Pickup time on the receipt was 18:17 food was delivered to me at 20:04. Food was cold and not appetising after I guess sitting in the restaurant for that long. Can I be contacted regarding a refund

My food was 3 and a half hours late !

Cold and massively overpriced pizza

The delivery time changes repeatedly and the pizza was very cold

Stunning pizza never had before from pizza express...the tomato sauce is actually very tasty and loads of it ...the meat are real meat.... would love to dine in next time

Original delivery estimate was 7-7:20pm, arrived at 8:35pm. Called the restaurant while in limbo (‘preparing your order’ for 1h+) to be told they had been waiting for a delivery driver. Driver later arrived - two pizzas, both being carried vertically in their box, and pretty tepid temperature.

Love pizza express, but the delivery service always arrives late and cold.

Base was chewy. Ordered at 7:10pm and didn’t come till 9pm. At the time of ordering I was advised it was going to be between 30-45mins.

Ordered a delivery from just eat that didn’t arrive. No ownership or accountability from pizza express refused and the “manager” vanya was extremely unhelpful. They’ve just stolen £30 of my money and were quite happy to do so.

driver cannot follow delivery instructions as he was too busy talking to someone on the phone. woke by sleeping 6 month old up . pizza express is always lovely but had to enjoy it cold until the baby went back to sleep

Food arrived late and the pizza was cold

Had a great family meal to celebrate my husband’s 71st birthday. Food was excellent as was the service. However we were seated opposite an open window catering for delivery requests. It was very cold and we had to get up from the table several times to close the curtain separating us from the outside delivery service. When we finished our meal I explained to the manager, Ashley, how uncomfortable we had been. She said we should had reported our concerns earlier. We explained we had, but the restaurant was full and alternative seating was not available. She said because we had used our taste card offer of 25% we could not expect a further discount due to our uncomfortable experience. Please could you investigate the discomfort experienced by customers seated opposite the open window in the Southend restaurant. Our birthday celebration was ruined, with no acknowledgement for the spoiling of our party. Margaret Wall Margaretwall20@icloud.com

Marco and Amellia are such lovely waiting staff. They are so friendly and accommodating. I bring a young man with special needs and the way they take the time to interact with him despite him being none verbal is absolutely delightful.

Our server Marco was absolutely amazing couldn't of asked for anyone better, was so kind and attentive, making sure we were fully satisfied. The food was nice and fresh too.

Ordered the Cajan chicken pizza and the kids meal! It was lovely as always. We had a wonderful server called Hen who was friendly and chatty

Hen was wonderful and served us very well. The dough balls with butter was very lovely and definitely a plus for free kids meal. We ll definitely come back.

Ordered a pizza but they wisely brought 3 fudge cake slices instead. I didn’t realise I actually didn’t want pizza and wanted cake but was very glad when a tiny bag of brownies arrived instead . I now have diabetes and have lost 3 toes

Estimated delivery of around an hour turned into delivery nearly 2 and a half hours later and for good measure the food was freezing cold. Not acceptable service. If you are busy then do not accept takeaway orders

Good service and nice food, great for couples, families and groups, id suggest booking ahead as it was quite busy (in a good way)

I wish I could give zero stars. Never have I ever come across such rude people in my life. We made a £80 online order and after it went passed our delivery time I called the restaurant. The staff member who answered the call was extremely rude when I very politely spoke to him, he then said he could see my order and it will be on its way in 5 minutes. A hour went by so I called the restaurant again and the same staff member answered. He was extremely rude and sarcastic. I politely said if you had an issue with deliveries you could have called and we would have happily collected. The restaurant made absolutely no attempt to contact us and offer any alternative. They then said come in 10 mins the food is here it’s been sat here for hours. My partner went to collect the food and the staff were so aggressive it caused a scene inside of the restaurant. We have honestly never witnessed anything like it and will be making a higher up complaint. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Food we collected with cold and items were missing. Money would have been better spent elsewhere. Food all went to waste!

I know it’s valentine’s day but i ordered this nearly 2 and a half hours ago and it still hasn’t turned up as im typing this.

Food was nice with our waitress Emilia being exceptionally helpful. We Enjoyed our experience I will gladly come again.

Went today as a family of 6 and had a great time. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server Robin was absolutely fantastic. He remembered us from previous visits and was attentive and friendly and ensured we had a great meal and a laugh. Would highly recommend you make a visit

food was cold and the pizza was not cut into slices, why would I order a takeaway if I wanted to partially prepare the food myself. the delivery driver showed up late because he didn't follow the address correctly, however he was very apologetic and polite.

Always lovely food and lovely staff. Was hoping for more comfortable chairs after refurbishment. The hard wooden chairs are really very bad.

Turned up to our pre booked reservation on time only to have to wait 10 minutes to get our table. Once seated, it was obvious they were short staffed. After another 10 minutes we had to catch the eye of a rather flustered server, to inform her we were still waiting to place our order (no drinks order taken by this stage either). We then sat for another 45 minutes waiting for a bowl of pasta and a salad. Shockingly slow service. It seemed to us that they prioritise takeaways over diners as the kitchen was working flat out. As we had booked the cinema to follow it meant we had 10 minutes to eat. Such a shame, as the food was actually pretty decent but had to leave half of it 😏 Avoid if you have a timescale to work to. Sorry, but we won’t be returning.

Delicious food and great service. Ashley was really helpful with the app and made us feel really comfortable.

Very disappointed in the service. Booked a table Friday evening for 7 at 20:00 which was nice and tidy and the young chap showed us to the table, gave us menus was very welcoming and friendly. After that the disappointment started. We was sat at our table for 30 minutes with no offer of drinks or to take our order. A couple that was seated 10 minutes after us got served and had their drinks and was starting to take their food order. At this point we decided to get up and walk out. Clearly our money for 4 adults and 3 children ain't good enough. This was our second visit but won't waste our time with a third visit. The first visit was amazing, great food, service etc. But this second visit has soured our look upon this establishment. Can't review the food this time as we didn't have any, not even a drink. As we left a nice young lady politely said" thank you for coming and have a nice evening" The irony made us laugh.

When we come on Sundays Ilona is our usual sever and she is beyond amazing and we always have a great experience. I am delighted that she is going on Mat leave but I am also saddened that we won’t be able seeing her on Sundays. We wish her all the best

My pizza has turned up stone cold hour late gone straight in the bin I want a full refund.

Arrived completely stone cold. Waited almost 90 mins over the original time.

25/01/25 - Absolutely abysmal service. Put an order in on Deliveroo at 6.30pm still waiting at 9pm now had to cancel. SORT YOUR COMMUNICATION OUT IF YOU CANT FULLFIlL AN ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Excellent service tonight. NUNO especially who was 5 STARS. Gave us a discount on a side order because the app was playing up. Really nice gentleman and made you feel so welcome and was always asking if we needed anything. Thank you Nuno.

Arrived over 2 hours late. Restaurant had said it had been collected 7.27. Pizza arrived at 8.29 stone cold. Not good enough.

Wanted to order a margherita pizza, the app didn't have a 'No thanks' option for adding a dessert. Got round it by ordering a create your own with no toppings, which was a couple of quid more expensive. Don't know who's to blame for that, but please fix it. Otherwise, all good.

Cold. Freezing cold. I had to wait an hour for freezing cold food. Driver was at restaurant for ages and I was not his first stop which makes me think my food was waiting for a while. Have requested a refund but because of “policy” I am only eligible to £6 refund. Joke. Had to get more hot food as this was completely inedible.

Food is currently an hour late, seen over reviews who have had it as bad. Marked as delivered when it most certainly has not been. No notification that it will be as late as it is from either driver/ restaurant. Shocking.

Emilia was fabulous - patient and funny and kind when we were 3 sheets to the wind after a Christmas celebration. She helped us with our PE account and we enjoyed a free portion of dough balls and a side order which, in our inebriated state, we would never have achieved without her!. She’s a great asset to the team - Happy. Christmas Emilia x

11:54 Not Open! In response. I waited at the door, rattled it, it was 100% locked, staff were at the rear of the restaurant ignoring me, checked phone to check opening times, 11:54! Today 27/11/24.

Regularly go there when we have to take the car in for a service . Lady who serves us always remembers and recognises me and knows I’m allergic to tomatoes. She’s great , so helpful . Pizza express is my favourite.

Pizza Express is always our go to when travelling and I've got to say this is my favourite. Had a lovely meal Friday night, fab food and our waiter Robin was really welcoming and knowledgeable, he kept us smiling all night!

Ordered a delivery to arrive at 7pm, order was accepted and the delivery time kept getting put back later and later. Called the restaurant to ask why it was coming an hour late and was told “it’s not their problem”. Food arrived cold, an hour late and shocking customer service.

Brought Mum to Southend-on-sea branch for lunch today at a difficult time. Served by Mary, who was very professional, friendly, and kind. She looked after us tremendously well.
