The best restaurants serving Italian food in North West

We had a group of six and when we arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon, it was nearly empty. We had no reservation but decided to try it based upon other favorable reviews. The staff sat us in a corner near a door on a very wet & chilly Liverpool afternoon. A few of the ladies were cold and when we asked to be moved, the female employee was not receptive to our request. Smile a little, you work in the service industry. After finally being moved to a warmer part of the restaurant and ordering, the pizzas arrived completely black and burnt on the bottom of the crust. We said something to the waiter and asked him to tell the chef, but he just laughed it off as if we were joking. Another member of our group ordered the Risotto which she said was bland and dried out, almost to the point of being inedible. She only ate a very small part of it. None of us would return to this restaurant. There are too many other options in Liverpool and if the weather was better on this day we might have ended up somewhere diferent.

Guy who greeted us was lovely and seemed to do everything! Food choice adequate. Ambience clean, but lacking in atmosphere. Food dry and bland, lack of sauce with all the meals, no hint of fresh food ingredients. I can make better at home. Will not be back or recommend

We stumbled upon this place in a rush before going to a gig at The Mechanics, what an wonderful surprise when we went inside. Beautiful decor and the staff were so attentive. We both ordered the Sunday roast beef which was the most beautiful roast dinner we have ever had! Such a shame we had to rush it as we were late for the gig. We will definitely travel back from Yorkshire to come back.

Didn’t bring my brownies and doughballs were cold

Have been a few times and enjoyed the food and service. Went for anniversary. Food was okay paid the service charge happily, however was slightly disappointed with no reference to a celebration when I listed it on the booking.

The starters were ok but the mains were absolutely heinous. I didn't have high hopes so kept it simple with spag bol as you can't go wrong with that... I'm pretty certain it was pasta and tomato puree and nothing else. I really don't believe a professional chef cooked it there's no way. The waitress asked how the food was and I said it was awful. She mentioned bringing a manager but none ever appeared. Won't be going back and can't believe I had to pay what isn't a small amount of money for that meal.

My fiancé and I visited Ballaro's on Monday evening and, while originally sitting outside, we decided to go inside because the sun was setting. Although there were plenty of customers there eating, the staff tended to us very quickly and took our drinks order, and returned with them almost immediately. We ordered a pizza to share, then my partner ordered Simone's Special Cheeseburger, and I got the seafood risotto. The pizza was great and my fiancé really enjoyed his cheeseburger, but I didn't like the seafood risotto so much. When the staff came over shortly thereafter to ask us if everything was ok, the man noticed I hadn't eaten much of the risotto and asked if I didn't like it. When I explained that I wasn't too keen on it, he told me he'd take it away, replace it with something else and cancel it from the bill. I then ordered the lasagne, which he brought to us quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We drank a few glasses of wine each, which were all really nice and well priced, and we both had a Pina Colada, which were absolutely brilliant. The food was great, but the service is what shone the most. The staff were all friendly and funny, but also incredibly attentive and accommodating. We will definitely be back there again soon.

We specifically called the restaurant to confirm if the pizza we wanted had tomato sauce and cheese, which they confirmed, but when it arrived it was undercooked and had no tomato sauce at all. Just unprofessional and disappointing really.

Fabulous surroundings Fabulous food Fabulous staff .. need i say more. From walking in to walking our the whole experience was amazing.. why have I never been before????

No como esperábamos... en primer lugar para un sábado por la noche esperábamos que el lugar estuviera ocupado pero tenían una balsa de mesas vacías, cuando nos acomodaron a nuestra mesa nos dieron los menús. Otra alarma sonó ya que tenían tantos platos para elegir. Nunca una buena señal Optamos por compartir un pan de ajo y tomate. Era insípido, sin ajo, una capa extremadamente delgada de puré de tomate y poco cocido. La mitad se remonta. Plato principal - optó por un favorito italiano aparentemente - Spaghetti Bolognese. Promedio en el mejor de los casos. Sin condimento, espaguetis al lado del denti, de nuevo la mayor parte quedó. El restaurante necesita un cambio completo. Pierde el 80 % de los platos para que tu chef pueda concentrarse en un menú más pequeño y apetitoso. Decoración muy anticuada, mesas a las que se adhieren sus brazos, demasiado personal de menú para tan pocos clientes. No volveremos a visitar. Decepcionado.

Made to feel welcome drone the moment we set foot through the door. Very attentive and friendly. Children’s meals are a smaller version of the main menu . Which makes a pleasant change .

Food nice but some portions not quite enough. The meatballs starter could do with having a bit of bread with it. The roast potatoes as a side with the steak was very disappointing in size. The tiniest 4 potatoes, don’t think they would feed a child. When you’re paying £25 for the meal, a few more would be nice, considering how cheap potatoes are.

Fantastic place , probably the best chicken Greek salad I ever had .. waiter was super friendly .. beautiful
