We were a bit loathe to go as the reviews were not good. However, we were met by friendly staff who seated us immediately. The service throughout was excellent as was the pizza. The lovely Pinot Grigio Blush was superb too. The staff worked very hard during a busy evening. We were not disappointed

Yes it’s a Monday night however food and service was severely lacking in this prestigious location. Pizza is pizza and unfortunately not much difference at Zizzi. Pizza lacked toppings. Toppings scattered on some parts and so did cheese and everything else. At 15 to 17 GBP a pizza, the pizza top makes the pizza otherwise it’s just thinly crusted bread

Staff were lacklustre, at table and would not recognise table number, eventually staff came over. Starter was nice. Went to order main and app wouldn't let us. I ordered chicken, overcooked and no wonder they give you steak knife and Tuscan potatoes had no flavour. We cleared own plates when they bought us main meal. Very disappointing to say the least

As a customer, I came to the restaurant expecting to enjoy a pleasant hour. I ordered a pizza and wine. Before I had finished my meal, the staff tried to clear my table. I informed them that I hadn’t finished yet. Later, I ordered a second glass of wine. Just two minutes after the wine was served, your server brought me the bill. I told them that there must have been a mistake as I hadn't asked for the bill. The waitress, responded by saying, "We bring it automatically." Such a response is utterly unreasonable. Instead of apologizing, she displayed excessively rude behavior for no apparent reason. I asked for the manager, but I was told they were on leave. The staff member in charge, who was neither effective nor helpful, did nothing. I continued drinking my wine and requested the dessert menu, but the waitress ignored my request and never brought it.

Shambolic doesn’t even cover it! We were told 45 mins to wait, it took much longer than that. When the food finally arrived, it was burnt, or cold, or just plain inedible. Staff in the kitchen seemed to be prioritising the Just Eat orders and neglecting the restaurant customers. Food was left sitting on the counter and not bought to our table. Things were being dropped in the kitchen . The mocktails were awful - like weak children’s squash. Customers were leaving having lost patience. We were utterly appalled at the standard of professional service, except for our lovely waitress Alina who was a delight. She was so kind and so apologetic. Zizzis get your act together, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

This was the worst Zizzis I’ve ever been to. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait for food, there were only two serving staff, no managers and the chefs seemed to be dealing only with just eat orders and ignoring the staff in the restaurant. After well over an hour we were told both the salmon risottos were burnt and what else would we like. We were told the rest of the meals were ready but they just sat there and no one brought them out. Other people were sending food back and having long waits. In the end we had to prompt the male waiter that our food was just sitting there getting cold. He then didn’t bring it all out. One of the salmon then came out but was burnt. All the food was awful, my mushroom dish was slimy. There was no one in charge to complain to. Elena the other waitress was very nice and apologetic, we ended up walking out after an hour and half having no food that was edible.

We was booked as a large group , service overall was good , starter chicken on the hanging bracket was a nice touch and didn’t disappoint , salmon to follow which I found pretty bland , pasta over cooked not much in the way of vegetables like the picture on menu but the salmon was enjoyable , dessert was good anything with salted caramel and chocolate is a winner in my book !

Oh dear. I had to be in Cambridge twice in as many weeks. Went here in the first week with my daughter. About two other diners in a huge restaurant and we were served by a delightful staff member. Both our food choices ‘were off’ so we had to pick again. All fine. So this week, back in Cambridge on my own, I returned. Ah me, enter the world of the single diner. Of all the tables across the huge restaurant, I was sat next to another solo diner with another two tables away - clearly the graveyard spot for those on their own. I was taken to my table and no instant offer of water or a drink - things that then tie you to spending money. So I sat and waited. And waited and waited. A family of four arrived 10 minutes after me and were sat at he next table. A waitress took their order and still I was ignored, desperate to have a glass of wine at least. In the end I gave up. I found the lady who had given me a lukewarm welcome, and told her I was off to find somewhere better. She attempted a ‘let me serve you now’ but way too late. I walked two minutes up the road to an excellent chop house, where I was made to feel very welcome, was served immediately and at the end of the evening, it was them rather than Zizzi’s who had £55 of my hard earned pounds in their till. Please don’t treat lone diners as second class citizens and ignore them. Based on this experience, I know where I’ll be visiting when I’m back in Cambridge - a local restaurant who understand customer care and service rather than a chain where staff couldn’t care less.

I just wanted to take the time to review Alina, our server on Sat 1st June, the day of the Strawberry Fair. We had our clothes stall there for the day and after closing up we just wanted somewhere warm and quiet to relax whilst waiting for the fair to be over as we were so tired from the day and couldn't sleep in our tent with all the noise! My colleague had the idea of going just to get pudding somewhere so we walked until we found your Zizzi on Regent Street. We were greeted warmly by Alina and she made us feel so welcome even though it was close to closing and we only wanted pudding. One of our orders came out a little wrong and she was so quick to sort it out and apologetic. She was rushing around waiting on the tables and cleaning up and we were just so impressed with her service, friendliness and attitude in general. So thank you Alina for making the end of a very long day enjoyable :)

Usually love this place but today was an exception. Overcooked salmon main course for me, hardly any prawns in the King Prawn Linguine for my husband. Very rowdy family party seated behind us despite the restaurant being nearly empty at that time. Luckily they decided eventually to move of their own accord! Such a shame.

Used to love it here but not just okay thing time. Food was nice but pasta over-peppered and did seem expensive for what you get. Polite staff to show to table and main server, but understaffed overall, was 8 of us and 2 courses (with us chatting and not hurrying) took 3 hours… though we weren’t in a hurry the staff were very difficult to get hold of, visibly frustrated and clearly didn’t want to be there.

9 of us went to this restaurant after the show at nearby Cambridge Art Centre. It was booked in advance. Polite staff showed us to our table and after a few minutes came to take our order. Requested that we would be grateful if they could bring one of the actor's meal as soon as possible as they have to go back for the second show. No problem what so ever. In fact the meals came within 20 minutes of ordering them. All pizzas were delicious and the Rainbiw lasagne was to die for. Overall, very good experience and recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, we were shown to a table with two chairs and a garden bench with cushions covered in old food, the bench was too low for the table which we had to ask for it to be wiped down. Service slow, food was incredibly disappointing, pasta over cooked. Used to be a fan of Zizzi’s but will not go back especially with the prices they are charging for the quality and quantity of food. Such a shame!

Eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. It used to be a special treat. Not so anymore. It’s incredibly grim. Place is filthy. Staff aren’t visible or interested. Food is at best mediocre. It’s bit like dining on the Marie Celeste. Hardly any other customers. Just a few Deliveroo deliveries taking place. We won’t be going back. There are other, much better options. Oh, the wine at £27 a bottle was disgusting.

Food flavoursome, waiters pleasant and attentive and food arrived promptly. Downsides were that the pollo fritti fillets, though well seasoned, had the texture of reconstituted meat. My first two choices of beer were 'out of stock' and I ended up with a bottle of Peroni. The real problem was with the bill: we were first presented with one for £245 where we were charged for main course items and drinks that we didn't have. We pointed this out and we were given a bill which then included two sides that we didn't have. We sent back the bill again and received a third version amounting to £85 (some way from £275!!) that included an 'optional team tip' that we were not given the option to remove. After all these errors the waiter just said 'Sorry about that'. Very poor shortcomings - we really won't be hurrying back to Zizzi an time soon. Unless it's for a free compensatory meal.......

Always loved it here but went a few weeks ago and appeared to have a change in staff and management. Staff didn't seem to want our custom. The mains were really good and delicious … but the service (in a totally empty restaurant) is very very slow and poor . It was my first time in Zizzi and i truly enjoyed the food! Our server (dark haired pretty lady with nice eyelashes, wasnt able to get her name!) was commendable. She greeted us with smile and suggested what to order. Quick to act and also pro active, checking on us every now and then. (She deserves a raise or promotion!) It was 3rd of April, around 5pm and my family just finished tour of Cambridge. The Rustica Sticky Pig pizza was one of a kind. My kids loved the chorizo carbonara. The starter Fonduta Formaggi was also good, albeit the bread a bit hard but the cheese was superb. We didn’t realize what we ordered was filling as the portions are generous, def good for sharing. It was sad that their machine for coffee/hot drinks was not working that time but nevertheless, we enjoyed our dining experience there. We sat on a table overlooking the big field outside and it was a relaxing and nice view just looking at the people playing ball or strolling on the field. .

Very good Italian for lunch or dinner. They are interested in any food allergies you may have and are careful. The service is good and attentive and the food is very delicious. I ordered the linguine with prawn and they were delicious, but be careful if you don't like spicy, because they are quite spicy. I highly recommend the ricotta ice cream and the salted caramel ice cream.

Service was ok but we felt the staff were overworked. We didn't order starters as we were eating before going to the theatre. Main courses were ok, but the Calzone pizza my partner ordered looked small. The desserts we wanted were not available and the coffee machine was not working. We were very relieved it was not a meal to celebrate a special occasion. Won't rush back there again. Have already given up on the Zizzi in Benet Street in Cambridge. It seems that standards at this chain have dropped badly over the last few years.

Myself and three friends went out for dinner at about 8pm on a Saturday night in the middle of Cambridge, so we did expect a busy rush! However sadly the service was very slow. We ordered drinks, which never arrived and when my friend went to go and find out 20 minutes later where they were they were greeted with a bit of an attitude. Our food turned up before our drinks, however one dish was missing, after about a 5-10 minute wait with no food our drinks arrived and we asked if they could find our friends dish. Unfortunately the waitress did spill one drink over my friends pizza, so only 2 of us had food at this point. The dishes were replaed and the drinks were given foc after being asked. The manager was nice enough, but the staff all seemed a little lost and confused. The food was incredible though!

All in all terrible. Firstly we were given the Mother’s Day menu and told this was the only option. We ordered from it even though we didn’t want a three course meal and only found out at the end of our meal ( accidentally from a different sever) that we could have had the normal menu. When we confronted the original server on this they got very defensive. Secondly the service was diabolical. First server took our order after 25 minute wait then said they didn’t know how to put it in the computer system so we had to order again. It took 45 minutes just to get our drinks. Food was left on the side in the kitchen so by the time I got my pizza it was cold. When we asked for the bill and wanted to use our Tesco vouchers we were told they didn’t take them on Mother’s Day. Honestly they would have to pay me to go back!

Went for my sons birthday as he likes the porchetta with herbs. Food was good but not outstanding, I have had much better there in the past, but it was OK. Service was pretty good. Bit chilly so we were reluctant to take off our coats initially. The toilets really let it down as they were filthy, paper everywhere but in the dispensers, glass doors were very grubby and I just left. Disappointed as we usually like going there. 😕

The service was great and the view was beautiful! My friend and I came for lunch. Not super busy at open, but slowly got there. I appreciate how they sit the seats by the window overlooking science park first! It really made lunch enjoyable. The food was also amazing! We didn’t have to wait long at all, and it just was a great hot meal. I especially like the little crisps they give you to munch on while you’re waiting for your food! We will definitely be back

It wasn’t busy but service was ridiculously slow. Food when it arrived was fine but so it should be for £17 a pizza. Hate ordering through QR code but maybe would have been quicker who knows. Nice location but disappointing experience when paying above average. I’d rather go to any number of the good pubs in Cambridge serving decent pizzas

Over priced for a simple meal. We booked for our Valentine's dinner expecting at least a minimum decor for Valentines day, but to our dissapointment there isn't any, and there were no music at all, at least put on some soft music on the background while we dine. Total dissapointment

Been few times before and wasn’t impressed by service nor food but this last time was completely different. Very attentive waiter and the brushettas were perfect. Warm doughy bread and lovely fresh tomatoes. The place has lovely view and finally food and service matched it.

Food was cold.I would complain but then would another long wait. 1st option for main they run out. Since when you pay £2 for affogato. I didnt know you could call affogato without coffee. Tables were dirty , but they seem busy.

Disappointed really, I waited 10 mins to be served once sat down. When ordering drinks , I was told that a chocolate machine was not working, so I couldn't have any chocolate. Tried to pace my order by the speedy service, but the wifi was not working and couldn't get a signal on mobile data. Tried to attract a member of staff, but no one came over for about 8 mins. The young man was very polite and served us well. Our food did not arrive and.it wasn't until a young lady came.over and asked if everything was OK that I explained we were still waiting for our food.She went away and when she came back told us our food would be around another 10 mins. When It arrived, the food looked and tasted nice, but the portion seemed smaller than usual.

Went last night around 7pm. Put next to window, it was so cold we had to keep our coats on. Large draft also coming through gap in sliding doors. Waiting 20 minutes plus to order, although it was not busy at all and each time had to get attention of staff, who were all congregating together. Food was barely warm. No hot drinks when asked, as machine not working. Customer Service was more of an apathetic approach. Service charge added on bill automatically. Been plenty of times in past and really enjoyed. Won't be going again after this experience.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences in a while - I’m talking decades! The food was dreadful - the pizza was anything but a pizza - the vegetables were burnt (how can one burn green beans one wonders) - the lasagne was repulsing and even the olives tasted weird. The waiters were slightly attentive but had no idea about what was on the menu. And the restaurant was not heating. Tea was not available as there was no milk??? Ever heard about Tesco next door? The chef must have had his very first day! I’m sure every 1st semester student can cook better than this.

I was in town for the afternoon and needed to grab a quick dinner: I asked to be seated outside next to a lovely view of the canal and all the punts. I drank a lovely dry Prosecco, it was the only one on the menu but that’s understandable given the scope of the restaurant. I ordered two starters; the meatballs and the calamari, both of which were served quickly and remained hot. An Italian man called Riccardo served my wine and a lady called Eleanor served my food. All in all lovely meal, very very happy. Thank you.

Von dem Marktplatz aus muss man Treppen hinunter gehen, um in das schöne Restaurant zu kommen. Da es über keine Fenster verfügt, hat man fast den Eindruck in eine Club/Bar atmospäre zu kommen. Was eigentlich sehr schön ist. Es gibt kleine Alcoven und Ecken zum gemütlichen Sitzen, aber auch Tische, die sich nach dem Zusammenschieben für größere Gruppen eignen. Der Service war sehr freundlich, nett und flott. Die Getränke gut und das Essen sehr lecker und frisch.

The food is decent, though nothing remarkable—just what you'd expect from an Italian chain. However, the service was disappointing. It felt like the staff couldn't care less about the customers, unless perhaps you were one of their 'favorites.' When they got my order wrong, there wasn’t even a hint of an apology. This will be my last visit to Bella Italia.
