Best food in Birchington and very profesinal chef and waiting staff

My wife and I and brother in law, Keith, had a lovely roast lunch here on Tuesday 23 July. Keith lives in Birchington and recommended it as a great new restaurant. And it is. The staff are so friendly and the roast dinners were superb, also the huge and delicious ice cream banana milk shakes. The prices are really good value for money too. Good service, food ( a huge variety of it) and good prices - what’s not to like. I hope this splendid place prospers, it deserves to.

Amazing restaurant, the new owners really know how to cook, went with my family and throughout the night they made sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. 100% recommended

Frozen Falafel, supermarket bought salad leaves with lack of dressing and authenticity. Service is lacking and food overall was average. Many better places to eat within a 1 mile radius

honestly the best pizza, it was a great size for the cost, had lots of meat on and a good amount of cheese. It was hot when delivered and not greasy at all just perfect. Definately our new go to place!

I booked a table on a Sunday at 6 pm For a late valentine meal for me and my Wife . We had never been here before .the Owner met us at the door We sat and ordered. Just mains I had the Adana Kebab and my wife had the felafel All washed down with efes beer We watched our food being prepared and cooked and we thoroughly enjoyed. The whole experience and will be going again

2nd time eating here. The staff, food and general atmosphere make it very welcoming. The waiter was very attentive and even taught us a bit of Turkish. Would highly recommend eating here.

Went last night for Valentines day and as we entered was greeted with a rose and glass of champagne. The service was amazing and the food was the best Turkish meal we have ever had. The flavours were amazing and plenty of it. It was a set menu for £35.00 pp and worth every penny. The friendly service you receive is fab. Definately going again soon! Their casseroles are to die for!!!!!

We had booked a table for Valentines, sat down with drinks and was told it was a set menu and that we couldn’t pick anything else from the menu. Which we were not told on booking on the phone or on arrival, and costing £35pp instead of us being able to order a platter consisting of the same food for £45 total. We then waited 45 minutes to get our cold mezze with bread and a few dips, Next, when we’re given our plates, I found a small curly hair on my plate, of which I ignored due to having our evening already being disturbed by the price and wait, by this point it was 8pm and we were hungry. when the mains were being cooked the restaurant was filled with smoke and my eyes were watering and burning. After another 30 minutes we were served our main, in the lamb kofte I pulled out a long hair AGAIN which really put us off our food. The main was greasy, with no flavour and we decided to talk to the waitress. She responded when we complained that she was the best waitress in town and was extremely angry that we would even think of complaining. She phoned her manager who would only offer us 20% off our bill, which came to £78-80 for one turkish platter and three efes bottles! Again, which is not the accurate prices on the menu, so we were overcharged. When it came to us paying the waitress got extremely agitated waving around the card machine as a joke to which my partner was getting extremely frustrated with, she then became heated and spiteful and when we tried to leave chased us out the restaurant shouting and swearing at us in the street!! Where my partner was then forced to pay £50 for some cold dips and 1 hot mezze and three beers, absolute joke of a place. We left the restaurant after 2 hours of being seated when the mains finally arrived. The service in the end was disgusting and the way this woman has made us feel is a disgrace. We will never return to this one star joke.

Went for valentines Restaurant was nicely decorated ladies were given roses, heart chocolates on the tables, great price for set menu. Service was pretty fast, food it self was tasty. Owner of the restaurant is amazing , approachable humble man and informative . Definitely goes extra mile to make his customers feel comfortable. Waiter was great, efficient polite and informative. over all great lady with willingness to serve . I would highly recommend family friendly, great for lunch and late dinners .

We ordered a takeaway after reading some great reviews - the platter for 2 and it is amazing value! It did dinner for 2 nights and really lovely. Thankyou

A little disappointed tonight. I ordered a mixed kebab which was listed under the lamb doner meat and chips, chicken doner meat and chips and ribs and chips. So assuming it was a mix lamb and chicken doner, that's what I ordered. It didnt list what was in it. When it came, it was chunks of three different meats, which I wouldnt usually have picked.

Nice decent restaurant. Been here many times. Visited again recently. Menu price has gone up of which I don't blame them as living crisis is pretty tough right now. Only problem is, price has gone up and their portion size has gone down by alot! Only 5 pieces of lamb with the lamb sarma beyti. I get this dish all the time and didn't expect such small portion. Its only a 3 Starr coz of portion size otherwise the food has always been nice here

Just a perfect place to eat with friends. food is good and plenty of it. The service is amazing very attentive without being in your face. And amazingly good value. Been twice in the last month and each time have been impressed.

Food was lovely, but the portions were far too big!! We ended up wasting half because it was too big, was a shame.

We visited the restaurant for the second time in the past two months. Staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you get what you like with food and drinks. The food was very enjoyable that's why we visited for the second time. We had a couple of cocktails which were delicious and we will go again.

First impressions last. Ordered a takeaway chicken in yoghurt kebab at £17+. Venue looked great, dishes going to the table looked amazing value. Opening our foil container and it was almost all bread. Should either change the name of the dish to bread in yogurt with a bit of chicken garnish, or put more of the primary named ingredient in. Calling them back is just as fruitless as it’s perm engaged but it is Saturday. Perhaps Saturdays is con the takeaway customers day. Doubtful will ever use again or go in based on this. Service and atmos was ok, but food a huge let down.

What a great experience. We had the platter and there was so much food. It was delicious and we would highly recommend trying this place.

We spent a lovely evening at this very friendly restaurant. Definitely a great addition to the high street. We could have done with an extra table-serving assistant but the lady who was serving did a fabulous job. The pricing was very fair and we will go to this restaurant again. (Need to work on their fridges as the white wine was not very cold and needed the addition of ice).

The bread is nice but that’s about it. We had a chicken donner with salad and it definitely wasn’t a large the pot wasn’t even full and the salad was so basic and has a weird sauce in a separate pot not like it should be the it piled on with red cabbage, lettuce and onion plus the meat wasn’t very nice and fatty. We also had a combination kebab that was the smallest portion I’ve ever seen more of a side side with one bit if kofte and four bits of chicken. Never thought I would be disappointed with a kebab and this was not a kebab.

The ice cream is half cream and half icey slush, £3.10 for a dry slice of fudge cake

Personally I've never rated this place but since the Pistachio disappeared we've resorted to using Turkvaz for takeaways. Having had pizzas the last two times which unfortunately were extremely greasy and oily we decided to try the hot mezze for two. Mistakingly I misread the menu admittedly, but when we got our mezze we were disgusted with what we got for £12.95. If this had been served at the table eating in, I would have sent it back straight away. When we bit into the lamb pastry rolls we had to spit them out as they tasted completely off and for my wife to say that, it must have been off. The falafel was obviously frozen as they were shaped like ice hockey pucks. Overall probably the worst take away we have ever had. As for the cheesy chips, who the hell uses cheap and nasty mozzarella that sets like silicone?

Grabbed some food from here while visiting Kent for a couple of days, really delicious food. We had a mixed meze. It was all delicious with really tender meat. Shame we're not local as we would love to return to eat again. Service great and friendly.

6 of us went hear without booking the gentleman there did his best and put a table together for us ,the food was fantastic and the price was also very good ,thanks to all the staff who made our evening a very special one

Booked this Gem of a Restaurant last night for the first time since so call Freedom Day , took the Mrs, My Brother and his wife , As I said last time, from the moment you walk in , the owners and Staff make you welcomed and so Relaxed, As for the Food , all I can say is it was Amazing , the portions are huge , I promise you, You won’t be disappointed Thank you so much .

Used Turkvas for the 1st time yesterday, trying to support local business. Very disappointed with the food, we ordered 2 hots mezes which both arrived luke warm with a shrivelled salad in each, clearly not freshly prepared. The portions were also small and overpriced. Never again Turkvas, you've lost us. Merkmiedes at the walmer castle offers better food, freshly prepared at a cheaper price.

rang up made a Regular order told payment was card Machine when came no card machine so had to ring amd pay over the phone qhen opening the order not what I ordered and no Salad and sources which is what I habe had when ordered spoke to some.one ment to be sending out it all out fresh when I got it bear in mind waiting another 40 minutes only sent out the one thing that was missing When when the rest of food was stone cold And was told to warm it up in the Microwave was told the Manager was growing you back but did not so I rang them And then I could he in the background the manager telling the person on the phone what to tell me That there be happy to collect the food and i would have to wait 7 days for the money to go back on my card Very poor management and very poor service will not be used and these again And going to be l Deliveringt he cold food back to them tomorrow and speaking to my bank

Ordered for collection, several items missing from the order. The staff member who answered the phone offered to deliver the missing items, but unfortunately the food we had was already tepid, and would have been cold by the time the missing items arrived. We told them we’d return the food we had and were happy with fresh food. First of all the staff member I spoke to started to relay the message to her manager. So I asked to speak directly to the manager, who told the staff member to pretend to be her. When I realised I was still not speaking to the manager, I asked to speak to her again. She subsequently joined the call, said the mistake was not her fault, and even if she rang the owner they would not agree to what I was requesting. Several times during the exchange she referred to me my saying ‘listen here darling!’. All in all food not warm enough, an evening we were looking forward to ruined, and customer service is shocking. Swerve at all costs!

Well I was surprised.2 x of the best ever Calzone's we have ever had. Delicious and full to the edge with delicious ingredients. Ordered by Just Eat and was delivered very promptly at a prime time (7pm on a Saturday) by one of the restaurant's own staff.This was really great value food and made us so happy. Well done Turkuaz.One small observation: can you write on the box which one is which because my wife ate mine and it was so good that she would not give it back to me.Ordering again next week.Chris Birchington

Super mix of Turkish and Pizza! Family of 4, one calzone, one pizza and 2 kebabs/grills. We collected a takeaway but they do have dine in (and also deliver). Grills were very tasty, not at all greasy, all good. Pizza (14") was excellent and the calzone too. Good prices.

Very good Turkish restaurant, clean, and friendly staff

My husband and I sat watching the sunset over Minnis Bay, whilst enjoying a takeaway of chicken shish in pitta with salad. The chicken and pitta were so flavoursome and hot and the salad was very tasty, finely chopped with added herbs and lemon juice. Delicious!

Our family was visiting the area from London when we decided to book a meal in this restaurant. I’m very glad we did. The restaurant is appealingly decorated and spotlessly clean . The owner and staff were friendly and very helpful - but the jewel in the crown is the food. It was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented, and very reasonably priced.We will definitely use this beautiful restaurant again when in the area.

Nice surroundings and attentive service. Food a bit bland and at best average. I think they will have to up their game a tad. Not rushing to go back.

We eat here almost every week as the service and the food is lovely. You should try the chicken soup - it is so lovely. I ask them to make mine a little spicier which they do not hesitate to do. The chicken casserole with cheese is my favorite too.

3rd visit here , first time at a weekend but always found the staff great and food tasty so seemed ideal for Valentine's as didn't want somewhere too crowded We wasn't disappointed , a glass of prosecco on the house for each of us when we arrived , red rose on the table for the ladies(even though we decided not to stick to the Valentine's offer ) staff were brilliantFood was outstanding and a box of milk tray for the ladies when they left I thought this was a lovely touch and very much appreciated

Interior is nice and staff attentive. Starters average quality, the hummus was good. Mix grill looked nice when it came out but tasted bland with no flavour in the meats, the rice was dry, not nice at all. Overall, nothing special, had better Turkish before.

First time I have had eaten Turkish food and I enjoyed my meal very much. The vegetarian dish I had was tasty and you could tell it was freshly cooked. The service was brilliant too. Although it was slightly on the high side, you don't mind paying that price as the food is lovely. Cost us £83 for 3 adults with a drink each and pudding. Would recommend

Brilliant service from from the waiting staff and manager really makes every guest feel special. The outstanding Turkish flavours and heart portions make for an amazing meal.

We had a delivery (on time and friendly) of a few hot and cold maze plates to celebrate a birthday. It's the first time I've had food from Turkvav and we were not disappointed, I'd go as far to say that it was hands down the best "take out" food that I've eaten in years. As a veggie I was pleased to have some interesting options and the salad and bread that were provided with our dishes were generously portioned and tasty. My highlights were probably the Yaprak Sarma and the Turkish bread/pide, my companion particularly loved her Kavurma. I will look forward to eating more from Turkvas next time I'm in the area, do eat there if you get the opportunity.

After hearing so many good things locally about Turkvaz we had to give it a try for my Nan's birthday - what a treat! The food was delicious and the staff were brilliantly attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend the set menu we had - so much delicious food and totally worth the price! We've even had the menu as a takeaway and I can honestly say it was probably the best turkish takeaway I've ever had! You can tell it was all fresh cooked and the flavour was unreal! BIG FAN!

Been away for 8 months, straight back to area and straight back to Turkvaz...Fabulous food, ambience and staff Lamb Sarma Beyti in pic is lovely, Baklava better than anywhere and Cankaya Turkish Wine is my favourite and I only drink dry white....... and as for the salads with pomegranate dressing and the Turkish breads Can't go wrong with Turkvaz !...
