Order never arrived after waiting 2 hours.

11:54 Not Open! In response. I waited at the door, rattled it, it was 100% locked, staff were at the rear of the restaurant ignoring me, checked phone to check opening times, 11:54! Today 27/11/24.

Delicious food. Henal our server was super helpful and friendly too :) look forward to visiting again soon x

Regularly go there when we have to take the car in for a service . Lady who serves us always remembers and recognises me and knows I’m allergic to tomatoes. She’s great , so helpful . Pizza express is my favourite.

Pizza Express is always our go to when travelling and I've got to say this is my favourite. Had a lovely meal Friday night, fab food and our waiter Robin was really welcoming and knowledgeable, he kept us smiling all night!

Ordered a delivery to arrive at 7pm, order was accepted and the delivery time kept getting put back later and later. Called the restaurant to ask why it was coming an hour late and was told “it’s not their problem”. Food arrived cold, an hour late and shocking customer service.

Brought Mum to Southend-on-sea branch for lunch today at a difficult time. Served by Mary, who was very professional, friendly, and kind. She looked after us tremendously well.

Henal was our very sweet server. Lovely lady who made us feel welcome, informed, and well-attended. Food was excellent as well

Henal was amazing for me and my husband. She is so polite and on the ball she is an asset to your team. The food was amazing one of the nicest pizzas we have had.

We love coming to pizza express. The service is always fantastic and the staff are always so accommodating for our family. The biggest praise for Emilia and Mary who are just the best!

Arrived cold and not very big for almost £14 for 1 pizza.

This restaurant used be really good and one of our faves , it would of been quicker to get my food if I'd sat at the table and ordered it through just eats and got it delivered to my table , we waited an hour and half for our pizza as the staff were prioritising there deliveries over there diners , after having to keep asking it finally arrived and then they forgot our side dishes and to top it all the pizza was under cooked and doughy , never again

We were late to be seated and in a rush. The manager did a great job at rushing through our order and we still made it to our show. Many thanks.

Henal was front of house and provided us with a warm and amazing welcome. Throughout our meal, she was attentive, funny, answered all our questions on food allergies, ingredients and wine 🍷 vintages. She's the reason we are giving a 5 star rating! Food was fab and drinks were great! More for kids to do might be an idea!

Visited with kids and in-laws. Food was good although a little slow out of the kitchen but I can except that on a Saturday night of Halloween parade. What made it exceptional was the service we received (older bloke with beard), we were kept updated at all times, we had various changes to dishes and all were explained thoroughly and no mistakes made and he just really seemed to care that we were happy and was a good laugh with it. Pretty unusual these days… really made our evening

Amazing food, can’t go wrong with the garlic dough balls at all as always. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Only downside I’d have to say is the place hasn’t changed its look on the inside for years and looks a bit worn but still very hygienic.

We have been Pizza Express Gold members for a while now Southend Pizza Express is the best Pizza Express around by far. The food is always to a very high standard and the service is exceptional! Emilia, Mary, Elona and the rest of the team brilliant. Thank you for always going above and beyond and looking after us. Highly recommended and you won't be disappointed. See you next week ;)

Absolutely atrocious, wasn't even pizza expresses fault but it has put me off ever ordering from again as I wasnt the only person that it affected that night and a family member has experienced this in the past

What a terrible experience. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Got our order wrong twice. Would understand if it was busy but with just 6 customers and an hour 20 minutes wait for a pizza. Waitress was very rude and sarcastic when we asked for a pizza box to go for half a 16 inch and she brought over a 4 inch box and told us to cut it up. This seems to me to be a direct result of poor management. I said to my wife after 5 minutes of arrival 'I think the staff here are very unhappy with their jobs. This is down to the manager who should be ashamed! Worst restaurant experience ever!

Worst experience you could have imagined. Had no starter just 2 classic pizzas and waited over an hour. Staff were dodging everyone to avoid giving reasons for delay, and when they did show busied themselves with pointless chores rather than make eye contact or communicate. What added to this fiasco was the horde of Deliveroo drivers standing inside by the door angrily waiting for there delayed orders too. Pizza yes. EXPRESS!!!! Far from it. You need to get your act together guys, learn customer service, and do the bear minimum and cook your pizzas on time

Order Never arrived and no one is getting back to me!

Time kept going up on our order, couldn’t contact anyone, and couldn’t cancel the order because apparently the courier was at the restaurant! I had to go to the restaurant to complain and find out what was going on. They made my order while I waited for 15 minutes, and the courier left and said he would cancel the delivery. Finally got my order 2 hours after our delivery time. I wasn’t offered any compensation, and ive been charged for delivery and a tip for an order I had to pick up myself!

Food cold, absolutely vile and ordered 2 hours and 20 minutes ago. What a waste of money

Placed an order at 3:30. By 4:30 it hadn’t arrived so I called up and asked. I was told the delivery driver picked up my order at 3:53. By 5 o’clock I called multiple times but no one answered. My order arrived at 5:15. The deliver driver told me he didn’t start work until till 4:15. So I was lied to. Luckily the delivery driver was very kind and honest. Shame on your pizza express :)

Delivered nearly 2 hours after ordering. No contact number for customer service. Restaurant didn’t answer or bother to call back. Unable to cancel because no one answered so had to say it wasn’t delivered. Now waiting for someone to get in touch to sort a refund. Poor delivery kid looked terrified when I told him to take the order back because we’d initiated a refund. He’d already said it had been delivered when we weren’t even home! My pizza came and was stone cold. Also all of the toppings had fallen off and it basically just ended up as a tomato pizza. They also sent me a coke that required a bottle opener and I don’t have one so couldn’t even have my coke.

I decided to go to pizza express for my birthday. The food tasted real good better than the pizza at other places. Service by Hen was amazing super kind and accommodating happy to chat. Only problem was that it was a bit loud but can’t help that when it was busy and lots of people there the food took a bit but then again it was busy so can’t blame that I work at a burger joint so I understand when it’s busy can’t get food out quick. Overall was a satisfying experience and would come back if I lived around this end.

Ordered a create your own pizza - waited over an hour and message “delivered” - NOT TO ME! Contacted restaurant and no culpability at all - appalling service

Our main issue here was the general lack of staff. We waited a good five minutes without seeing anyone until someone from the kitchen area gestured to us to sit where we wanted. After waiting again for menus, these were eventually dumped on our table by a passing server without a hint of an acknowledgement. On the plus side, the pizzas were good and by using the app, we had a free portion of doughballs. When we came to pay, we also paid on the app but again this seemed to upset the server who snatched the card machine away without a further word. Needless to say, no gratuity was left. We enjoy the food at Pizza Express but can't say that we'd hurry to visit this one again.

Pleasant evening for my granddaughters 7th birthday. Food is good, service very good and a nice ambience but nobody should be paying £16/17 for a pizza. The price of a pizza should never be more than £10. They are quick and easy to make, and the ingredients are not expensive. Pizza Union in the City of London charge between £6.95 to £8.95, so why are they so expensive here. Value for money is purely the reason for only a 3 star rating.

I highly recommend this place ! The pizza was amazing, the staff was very friendly and professional 💪🏻 the prices was low for how many things we had order 🤌🏻 the atmosphere was great 👍 even last night when I order it came 2 huge pizza (I wasn’t expecting it ) , the products are fresh ! ❤️ for sure we will be back

never had to complain about this place but the last 2 visits have been awful. i came the other day it wasn’t busy at all and few tables and a fair amount of staff we ordered food and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to come it was ridiculous people who came after us ate there food and left before we even received ours. no apology about the wait for the food and the waitress was very short and sharp wasn’t polite at all

Easy to book a table - nice, quick welcome - once settled waitress asked if we wanted any drinks, an once the drinks were delivered, asked if we were ready to order. Once order was placed, it wasn't long before we were eating it! The whole experience was Excellent!

Best Place to buy 1st Class Pizzas In Essex

Ordered at 6pm…arrived at 19:54 freezing cold. Pick up time on receipt said 18:45 so seems my pizza has been in the transit for over an hour. Will not be ordering from here again

Sadly the first time ive had to write negative feedback for this place. Have come here for years and its always been great but tonight it was understaffed, poor atmosphere, worse service and unfortunately the modern day uber eats or just eat delivery drivers almost out number the customer, leaving the door open, cold drafts. Pizza express seem more worried about serving these delivery drivers than the customers... poor, very poor. Management at P.E if you're are reading this sort it out. Maximum profit over customer service will always eventually fail, and you will only have yourselves to blame. No customers... no restaurant but then again you can always become a delivery service. I will not be returning... lost my custom.

Arrived at 7.15pm as a solo diner. Order and starter arrived within 10 minutes, waited 25 minutes for my main which arrived cold while couples and multiple customers were served before me. Sat by the window and mostly ignored which I find quite common as a solo diner little interaction from the staff. Best thing about my visit was my glass of chianti. At the time of my cmvisit there were only 20 other diners so not actually rushed off their feet. Bitterly disappointed.
