Gorgeous hotel, so cosy and inviting during a rainy weekend in Margate. The restaurant food looked wonderful and cocktails were fabulous. Thank you!

My wife and I stayed here one night with our frenchie. The room was very tasteful, exceptionally clean and the staff were very welcoming, particularly of the dog. We were even given a free upgrade! My only feedback is that the walls felt a little thin as we could definitely hear quiet conversations in adjacent rooms. Breakfast was great, location fantastic and the Virgin Mary was perfectly spicy 🌶️

We had a really lovely stay at the Fort Road Hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed, thoughtful, and stylish without being over the top. We didn’t have a sea view room, but it didn’t matter. It still felt cosy and well put together. The building has been restored with real care, managing to feel modern while keeping its original charm. The staff were friendly and helpful in a laid-back, relaxed way, which made the whole place feel very welcoming. It’s a fantastic spot, and we’d definitely stay again.

We stayed for one night and have a great time at Fort Road Hotel. Staff were lovely- really friendly and attentive but not over the top. The rooms were beautifully done- super comfortable beds, big bathroom and beautiful artwork and lighting. Delicious breakfast included and a fun downstairs bar. Perfect little hotel!

I recently stayed here with my partner and our little dog and I really couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We were in the suite (just above the Fort Road Hotel Sign) and not only was it immaculately clean, it was cosy and quiet; the room was kitted out with everything you’d need. Little restaurant and bar in the hotel were fabulous, fresh sea food and cocktails were wonderful! Staff even provided our dog with a little dog bed: even the little touches of fresh cookies, juices and oat milk in the fridge was just spot on! Definitely would stay here again. Perfect for a romantic getaway in Margate for sure.

The Fort Rd Hotel hosted our wedding reception and really exceeded our expectations in every way.....we already knew the building itself would be a very stylish and beautiful space for our big day, but we could not have anticipated the warmth and excellent service from the staff team from start to finish! The food we already knew was excellent, but we did not anticipate it remaining so exceptional despite catering for the large number guests. The day went brilliantly, Fred and his team managed everything smoothly - even down to consoling our cake maker when our chocolate wedding cake had melted in her car! Hotel staff consoled her and she really appreciated their help and support. The day could honestly not have gone any better, we will remember the warmth and professionalism of the Fort Road for years to come and will come back....maybe for our anniversary! Anyone considering a Margate wedding? We thoroughly recommend this beautiful and friendly venue ❤️

Beautiful tapas in a cosy, relaxed setting. Service could not have been any better, our server provided great advice and had a laugh with us. Very good value for money. A must if you are visiting Margate.

Really lovely place to stay , the attention to detail in the room from the choice to tea bags to the incredibly comfortable bed made all the difference. Friendly and helpful staff and a very good breakfast of poached eggs and yogurt I’ll be trying to replicate at home .

We had a wonderful stay! Highly recommend. Even the Cosy rooms are very comfortable. Lovely bedding and decor, the staff are friendly and the restaurant offers lovely food. Location is perfect for the Turner Contemporary but also a great start walking into town so not to miss anything. I would definitely book again.

Gorgeous hotel and super friendly staff - so accommodating when I made a mistake with the booking. Amazing local art and detail in the room and the perfect spot outside for a sunny pint or cocktail. Also the best fry up of our lives. Thank you!

Smart but relaxed setting. Lovely location opposite the Turner Contemporary. Selection of Spanish / Mediterranean small plates, all full of flavour while still well-balanced. Interesting wines. Cocktails! Staff are considerate, welcoming and knowledgeable. Visitors down from London find it reasonably priced as a smart dining option. A fantastic addition to what Margate has to offer. Would love to come back to see what’s on the Specials board next time.

We enjoyed our light evening meals at Colina. Food was of good quality, properly cooked, and nicely presented. It's a tapas-like menu, and as vegetarians we found enough to satisfy us. Wines were good. Unlike some other reviewers we didn't think it particularly expensive, and the setting was nice.

There are not many restaurants other the usual fish and chip and bar food establishments open on a Sunday in Margate. Colina looked promising being a modern tapas restaurant boasting a celebrity chef influences. We were the only diners for a late Sunday lunch. We ordered seven plates and a bottle of wine. The tapas dishes were all passable but lacked any real taste and were served all at once. There was nothing you could send back but also nothing exciting. The bill for two was £105 so not great value. I hope this review encourages them to up their game.

We took a Superior King with a sea view and saw the sun set behind a gleaming lighthouse from the bed, easily the comfiest I have slept in, plushly dressed in enveloping white. A truly beautiful bathroom, too, and a bay window almost deep enough to serve as a second room. We absolutely shall, and must, return.

A Delightful Taste of Turkey at A La Turka Ramsgate A La Turka Ramsgate offers a truly authentic and unforgettable dining experience that captures the heart and soul of Turkish cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm welcome and a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the rich culture and hospitality of Turkey. The menu is extensive, featuring a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. We started with a selection of mezze, and every bite was a burst of flavor. The hummus was silky smooth, the stuffed vine leaves were perfectly seasoned, and the grilled halloumi was a standout. For the main course, the mixed grill was exceptional. The meats were tender, juicy, and expertly charred, with the lamb kofte being a personal favorite. The accompanying rice and salad were fresh and perfectly balanced the richness of the meat. Dessert was the perfect finishing touch. The baklava was flaky, sweet, and paired beautifully with a traditional Turkish coffee. The service was impeccable – friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with warm lighting and a cozy ambiance that makes it perfect for a relaxed evening out. A La Turka Ramsgate is a gem of a restaurant that delivers an authentic and memorable Turkish dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of Mediterranean cuisine or just looking for something new, this place is a must-visit.

We’ve just eaten an absolutely delicious meal from the Greek Arch. Amazing gigantes, brilliant chicken and pork kebabs with all the trimmings followed by yummy baklava. Wish we had such a great Greek restaurant in our neighbourhood!
