The food was impeccable, perfectly seasoned , full of flavour and the meat was oh so tender. Service was friendly and personable, highlights of the dishes explained as they were set down and the bread and dips are amazing. Thoroughly recommend.

CAN NOT FAULT. I am very particular but I was so impressed with this restaurant. Everything was brilliant, came here for a birthday and there were 10 of us, we were accommodated accordingly and looked after so well. Special mention and a big mention to Rich, brilliant service, so helpful and friendly!! He checked on us multiple times and made sure everything was perfect, really impressed with his service. The food was amazing, we live in London and one of my favourite cuisines is Turkish and this definitely was up there. The only thing I found a little strange was the vegetable kebab on the platter that we weren’t allowed to change for something else. Other than that, the food was amazing, we had cold and hot meze and they were both amazing. THE CALAMARI STARTER? Cheap and such a big portion, incredible. Honestly everything was sensational. The house salad was the best Turkish salad I’ve ever had, the bread was lovely and warm and the choices on the menu were extensive. Maybe as an extra touch, the glasses for coke having a slice of lemon would’ve been nice but not the end of the world. Promote RICH. He deserves it, very impressive and made our whole experience even better. Very very good prices and a very good experience overall. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful food and lovely staff. We hadn’t booked and the restaurant was quite busy but they found us a table. The food was absolutely wonderful and plenty of it. All the staff were very helpful and attentive, particularly Kelsey. Would definitely recommend.

yesterday I went with my family to have dinner at Ăla turka Ramsgate where we were greeted by a very welcoming and attentive staff I want to mention that we sat down at the table and in the next 2 minutes one of the waiters was present for taking our order with some sensational food and fantastic drinks along with a fascinating atmosphere we had an evening to remember thank you Ala turka Ramsgate for a wonderful evening

If you enjoy genuine Turkish food, like we do, then DO NOT GO HERE! We decided to try it last night, for my birthday, as we happen to be in Ramsgate for the weekend. What a mistake. We ordered a meze 'sharing platter', supposedly for 2 people, and a side of whitebait. The meze was 20 quid (!!), so we were expecting what we get back home in London, but it was about 6 items (no exaggeration) on a little plate with a tablespoon of hummus! The whitebait was 10 quid (!) and was again about 5 or 6 fish on a tiny plate with a teaspoon of tartar sauce. What a rip off! The bill, with a bottle of wine, came to 64 quid and we left still hungry and very disappointed. In hindsight I really wish we'd have walked out and refused to pay. We will not be going here ever again, nor will we be recommending it to anyone with a similar love of genuine Turkish cuisine. From now on we'll stick with the amazing restaurants in London. It's way cheaper and you get an actual sharing platter!

All very easy to write a scathing review, but everyone is trying their best in a tough market at the moment, so will just stick to the facts My experience was ..... delivery rider arrived with no food, asking me if I'd had it? Complained to restaurant, same rider arrived 40 mins later, with half the order (we only realised after he'd left) Complained again and this time, someone came from the restaurant with the remainder of the order, another 25 mins later. Most disappointing though, the formerly sumptuously delicious dishes are now tasty, but nothing to shout about. At £26 a dish, it's not exactly cheap. If you're spending £53, with delivery & admin charges, plus a bag charge, you'd expect a better outcome. Not sure what's gone wrong with them, but hope they return to form.

Best restaurant on the kent coast bar none. Food price service is just fantastic. I drive from Gravesend every few weeks to eat here.

I went here with two friends for a well overdue catch up. The location and food were great. However almost straight after we had finished our desserts the waitress came over, we thought she was going to ask us if we wanted another drink or something else, but no she asked us if we were ready for the bill?? There were several tables still full and it wasn’t that late. We felt we were being ushered out when we wanted to talk and relax. We hadn’t been there that long either! Other than that it was great.

My husband and I had a great dinner at La Turka. The food was lovely and very generous portions. Our waitress Kelsey was very attentive and made the experience that much better!

The experience was so good I wanted to write a review,the waiter and waitress who served us were amazing,the food was delicious and plentiful and the restaurant itself very pretty, if in Ramsgate again we would definitely go again Five stars for everything

We visited for my partners birthday meal and were really impressed. The food was gorgeous, the portion sizes more than generous and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. They gave us a complimentary desert as a birthday treat which was a really nice touch. I'd definitely recommend a visit!

Woeful, 2 chops, a few wings, chewy ribs, half an onion, half a tomato and a bit of rice. A small plate of poor quality hummus and taramasalata with a few pieces of pitta bread. We were very disappointed! The one men’s toilet didn’t flush, no soap and rubbish everywhere. This place is very poor.

Had an excellent meal here. Portions aren't big but it's very tasty food. The deserts were also amazing. Service was a bit slow as they had a large party there as well as a full restaurant, hence it was very noisy too. It didn't spoil our evening though as the windows also offer stunning views of the harbour. It gets a solid 4 from me!

Popped in with a 4 year old but had forgotten it’s Xmas party season! The place was so busy but Kelsey our waitress was brilliant. So attentive to my son. She has served us before and she remembered. Very friendly and professional. The food was great as always but it was her service that made it such an easy trip with my son and memorable. We will be back thanks to her.

7 of us came late on a Thursday night and we were accommodated easily and had a lovely meal with excellent service from Kelsey. On a bleak December evening it was a cheerful oasis - we had a great time and many bottles of wine.
