The Palazzo in Burnley

Our visit for Valentine’s Day was a hit as usual, proving why the Palazzo holds a special place for us when dining in the local area. Starters were perfectly portioned (sautéed king prawns) and were delectable. Mains again were great, this place nails the home cooked pasta dishes every time. Whenever we visit, I always opt for the tiramisu as it is done so well. Compliments to the chefs! There were plenty specials for the occasion giving a huge variety of menu choices, and the cocktails we had were clearly made with love and precision. Drinks service was slightly slower than usual, since both the bar and restaurant were packed, but food service didn’t seem to be affected whatsoever. Our waitress, Charlene is someone we always look forward to seeing upon visiting and she was a delight yet again. Would highly recommend for couples - there’s no local Italian diner like it! Thanks to the team, will definitely be visiting again.

This Italian restaurant, in the centre of Burnley, is housed in an attractive old bank. The interior has been converted very well into a stylish restaurant and bar. We enjoyed the food and the staff were very pleasant.

I'm not sure that a free dessert for the table could have accounted for the uncomfortable and unwanted level of 'banter' I received. I simply offered to place my order ahead of my colleague so she wouldn't feel rushed to decide, but that makes me "the big gob". I would love to question you, Kush, if that same comment would have been made to a group of men on a business lunch? Or perhaps the group of older citizens sat behind us? The food was incredible, the venue, stunning, but having to sit there hoping not to interact with the server is unwelcomed. A paid business lunch to celebrate my team, and I left with a bitter taste that came from everything but the food. I kept the service charge on the bill, simply so I didn't have to communicate and prolong the unwanted rubbish feeling I left with. But please, spend that service charge wisely.

Came here on a date in December, an absolutely chocker Saturday night! Seen very quickly and got starters within around 15 minutes. Very quick service and the food was absolutely incredible! So fresh and full of flavour

Great food but the atmosphere was ruined by the rude waiter who's " jokes" left us all feeling rather uncomfortable. He began to single out one of the woman when ordering her meal, what started as " banter" was taken too far by calling her " big mouth" and this continued atmosphere made us all feel uncomfortable. He also made a rude comment when one of the party attempted to pass him some cutlery he was collecting, to help make it easier for him. But as she accidently passed the wrong cutlery he greeted us with a sigh and huff. We were there as a celebration, and all began to feel tense. We were brought a complimentary brownie between the 6 of us, but the waiter only brought 5 spoons and then made a point to hand the lady he had singled out from the start the bill and say " this is for you to pay and that's for everyone else". We can all take a laugh but this just got uncomfortable and has put us off returning to be honest.

THE best restaurant in Burnley. Amazing Italian food, excellent service. Such a beautiful scenic place to enjoy food with friends and loved ones. You pay for class and it's worth every penny. Me and my wife always enjoy eating here. Highly recommend

No complaints with food but service really poor as in previous visits. Waited 2 hrs for main courses. Had young children with us who were getting restless and very hungry!!!

Food was fabulous and the staff were amazing. I had the wagyu burger with chunky chips and the 3 dessert platter (Brownie, cannoli and tiramisu). I'd definitely recommend the chocolate Martini too.

Amazing venue in stunning building. We love to come here for food or even just drinks, staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. Drinks and food always amazing!! One of my favourite places to spend time with my loved one. Always made to feel special. Cocktails amazing and Peroni always fresh and crisp. Pizzas are amazing as is the pasta. Keep up the good work guys and hope to see you all soon!!

Great place for lunch. Beautiful building and good food

Our 1st visit was just perfect. The venue is stunning and the food was 10/10. However, our 2nd visit over Christmas was extremely disappointing. We arrived only to be met with confusion and where our booked table was. We were eventually seated up on the mezzanine floor, where tables were so close together that we were sat closer to strangers than our own party on the otherside of the table. Crammed in like sardines. We had to apologise to tables either side just so we could get to our seats. The service was shocking. Someone's else's order was brought to our table whilst we were already eating. Despite food quite clearly on our table the waitress still asked if the estranged food was for us! Lack of any kind of waiting or drinks service. A manager shouted quite loudly as the waiting on staff, which was inappropriate during dining. A manager was also very rude when I questioned what the soft, stale garnish was on top of the beef stroganoff, he was off hand and walked away from the table whilst we were still quering it. We won't be returning.

Visited The Palazzo restaurant for a family meal what can I say the building and decor is impressive to say the least but it's not all about show the food and service was fantastic I had tomato and chilli garlic bread from the woodfired pizza oven and then Tom's Bassato /braised beef, which was perfect you've got to go it's a fantastic restaurant

If i could give this place 0 stars , i would. The 4.4 rating this place has is awful. This restaurant is filled with negative energy, tipped the waiter and he wasn’t even grateful , no thank you or anything. The service is atrocious and the waiters are the most nonchalant, rude people ive ever met. The colzone we ordered was so overcooked that you couldn’t even cut into it . You come to dine at a restaurant expecting to be treated with respect but this place is no where near showing respect. I never leave reviews but this time I really had to because i want to make sure everyone reads this and gets some sort of idea what kind of place this is. Would never visit here ever again. Surprised this place is still up and running.

An excellent Christmas Eve meal with my mum, the food was excellent, staff were very friendly and attentive and they had an excellent range of alcohol free drinks, the best I've seen in my four years of sobriety, it made all the difference to me - thank you!

We went to the restaurant on Saturday 21st December when restaurants can be under pressure. We had opted for the Christmas menu. Some restaurants have a limited choice for such menus, but this was excellent. I would recommend the blade of beef as a main course , it was cooked to perfection. In spite of being busy, the service was excellent, and the staff were attentive. The general atmosphere was very good, but also due to many of the customers having been to the Burnley match, which they had won! We always feel comfortable in what is a beautiful building. Thank you for making our visit a very enjoyable one and reasonably priced for the time of year.

A must visit place. Great atmosphere, service and the food was excellent

I write this review as I sit waiting for my food. The reason is that I'm sat closer to the table next to me than my wife. Crammed in like sardines, you can't even sit down without moving tables! I literally can't have a conversation Horrendous service. Mediocre food at best.

I always enjoy the very hot and spicy steak calzone. Service always good, I would definitely book around Christmas time it is always packed.

What a beautiful building, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food was outstanding. This has to be one of the finest Italian Restaurants we've ever visited in the UK.

We are trying numerous food venues as a family after never really doing it. This was our second outing. We were disappointed. The food was quite bland, the pasta that I got was watery, the pizza topping literally fell off as you picked it up. The temperature of the foods were not the same (we ordered starters and mains together). The service was quite slow in terms of bringing the food out, taking our order, and finally when it came to bringing the card machine out to pay. We won’t go back but it was worth a try.

I was looking forward to going here,as I had heard great things but first impression was £9 for a glass of white wine & £12.50 for a splash of Gin and tonic!! Turkey dinner came & I thought it was a child's portion. 1 & half brussle spouts,2 small roasties ,1 pig in it'sblanket & turkey was from Bernard Mathew's roll (not carved from the turkey breast). Singer had a great voice but made me want to go to sleep...nothing up-tempo. 1st and last time. Overpriced and Over rated.

The live music provided a lively atmosphere which was perfect. Excellent service and delicious food. Our server Charlene greeted us with a smile, providing us with a personal experience including complimentary birthday profiterole! Will definitely be returning.

Had a calzone pizza it come with 3 pieces of steak told the waitress she said she’s told the chef then handed me the bill to pay ! Not worth the aggro so paid then said am leaving a bed review she said well I’ve told the chef

We had a table booked at 2030 on Saturday 26th October, for 12 people. We arrived from 2000 to have a drink at the bar, however, we didn't get seated till 2110. We chased the staff multiple times for our table in this time and no one really seemed to care. Once it got past 2100, we asked for the manager and explained we had been waiting almost 40 minutes for our table, he again didn’t really seem to care and asked us to give him 2 minutes. He gestured us to follow him after a short while and showed us to our table and muttered a slightly pathetic ‘sorry’ as we walked past. We were sat in one of the booths in the upstairs section, the identical booths around us were all set up for 6- 8 people, however they crammed 12 of us onto one of these meaning there was little to no room for our food and drinks. The food was okay at a push, one of my friend’s had the carbonara which came with undercooked pasta, however at this point we were all starving after our wait so cracked on. As it was our friend’s birthday we asked if they could do a dessert or something along those lines for him, kindly they said yes, they could do us a complimentary brownie, great! You can imagine our surprise when there was an £8.50 charge for a brownie on the bill! Speaking of the bill, this came to around £320, the waitress asked if we would like to pay together or split so we opted for split as we each wanted to pay for what we had. Completely reasonable right? No! The waitress sighed at us, rolled her eyes and walked off. Overall, an abysmal experience and safe to say none of us will be returning.

Great place to visit. Beautiful building to eat in. Good food at good prices. Good drink choice too..can get busy so we always book. Well worth a visit.

Decent pizza. Came with family for birthday. Seemed like everyone enjoyed their time. Nice location too. Not cheap though

The best pizzeria in Burnley, Especially for the pizza chef who is a master.

Having arrived at this place, at the suggestion of some colleagues, I started with a second course of meat (beef fillet) which was excellent in quality, cooking and presentation. Then, tasting their pizza, masterfully prepared by Pietro, I thought I'd get one all for myself! Result of the evening, total excellence on every front! Highly recommended!

Formerly a bank. Beautifully presented. High ceilings. A real spectacular restaurant. An afternoon with family. Big tables available especially for a big occasion. Fantastic bar area too. Extensive menu with proper Italian dishes. Mouthwatering. Food was excellent and the service was friendly and superb. Highly recommend this restaurant. Must be rammed in an evening at the weekend, so I would definitely book. Be aware gents toilets are downstairs so ask if disabled facilities are available

Visited as a family of 5 on a weekday. Lovely place. Very decadent. The food and staff was good. However, after we had finished our starters we gathered the plates with the interest of helping the waiting staff. How wrong we were ! One of the male waiters came over to collect the plates. He stood there huffing and puffing and shaking his head negatively! He then proceeded to take the plates and rearrange them making it deliberate that he wasn't pleased. Our main meals arrived and were spot on . However the same waiter who served the last plates of food never spoke. Never asked if we would like black pepper or parmesan. Never expressed any words of enjoy your meal ! I feel that this waiter really spoiled our experience and we didn't deserve the treatment that was delivered. Especially as I spent almost £200! Shame because it was a lovely place with lovely food and mainly lovely staff.

Came for my girlfriend’s birthday meal, and couldn’t have asked for better service. We ordered prawns and calamari to start, which were tasty and well portioned. For mains we ordered lasagne and a chorizo rigatoni, which were great, very authentic Italian. Dessert was also a hit, we got the tiramisu and a sticky toffee pudding. Drinks were presented well and came in reasonable time. Staff were warm and welcoming and sang happy birthday. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great stylish building, friendly staff, if a little disorganized, good food. The high ceilings worked against as it got busier and it became very noisy, but overall we enjoyed our meal.

This place was an absolute stratospheric discovery. Marvellous venue, excellent service and some of the best delicacies I ever tried. As myself being Italian, I appreciated dishes sourced out of fresh and excellent prime ingredients. True authentic flavours. A delicious Parmigiana, bathed in a sublime tomato sauce which incredibly won over my own home made version. A risotto with fresh porcini and a creamy texture. Another risotto with salmon and fresh seafood flavour that never tires the palate. All bathed in a dreamy and engaging Sauvignon from New Zealand - among the best white wines to match these types of dishes.

This was an oasis for my friend and I after almost a week in a Holiday Inn... I did a bit of research on TA and found this pace and we arrived hungry! Started with lovely cocktails and then when seated,h ad fab service from Ciara, who seemed to sense our need for good food! She was quick to offer adaptations to choices and was generally incredibly kind and personable throughout our visit. The food: Excellent beef carpaccio ( and I eat a lot of this!) There is a wood fired pizza oven so obviously, the garlic bread was FAB. Great olives, although spicy, so be warned... Mains did not disappoint- slow cooked beef for my friend and Fritto Misto for me- plated so beautifully btw. This is a beautiful space with excellent food an genuine staff- thank you to Charlene also, If in Burnley: Go!

Went on a Saturday lunchtime. Only a few customers in. Food was very good but pricey and the wine was very pricey. I found the staff apart from one waitress a bit aloof. (No smiles) Decor was amazing though. No parking at all though which lets it down . 40 mins wait which was useless.

Absolutely superb restaurant, we loved it from first going in to leaving. Was lovely and quiet when we arrived so was greeted by staff straight away and given the choice of anywhere we liked to sit. They asked us for drinks and were so fast in bringing them. They gave us more than enough time to choose our food so we didn’t feel pressured to order, and I was amazed at how fast and well done the darling bread starter was out! Our pasta dishes were only 5 minutes behind the pizza so not long at all, amazing service. When we were all done the table was cleaned up swiftly and asked for any more food, but we were not rushed out when we didn’t want anything else which I did really appreciate. Just an all round gorgeous building with amazing food and drink options. Superb staff that want to help and keep everything so clean and tidy.

Honestly, can't go wrong at all with this place, the food is amazing, the staff are constantly on the ball and very friendly, the service is fast, you get your food within 20minutes, starter within 10, the pricing is also very fair.

The food here is amazing. Quick service and plentiful however the tall italian waiter who served us who's been there since when it opened I think is incredibly rude. 3 times I've been here and I say the same each time. I asked to pay for my bit of the bill as I had to leave so he threw the receipt at me and told me to work it out myself! If it wasn't for the delicious food, I would never step food in this premises again.

We had a meal there on the 31st August 2024 we sat down and waited 20min for somebody to take our order . There was no water offered while waiting we then proceeded with our order I ordered steak and had to wait another 5 mins after asking for a steak knife to be able to eat my steak .we was sat so close together you couldn’t move .and you certainly couldn’t hear yourself talk .we felt like they try to cram as many people in to make as much money as possible not an enjoyable experience in my opinion

£16 for a microwave lasagne, service very slow. Bill way too high for the service and quality of food. Won't be back

My girlfriend had fond memories of visiting this place when she was younger, and it certainly lived up to the nostalgia. Set in a beautifully restored old bank, the atmosphere was unique and charming. The service was wonderful, with staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. My girlfriend tried a few cocktails, and they were absolutely incredible—well-crafted and delicious. The food was equally amazing; she had a carbonara that was perfectly creamy and full of flavour, while I opted for a calzone that was done to perfection. We couldn't fault a single thing and will definitely be coming back again!

Came for an anniversary meal out with our two children, one with ASD. Staff were very friendly and informative. Food was delivered quickly and the kids make your own pizza, It was very interactive for our boys who loved the whole experience. Prices were not cheap but neither was the quality and I feel it reflected well on what was delivered to us with good timing. I had tagliatelle lamb and my wife gluten free Carbonara, again excellent. Only niggle was it got loud but not overly so. We will be back again.

Called at the pallazzo by the off chance and I have to say we were blown away - drinks were quick and easy asked for menus and ordered some food the waitress was a young blonde girl (didn’t get her name ) she was excellent- polite engaging smiling the food arrived within 10 mins piping hot fresh everything you expect and want. The service was excellent from start to finish and food was delicious! Well done and great job all the expectations of a city centre restaurant and more. Would highly recommend

I have been here in the past and had good food, however, tonight was not good at all. Garlic mushroom starter was very small even for a starter. The chicken main was small, extremely salty and oily. Left me with an off stomach and my stepmum who had the same meals. When we were asked how our meal was, the waitress said the chirozo is supposed to be salty. Very disappointing especially for the price you pay..

Went for a colleagues leaving meal. The service was top notch, and the food was delicious 😋 can't wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I have been to The Palazzo a few times now. The food and service has always been amazing. Very fast. It’s actually a very decent price for what you’re getting as some Italian restaurants are very expensive.

Italian restaurant in the centre of Burnley. Very beautiful and impressive former bank building with marble walls and high ceilings. Bar area with a bigger range of drinks than I’ve seen anywhere. Spacious dining area very tastefully decorated. Exceptional service, in our case from the daughter of the proprietor. Extensive Italian menu with some British favourites. I recommend the pizza starters, particularly the rosemary one. I had the seafood linguine - the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended in every area - the best Italian ever!

Top marks for this hidden gem in Burnley town centre! Service was spot on--friendly, attentive and nearby. Food was quick (maybe too quick?) and delicious. We started with the chicken ceasar salad that had plenty of chicken, but lettuce was on the slim side. My husband had the pancetta with gnocci from the specials menu while I had the linguine pescatore, both fantastic. The trio for dessert were three small, but shareable size portions after a gorgeous meal, which we followed with the best coffee we've had in a long time! The atmosphere was flawless and definitely made you feel like you were transported to a little European city restaurant. Seating was ample in the bar section and restaurant areas with lots of options for large groups. Please let them know if you are mobility-challenged and to be placed on the main floor as the mezzanine does not have an elevator, but does offer a great view.

The food was amazing could not fault it at all. However the service was very slow took half an hour to order drinks and another 15 minutes for them to arrive. Also through no fault of their own was very very noisy so could not have a conversation with each other. At one point the waiter snapped at me for miss hearing him which put a bit of a damper on things which should have been a pleasant night out enjoying my birthday.

Momo was a pleasure. Fun, attentive and ensured we had a very enjoyable experience. Thank you! x

Beautiful meal in a beautiful building. When you enter you really don’t feel like you are in Burnley. We had starters which were very fresh and delicious. Then the main course were big servings and was hard to finish. But overall it was a pleasant experience and what we needed.

This place is amazing I would recommend you come here. Also there was a waitress named Alex and she was very polite and she was just incredible. Also the toilets were very clean and plus in my opinion the pizzas were outstanding. By Ava age 8

Went on a Thursday night for a friend's birthday, the food was delicious and the venue and atmosphere are lovely. The highlight was how well we were treated by the staff, who dont rush you at all and make sure you have everything you need! Loved it!

Really lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. We had a garlic starter to share, a pasta dish each, a side dish and a bottle of wine, very reasonably priced (bill came to 77.50). Would definitely rebook when next in Burnley

My experience from Friday 7th June We came to the restaurant to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday a very special occasion people had come from colne, Blackburn and even up from Scotland to celebrate We called and booked a table for 12 people the previous Monday 3rd june and confirmed numbers the restaurant accepted our table no problem booked for 7 o'clock when we arrived the waiter asked how many was in our party we again confirmed they was 12 and that we booked prev to get a reply "yes I'm aware you've booked" he walked off came back "I'm working on your table, do you want to sit together?" Of course we said yes we waited at the bar for half an hour before being seated I say being seated we was squeezed under the stairs leading the balcony (didnt know we was getting the harry potter Experience) on a very small narrow table we had to put the shortest person at bottom of table so no one was banging their head, at the top of the table TWO people was placed one having to balance on the very corner of the table. There wasn't enough room for anyone's meals or drinks but that was only the first of our problems. We order 4 Margarita pizzas a waitresses came over and Said 2 of the pizzas had garlic on which hadn't been ordered would we still accept it? We was all starving so we did. When food 4 pasta dish's was sent back cold 2 was fish pasta dishes one was swapped to a pizza instead and the rest was very clearly microwaved as came back steaming but still cold in the middle one VERY CONCERNING one was still a fish pasta dish that was mircowaved!! The pizza that had replaced one of the pasta dishes came out wrong the other pizzas came out sloppy seeming under cooked all not cut so when trying to cut it all the cheese and sauce just slopped off onto the plate (someone had ordered a garlic bread with their pasta and that came out cut?) We ordered 5 colas and the poor waitress was struggling to get around our very cammed table to the point the tray toppled over spilling the all down my friends back soaking her, all down the front of the poor waitress and down another friends jacket on the table and in people's food and smashing glasses on the floor, We demanded management who was unapologetic and Unfazed they left our friends and waitress soaked they had to take themselves off to bathroom to try clean up. When we started listing everything that had gone wrong and was unacceptable they said "well what can we do to sort this" We said first off apologies to our wet friends and to the birthday girl her birthday was spoiled by their Negligence. No one finished their plates, when it came to the bill they tried to charge us for the 5 colas they spilled all over us !! After a debate they knocked off the wrong food the colas and a percentage None of us will be back and we're still unhappy a special occasion was ruined

Best italian restaurant in Burnley and surrounding area. Lovely food and a good selection of beers including a couple of decent ipa's 'Loom' and 'Jute' from the Salt beer factory, for those who don't want to drink generic lagers.

Sunday 5pm, quite busy but not full, very nice atmosphere. Huge building, very grand and spacious. Good food, large bar area and quick service with a reasonably priced menu. Would definitely go again.

Visited on a Sunday with a friend having wanted to try it since moving to the area two years ago, I dont have a particularly high opinion of Burnley but I was blown away by This restaurant. Interior was very smart and true to the original building features, food and service fantastic everything cooked perfectly. We have already booked a few return group meals

My food was good but my daughters pizza was soggy in middle and one the male waiters was a bit rude,chief was pleasant and smiley and bar staff was friendly too.
