The best restaurants serving Italian food in East of England

A strange experience. When we arrived, we didn’t get shown to a table and were told to just sit anywhere. The waiter didn’t seem interested in taking anyone’s order and we had to get his attention numerous times to be served. There also seemed to be some staff meeting going on in the middle of the restaurant which made us feel like we weren’t supposed to be there. The food came quick enough once ordered but was cold unfortunately.

Brilliant food. Had many times (at least 20) great range - polite staff -excellent drink options .beautiful decor and building . All in all a fantastic dining experience for friends and families , or just anyone who wants to try Italian food (or indeed indulge again!!!)

Me and my family have had Breakfast/Dinner here many times and it's always been first class. The service, food, cleanliness etc has always been great. The staff couldn't be more helpful. :-)

We went along at about half seven on a Saturday night. It was not empty, but far from full. The little shots of lemon stuff were never really explained. The food was OK. The fondue starter was probably not quite supposed to be like that, it seemed that they had cobbled it a bit. The salami pizza was nice, but the toppings did fall of the base more than is common with pizzas. The waitress was good, making us all individual bills, even though we had not asked for that. The parking was good on the Leisure Park there and it was handy for the station. I would go along again, if invited, but I would probably not initiate a booking.

I have always liked Prezzo, but not any more. The food was poor quality, small portions and extremely overpriced. The staff were however attentive and friendly.

I visited with a couple friends this weekend and can’t praise our waiting staff more highly. We were taken to a lovely table in the front dining area and our waiter was so helpful. Made recommendations and looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was freshly cooked and really tasty. Such a pleasant evening, thank you. Highly recommend - we will be back!

We had a wonderful lunch to celebrate our mums 92nd birthday. The food and service superb. Nothing was too much trouble and we were not rushed. We would thoroughly recommend Papillon excellent!

Best minestrone soup in the world! Been coming here for years. Always a guaranteed great meal. Lovely venue, lovely staff, lovely food, reasonable prices. Thanks Nino

We were at the restaurant on a busy Saturdays to celebrate family member's birthday. We were treated with such care and attention from the management to the waiting staff. High quality, professional customer service went above and beyond to made our night even more special. Food was hot, delicious and delivered on time, with an attitude of "willing to accommodate". We are extremely thankful for the team .....

Took my family out for a treat last night, one pizza base was perfect the other one was a bit wrinkly on the sides maybe a tad under cooked did not enjoy it. Loved the cheesy triangles and chips, won’t be returning as the cost was enough plus why can’t we use cash.

Lovely freshly cooked food, hardworking waitresses ensuring tables are cleared promptly. Just well worth a visit

The service was not the best, we had to wait to be served a very long time that we thought to walk out. Pizza is okay but the toppings are below average.

My partner and I visited the restaurant for the first time on New Years Eve, the restaurant is decorated amazingly and the bar staff were very friendly welcoming us. We were showed to our table and after 5 minutes or so our order was taken, within not even 10 minutes our drinks and starters came out. Our starters were amazing and shortly followed our mains, I am vegetarian and when I ordered my main I asked for the dish without chicken, the waitress said she would make sure with the kitchen if that’s ok, she never came back so we assumed it was fine, when my main came out it had chicken in, a different waiter kindly took the food back to the kitchen and a few minutes later it was replaced. The waitress that originally took my order came to see where my food was and I explained it came with chicken she said ‘Oh’ and walked away - that was the first rude encounter. The whole time during our meal there was 4 screaming young children running through the restaurant they knocked into my partner three times and were disturbing the other diners too, the children were family to the waitress and there was a table with a few adults on again family of hers so they were getting her full attention and the rest of us were left waiting, there was many other things that happened during our visit and we were absolutely appalled. The service was shocking but from that one waitress in particular she was so rude to us and the other diners, a group of 8 were sitting next to us and when they tried to ask her a question she simply said ‘HANG ON’ and walked away they all looked shocked. We were never offered more drinks and wasn’t even offered a dessert menu. When we eventually got someone’s attention to ask for the bill we then waited over 20 minutes to receive it. As we were leaving the someone on a different table asked for the dish I had but without mushrooms, the waitress started laughing and said ‘I’m only laughing as someone just ordered it with no chicken’ and started joking about my order very loudly next to us.

Pre ordered my dinner via the website. 30 minutes before it was due to be delivered, I got a notification to inform me that it was cancelled. When I called up, the lady was extremely rude, stating they are only accepting collections, I suggested they put a note of this somewhere. I asked if I’d receive my order if I ordered via a food delivery service, she was again rude & patronising.
