The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Really delicious food, which tasted really fresh. Our waitress Natalie was so so lovely. Really happy, full of smiles and couldn’t do enough for us (including making our desserts!!) she made our afternoon so much better. Thank you Natalie. My little boy thought you were great and he loved the chocolate ice cream!!

Great place for a drink and watch live music staff helpful and friendly lots of choices and some good deals too

Prezzo and managers Can't stand cheap food over priced for everything I will be not going to any other Prezzo in my life hope they all shut down! Can't call it a restaurant! I will be happy to leave you no star

Not been for a while. I find most Italian restaurants very similar. The menu is very decent with good choices although didn't check out food for those with special diets. All food was delivered promptly and was of a reasonable portion and came hot. Staff were attentive. Overall an OK experience. A 10% charge is added to the bill but you can request to have it removed.

First visit and wouldn’t return! Miserable waitress, never once did she engage with us or smile, very robotic! Wasn’t over busy but had to chase staff for previously ordered drinks. Food very average, we had calamari, very disappointing! Deep fried which we like, but it was all batter, the calamari was non existent. My partner and friend had Gamberetti prawn pasta, they said it was ok, bit bland, presentation could have been so much more with not a lot more effort! One of us had the lasagne which she said she enjoyed, and it did look nice. We paid in full including the service charge but came away feeling underwhelmed. All in all not impressed.

Had two meals here with family at weekend both were superb!! Authentic Italian flavours! Staff very friendly and polite!

Terrible terrible... especialmente la camarera llamada Irina. Nunca he experimentado un peor servicio al cliente en toda mi vida y esta dama debería ser despedida. Fui a Polpo junto con mi esposo, nuestra pequeña hija (14 meses) y mi hermana. Cuando llegamos allí, Irina vio a nuestro hijo y nos dijo que sentimos no servir comida fuera después de las 6 pm, porque (lo que sospecho) quería que nos fuéramos. Esto se debe a que vimos a la mayoría de las otras personas sentadas afuera y comiendo y a otros pidiendo comida, así que esto fue una pura mentira a nuestra cara. Luego le pregunto si al menos puedo darle algo de comida a mi bebé porque tiene mucha hambre y yo lo tenía conmigo para que no tuvieran que hacer nada excepto darme una silla, cosa que no pudieron porque solo tenían dos y se las llevaron, absolutamente eso es comprensible. Así que siento a mi hija en una silla normal y trato de alimentarla. Con esta camarera y camarero moviéndose me pasan diciendo cosas muy groseras, incluso cuando me disculpé tanto por tal vez estar en el camino, Irini acaba de decir SÍ LO ERES. Pedimos comida afuera a un encantador y educado ucraniano, y se disculpó en su nombre tres veces. La comida no fue genial, sin embargo, el único plato que apreciamos fue el calabacín frito. Así que sí, no vengas aquí. ¡Muy decepcionado!

After a main meal nobody has come to offer a dessert or anything else. Apart from us ther is only on table occupied. I have never been ignored for so long. It's been 40 minutes already and I'm still waiting while writing this

Just been with friends again and never disappointed service and food always great will recommend anytime !

A strange experience. When we arrived, we didn’t get shown to a table and were told to just sit anywhere. The waiter didn’t seem interested in taking anyone’s order and we had to get his attention numerous times to be served. There also seemed to be some staff meeting going on in the middle of the restaurant which made us feel like we weren’t supposed to be there. The food came quick enough once ordered but was cold unfortunately.

Prezzo voucher won on their promotion when visiting Port Solent venue, free 3 course meal for 2 off the Gift of Prezzo menu. As expected limited choice, but great options, portion size on the larger size. Meatballs for starter (4 balls)was a big starter, the bruschetta was also of good size and tasty. Mains spag bowl and speciality pizza, again tasty and piping hot, finished off with a generous portion of tiramisu. Overall great option and even better being free off a promotion. Recommend seating upstairs.

As per previous reviews and the experiences of other diners we found that there were 'not enough' front of house staff to cope with about only 20% of covers in the restaurant as it started to become busier approx 4:30pm onwards. Seated promptly but then waited over 25 mins for our drinks order to arrive at our table. Only two waiting on staff......... Our food order was taken but my wife's Lasagne main was forgotten about and didn't arrive with other main and side orders .......Sweet potato fries arrived barely warm to the table. After an upfront apology from the manager at our table we had to wait for the Lasagne and replacement fries. We were told these would both be deducted from our bill (which they were) and we were offered another drink FOC as a sincere apology from the manager. Gratefully accepted... Please take on board the negatives amongst all reviews for Zizzi Chester as you have a nice restaurant and food is good standard. Just need service to improve with additional front of house staff??

20% off food cost ok but 10% dreaded service charge. This should be personal direct with the table service not for the Company. Also generally over priced although food good. That’s us finished for now.

We arrived on a Saturday evening without a booking having been let down elsewhere and we were greeted promptly and politely. We were shown to a table almost immediately and allowed time to settle before our server took our order. We eat out a lot and get served by people ranging from awful to outstanding and we were lucky today that our server was Lilly - a thoroughly engaging, competent and friendly young lady that would be an asset to any business. The food arrived promptly, well presented and tasted great. We had a variety of dishes including antipasto, breads, olives, pizza and fish cakes. All the food was lovely. Overall a great experience made all the better by a great young server. We're not from the area but if we were i think it would be a regular stop for us.
