Top evening I had and they even bought a birthday candle out on my cake at the second attempt of asking 😂 very friendly staff especially our waitress, Beth.

Absolutely disappointed with the food and service. The Calamari was greasy, battered in some undistinguished substance. Then they forgot my main dish. It came, with some unknown bits of either zucchini or God knows what. 3 lonely prawns but a lot of chilli instead. The waiter didn’t bring a spoon for pasta, had to ask. Poor food quality and the service even worse.

Brilliant evening for a group of 14. Staff accommodated 14 of us last minute and were brilliant start to finish. Beth looked after us very well Thank you

The food here is absolutely amazing, unique and flavorful. I enjoyed the salmon and pesto risotto followed by an absolutely gorgeous tiramisu (pardon my spelling 🙇‍♀️), at first I thought a little pricy but when I tasted the food it was absolutely worth the pricing! Along side my meal I had the passion fruit mocktail and it was absolutely fantastic, I ended up only having two though as one costs roughly £5!! Only slightly odd thing I found was the waitresses spoke about ordering online through our phones: whilst the concept does have me scratching my head over the use it did make things a lot faster which was great, especially since I was hungry. In my opinion it does take away a little bit from the experience however regardless the staff were still brilliant and regularly checked up on the table and were quick to clear our plates. In terms of atmosphere there are no complaints! Only thing I'd suggest is giving the bathroom a good clean!

We came 4 adults with 2 kids to have a dinner, They had a lot of tables, They give us small, dirty table that was absolutely uncomfortable we had cleaned it with wet wipes. service poor , not clean at all. I wouldn’t recommend , better visit some small businesses near by.

Beth was our waitress and she was so bubbly and friendly. Really made the whole experience :) Lovely atmosphere and great food, insane portions!!

Came here for lunch with our 6 year old as he likes Zizzi pizza. Food was mediocre, warm but pretty tasteless. The service was the real issue. Asked three times for pencils to do the kids puzzles they provided but they never turned up. Asked for chilli oil and had to ask twice. Kids meal includes Robinson Fruit Shoot but was told it was just orange squash juice instead. Compared to other Zizzis this is a real let down.

I thought it was an Italian restaurant but when I saw chorizo on the menu and Cheddar cheese in the Carbonara my mind was changed. My King Prawn Linguine was so greasy it kept slipping off the fork. The staff were very good not so much the food, wouldn't go back.

Went for dinner with some friends and we had the best time! Our server Beth was super sweet and took great care of us throughout our dinner!

Always enjoy a Zizzi's, never disappoints. Food was great and this was a lovey little chain. To top it off, our server Beth was absolutely fantastic, made us feel so welcome!

Came in very spur of the moment, got myself a salad. Have to say food was pretty good, actual atmosphere had a nice and spacious feel. Service however was exceptional. My server was called Beth and she was chatty and outgoing. Really made my day. Overall solid choice. Would come again.

The tables were sticky and unclean. My pasta was undercooked. I had to chew it forever. The pizza didn’t even feel like pizza, it was more like eating bread with yogurt. Even my cocktail was hot. Never visiting again.

I didn’t have a pleasant experience in this branch Manger was 0 The food was dry and tasteless The only good thing was the waitress she was brown with short hair she was so sweet and welcoming .

They give you a drink to keep you, as the wait for food is long. Mine was cold when it arrivedI had a Thin Crust pizza...It was so thin you could see through it. There was almost NO veg on it at all. Notably the worst meal I've ever had in St Albans where I dine often My advice...Don't go here. There are so many good restaurants in the city, this is one of the worst! To add further insult, they added £6.50 'service charge. AVOID THIS PLACE

Ordered from Just Eat some pizza. One was with black olives, to my surprise the olives were WITH THE SEED and I almost chipped my tooth as there was no warning about it. What would happen if I would give this to a child? No refund was given to me , just offered some silly automatically created answer... I was hoping for at least an apology which I can not see in their message. Instead, just some avoiding responsibility explanations. I will never order from this chain and definitely I'm sharing my experience with all my friends. Disgraceful.

I had a lovely experience at Zizzi. From the moment we walked in the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our waiter had great recommendations and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Highly recommend Zizzi for not just the tasty food but especially for the warm and friendly service that truly sets it apart!

We visited Zizzi for a family dinner and had such a wonderful time! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially with our kids. They were patient, cheerful, and even brought out some crayons and coloring sheets to keep the little ones entertained. The food was fantastic — generous portions, plenty of kid-friendly options, and everything came out hot and fresh. Our children loved their pasta, and the adults enjoyed a delicious variety of dishes too. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud, making it a great spot for families. It felt relaxed and comfortable, and we never felt rushed. Zizzi really hit the mark — we’ll definitely be back!

Service so poor & slow & they weren't even busy. No one in uniform so unable to know who staff were. Then forced to give a tip at the end otherwise the app doesn't work to just pay. Overpriced slop.

Didn’t take a picture as was really hungry, but sea-bass was amazing, great combination of tastes with the grilled vegetables. Strawberry fizz was not so good though, too watery, lacks more taste. But the food was amazing. Great service too.

Very nice place. The only complaint I have is the fried food is a bit too greasy. Don't get me wrong I like greasy fried food as much as the next person, but some of the dishes were dripping fat

I visited Zizzi, St Albans on Saturday 8th March. I treated my partner as if she has been caring for her daughter for the last 3 months at home. So, I decided to treat her as she had a few hours free. We ordered the pizza and lasagne, the pizza was fine. However, the lasagne was awful. I hate criticising but there was hardly any meat in it, with very hard bread crumbs and cheese. Very dry. It was like eating a crumble. I don't like wasting food but I had to leave it. The server was very good, but took us 5 minutes to attract to pay, even though it wasn't very busy. Some workers seemed like they were on their break at the table on the end, laughing and joking. Sorry, but this was not right as I waved to them to get a server so we can pay. But no one came for ages.

Had a fantastic meal at Zizzi! The food was delicious, especially the Rustica Pizza and Casareccia Pollo Piccante. The highlight was Nicole—so warm, welcoming, and attentive. Her great service made the experience even better. A wonderful spot for tasty Italian food with a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Had a great meal at Zizzi! The starters were spot on. We had the sticky pig pizza the wagyu royale pizza and both of them are so good. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was just as good. A big shoutout to Nicole, who was so friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed.

Ordered vegan bean stufato and a pizza for lunch and were excellent. Georgiana was kind and very helpful asking about allergies and offering support to choose the food. Would recommend to go as prices are good and you might find a table available. Just leave your car in the public car park

The pizza was magnificent and the Meantime IPA had great taste. The desert was da bomb and the service plus recommendations were on point.

Very lovely atmosphere, nice view outside . Always welcoming staff once you enter trough the door , always warm and positive . Very clean and high standards maintained restaurant . We live locally and takes us around 20min drive but we always choose this restaurant for Lunch or Dinner . Recommend it 100%!

Came in to zizzi St Albans for some lunch, they have been very accommodating and ensured we had space for the buggy. The food was lovely, came out nice and hot and the service was perfect! Would come here again

We went to Zizzi for dinner with my daughter.....to celebrate her birthday and we had a lovely time. The service and the food was very good! My daughter really enjoyed!

Lovely waitress called Georgiana looked after us perfectly which wasn’t easy as had 6 kids in tow as it was a half term lunch with friends. She was so kind and attentive.

This restaurant is very tired and needs a re-vamp. Our starter was served on a wooden platter that was old, had lots of knife marks and was really sticky. The little pot of aioli had been standing in the open and had developed a film over the top. The mains of lasagne was nice but not over tasty and it was served in a dish that had a big chip on the side. I told the waiter and he did take 10% off our bill, but I would have sooner had a much nicer experience and paid the full price. We won't be rushing back any time soon. Come on Zizi, spend some cash and get this place refurbished. On a positive, the staff were pleasant enough though

The food is ok, though not a patch on some others, but the service was really poor. We arrived to be greeted by someone who took our booking details only to wander off and say a colleague would come and seat us shortly. We then had to repeat everything to him. I should know by now that it’s easier to lie about allergens in the sorts of restaurant chains that make this all about their own policies rather than customer experience or safety. The staff member told me that an ‘intolerance’ is the same as an ‘allergy’ so clearly their training isn’t that good. We had the allergen conversation three times and it turns a meal out that is supposed to be relaxing into almost an argument. I understand they are trying to avoid liability for customer (and possibly their own) mistakes, but as long as their allergen information is clear and accurate it’s up to me to choose what I order. Staff kept asking for our orders for drinks, food, desserts etc before we’d had a chance to look at the menu (not least because I was having to sneakily check their allergen table online to avoid another debate about whether we were ‘allergic’ or had a ‘preference’). But despite being so keen to take the order, some staff didn’t seem to know what was on the menu even though we went slowly and carefully through our choices. Food came out at random times so half of us were sitting around with food going cold while the others waited for theirs to arrive. Additional drinks, ordered when the mains came, took so long to arrive that we’d all but finished eating by the time they did. Cappuccino was warm rather than hot and came in a plastic insulated beaker which wasn’t very pleasant. The tealight that was delivered to our table had spilled wax inside its glass, so the flame was wedged right up against the glass. My husband got burned by the overheated glass moving it away (we were worried it might shatter all over us and the food). Whoever lit them needed to actually look and think what they were doing as it was potentially dangerous. It was noisy, with music just a bit too loud and one chef bellowing far more than he needed to, especially given all the orders are on a computer system anyway. Atmosphere generally wasn’t that great. And finally on the way out another table of customers were blocking the way and were really rude, but staff did nothing. With more people queuing up in the entrance, it was generally crowded and difficult to even get out after a disappointing meal. Will give Zizzi a swerve in future as there are much better options out there.

The location is great. The team that served us was really friendly. Our time there seemed under staffed, which resulted in an experience that was disjointed. It's a really good spot to take the kids.

A quick summary if you don't want to read further is nothing was that bad but equally nothing was that good. Arrived at 6.30 (pre booked table for 7 people) on a busy Saturday night and our greeting was ok, nothing exceptional. It was extremely busy so quite noisy - not the restaurant's fault - just an observation. We were given enough time to review the menu and order. Drinks came eventually but slow service was a bit of a theme. One starter came way before the others so that was finished before the others had arrived. Amongst them were 2 of their sharing platters. They were very nice but you don't actually get much for your £19 - so not good value at all. Mains like the starters didn't all come out together which means you wait to start eating and food goes cold. The "Triple Pepperoni" pizza was another big disappointment. We were expecting loads i.e. TRIPLE pepperoni, I have seen far more pepperoni on a frozen £1.65 Tesco Pizza. It was tasty but again poor value for money. Skimping on pizza toppings is not good especially when the menu offers so much. It looked nothing like the picture on the website. Maybe I am just being naive. Wagyu meatballs were very tasty with just the right amount of heat. We ordered more drinks half way through our mains and these didn't come until we had finished eating. So overall not a roaring success, the bill came to around £230 so not cheap, will we go back again, lets see.

Lovely venue, great location. The food was served promptly and still warm. Would recommend. Also, they accept Tastecard. The Sea Bass was very tasty.

Not suitable for people with allergens. Went out for dinner to Zizzi St Albans, I have a dairy allergy and found dining at this restaurant so difficult I left without ordering any food. The allergy systems in place are terrible, the manager who was trying to be very helpful but unable to do so due to the policies Zizzi put in place informed me that they do not hold any ingredients lists and was unable to ask the kitchen what I could eat. The manager stated that their policy states they are unable to advise on dishes that you are able to eat and that you should only use the allergy matrix to make these decisions. They are also unable to make changes to any dish other than the pizza to add vegan cheese but unable to inform me if any other ingredients on the pizza will have have diary in them and advised me again to check the allergy matrix. Not being able to provide an ingredients list meant that I would not have known if the dish I could eat was safe. My only option would have been the vegan dishes which I did not want or a select few salads and starters. I do not feel comfortable eating at this chain of restaurants if this is their allergy policy.

Food was OK but pizza toppings were not that generous. Waitress Shivakami was extremely pleasant and provided excellent service

I ordered via delivery this evening after a very long and difficult day. My food was absolutely out of this world, especially the goat's cheese and honey bombe ... It's just out of this world. delicious. Seriously good! I tried leaving a review on deliveroo but it would not give me the option to type a review out properly.Then due to some sort of glitch it deleted the five stars I gave and my review vanished and I was unable to do it again. With the food this evening was so delicious I couldn't not leave a review.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was chill and comfortable, is a great place to have lunch or dinner with family and friends, we ordered two classic carbonara and the first one was a bit burnt and the second one was better, and we finished all the food, I totally recommend it!

On arrival, our table wasn't ready. We were not asked if we had allegeries. We did my husband has a nut allergy and was not given the menu for it. Then the food came the salmon was not cooked I sent it back then a waiter came back with and didn't understand why I sent it back eventually I got a cooked salmon

We go here quite often, but I am finding the £7 tip trick a bit cheeky. It's definitely putting the customers in the spot. Give the option to tip not force the customers, especially when there was no table service involved what so ever other than bringing the food to the table

The chicken dip had leaked everywhere, and the pizzas arrived and looked like they came out of the washing machine
