Aldos in Burnley

The food here is amazing, really tasty. We came here last night. My husband and I had the spaghetti bolognese and the kids had pizza from the bambino menu. Then for desserts we had profiteroles and the amaretto cheesecake. I cannot rate it highly enough for quality and value for money. We have eaten here four or five times now and have never been disappointed. Would come here every night if I could. I don't write reviews very often - well hardly ever; but if you want excellent food at a very reasonable price you should try this one.

The food here is brilliant, the portions are large and the service is great. As soon as you sit down, you’re given fresh bread, olives and breadsticks. The menu has everything you need and it’s some of the best Italian food I’ve eaten. The chef/owner (Aldo) usually comes out to say hi and have a chat. He’s very friendly. What’s very disappointing about the place is the custom - there’s not enough. Yes, it’s a little out of the way and not well advertised, but more people should support this place. On a Friday night, there’s one chef (Aldo) and one waitress, which tells you they aren’t expecting many people through the door. There’s 2-3 tables with people eating. It’s not enough - more people need to support this friendly little family run place. When big companies charge over the odds and are jam packed, it’s a shame that places like this are empty. We will try to go back weekly and we will recommend this place to others, as I genuinely cannot fault it.

Expensive for a burnt pizza. Very poor restaurant apparently. Very poor Never again. For that quality? Really? Unacceptable

Absolutely fabulous meal yet again we had a garlic pizza and chicken livers with chilli for starters followed by monkfish and peas and a beautiful pasta dish… moretti and a lovely bottle of white wine….

Booked at the last minute and came for my wife for her Birthday. absolutely awful, the drinks came which were prompltly dropped all over us, it took a good few minutes for them to move us and we were all covered in lager at this point. the drinks were eventually brought to our new table after we were asked if we had everything (no you dropped thedrinks on us). the food came which to be honest was just ok. having partially dried out we decided to risk it and ordered some more drinks and hoped that we would stay dry. Luckily for us, this time they dropped them just before they reached our table and spared our clothes another alcohol bath. The gentleman on the table behind us came and asked if we had brought our trunks with us, they had had 2 glasses of coke dropped on them at their table. went to pay the bill and the only recompense we recieved for this commedy of errors was for them to try and charge us for 3 lagers that we hadn't had.

Fantastic food. Bot dark and dingy bur the service on the waiting staff was shocking. Sat on her phone the whole time. Never offered drinks or ice cream for kids. Seemed irritated at having to be at work. Shame for the owner who has build a fantastic business and restaurant

As i have said... Staff where funny and it was great service. Food was excellent. Steak Diane was superb and the sauce was exquisite.

We were a party of 6 and the food and service was good, so I'm surprised regarding the earlier reviews commenting on the service. Will return to have the tortellini again.

I really don't want to say negative things about a business online especially when so many are struggling. But our visit here was terrible. The service was the worst I've ever experienced. The restaurant was quite but it took nearly an hour for a waitress to come and take an order when they took the drinks order they didn't know the difference between a lager and a cider. And missed items of the food order. The food also took a lifetime to arrive. And was pretty average my order had a side order of rice. Wich didn't arrive until my meal was nearly finished and was overcooked and stodgy. The poor young waiter who was trying his best. Was let down by the management as he was clearly untrained. But he gave a valliant effort in trying to provide service. But the rest of the staff let him down. I won't be going back very disappointing

Where to start. We were seated and then they took our drinks order. After 30 mins no drinks had appeared we had also not even been given a menu. Yes, it was a Saturday evening but it was wasn’t busy! It must’ve been an hour before we actually got to look at the menu and the. We had to ask them to take our order! Starter we all shared at a couple of garlic pizzas which, were very nice. It was a good whole however before our main meals came. My partner had almost finished his meal and he was still waiting for his side dish of rice. When it came it was over cooked and basically one big lump of goo. The only saving grace was the young lad who served us. Very pleasant and tried to do his very best under difficult circumstances. I have never been anywhere where the service and lack of attention was so bad!

We hadn't visited Aldos for years and glad we did. Was pleased to see my favourite Tortellini on the menu as most Italian restaurants don't do it. Service was good and we will definitely return.

Superb freshly cooked Italian food, lovely atmosphere and both service and staff were excellent. Definitely will be visiting again.

Went with family for dinner. Served by lovely staff, very efficient and friendly. The food was excellent, pasta cooked to perfection. Very generous portions and all courses were delicious. Highly recommended

Eaten here many times & has always been top notch food, never tried the takeaway so tonight we went for it. Would give 0 stars if possible. We ordered our starters and mains at 8pm and waited until 9:15pm with no food in sight, and then we were told that our order hadn’t been given to the kitchen so we had no food. Definitely won’t be returning.

We cannot visit our favourite restaurants yet again during these difficult times, but Aldo’s takeaway is absolutely excellent. Had 3 meals on Saturday night, every one was delicious. polpette contadina, pollo supresa and a mafiosa pizza.. my neighbour who had the pizza said it was the best pizza he had ever eaten, including the number of times he had visited Italy. Another family party, 7 of us, both grandsons had steaks, which they devoured, the rest of us had a variety of dishes, from wings and thighs, to pizzas and pasta, and as ever it was wonderful. Aldo and his staff are so welcoming and family friendly it’s alway a joy to visit.

I’ve said it before, this is a fabulous restaurant, and our family absolutely love it. Fabulous steaks, pizzas, chicken, fish, whatever you like. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nuff Said!

Finding Aldo’s last night was one of the best pieces of luck I’ve had in ages. My 15 year old son and I stumbled across Aldo’s after a long day, and the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for! A delightful place, well presented and wonderfully welcoming. Excellent home cooked food, served in a lovely environment, by staff who really really care. Giuseppe was a fantastic host, and thoroughly added to our enjoyment of the night. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. A real gem. Keep up the great work all at Aldo’s!

We ate here on a Sunday evening and my husband and I had the meal deal, our eldest son had a steak and my youngest a children's meal of spaghetti Bolognese and chocolate ice cream to finish. Was an absolute bargain and i have not had better Italian food anywhere else. The staff are lovely, Giuseppe even helped my son cut up his steak. We will return again and again. Our favourite restaurant without a doubt.

I dont visit this restaurant often. But I have aleays recommended it as weve always had great food. Tonight i was very dissapointed to have to listen to the staff argue over my order after asking for a drink I ordered and how they couldnt possibly do a half pont of shandy for my daughter. Yes. Argue. For me and the other customers to hear. I gladly paid for a pint of lager shandy and this poor review sounds ridiculous. But for staff to argue about it. Totally ridiculous. Im sorry but customer service here has really taken a turn for the worse. Sorry Aldos. Im off to Palazzo from hereon in.

Visited last Saturday as a family of 7. Variety of dishes enjoyed including stuffed chicken, pizza, lasagne, steak and childrens meals which were a decent s8ze and included ice cream. The scouse waiter was very friendly and couldn't do enough. Good first visit. Would return.

On a flying trip to Burnley with my mum we were recommended this restaurant. Brilliant, great food, not expensive and a waiter that was so funny (in a good way!). Would recommend this place to anyone, thank you Aldo's!!

The restaurant was in the basement with no dedicated car parking. No facilities for disabled as my mum's was in a wheelchair and we struggled to get her down the steps. Staff were very helpful and considerate to her needs. They were also very tentative to all of us.

Visited last Sunday where we took advantage of the 2 course deal. Absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere exceptional value would recommend for any occaision.

We visited family in Burnley from Kent . They are regular patrons of Aldo's and booked a table to celebrate a birthday . What a fantastic evening it turned out to be . Great food , great wine and great service . Warm and friendly welcome by the staff , who were very attentive . Food was prepared and cooked by Aldo himself . Word of warning . Portions are very generous . Recommendation ! BBQ spare ribs are delicious . They are appetisers , but a meal in themselves . At the end of our meal , the waiter returned to our table and played Happy Birthday to my husband on his violin . Then proceeded to play classical music . How talented ! Excellent evening . Can thoroughly recommend . We will definately return . 10/10

Staying in Burnley, 1/2 way down drive from Glasgow to London. Aldo's came up in search for nearest Italian. My 4 year old, my partner and I had one of the best Italian meals we've ever had. Pre theatre £10 for 2 courses is a no brainier and wee yin's pizza was thin and tasty. Staff warm and friendly.

Went with family and had a fantastic meal. The restaurant is very popular so we couldn't get a table til 8.30. I had the chicken livers for starter and they came in an onion gravy and were delicious, I then had the penne bake which was a very generous portion and equally delicious. We had two bottles of Pinot Grigio, the pace of the meal was very leisurely as all the food is cooked fresh to order. The waiters were friendly and attentive. I look forward to eating here again.

Where do I start with this place. If your a shy person don't go, the staff make you feel uncomfortable and call you out if you don't like something in front of the whole table. AWKWARD!

The children had spagetti bolognaise and penne in tomato sauce and they both ate the lot, plus a drink and ice cream included in the childrens meal which is good value. My steak was cooked well and was tender. The penna al forno my husband had was very tasty. The garlic bread with cheese agsin was tasty but I did dab off the oil with my serviette because there was too much oil for my liking. The fries could be better and are not homemade but overall a good experience and we will return.

Whilst in Burnley for a friends rock band gig. We thought we would have a change from are usual Asian meal. What a brilliant idea, the food is fantastico, a lovely atmosphere and all round pleasant experience.

Fantastic and HUGE menu, all food cooked to perfection. If it's not on the menu, Aldo will cook an Italian dish of your choice or you. There are deals on some days, including Sundays. The staff are lovely and friendly and service is excellent. This is the best Italian in Burnley and my family's first choice for a meal out.

We are regular visitors to Aldos and we cannot praise Aldos enough ! Great food ,value , staff, decor, Aldo ,Terry and the rest of the staff , we love the place ! The Specials on various evenings and Sunday are amazing value , we've visited every Italian in the area over the years and Aldos is our favourite !!

Visited last night in a large group and to quite frank the food was terrible. I ordered bruschetta as a starter and salmon farfalle as my main. My bruschetta was grossly over seasoned with garlic, it tasted like it had been sat in a plastic tub for days. The toast was absolutely rock solid so it had been toasted then cooled then warmed again. The salmon main had roughly 3 flakes of salmon. I wasn't on my own either. 3 of the party had pizzas which had a pool of oil in the middle and my wife's spaghetti and meatballs was tasteless and rubbery. I wouldn't go back here if you paid me. Absolutely terrible.

We booked a table for 30 people for my mums birthday. , we added more people, took some off - not a problem. We had pre ordered meals, but some people changed their minds on the night, again not a problem. Extra food was ordered - service was fast, everyone's food arrived hot, on time with no hiccups, and of course the most delicious food. Staff were engaging and friendly as always.

I have been coming to Aldo's for over 15 years & always had a warm welcome & good quality reasonably priced food! Best Italian around! Highly recommended

Duck and bacon salad, duck overcooked, bacon so salty and tough it could not be eaten. Had to send back an inedible steak to have it replaced by an overcooked one. Pork marmalade, was pretty cooked pork covered in space, yuk. Service slow won't go back

Had yet another fantastic meal at ALDO DUE on Sat evening. Also's food is a great favourite of ours and the team also give you a very warm welcome.. Great for 2's, special occasions, dinner parties, group parties, family parties or a pizza with kids.

We visited aldo's as a mother's day treat for myself and my mum. As usual the staff were fantastic, making a fuss of my 2 children. Food was delicious and we had a fantastic time. Thanks!

Me and my partner visit this restaurant often and it is always brilliant. The staff are brilliant and the food is always perfect. No faults at all, best Italian food around.

10 of us went for my Mum's birthday yesterday. Firstly everyone was disappointed that there is no draft beer. They were selling cans of carling for the lager drinkers but they only had 3 cans left - sainsburys is literally 500 yards up the road. The service was probably the worst I've experienced. They never came to the table to ask if we wanted drinks and seemed put out if we even wanted them to come over to the table. All the meals were pretty tasteless apart from the sea bass which was really nice. The dessert menu looked quite nice but half of that was unavailable. I ordered strawberries & cream expecting real cream. The cut 3 strawberries up & drowned them in carnation milk! The waitress said that she'd have told me if I asked if it was going to be carnation milk or not.....who on earth would expect that in a restaurant? The place was almost empty & we were their biggest group of the night. The staff spent all their time behind the bar gossiping & we couldn't get anyone's attention to pay the bill. All in all, we won't be returning

We love Aldo's and we don't want too many people going there and spoiling our enjoyment. So.... "DON'T GO TO ALDO'S "

Good food, good value, good service and a good atmosphere. You can't ask for more, this place is far superior to the large pretentious places in and around Burnley!

Aldo is a lovely man as is mrs aldo They always have a large choice for vegetarians such as myself There's lots of parking and its town centre accessible especially from Burnley Central Station Food his of a high standard always Been many times and its highly recommended

If your looking for a good Italian restarant you wont be disapointed with Aldo's, a small family run restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food, Aldo is a great chef and his menu has something for everyone, my particular favorite is a Pollo Zingara which is not actually on the main menu anymore but is still available, Pasta, Pizza, fish or meat you wont be disapointed. The Staff are all very friendly and attentive nothing is too much trouble for any one of them.

Here on Mothers Day with 4 adults and a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Busy, but great as usual. One of our favourites.

Four friends went to Aldo on Saturday 30th January. As always we were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. The staff are friendly and the food is a wide range of traditional Italian fayre. Excellent as always

Aldos Due is on Bank Parade in Burnley (not to be confused with Aldos which is on Brown Street across town). There is a small carpark at the back of the property and plenty of street parking which is unrestricted after 6pm.

Based in the lower floor of an old property on Bank Parade this restaurant never disappoints. Mid week specials, great house wine from Sicily and excellent pasta and pizzas make for a good night out

Our 1st visit to this hidden jewel in Burnley was amazing. My husband and I had a fantastic night the starters arrived and I thought they were the mains the portions are that large. We overdid it I joked with the very friendly waiter that I would need a doggy bag I didn't take him up on his offer but he was quite happy to arrange this as part of the service. We were made to feel at home a great selection of wines with the waiter actually recommending a cheaper alternative to what I suggested. Of course we had to have a second bottle then... We are attending again this Saturday and looking forward to an authentic Italian meal in a warm friendly atmosphere. Roll on Saturday 28th November.

The weekday menu offers are very reasonable and the food is really good. The mussels are amazing. All the pasta I have tried has been cooked to perfection and the Calzone pizzas are so good I even got one delivered last weekend. If that is not enough special shout out to the scouse fiddling waiter. Top service.

Although my daughter & her family are regulars at Aldo Due we have only been once before but we went on Saturday 24th October to celebrate my daughters new found status of joining the ranks of the self employed & we had the most amazing time the food was very good & the staff were very friendly & efficient even Terry serenaded us with his violin every thing about the evening was a great experience I shall certainly be going again soon

Lunch today was excellent. Found wandering Burnley looking for a none chain restaurant. Italian food at its best and we eat out a lot. Would recommend to anyone local or not which we are not. Fabulous.

The food is always fantastic when we visit - came the other week and the girls are friendly and are quick to offer you refreshments, show you to a table and pass out menus. Our meals - a lasagne and a pizza were spot on and the waiter was chatty and cheerful. Cannot fault this place, it's fantastic.

The food was delicious hot and very tasty. The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. The mushroom starter was excellent. We had a set menu to chose from but there is a great menu and selection of drinks. Great night. Thank you.

Our party of ten was staying for one night at the (relatively nearby) Premier Inn. We didn't really fancy the on-site identikit pub (the Queen Victoria) for an evening meal, so looked for TA advice. Aldo Due appeared well rated and within a reasonable walk (about 1 km - 3/4 mile) of the hotel.

Visited here for the first time (and definalty last ) it was my partners birthday meal and was sent here after a recommendation! So expectations were set high after reading some other reviews .
