La Dolce Vita Restaurant in Stockport

This used to be our pre cinema restaurant, we booked a table for 4 for 5.30, we ordered pre meal drinks, at 6.20 we ordered our meal, my wife fancied a dish on the smaller menu only to be told by the abrupt waitress that the smaller menu ended at 6pm and that there where notices displayed saying so, from our table we could not see one notification ito inform us of that, why not just print this on the smaller menu or remove the smaller menu from the table at 6pm our bill of £141 pound arrived and we where not aware that a 10% staff tip was involved, luckily we picked up on this and asked for a revised bill, we still left a cash tip for the nice younger waitress, who was excellent, our next and future pre cinema meals will be had further down Stockport road,

Incredible food and prices. By far the best restaurant in Marple

Lovely food, the friendly staff can never do enough to help. Prices are average, and the menu is varied with everything you'd expect in an Italian restaurant. The cocktails are the best in the area. Maria always looks after us very well. I have never had a bad experience in this restaurant.

I didn't complain on the night,as I didn't want to spoil my granddaughters birthday ,there were 13 of us,and it was very very busy,so I understand the pitfalls of trying to manage things. But the meals were miserly,the carbonara was disgusting,just stirred up pasta,no sauce,the Bolognese same, surely it wasn't a professional chef that cooked any of our dishes,we ate it,purly because we d waited 1 and half hours for our meals,and we were starving. I always use my feet when complaining,and that is,never return

Amazing .... Went on Friday for my birthday as I love the food here and it's always busy so book a table! Been coming here for special occasions for years. Fab staff!

We tried this as a local Italian, food was amazing and fresh. For the price I felt it was very good. Service was great, so friendly and welcoming. We were shocked that it was so busy for a week night, which was great. The decor is a little bit worn but the other areas make up for this!

It’s usually our go to pre cinema as it is handy and the food has been good. Sadly this time it was not as good as previously experienced. They seem to be using a pre-made base for garlic bread which was always really tasty but the last couple of times it has been tasteless and dry. Food was ok but prices have increased but that isn’t their fault as food prices have increased in general. Will I go again? Possibly not as been disappointed twice now

Fab local restaurant, great food and service

Around 15-20 years ago this used to be an excellent restaurant, the food and atmosphere were exceptional and we were regular visitors, however, nothing ever lasts and about 10 years ago it went down hill and we eventually stopped going. Since then we have been back 2 or 3 times, our most recent visit this last week. What can I say, the food was okay without being great, granted the service was good but the atmosphere was underwhelming and I thought the prices were high for what we had, the real kicker being a 10 percent service charge. Did we get value for money, certainly not and we won't be rushing back which is a great shame as we used to love this place but there are other establishments close by that are in our opinion better value.

We arrived last minute before the cinema. Downstairs was so busy. We thought we'd no chance of a table but they quickly found us one upstairs. They realised customers were going to the cinema and did all they could to get the food out

Fantastic restaurant with a modern design, lighting is not shining in your face, the food is fantastic the ribs are a must. The food will have your tongue dancing in your mouth, the pairing of flavours will leave you wanting more. If one change could be made it would be to move to more authentic recipes for meals i.e no cream in the carbonara or the pizzas being thinner(bit on the bready side) with a 3 day ferment pizza dough.

We went for a birthday meal last night I can’t recommend this place enough, it was a great evening, the food was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough, I highly recommend this place if you want superb food with a great atmosphere give this place a try.

The best meal me and my partner have had in a while whilst dining out. Everything so tasty would definitely return. My favorite Italian restaurant so far.

The service was good, but to make a Pollo Valdostana with Mozzarella is not really Italian. The chicken was barely warm, really dry and left half of it. The vegetables accompanying it had seen better days, especially the asparagus. The mixed salad came without any condiment and weren't even asked if we wanted any. All in all, not a very pleasant experience.

The pizza did not resemble or taste like authentic Italian cuisine. The dough was similar to a greasy bloomer bread. I’m very disappointed.

Fantastic service, enjoyed the coffee.

We hired the upstairs space for a large family meal for a birthday. It was perfect as we were able to decorate the space and have our own music on. We pre ordered all our food and everything was served perfectly as requested. The food was delicious as always and the service was excellent. The staff were so accommodating and brilliant with the younger children we had with us. We had a wonderful evening and the team at Dolce Vita were so helpful throughout.

My husband and I had an enjoyable meal here. The food was flavoursome, presented well and good portion sizes. The mushroom starter in particular was delicious. The service was very good - lovely helpful waitresses. All in all a good restaurant and I’d return.

Came for a meal lovely service asked the waiter his name dax was a polite young boy made sure we were always happy with our food and very observant on everything we will be returning due to the lovely food and staff.

Although we live in Marple, we haven’t been in the restaurant for years. We thought we’d give it another try. The bar staff were lovely. They found us a table straight away, which was really good as we hadn’t booked. In Italian restaurants, we always order a tomato and garlic bread and drinks whilst we decide on our starters and mains. We tried to order the bread to be told we couldn’t have it, we had to order everything at the same time. We didn’t get to try the food, I picked my bag up and left the table. We went back to the bar area to finish our drinks. I informed the lady behind the bar, that we won’t be eating. I don’t care how busy the kitchen maybe, I thought garlic bread for an Italian restaurant would be on speed dial and not an inconvenience to plate up. So I have to assume it was the lazy staff member that has let the restaurant down. The bar lady kindly came over and said she had told the manger, but that was the end of our last try and final experience of trying to dine at La Dolce Vita. I refuse to be ‘told’ when’I’can eat!

Went here for lunch today. The food was delicious and a great lunch deal. The pasta dishes were tasty, garlic bread soft and proper chippy chips. Made to feel very welcome with our two toddlers. Would recommend

Brilliant place, but the environment is very noisy so conversation difficult.

The young woman at the bar when we arrived without a reservation..went to ask her mum if they could fit us in..her dad was cooking in the kitchen and the excellent man who took our order she.told us later is her dad's friend..."a lovely man"..and he was! Well they found us a table in the bar ..helped us order ..have.a bowl of olives with delicious fresh garlic bread and a main course of good tasty Italian food...home cooking...all- in the space of an hour so that we could go to the period cinema over the road to watch "Ferrari".!!! It made a lovely improntu Italian night out! We are planning to go again ...but this time make a reservation and stay a bit longer....

Myself and my family have been going to the Dolce Vita for over 30 years. It is a family run restaurant with fabulous staff and lovely food. It is an authentic Italian restaurant and supports the local community. We are lucky to have such an established amazing restaurant in Marple.

Fabulous place and super staff. Please ignore the nasty comments regarding Sunak having coffee there. There is nothing political about it. The PM has been touring the area and surrounding areas and has frequented many pubs/bars. It is by no means a political issue. Keep up the good work Maria and co, we all love you! ♥️

This is a fabulous, authentic, Italian restaurant at the heart of the village. Beautiful steaks, pasta and of course pizza, my favourite is the inferno! Maria and the team are on hand to maximise your dining pleasure. I highly recommend this family run restaurant. They also do an early bird special in the week so ideal for pre cinema dining 🍽 🩵🩵

Have been going to La Dolce Vita for many years, celebrating birthdays, reunions and holidays there. Always found the food to be great quality and the service friendly, warm and attentive. A family run restaurant that delivers to incredibly high standards, has come in for unfair criticism due to the PM showing up there for an unannounced meeting. Look at the ratings prior to his visit for a fairer view of this great establishment. Hating him is fine, him and his mates have destroyed the country but don’t let him destroy this business. In hard times we should be supporting local businesses and this is a stand out one.

Love this place. The food and drink have always been good quality and value for money. I’d recommend it to anyone. Never had a below par experience in 17 years. The staff are always welcoming and cheerful and very family friendly. continua così!

I have been going to this family run restaurant for over 30 years. Maria and her staff are professional, friendly and always welcoming, and will happily accommodate personal food preferences or requests. The food is authentic and cooked fresh on the premises. There is an excellent food menu and a varied selection of drinks to choose from. Reasonably priced and great atmosphere. They are also a big supporter of local charities, contributing to the community in more ways than one. We have not had a bad meal here in all these years and would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

I’ve enjoyed meals at La Dolce Vita for as long as I can remember, good varied menu and a really nice atmosphere. I’ve been for many meals as a large party and they always manage really well. It’s also great for an evening out for drinks.

I’ve been going to Dolce Vita for years and years. I’ve never had an issue with the quality of food or service. They serve a handful of my favourite dishes and I love eating there or even getting a takeaway. I have always, always been greated with the kindest and most generous staff who genuinely seem so appreciative of you even just dining with them or popping in for a drink. Marple wouldn’t be the same without them!

Went last night having booked, were seated in the bar area with people drinking so we were out of the main restaurant. Totally ignored us so we had to ask to order. My lasagne was a stack of the pasta sheets in the centre of a pool of bolognaise. It’s supposed to be layered! The pasta sheets had stuck together. It was awful! Clearly could not be bothered to assemble a proper lasagne. Hubby’s chicken pasta was cold. Couldn’t complain as nobody approached us for the whole meal. Paid and left in under an hour. Wont go back

I've been here a few times and the service has always been great. The avarage rating is 4.3 stars at the time of writing and that's after they got a load of hate for Rishi eating there so to still have a high rating shows most people have had a great experience. Some people are unhappy that they let Rishi eat there and I really dislike him but I'm not going to give a tiny independent restaurant in Marple any hate for the actions of some idiot down in Parliament

Absolutely the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Microwaved food that still managed to be cold. Very rude staff and they tried to overcharge me for the experience!!

We booked Dolche Vita for a surprise meal for my mum. We had a table for 18 upstairs. The room was perfect for a large group. It felt nice and personal and the staff were very friendly and accommodating and it was well organised with our pre order. We all had two courses and the food was lovely. Would highly recommend coming here for a meal and definitely for a large booking for a special occasion. Thanks so much to the team at Dolche Vita for a lovely evening.

We’ve have eaten here on many occasions and always had an excellent meal. The staff are attentive and the food is reasonable priced and consistently good. The restaurant is modern and clean.

Called for meal before cinema, excellent food and the service efficient and friendly

Food was lovely but the atmosphere and customer service was shocking as there was a couple arguing next to us swearing but the staff just ignored as they were paying for the food and drinks. If it was my first time coming here I would definitely not return again. When I spoke to the member of staff as we were paying he wasn’t bothered with our complaint and further chose to ignore the situation.

Only gave 4 stars for the atmosphere, as to me...it seemed strange to be playing Bob Marley etc in an Italian restaurant?? Service excellent, food great, will definitely be back ( hopefully with some traditional music playing)

I ordered vegetarian cannelloni - got the meat version. I'm not vegetarian but wouldn't have eaten the meat cannelloni anyway - looked very grey and unappetising. The meal was replaced but everyone else had finished theirs. Also, although the waiter apologised (it wasn't his fault) no adjustment was made to the bill or anything offered to compensate for the really bad mistake.

Fantastic food accompanied with brilliant service

Beautiful meal as always after a 3 year time away. We used to be moored here and called often, but left 3 years ago to Runcorn. I'm doing the Cheshire ring and had to call in and have a meal. We were not disappointed it was a beautiful meal, and lovely staff all as we remembered. Well, it's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Abit disappointing this time. Majority of staff look like they dont enjoy their job. The place seems to have lost its buzzing atmosphere. Main course the carbonara was lacking taste it was a bowl of spaghetti with pancetta hardly any sauce. Cant fault the starter and dessert. Not sure if i would go back.

Food was pretty bad for an Italian. we had the lasagne and it was very sloppy, garlic bread was lacking garlic oddly. Not particularly expensive but the decor is dated and we were sat by the disabled toilet the lights were turned off giving a dark ambiance. Service was really poor. Served by a male who seemed fed up and didn't wasn't to talk, smile or even make eye contact. Sadly, I would not return.

Nothing Authentic in a true Italian way the food is a poor attempt for Italian cooking and Expensive.
