Ballaro' Restaurant in Burnley

Food was lovely have no problem with the food , but the staff made me and my friends feel awkward, uncomfortable and not welcome. The man that was wearing the blue uniform offended us and made us feel unwanted and I would genuinely never go back again (because who wants to go to restaurant where you don’t even feel comfortable)!

Excellent mixed grill and Spaghetti Bolognese. The sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake were also excellent and well presented. First time here but would definitely go again and recommend.

Went with some family on Tuesday night for the first time. Had a brilliant night and the food was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal, from fresh salmon to lobster ravioli! The staff couldn’t have been friendlier - they were supposed to be closing and didn’t rush us to finish our drinks. Whilst we aren’t local, we will definitely return. Thank you again for a great evening.

Returned last night for a meal because the last visit was terrible .the owner rang and apologised and ask us to go back so he could put it right . Had a lovely meal the lady who served us was lovely and would like to thank her again . On the other hand the owner did not even look at me never mind speak or serve us wich is what he said he wanted to do. I will never be returning here again. Spoke to him on the phone this morning and he said the printer was broken so he was in the office .I think you need to make sure your customers are happy first and sort your printer out later. Thanks again to the lady who served us . Absolutely love the food every time I go! Lovely polite staff and great atmosphere. Only thing Id say needs urgent need of improvement is the bathrooms. The women's bathroom doors don't have locks on any of the 3 stalls.

My first time at this restaurant and I went with friends after work. The owner and staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. We will definitely be visiting again.

Just had a Tuesday evening meal with my Family, the atmosphere was amazing the restaurant was really busy, the staff were all fantastic and so friendly, the food was delicious, looking forward to going back.

We visited this warm and friendly restaurant last Wednesday to celebrate our boys birthday. The food and service were outstanding. The lovely lady who looked after us ( Toni ) went above and beyond to make our night really special. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Food atmosphere and staff are amazing.

Had a very large party and was well accomdated for, nice area outside for adults and children with a sandpit and play area, seperate bench area, food was absolutely lovely and good portions, well worth the price!

We always come to ballaros as a family and have never had a bad meal or service. Last night on the other hand was horrendous. Food came wrong, both food and drinks came all at different times. Staff were rude and didn’t care and as for the man on the desk at the front - he needs to learn some manners. If it wasn’t for my children waiting for a meal then I’d of asked for a refund for the way I was spoken to. On 3 separate occasions we asked to speak to a manager but no one came so we left early. So unprofessional and we will definitely not be returning again.

After being told about this restaurant we went for a family meal out which did not disappoint. The staff on arrival were very welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is very good here and they have a stone oven in the centre where they make the pizzas while you watch from your table. The food is amazing quality, we will definitely be coming back here.

Always a lovely place to go for either drinks in the beer garden or for a meal. Little outside play area for the kids lots of seating and a huge screen showing the sporting events outside too

Amazing place great food really nice vibes

Just been for a meal for my nephews birthday and was completely ignored for 30 minutes until we approached the waited, there were 6 of us dining, all main courses come out together except for 1 who was waiting a further 10 minutes for hers. When it did come out it was missing the mash in which the waiter stated that will be coming out in a couple of minutes, by time that did arrive I told the waiter I didn’t want it as I had nearly finished my meal to be totally ignored, no apologies whatsoever. Shocking experience

Chaotic service, mixed-up orders, food not brilliant

I've been in Balaro dozens of times, but unfortunately I had disgusting experience in my last visit. My and my friend decided to have some food and drinks. We've been served by an old lady with short hair. We ordered drinks and I chose a starter. My friend on the other hand couldn't decide straight away because he is autistic (he always needs more time to choose his food). Our waitress told us: "Your order is not good enough for you to sit on this table." Ballaro WT#?! Is that how you speak to customers? My friend will never come back after his (first and only) experience, and I question myself should I spend my money in a place that makes you feel unwanted.

Brilliant place for a bite to eat and a cocktail, amazing service and friendly staff. Always a good atmosphere and the food is amazing. Tasty Italian food, they do burgers and have a wide range of pizza also. Playpark and sandpit for the kids outside aswell as the big screens for sports fans.

Love this restaurant. Has something for everyone. We have 2 kids and they love the pizzas and pasta. Been many times and always enjoyed the food. Lasagna is lovely, pizzas are spot on, chicken wings and ribs are great too.

They were just about to close when I stopped by, but I got a pizza to take away: goats cheese and caramelized onions. Easily the best pizza I've had in Burnley :)

Chose this restaurant for a family meal, 6 of us. Really impressed with the facilities, outside are great, inside really well set out. Food was really good, Tempura Prawns, Rump on the lava stone and Lasagne were stand out favourites. Service off the staff was great, and attention of the manager/owner? who had the white Ballaro top on was outstanding. One thing that also stood out was speed of service, top notch experience, thank you

Food excellent music way to loud

Had an amazing take out pizza from here. The Ballaros pizza is the best on the menu, this is the one on the picture with jalapenos as an extra. (Which they didn't charge for). Very quick at making and I usually leave crusts on pizza due to them being dry but this crust was so doughy and juicy. Definitely recommend it here

This is a wonderfully run authentic Italian restaurant, conveniently located just off the M65 it is very accessible in Lancashire. They offer a taste of great food and friendly service. The pizza’s are especially good and at around £11 are reasonably priced for a thin-crust stone baked pizza.

Absolutely wonderful pizza. I recommend the padana. Delicious. Lovely service. Great music. Lovely rose wine too. Would definitely go again.

I went and had dinner with my husband, such a pleasant atmosphere with wonderful staff, especially the waiters, the red-haired girl (Florentina), a perfect waiter, kind, friendly and his professionalism is 5 stars, her personality help make it perfect! Delicious food, those chicken skewers were delicious, perfectly made and their presentation was 100+, I got a take away pizza, delicious, congratulations to the pizza boy, perfectly made and exactly Italian pizza crust! I recommend you to go to this restaurant! Delicious food, everything clean, wonderful staff, perfect atmosphere, parking in front of the restaurant! Bravo!

Literally just left this restaurant, I am not one to complain but after multiple issues with bland food, repeatedly chasing drinks (water) orders and then being made to pay for kids meals when Facebook clearly states “kids eat free till 14th April” we were told no that’s only Easter holidays which is still is she said no the Italian Easter holidays then changed her mind again to kids eat free when paying adults get two courses… we both had a main and a dessert we were then told when we came to pay no they only eat free if you have a main and a starter we will not be going here again.

We just happened to stumble across this restaurant, and we are so glad we did! Great food with lovely staff. The menu has a great range of choices and there is something for everyone. We really enjoyed our pizzas, which were cooked in a pizza oven, so had a lovely authentic taste. The chips were great too. We had desserts- the godfather and godmother- and these were the perfect end to a lovely meal. Highly recommend. Good prices and great range of choice. Staff were amazing and ready to recommend their favourites.

Good food and well organised for the payments at the end. We had a large party which can make it difficult to organise at the end but they'd already split the payments out. Decent food too.

We celebrated 2 birthdays recently at Ballaro Restaurant. Outstanding staff and food here!!! The food is all freshly made, no reheated rubbish here only the best freshest pasta,meat dishes,pizza. The kids menu is varied and has plenty of choice even for fussy ones. You always receive a warm open welcome and feel at ease right away. The Owner is welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We had a disabled member of the party and the staff and owner are so accommodating. The deserts are delicious and the starters. We highly recommend Ballaro for any occasion or meal out. First time for me and it was lovely. Not usually a fan of Pizza but ate the whole thing as was very light & tasty. Going again in a couple of weeks. Atmosphere was great and staff were very helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful food with great pizzas and good quality ingredients. Thoroughly enjoyed our tea and finished off with a couple of freshly made delicious cocktails. The service was prompt and efficient and call out to the manager (not sure if he’s the owner) who is attentive and friendly. We witnessed an incident where a waitress dropped a tray full of drinks and his his first response was to check if the waitress was ok and told her not worry and then helped clean up. Nice to see such kindness

Walked in, greeted by very friendly staff and seated at a table fairly quickly. The environment seemed way too tacky for an Italian restaurant, with music blaring in our ears throughout the night. Fairly loud happy birthday renditions twice in the night (with the staff banging lots and pans whilst singing), but that's not really an issue for long and adds to the sense of character I guess. For starters, we had the Fritto Misto, essentially deep fried sea food - fairly decent, calamari tasted fresh and well cooked. The sauce provided was delicious. For mains, I had lobster ravioli and my girlfriend had the Penne Arrabiatia (pasta & chorizo in tomato sauce). My lobster ravioli was fairly good, although portion sizes were small (but for the price and it being lobster, it was to be expected). As for my girlfriend's pasta, whilst it tasted very good, we unfortunately found a piece of metal in her pasta - blamed on the chef being "aggressive with the pan" (staff seemed to try to find the light side, I was fairly irritated but understand mistakes can happen). Her meal was quickly replaced with apologies from the owner who seemed like a very friendly guy (bonus side plates provided to help me finish it off, very tasty nonetheless). For desserts, we had the "Godfather" to share. This was the worst part of the meal sadly - the Tia Maria was way too strong, and the portion size was way too small for a desert upgraded "to share". Compared with another customer who ordered it for one, the portion sizes looked identical. Very disappointing. Overall, I probably will not return. Whilst the food was decent - the environment, the piece of metal, and the disappointment of a desert really took it down a star. Really the epitome of "it's ok".

The breakfast is very good and there are many varieties, especially the dried eggplant was very nice, I have never eaten such a delicious one before, Gamze is very helpful. Thank you to the chefs, thank you very much to the friendly staff.

Food is gorgeous here... Just in and out too quick though... Not rushed but had 2 courses and out in an hour... Can be a bit loud as it attracts large parties but that doesn't put us of.

The food was amazing, we ordered starters (bruschetta, garlic bread, garlic mushrooms), mains (burgers, pizza, prawn pasta) and deserts (brownies, fudge cake, tiramisu, the godfather). The only slight issue was the steak on the burgers was a bit tough and the prawn pasta was a bit too spicy but everything else was really lovely. The kids meal is great value for money. Service was great and the bill was very reasonable.

My experience at the Ballaro has been amazing, everyone is so sweet and kind. And helping me to make the best of my stay. The breakfast is far from normal. Gamze, walked over with a smile and was so helpful and kind. She answered all my questions, and made me feel like I'm part of the family of the Hilton chain. We went for a family celebration. The starters of garlic pizzas were tomato sauce smothered in margarine. The mains varied in quality. Lamb shank was bland and barely warm, spaghetti with chicken was plain spaghetti covered in margarine with a soggy breaded chicken on top, chicken risotto was blandest I’ve ever had and again barely warm, lobster ravioli consisted of about 4 pieces. One person ordered the hanging chicken which we were told took half an hour to prepare. I think it actually took half an hour to defrost. I explained our concerns to the waiter and he reluctantly knocked the price of one meal off despite the fact as a table of 8 we hardly ate any of it. Would definitely not return.

Spur of the moment visit with family after open evening at college. It was reasonably busy for a Thursday night, with some rowdy punters celebrating a Birthday. The food and drink were good, portion size was fine, waiting staff friendly. The rowdy people got rowdier...kind of spoilt it for me.

I came here for tea with my friend. It was a weekday around 6 pm. Lovely atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was an offer on too so the price was very reasonable and the food was absolutely stunning. It was the best burger i have ever had. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it.

The steak was really nice. The service was very very poor 😳 Also the racket made when it's somebodys birthday (by the owner??) Sounded like banging plates followed by some sort of howling 🙄 not good. Also you could pick up on the stressed atmosphere between staff 🥺

You wouldn't expect this place to be here but what a great find! Delicious pizza and great children's meals. Really child friendly and even a little play area outside for the warmer days. Definitely want to try the steak night next.

Great music, nice food but uncomfortable chairs.

We had a great time my only gripe was my steak was meant to be Medium, it was rare, I couldn't bring myself to finish it, nevertheless the staff were lovely and the wine was very nice!

This is not a restaurant experience, more casual dining. The atmosphere was very much a casual experience due to the loud music, menu selection of burgers and hanging skewers.. The food was okay, but nothing to shout about... The service was also hit and miss, as waited over 10 mins for 1st drinks order, staff not confident with service, the final bill had been doubled, so not attention to detail to check what was given to us. Would we go back? No not for us...

This place clearly has a good local customer following and the restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and good vibe, people were having a good time and kids were welcomed. I was disappointed by the food however. The carbonara sauce was tasteless - just cream, with a few hard bits of bacon and the sticky toffee pudding, whilst well presented, was reminiscent of a microwave pudding. If I came here again I would get pizza as they looked delicious and are cooked fresh in the pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant. I would also skip dessert!

Ordered classic bruschetta and dough sticks for starter, bruschetta came without any balsamic reduction on top, when asked, they said they had run out, but never mentioned it whilst placing the order. The dough sticks were cooked nice however the accompanying dips of ‘garlic butter’ turned out to be garlic margarine and the ‘tomato pizza sauce’ turned out to be literal ketchup, which ruined the entire starter. When this was brought up to a member of staff, the manager was notified however the items were not knocked off the final bill, the main course was lovely, no complaints apart from maybe too much sauce with the pasta dish, but that is being picky. Whilst the main was lovely, the lack of an attempt to rectify the starter problem left us with a bad taste in our mouth and I’m not sure we will visit again

After a family meal at Ballaro this evening (29/06/2023). The food was wonderful and there are no complaints about this. The restaurant is lovely, clean and has an outdoor area for children. But our party was very disappointed in the service. Staff were too busy to speak with, ordering our meals was very rushed (chop chop people) and it felt like as soon as we paid the bill the staff wanted us GONE. Not a friendly smile, not even a goodbye -after spending nearly £200, very dissatisfied with the service. This is a lot of money to pay to be made feel like you are in the way. We will not return.

My daughter and her friend both 17 had a bad experience as the waiter was rude with them and made them feel uncomfortable. They have been there numerous times with friends and families and never had a problem. Just because they were on their own does not give the waiter the right to behave rudely. Both families will not be returning.

Got shown this restaurant from a family friend while up for a visit. While looking at the menu online it looked so amazing. I decided to take my friend and her lil one, omg the food was amazing the patte I had was so lovely to start, then I had the stone grilled fillet steak and the steak was such a beautiful cut so tender. The service was also amazing so overall the experience was so amazing I would recommend anyone to go

Booked for a party of 24 to celebrate an engagement , pre ordered all food a week before and they still got most of the orders wrong. One of our party didn’t receive her food till most of us had nearly finished our food( if we had waited then everyone’s food would have been cold) . Steaks were not cooked to peoples reference, either over cooked or under cooked. The toilets , both male & female we unclean and disgusting. We certainly won’t be in a hurry to return to this place. Spent well over £500 on food alone to be disappointed.
