Piccolino - Bramhall in Stockport

The interior and the service was very promising, but having ordered two different types of paella, we were a bit disappointed. As a result, even very small portions remained unfinished. I really hope that pizza and pasta are better there. Updated: Hello! Thank you for your response. I definitely ordered the seafood paella — I remember it clearly. My companion also had a paella, possibly with mushrooms. We both ordered these dishes directly from the men u, so they were definitely available at the time of our visit on April 13, 2025. The atmosphere and service were excellent, but unfortunately, the paella itself didn’t quite meet our expectations. Thank you for taking the time to follow up on guest feedback!

What a lovely meal we had here (Sunday lunch) Everything about it was just superb! Francesco is a valuable asset to the place and such a nice man. Oh and the front bit (the terrace) is dog friendly so what a pleasant afternoon we had with our four legged friend. We will be back soon.

Always lovely service and nice range of classic and modernised Italian dishes. Great wine selection and lovely staff without exception. The menu is good across starters, mains and desserts but if you can’t face all 3 (or have kids with you) I’d highly recommend the selection of ice creams served in 3 scoops with various flavour options.

Francesco was absolutely incredible, made my partners 30th the best birthday so far - made us laugh, took great care of us and made us feel really really special - thank you for a great night!!

Went as a group of 6 to celebrate a family birthday and Piccolino was the perfect choice. Francesco was brilliant - such a warm & welcoming man. Took our orders promptly. He made sure to note which of us was gluten-intolerant. Encouraged my kids when they were trying to speak Italian. Service was impeccable. We sat in the “outdoor” terrace area which has stylish booth seating & was so cosy, despite being February. The food was amazing. Even the children’s food was beautifully presented and faithfully Italian. Chateaubriand was the best steak my husband & I have ever had - melt in the mouth. Do leave room for dessert - the passion fruit panna cotta & tortino al cioccolato were exceptional.

PICCOLINO BRAMHALL 👀 Do not make this your restaurant ⚠️ AVOID ⚠️ If you are seeing this before you go (actually don't go) in, good job. You are wiser than I was. I should have checked reviews first‼️ ⚠️ LIVE CENTIPEDE in Pasta, a disrespectful AGGRESSIVE MANAGER, and THREW UP after limp lettuce❗️ I ordered Pasta and was half way through eating it AND THEN LIVE CENTIPEDE crawled from underneath the pasta from the middle of the bowl. I WISH I HAD FILMED. My instant reaction was STOP EATING and take it straight to the kitchen. THIS IS HOW THE RESTAURANT STAFF DEALT WITH IT ⬇️ The chef literally looked deep into my bowl and smiled, said nothing, just a great big smile. The Manager came over and I explained what happened until he cut me short and started SHOUTING AT ME. He said (shouted) it was not possible to be alive and that it must have fallen from the ceiling. MY JAW WAS ON THE FLOOR. I could hardly get a word in due to him shouting at me and waving his hands around. DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. The manager continued to SHOUT at me whilst resolving the matter, stating that we can have all meals and drinks for FREE. ⬇️ There was no apology from the manager and just a smile from the chef. Head Office was complained too. It was concluded that the manager did nothing wrong (can’t agree!). I declined an offer of a £100 voucher to spend WITHIN 3 months at one of their restaurants ABSOLUTELY NOT never again. Another member of my party threw up the next day as his salad did look rather limp. Let’s sum up. ➡️ WORST restaurant experience ever 🤮

Great time with Francesco as a server!

We had a brilliant time - great food and fantastic service by Francesco! It was my brothers birthday and he got a lovely cake free of charge. Very authentic Italian cuisine.

Took a while for our table to be sorted, booked for 9pm and weren’t sat til 9:30. Waiter took our food order then refused to let us order drinks and said “he’d be back to take them”. Was a while so we ended up having to ask a member of staff who was walking by. Starter was nice but main (mushroom & tomato pasta) tasted like a microwave meal. Overall seemed very overpriced and overrated, however staff were all very friendly!

Came as a large party for my friends 30th. Staff was lovely, food was amazing (I never normally have Italian but if I do I'll be coming here, again) Cocktails are on point 👌

In short, they can't cook here. And the service is lacking. I'm used to decent restaurants as I spend a lot of time in Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia. This isn't one. We wanted to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday without venturing into the city centre. I’m not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but with good reviews and a Bramhall location, it seemed promising enough. I’d tried the Hale branch before and expected something adequate, if forgettable. When we arrived early on a midweek evening and found it nearly empty, that should have been a warning sign, but I didn’t take the hint I ordered a fillet steak, medium well. What arrived was a chewy, bone-dry medallion about half an inch thick, cold, over-salted, and over-cooked. It resembled a shoe sole - small and tough. I strongly suspect it had been frozen. My wife started with scallops and followed with king prawns. The scallops were hard, and while the prawns weren’t off, they clearly weren’t fresh - almost certainly frozen. Both kids ordered pizza. The sparse toppings and soggy centres meant the toppings slid off, rendering the pizzas inedible unless you wanted to scoop up the mess with a knife and fork. Once again, not cooked properly When I mentioned my steak, to their credit, they did offer to make another, but having established already the quality is subpar and they can't cook, what would be the point? They did cough up a few free drinks in an attempt to compensate. With only three occupied tables and three floor staff, you’d expect attentive service. Instead, they were mostly invisible. I had to pour my own wine and call for plates to be cleared. When we were ready to leave, we’d already retrieved our coats from the cloakroom before anyone appeared. When the bill arrived, they encouraged us to download an app for 25% off food. Since we had no intention of returning, we wouldn’t normally have bothered, but we used it (with disposable data) to reduce the cost slightly. Even then, it didn’t feel like value for money. We also asked to have the service charge removed, as it wasn’t deserved. After all that, it came to just forty odd quid per person. And there’s the problem: at that price point, given Bramhall’s overheads, they can’t afford to serve high-quality food or hire skilled chefs. This forces them to cut corners, which leads to a disappointing dining experience. As customers stay away, they resort to further discounts, creating a vicious cycle that only drags them down. We'd have had a better experience at a Zizzi or a Pizza Express, I'm sure. And that's not saying much. Save your money.

Dined this evening for my partners birthday, a 6pm booking. The service, atmosphere and food were fantastic. The team were really attentive and just amazing, a five star service. A young lady, a gentleman in a chequered jacket and a gentleman with a great beard shape up looked after us so well! They surprised us with a little cake and a happy birthday sing song which was a lovely touch. We hadn’t been to this piccolinos before but will definitely be returning. Our new favourite place to dine and we have already recommended to family! Could not rate Piccolinos Bramhall any more highly! Thank you so much!

We celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday last night and it was a fantastic evening, great food, service and atmosphere. Francesco, Franco and his team all go above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable time there. Perfect for special events! They all sang Happy Birthday to her too, they gave us a fab table & we will keep returning to this restaurant.

We've been to this venue on a number of occasions, and we keep going back. We go back because of the quality of the food and the quality of the service. We went on the evening of 6th October, it's been a little while since we were there,but we were not disappointed on our return. We had a warm greeting on our arrival, which made us feel at home,and this kind of displayed warmth came and comes across as genuine and not fake. We normally have the same table,but on this occasion we were seated elsewhere and it was fine,we instantly settled in our server for the evening was Francisco, he like everyone involved in our service was outstanding, he and they simply couldn't do enough. The team have the knack of making every single guest feel valued,almost as if they're the only one. This is some fete,especially at a very busy sitting. The team went the extra mile to recommend and provide a sweet to satisfy the bespoke requirements and,palate of my partner! SHE LOVED AND DEVOURED IT! WELL DONE GUYS..SEE YOU SOON. Dennis

I visited Piccolino Bramhall with colleagues after a day of meetings. The atmosphere and the food was great and made for a relaxing end to a long day. The service from Francesco was fantastic. After making a last minute booking , we arrived and were taken to one of the lovely round booths . So nice to sit and enjoy a meal in comfort with space to relax . A great family meal seated on the covered terrace. Happy to see our old friend Francesco serving tonight. He is just so welcoming, attentive and friendly - he really does make sure everything is spot on. Every one of us enjoyed our food which included; chicken with truffle gnocchi, seafood linguine, goats cheese salad and a supersized pizza (which my son demolished and then announced that it was the nicest pizza he's EVER had - even nicer than pizza in Italy)! Lovely cocktails and mocktails too. Really like the atmosphere here and we will certainly be back. Highly reccomended!

This is my favorite restaurant in Bramhall. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is consistently excellent. Top marks! But be prepared to spend a lot!

Really bad food and service yesterday. The manager ignored us when we came in so we were waiting ages to be seated. They also forgot our main courses so we were waiting ages, and then they were rushed and undercooked when they came out. None of the staff knew what they were doing either. Will be sticking with the Piccolino’s in Didsbury & Wilmslow - much better!

Piccolino has become the first place I recommend when friends ask for a phenomenal Italian restaurant, as I visited recently to celebrate my birthday with family and was immediately greeted by vibrant, welcoming staff who made the experience a million times more enjoyable, the team was flawless, from the Chefs being a extremely talented to the waiting staff being willing to go the extra mile. As it was my birthday our waiter Francesco brought out the most beautiful birthday dish, not only was he friendly but incredibly joyous and made our visit the perfect night! So thank you to all the staff for making an excellent night for a family birthday would definitely recommend a visit!

Quite simply one of the best food experiences in Bramhall. The service is also first class - we were looked after by Tania who was incredibly friendly, helpful, attentive and professional, her service was above and beyond excellent. Parking isn't great, so park in the main village car park and walk across, its 50p per hour so hardly a bank buster! All in all, it's a wonderful place to eat.

I went with my two sons, the 26 year old is autistic so can be a bit picky. Considering this is a chain they were amazing. They changed the starter so it had no vegetables in and as it was my birthday I got a free round of drinks and a birthday cake. Our waiter, Francesco, was so patient and attentive. It’s my son’s new favourite restaurant so we will be back!
