Excellent customer service, as always from Ruby and Andrew. Always with a smile on their faces, and a genuine cheery disposition. Coffee is pretty good too !

Dear Sir / Madam, I went into your Costa coffee shop in Welwyn Garden City yesterday. The service i received was unbelievably amazing. Hands down this is the best Costa shop I have visited. Both Emily and Ruby were so customer focused, friendly and so helpful. They both made my experience a delight. You normally get this type of service anywhere. I had to email you to say thanks.

Should be closed down for good and the people who want especially the manager are very selfish and Horrible.

The food is good, the coffee is also good after adding sugar, the staff is young and smiling, the manager knows many customers, easy access from the parking lot, the cafe is well-kept

Everything is good but its bit expensive

Needs a bit of an update and they need more staff on. There is always a wait, longer than it should be but because 2 staff are trying to run a big shop in peak trading times - they are town centre after all

2 girls worked really hard with an ever expanding clientele. Nobody picking up the dirty stuff all over the place. Yet again I had to clear my own table. This place really does need some help abd a bloody good clean up. Coffee still the best in town otherwise wouldn't bother going here.

One of the few Costas I've been too that know how to actually make a Cortado.

A welcome opportunity to rest and refresh halfway through a Saturday ramble through countryside around Welwyn Garden City. Unfortunately, service was a little slow - owing to the branch being woefully understaffed for such a popular cafe. However, those there did their best and a slightly longer pause was also a blessing in the circumstances. The coffee was reinvigorating and fuelled the rest of the ramble.

Great staff and fantastic management

Costa's nice. The actual drinks are pretty good while queueing or ordering it's unlikely that you won't see the staff openly mock someone. Thought this was the starbucks cliche but it turns out that in Costa you're made to feel pretty bad if you don't know their menu by heart, which by the way, it's often not displayed. Figure that one out.

Impromptu late lunch. For me mozzarella and mushroom toastie. For hubby a BLT. Flat white and cortado. All very good. Like that they’ve had a refit since I last visited. Interior is nicer now.

Tried new vegan ‘ham and cheese’ toastie - tasted absolutely vile so opened up sandwich to find minute amount of ‘ham’ stuck to one side of cheap bread while other side of bread was completely bare. Needed magnifying glass to spot the ‘cheese’, which was actually a couple of dots of bright yellow, glue like substance spotted on one side of the ham, which stuck to mouth like glue too!Absolutely disgusting - nothing like the product used in advertising photos - a complete waste of money.

I stay in wgc a lot and regularly pop into this branch. The staff are always helpful and ever at 6.30am crack a smile. Great location to station.

Visited 23/11/19 afternoon- Extremely rude staff. No customer service at all. I was being rushed into making a choice. Went back to get something else, a different staff served me and received the same poor service. As I was so annoyed, I came back to get the names of the staff from one of the staff cleaning the tables and I was told that staff had badges (of which they don't) and turned her back on me. Three different members of staff that are rude is just extraordinary. Never received such shocking, dismissive, rude attitude from anyone in my whole life. Never ever coming back to this branch. Well deserved of a very bad rating due to very poor customer service from staff. It does not cost much to smile and to be polite.

We are Costa coffee fans and have been going to Welwyn Garden City shop for over ten years up to three times a day sometimes. The manager Peter and his team are fantastic with great service. The new upgrade however is much to be desired. Some chairs are so small I can't sit comfortably especially with the cheap wooden back rest. The previous furniture was much more comfortable. The new counters with food near the checkout look like a school canteen and the rest of the shop design also looks cheap unfortunately. Not sure why it was designed this way. Please restore the ambience of this shop being that it is in one of only two Garden Cities in the UK.

Very busy but the staff were doing a great job. The chat between staff and customers was nice to see and the gentleman who served me was super nice and efficient. The location is busy and the place was bustling but overall it was a good experience and I shall visit again.

Very friendly team here & the set up is always neat and tidy. It is a popular venue so waiting times can vary. But please, please, please stop asking me if I want to try the "new blend"....I tried it once, but didn't like it....

Popped in for a quick lunch and stood in a massive queue. Took about 15 mins before we sat down. Weak coffee and under grilled toastie. Tables squashed in together so hard to have a private conversation. Pretty typical of most Costa’s!!

I frequent a lot of Costa shops through work and I think the staff in the Welwyn branch are the best I’ve had the pleasure in serving me. They always make time to talk to me, always have smiles on their faces and make the experience so good

Great Costa, staff always friendly and professional. It's in a good location for people watching. Didn't give five stars as service can be a little slow and the cleaning needs to be notched up a bit. Otherwise, it would be perfect!

Our cold drinks arrived in smaller sizes than we'd paid for but we didn't have time to wait any longer or sort a refund so we basically gave our money away, the hot drinks were powdery and tasted weak, the staff didnt seem too bothered to be honest, not worth a trip back, Starbucks is close by so next time we'll go there instead

Half of restaurant blocked off over an hour before closing time for 'cleaning' (as is usual practice in this branch) meaning not enough seating available for the customers who were still arriving. Some walked out again.

My son and I dropped into Costa after school for drinks/pastries. We received excellent service from the Maestro Barista; the quality of our drinks was perfect and served in a highly professional, customer orientated manner. Well done Costa!

Siento decir esto, pero el café en Costa (espresso) es ahora tan mal que tuve que tomar una foto. Ahora en los últimos 2 años Costa había constantemente y no sólo significa WGC60 pero hoy el café era absolutamente repugnante. Ahora sé que la Costa no tienen una política de marca donde la rutina del café es facturado 3 veces al día, que deben medir 30 ml en 20 segundos para asegurar la toma perfecta, pero me sorprendería si este había sido facturado en días.

Teniendo en cuenta el precio de su café deberían mantenerlo limpio. siempre, siempre está lleno y el servicio es muy lenta, no siempre sitio o una vez pagado. No me gusta cuando las partes personal sección fuera de camino antes de cerrar. 15 minutos antes es aceptable, pero a menudo no las piezas para ahorrar tiempo antes de salir, pero a veces demasiado temprano

De nuevo, el espresso es terrible, tuve que volver porque era muy amargo, y la segunda era igual de malo. El servicio era rápido y amable, y la comida estaba bien en cuanto a sándwiches tostados ir. He dado en Costa ahora como obviamente no puede establecer la rutina correctamente o lo hacen correctamente.

We arrived for a drink and a cake midday Saturday 10 December 2016. Costa wasn't busy but the tables were dirty and not cleared, I cleared our table but it took staff at least 10 minutes to notice and clear away the other tables.

Unfortunately the last few times I have been for a family lunch my espresso has gone from extremely bitter to sour. When I asked for a replacement it came out worse. I seem to be finding this in most Costa that I go to know...

Staff more interested in chatting to each other rather than serving. Dirty tables. Extremely dirty trays. Menu choices missing. Awful.

This place really needs a visit from the health inspector!Filthy, stained chairs and carpeting, disgusting dirty cups and cutlery (which staff do not like being asked to replace), uncleared, sticky tables, and a general smell of stale food/sour milk, which no doubt explains the flies buzzing round the food.

Stopped in with my daughter for a drink on a hot day. It was what you would expect from a Costa. Drinks were good and brownies delicious. Although on this occasion we had cold drinks and they were served in hot drink cups, although I only knew this because I've had them before. Costa is always a safe bet and you get what you expect. We live in the area and will go back regularly.

I have visited the local Costa Coffee many times and found lovely coffee, teas, cakes etc. The location is good with seating both inside and outside.

Good coffee as expected, the shop was a little smaller than I thought it would be, as the shop was busy, took a while to get a seat.

Very friendly staff, very welcoming. Good coffee and selection of cakes. Only criticism was people walking in from street, using the disabled toilet then leaving. Hence toilet was very smelly.

I went here today for the first time. The staff are very friendly. The coffee and food are the same excellent standards as most Costa stores. The seating comfortable and relaxing.

The staff here were not very friendly or obliging after cinnamon was put on the top of my drinks I went back to ask for new drinks the barista was just about to scoop the cream and cinnamon off rather than make another drink ... I had no apology not once couldn't believe the rudeness from this store!

Popped in just before going on to the Howard Centre. Didn't immediately locate free newspapers as customers hadn't put them back. As to service, no one stood out on my first visit here. It was ok but not the welcoming service of my regular Costas of London Colney and St Albans Maltings. would I go in again? Yes I would.

Tables were not being cleared, and the one we ended up sitting at was sticky.Coffee was the usual costa standard, nice carrot cake.

Grabbed a quick coffee and croissant to go in the morning to train station. Quality of coffee ok but bit weak, croissant lovely.Washroom was awful! Toilet rolls on floor, wet patches everywhere, mirror blurred. A good cked well needed.

Standard corporate fare here as usual. Nice place to sit and drink coffee, papers, reasonable toilets...which is nice. Nothing exceptional and for what it is, and pricy. The almond croissants are rather over-sweet and a bit chemical tasting.

Used to use this place a lot. Had a coffee when visiting WGC recently and nothing had changed. It was busy but service was still quick. Good coffee and cakes.

I came here with my Mum so we could have a cuppa & a chat before heading home.There was a cue & they were busy, but the staff were prompt, friendly & professional & I didn't have to wait long.While I was cueing, there was a large variety of treats to tempt you, and a fantastic variety at that.I ordered my Mum a small tea, and I had a large hot chocolate & a chocolate muffin (I promise I'm an adult!) I assumed it would be expensive, as I was fishing for another £10 note the lovely lady informed me it came to £6!And not only did my Mums 'small tea' come in a tea pot etc, she had enough for two cups. My hot chocolate was THE BEST I've tasted, and the cream was beautiful. The muffin was an amazing treat. We settled in the corner, and although cosy, the tables were just a tad too close together, we could here eachother conversations.But this is now my perfect place to have a coffee or treat. And it was fantastic to see the staff being so lovely to the children who passed through in there!

Lovely place for a tasty toasty to go with the best Latte in town. We love Costa inside and out. Comfy interior on cold days and when the sun shine comes out, it is a great to sit outside and see the world walk past.

My favourite venue, excellent coffee, friendly and helpful staff. My day wouldn't be complete without my daily visit for coffee, with so many to choose from. The only problem is which. There is always great selection of sandwiches, and cakes, so tempting it's difficult to resist.

Came here for a coffe with a friend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You have lots of different seating areas. Including outside.

This is a regular stop for coffee which I probably visit at least 2 to 3 times a week>it gets busy at weekends and some lunctimes.It has the usual Costa different coffees on offer plus sandwiches and Panini's.The service is good and the staff friendly.It can get used by business people for meetinsg which can be annoying and also people table blocking with laptops and take aways which is annoying as the staff do nothing to point out that only food and drink that has been paid for to be consumed on the premises is allowed and not take aways.

Quite a big Costa with different sorts of seating. More outside seating than usual - very pleasant for us in the sun. Friendly, cheery staff. The usual nice, but unexceptional coffee and cakey things.

This Costa is ideally located in Welwyn Garden City if you are on a days out shopping, with plenty of space to sit. The coffee shop is nice and light and service is reasonable.The main gripe is that the coffee is far from cheap and if you want anything to eat it is an eye watering price.

I'm a regular at Costa Coffee - here on Howardsgate, in Stevenage Old Town and wherever I happen to be in London or elsewhere. The coffee is reliable and the baristas are well-trained to cope with even unusual concoctions.This Costa Coffee tends to be busy most days and, on warm days, you'll always have problems finding a seat outside on the pavement - perhaps just as well as this is where you'll find the smokers! Inside, there are comfortable seating areas, although it does get it a bit noisy sometimes and there aren't always newspapers on the racks. The coffee, however, is always good.

Not all coffee shops in Welwyn Garden have comfy chairs and places for a chat. To be fair, this Costa is 'variable'. It has outside space, a more functional space near the counter - but it does have chairs you can sink into and be private. We come here for that reason. The coffee, as with Costa generally, is 'double-shot' and quite strong. The tables are not always clear. The staff are, however, friendly and courteous. On balance, we choose this WGC shop if we want to talk, rather than just pop in and out.

Visited the welwyn costa for a cold drink,the service was a bit slow and there were many tables that had not been cleared.The main doors are kept open so you get a lovely smell of cigarettes blowing into the building.I will make sure it's a takeaway next time and sit in the park opposite.

I have been to this particular costas several times. It is well positioned & comfortable. The Staff are ok. I just find the Coffee bitter in all costas.

I live in WGC so I visit regularly every other week. The service in this place can be slow but that's because its always busy.....which is a good sign. You can grab a coffee here just before you go off to London or Cambridge as the station is a couple of minutes away in the covered howard centre which is good for shopping too!

For a change decided to give Costa Coffee in Welwyn Garden City a try. The “medio” cappuccino was huge, but did not have much taste to it. The Raspberry Ripple Fancy was nice. There was a magazine rack on the wall, but no magazines or newspapers to read. I arrived with a young child asleep in a push chair – for once (as it does not happen often) the cashier said she would bring the drinks and refreshments over to me – thank you so much.Situated at the bottom of Howardsgate Costa Coffee does look across the garden area in one direction and towards the Howard Center in another (Cafe is situated on a corner).All together quite average and typical of a coffee chain – will try and stick with independent cafes in the future.

When the shop is busy why do the management let groups if kids sit around sharing one drink. Not good practice

Costa is just the best! Excellent products and service. Delicious coffee and a good choice of tasty cakes or pastries.

Another place I'm a regular. Costas Welwyn Garden City is just outside the Howard Centre and a popular haunt with residents and town centre workers. A fair choice of paninis, sandwiches etc and plenty of cakes to choose from. On occasions its popularity means there is a queue out to the door but that's a matter of luck and timing.
