The food was really delicious, the ingredients used were of very high quality. Our contemporary waiter was helpful and friendly, and provided great satisfaction with his service.

I went to Zizzi Benet for the first time and I was very surprised by the quality of the food, being Italian it is nice to find a place where you can feel a bit at home. I was served by Giusy and it was wonderful to be able to speak with her in Italian and she was able to recommend some excellent dishes that chef Darko cooked for me. I was really satisfied, I will definitely come back.

It has now become a fixed stop in which to dine before or after the theater (it's right next door) Youthful atmosphere and friendly staff.

One of the best meals in our life. A lot of gluten-free food and it is delicious.

Last Saturday i had an amazing lunch at this restaurant, i was served by Giusy , a lovely lady with great manners and amazing service skills , i am honestly impressed.

Well-kept furnishings with open kitchen. Very kind staff who looked after us carefully from start to finish. Even though we were in rush hour on a Saturday, the service was very fast.

This Sunday a blonde girl in a black t-shirt served us. Her attitude was horrible for a restaurant. She didn't even look at us in the face and looked at everyone very badly. I don't know who the boss is or who hires people, but I will never go back.

Poor service overall. Food presentation could have been better, brought dessert out without a spoon, waited over 5 minutes to get one and in the end had to go to kitchen counter to get one. Asked for the bill, waited ages, others paying that asked after us. In the end had to go to counter to pay. Won't be returning!

Booked a table in advance for pre-show dinner. Had to queue simply because there was no one seating customers. Service quite efficient at first - drinks and main course came quite quickly - but garlic bread was quite burnt so tasted bitter. I had the pasta Ragu which was a little cold on top but ok when stirred, just a little sweet for my tastes and actually not as nice as Tesco Finest ready meal version! Also had a large heel of cheese dropped on the top - obviously the end of the block from shavings and not attractive or edible. Hubby had the chorizo carbonara which was absolutely divine and highly recommended (serious order envy 🤣) We had some time to kill so thought we'd order dessert. Took ages for waiter to notice us sat with empty plates and ages for him to bring a dessert menu when asked. We eventually ordered our desserts but 25 minutes later when they still hadn't arrived we had to leave or we'd have been late for our show (We'd been in the restaurant for an hour and a half at this point and only had 1 course!) How long does it take to put a slice of cheesecake on a plate?! Went to desk to pay, as there was no chance of catching a servers attention, where the very helpful and apologetic staff member removed the desserts from our bill, but it made for quite a stressful end to our experience. The restaurant is desperately under staffed and the staff are not attentive - our waiter passed us numerous times and could see we still hadn't been served but made no effort to help (he only seemed to take orders and bring drinks) and the people on the table next to us had to request cutlery when their food arrived and repeatedly ask for their drinks which eventually turned up halfway through their meal! The person who takes your order is not the person who brings it and the food servers seem to be teenagers with absolutely no people skills who just plonk the plates down and run. Everyone is run off their feet and it all seemed a bit chaotic. Overall a bit of a disappointing and slightly stressful experience, and not cheap. Needs a lot more staff and more attention to customers. Maybe it was just a bad night but I'm not sure we'd return and would hesitate to recommend based on this experience.

The good stuff - the food is pretty good, perhaps a little expensive even for Cambridge. The staff were friendly and courteous. The bad stuff - the restaurant is cold, I am not a fan of wearing a coat in doors. My wife ended up in a coat and scarf, and my daughter kept a woolly hat on all meal. The service was initially spot on, but on finishing the main meal we waited 20 mins. We gave up and ordered desert on the app. After another 20 mins I asked if we could get the deserts and they were brought promptly. The restaurant is tired with holes in the plaster work, and does not feel clean.

Very slow service. We had to leave. 30 min without any progress. Horrible.

Really disappointing. We arrived at 8:10 (the restaurant closes at 10pm), to a staff member informing us "the pizza chef leaves in 5 minutes, so you gotta order the pizzas NOW". We order the pizzas, which arrive cold (? despite the chef rushing to leave?). Drinks and starters all come after the pizzas (which "had to be ordered NOW"). The bit of the party that wanted things other than pizzas wait for another 30 minutes for their mains. The restaurant is only about 20% busy.. Then, folks at the next table start ordering and receiving a bunch of pizzas, about 45 minutes after we were told the chef is leaving (those guys were already at the table when we arrived?). I asked a waiter and she said they "pre-ordered" (?). Just a really strange, chaotic time. We've been coming here for years and it's really been going downhill. A pity..

Although the food & service were good, we waited for about 45 mins between starter and main (not great when 4 of your party are young kids). When the mains arrived 2 were missing, so had to be reordered. They did come fairly quickly, but looked rushed compared to the others. Other than that, the Tiramisu was still a bit frozen & the Warm Chocolate Melt was cold! I suspect the kitchen was understaffed. Not the worst experience ever, but enough to make me think twice about going back.

The building is stunning and central. The server did ask about allergies which was excellent service. Drinks were served fast, no starters just main and sides. I am a Vegetarian and there are a few options, I went for Pizza. Now it came out cold, I don't mean the toppings, the base was freezing. So I did have to ask for it to be warmed up. At this point it was taken away and returned, warmer but not warm and now with wilted veg and soggy cold base. I can say I have only ever returned the meal once before, we did offer to pay for it, but the server kindly removed it from the bill. What's more annoying is the place was quiet so no excuse. There are so many food options in town, I would find one, and to our lovely server I hope you find a new establishment to work at as you are lost there.

Absolutely disgusting! My wife and I booked a table at Zizzi's, Bene't St, Cambridge prior to attending a show. We were shown to our table which was in front of the open kitchen area and near to the door where the staff enter to take the dirty dishes and cutlery etc. The door was fully open and we could see that all the dirty plates and cutlery were strewn all over the floor in the corridor, some in green 'Tesco delivery style' crates, some on the floor. There was also rubbish on the floor too, looked like a rubbish bag had been split open and the rubbish just left and ignored. Not only was the rubbish in the corridor, it was in the restaurant side and in front of the disabled toilet door which is to the left of the kitchen door. Staff were just walking all over it. We even saw a member of the kitchen staff retrieve a plate or dish from the dirty pile on the floor and take it back to the kitchen.....Needless to say we didn't order any food! When we approached 2 members of staff about the issue, one lied to us stating that there wasn't any plates etc on the floor in the corridor and the other told us it was just and exceptionally busy day!!! The restaurant was nearly empty bar about 4 tables of people. Needless to say we will never eat in a Zizzi's again and will be reporting this to the local authority H&H dept for routine inspections to be carried out!!!

Our waiter henry gave us 5 star service, and when there was a problem with my wifes pizza he rectified it quickly and without a fuss, top marks

Absolutely fabulous place to eat. Upon arrival we were made very welcome by Nikola who was so polite and attentive all evening, a great asset to front of house. As for our food, magnificent from start to finish, the risotto is absolutely superb, the best I have ever had, and the pizza picante. And the raspberry Collins cheesecake is too die for. The restaurant has a great feel and buzz to it, would visit Cambridge again just to eat there.

Food was very nice, arrived quickly with some different varieties on classic foods. But also provided the easy reliable options for picky eaters.

Terrible waitress service..our drinks took over a half hour to arrive after our food and they forgot our water, it never appeared! Our starter was wrong, our main meal was mediocre..two of us had the beef in a dough bowl, beef was inedible..so fatty! Our waitress eventually brought our bill over after avoiding eye contact for 15mins, we were given the wrong bill..after trying to get her attention for a further 15mins we eventually paid up and were estactic to leave. Avoid during busy periods..luckily we didn't miss our show!

Nice waiter but messed up our starters which arrived as sides. Unbelievably they were barely warm when eventually arrived so had to send them back! Rest of food was delicious but this is only our second visit and had an issue first time! Coffee ice cream served in a sundae instead of salted caramel. Hopefully, third time lucky......

Place is so grand and spacious, zizzi is situated in historic building. We had come to meet our son on weekend who has just started uni so had no reservation. Interiors are beautiful and loved the wall with sign” Life is a beautiful ride” We felt so welcomed by staff here, despite no reservation we got table within 15-20 mins on Saturday night. Vlad D served our table, and he was so much happy and cheerful person, enjoying and doing his job to the best creating that friendly, positive vibes for guests. We had ordered primavera pizzas, vegan rainbow lasagne, salted caramel brownie, tiramisu. Food was nice though pizzas were little more thinner than what we are used to eating at zizzi’s in London. Lasagne I felt was not generous in vegetables/ stuffing. I wanted to try their festive gnocchi from special menu but that was not available, so need to visit again some zizzi to try festive menu of this year. We had good time here, staff is very cordial and we love zizzi anyways. Will be visiting this branch again.

When I travel abroad I always like to eat typical local food but after two weeks in the UK I felt the need to eat Italian food and Zizzii was the place where I could enjoy this. The food made me feel like I was in Italy and I also really appreciated the presence of Italian staff with whom I immediately felt at home. I highly recommend it.

The food was phenomenal and very lively. This place appeared ro be the spot for a lot of people. Our waiter, Cade, did an exceptional job. He was helpful when choosing our meals and very nice. When back in the area, we will be back.

I visited Zizzi Benet street on Friday with my family and I was very satisfied with the service. The waiters were all very friendly. Our lunch was very good. And there was a great atmosphere. I hope I can visit Zizzi again soon.

Disappointing meal. The food was distinctly average, my main course pizza was a little under cooked and warm not hot. We asked to be moved to a different table as we were seated near the almost always open front doors so felt cold and a draft all evening. Staff said they'd ask their Manager, but no one came to move us or to apologise for not moving us. Felt the staff looked untidy and disinterested. Would not return to this restaurant.

Appalling service. Came for my mums birthday to have a good time and had to wait almost 2 hours for starters, which arrived cold. Staff spend a good deal of time simply walking around, and not picking up food from the kitchen.

I usually love Zizzi… however, i doubt I’ll be returning. We made a reservation for 6pm, before a showing at the corn exchange at 7:30. We were sat, and then ignored for 20 minutes, before finally being spoken to. We had tried to order via the app, for an alleged ‘speedy order’, however, nothing is speedy about an order you can’t place. We then proceed to have to wait for another 15 minutes for drinks. One of us did not enjoy our drink, so ordered another. This one took 25 minutes to come, and only after it was chased up. In this time, 35 minutes after ordering, we received one of the two starters, without any mention of the other. It was another 10 minutes before we grabbed a waitresses attention, and she bought it over. Eventually, 1 hour 15mins after we had sat down, our mains were brought over. The food was delicious as usual, however, we were left with very minimal time to eat. Consequently, we had to abort the deserts we had ordered. While still eating, we asked for the bill to avoid missing our show. I had been very clear that we would not be paying the service charge, and that I had a discount to be applied to the bill. The waitress tried to still charge us for the deserts that we did not receive, and then claimed we could only apply the discount to one dish. Eventually, she sorted the bill, and the charge was a closer representation of the experience. I understand that’s sometimes restaurants can get busier than expected, and suffer from staffing issues. However, failing to apologise once for the poor service and delays, and attempting to charge us for dishes we didn’t have is unacceptable and completely changed my perception of the restaurant.

Coffee ordered with drinks, after I ask 2 with different waiter, my waiter ignore me when trying to get contact. Asked olive Oil, confirmed they I will get… I had to get it my self. Time to pay, they put in my machine the 11 pounds tip. Tables are moving even if the restaurant had free good tables. Shame food was almost perfect.

Nice Italian restaurant in Cambridge

Very slow. Staff lack basic communication skills, such as looking at the customer or smiling. Didn’t bring water we ordered. Table behind us said their food didn’t sit right. When the food did come, forgot our child’s starter and the chicken was left off my wife’s chicken pizza. They then took pizza away and threw some cold chicken chunks on top and brought it back. Needless to say, the food didn’t sit right with us either :-( Disappointed.

Stopped at zizi to have lunch whilst exploring Cambridge.First time trying zizi's the food was lovely and freshly made infront of the restaurant. The manager managed to sit us on a busy restaurant that was fully booked he squeezed us in before his next reservation. We paid £99 for 5 mains and 5 drinks 3 of those been alcohol which I think is a pretty good price.

We walked in off the street without a reservation simply because it was the first Italian restaurant we found. The service and food were very good and the meal was reasonably priced. Their pasta dishes and deserts are worth going back for.

8,50 for a three course kids-Menu! Fanastic!! Very friendly staff, nice athmosphere and affordable! Very tasty Pizza and Pasta…chocolate melt for desert made our day!!!

Tasty restaurant with a variad menu. Make sure to join the club for some perks. Also some great vegan or vegetarian options on the menu.

Good Service The menu provides standard Italian dishes. Pasta, risotto and pizza. No crazy options like steak, burger and fries. It tasted okay, but I reckon just like Carluccio's, the pasta was come out from a pack, not from stretch. No disappointment but no surprise at the same time. The portions are bigger than Carluccio's. The price was cheaper than Carluccio's too. But the dessert menu is a bit strange, most of the options are not Italian style dessert. The service was great. I was told that the mini pasta were just chips, not deep fried pasta, haha. The restaurant was bigger than I expected. Open and clean environment.
