The best restaurants serving Italian food in East of England

It's a Costa, so food and drink is as expected, however, the staff in here are always miserable and too busy talking to each other to engage properly with the customer.

Lovely food , initial confusion over menu . Menu printed on the table as well as in on paper!! Confusion was soon forgotten when the food turned up!! Very very good

Tried to make a delivery order, requested to speak to manager when we was denied & MEENA left the phone unhooked when we asked to speak to a manager…she spoke in the rudest manor and used a rude voice saying ‘theeeyyy waaant to speaaak to the MAANaagGerrrr’ very rude & disgusting attitude. We then decided to pick up and the same MEENA took our order and rolled her eyes and had a chip on her shoulder…could never be my employee. I empathise with the poor staff at feering dominoes who have to endure little miss MEENA.

Pizza arrived cold. Sparse toppings Tasted horrible

Came here for lunch with our 6 year old as he likes Zizzi pizza. Food was mediocre, warm but pretty tasteless. The service was the real issue. Asked three times for pencils to do the kids puzzles they provided but they never turned up. Asked for chilli oil and had to ask twice. Kids meal includes Robinson Fruit Shoot but was told it was just orange squash juice instead. Compared to other Zizzis this is a real let down.

Poor service from front of house. The place is half empty, it's 2.10pm, and he won't be taking any walk ins until 2.30. Bad business as we were a group of 6 not to mention a bad attitude

Two of us visited, having booked a table for 8PM. They close at 10, so plenty of time for dinner, you'd have thought - but no. Felt rushed to order (and not because we were got distracted talking instead of looking at the menu) Starters were good but no time was taken on presentation. My hummus was still smeared down the side of the bowl from serving up. We'd barely eaten the last mouthful when the waitress came back to the table, not to ask if we were finished with the starters, but armed with the main course. I'd ordered pancetta as an additional topping to my pizza, which was missing. When I brought this up, they apologised and said they could bring my some out. I was then handed a bowl of raw prosciutto (which I like, and couldn't be bothered to correct) but I did ask that it be cooked, and they obliged. No-one else came into the restaurant after us, so the other tables had started to leave at this point. They'd started to close up around us. I used to own a pub, so know staff want to do some bits to close down where they can, but it was clear they wanted to get us out of there. We were too full for dessert, and as soon as we informed them of this, they really started to get ramp up making us feel rushed out. I asked for the bill & paid. Whilst finishing our drinks, we could hear the staff talking. The chef was leaving, asking about whether he'd see the others tomorrow. We heard them discussing who was working, that there was a member of staff that wasn't in because she'd refused to work with the chef any more & actually asked for a transfer to different restaurant. Not the kind of thing that should be discussed around other customers. I checked my bank this morning, and saw that I paid the bill at 20:55! An hour before they were due to close! So absolutely insane that we were made to feel like those people who turn up 5 minutes before the kitchen closes, inconveniencing everyone. All in all, the food was okay, and it was nice to catch up with my mum over dinner, but the whole experience could have been a LOT better. As stated in my title, I always leave a tip, but last night I didn't. The restaurant was quiet, there was plenty of time before closing, there was ample capacity for the staff to provide a good service, which just didn't materialise.

What a totally satisfying visit, was a bit impromptu as we did not plan on eating out however we opted for prezzo and what a dining experience, seated straight away served straight away and the food was amazing with really friendly staff

We went as a last minute meal , we were concerned as only one other couple in restaurant but thought give it a try . So glad we did we had a pizza each and they were lovely cooked to perfection hubby had some extra toppings and they were generously added to the pizza now my only gripe please add pineapple as an extra I love pineapple on my pizza and please do a pepperoni calzone and u r my go to pizza restaurant.

Food was mediocre, not much flavour and quite expensive for what it is. Beautiful atmosphere though very relaxed.

There was a minor mix up as I was originally bought the wrong dish but it was quickly changed and the food was amazing!!

Hen was an amazing waitress, smiley and bubbly. Made sure we were happy throughout our meal, and made sure we had all we needed/wanted.

The food was incredible… shame you have to sit in the main dining area of lakeside to eat it, because the food was banging, it deserves to be eaten somewhere fancier! The butter chicken curry was so good, chicken was lovely and tender and combined with the crunch of the fresh salad it was perfect!!

My friend and I recently came for a meal after work, it was 10/10. The service from Jessica was amazing, she was helpful, friendly and a great laugh! We challenged her to a game of rock, paper, scissors for a 2-4-1 dessert and was fun!

Cannot give any stars as at 20:15 (a couple of minutes before actually), could not go in as closing. Please update your website and make sure it says closing. I find it very frustrating that businesses close as not a lot of people frequenting at that time. As a shift worker this happens all the time! 😡
