Ziniz in Doncaster

The BEST Italian in South Yorkshire. Having visited their Sister restaurant ’Roccos’ in Tickhill, I had to try Ziniz. The staff are brilliant, decor lovely, and the food is some of the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to be back

Bawtry was selected as a suitable meeting up place for us. We called in to make a reservation for an hour later but told just to come when we were ready (very politely) which is what we did. We were seated in a nice quiet booth area which suited us. The service was excellent from all of the young team (a credit to whoever is doing the training). The food was tasty and well presented. The salmon dish was particularly good, but the ravioli and pasta dishes were also good. There was a slight hiccup with the desserts but this was efficiently put right in an appropriate way and without a fuss. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience.

ZINIZ easily remains as one of my favourite restaurants of all time! If you're near or visiting Bawtry, then ZINIZ is a restaurant you can't pass by without going in. Whether you're looking for a complete dining experience or just settling for drinks, ZINIZ has you covered! I've visited multiple times throughout the year, but I wanted to say thank you for making my birthday weekend so enjoyable. Every dish I've chosen has been made with the freshest ingredients and has always been presented with so much thought. I also cannot thank the staff at ZINIZ enough who consistently go the extra mile to ensure you have a memorable dining experience. Their dedication truly makes you feel valued and appreciated! To celebrate my friends birthday, we booked here for a table of 8 and the customer service, ambience and food itself was outstanding. Would come again !

We had visited previously in July and ordered pizza which was nice so we thought we would return and order of the menu. It was a disaster! my husband 's risotto was dreadful raw rice drenched in cherry tomatoes & bright red unappetizing inedible I ordered a lemon chicken dish again very poor the cracked new potatoes were mush under the chicken in the sauce was huge amount of hard red onions mixed up with raw lemon pieces only warm in places not very nice. We asked for the 15% to be taken of the bill which was done and a refund of the risotto only.The manager did not come and ask why we were unhappy with the lunch? not interested in our very poor experience could'nt be bothered! no apology no communication very poor ambiance.

A great opportunity - and venue! - to catch up with a close friend for lunch during my 940-mile round trip from London to Scotland. Very welcoming ambience with friendly and helpful staff. As an Italian food devotee, Ziniz provided THE perfect location and THE most delicious food for our all too brief visit. My friend chose the Arancini whilst I opted for the Carbonara. Both absolutely delicious! Sadly, an earlier full English breakfast at my hotel prevented my scoffing the lot although what I did manage to consume was perfectly cooked and served piping hot. Both driving afterwards so no wines or spirits. Two hours simply flew past. Highly recommended for a relaxing meal and conveniently adjacent to a local shopping parade for a very welcome break. Win-win! 5-stars throughout.

We booked a meal for 4 people last afternoon on Saturday the food and service was very good. However for some reason I cannot understand they had a DJ on playing what I can only describe as night club boom boom music no singing that was so loud that we struggled to talk. After our meal we sat outside ln the rear garden area but unfortunately it was piped there as well we did not expect this while having a meal at an Italian restaurant. Loved the food and service but will not be in a hurry to go back they need to decide if they are a restaurant or a night club.

Lovely meal and perfect service :)) Never had to ask for anything, all the staff were lovely. The food was beautiful - spaghetti ziniz and pollo canella, highly recommend.

Can't fault this restaurant. Great food, atmosphere, decor and service. I've eaten in a few top Italian restaurants in the UK. Ziniz is as good as any of them. The staff are always helpful and the General Manager, Chris, is excellent and makes everyone welcome. Keep up the good work. See you soon.

Went with my wife tonight, for a nice late valentines meal. Booked a week ib advance. Turned up 20 mins before booking time, told that the table was not ready. Even though there was empty tables for 2. So we stood at the bar, with a drink. Watched three seperate couples come in and get seated, and party of four come in and get seated. Whilst we stood at the bar. Eventually, 10 minutes after our booking time, we were seated. The waitress/bar person was really good. Everything else was poor. Waiting for refills on drinks, waiting for our meals (after being there for over a hour, we had only had our starter and two overpriced drinks). The meals themselves, were very,very bland. I really did not enjoy them at all. And certainly felt like the food was not hand produced, more like wholesaler machine produced. It certainly did not justify the lofty prices. Then to top it off.... a £8.70 service charge! What service?? I will never ever be returning here again. If you have money to burn, it may be up your street. But if im going to pay top end prices, i would like a meal that actually tastes of something.. Really did ruin what was meant to be a nice evening.

We came for a special lunch on Thursday 28th December 2023. I had salmon on risotto followed by dessert my friend had special burger and dessert both from the lunch menu. Presentation of both meals exceptional and believe me tasted amazing. It was as close to perfect as you could get so massive compliments to the chef . The young staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely come back again particularly as it was also excellent value for money.

Upon entering and being seated, I was immediately hit in the face with the corner of a menu by the waiter. Obviously this was an accident so I wouldn't normally be too bothered but he wasn't particularly apologetic and instead joked that "there'll be a claim coming". I didn't think that was very funny considering he nearly had my eye out. After this, we ordered and we could hear murmurs from the waiters about our table as we'd arrived with less people than originally booked with. This mafe us self-concious and ruined the atmosphere for us. The food was rather tasteless and quite disappointing. All in all not a great night for us and we likely won't be back.

Amazing food in a really nice place. This is one of my daughters favourites so we go now and again as treat. It’s not cheap but it’s quality food and value for money. Our server was absolutely lovely, young lady called Emily. Lovely to talk to, incredibly polite and helpful. All our meals were faultless.

We popped in for some lunch on a whim and wow it was good. The food was outstanding, and the wine was really good too. Lovely service and ambiance too. We will absolutely return, and would recommend to friends and family.

Ziniz is a family favourite of ours. We love the ambiance and the whole dining experience. It was my husbands birthday recently and from the moment I enquired by email if they could accommodate 14 of us nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was really busy as it was a Saturday night but the meal could not have gone any smoother in my opinion. Everyone agreed that it was a great night and the food was delicious. My friend and I had a couple of nights in Bawtry and wanted somewhere nice to spoil ourselves and have a good old chat. We were not disappointed. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, staff attentive and food delicious. We visited at 6pm on a Thursday and we could not fault anything from our night other than wish we weren’t tired from our journey otherwise we would have stayed longer. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely visit again.

If you're going to Bawtry, you're going to ZINIZ! Excellent food and excellent staff. Every time we've dined here the food has been amazing! Not once have we been let down. Our family love this place! First time we've had a meal Alfresco dining in the courtyard too and everything was perfect. Staff are always at hand incase you need anything and the outside is spacious! Perfect for if you're visiting with friends and family both for dining or just popping in for a few casual drinks! You literally feel like you're home here! Thank you for all of our amazing meals! What an unexpected suprise !! Pulled into the market place feeling peckish and immediately stopped the stylish ZINIZ. Exceptional menu - great prices - professionally cooked and served - fabulous quality - generous portions and delightful flavours . There are lots of options in this small market town but don't miss this little gem - fantastico!!

Our first time here. Booked a table pretty last minute but this was no problem. My partner had ordered the steak and asked for it medium . When it arrived it was evident it was overdone . We were asked if everything was ok to which he mentioned that he thought it wasn’t cooked to his liking. The lady was lovely and handled it really well (sorry didn’t catch your name) offering to either cook a new steak or choose something else from the menu. My partner chose a calzone which he was happier with. The waitress also took mine away whilst my partners was cooking . I had the vegetarian risotto . Portion just right , flavoursome and full of veggies. Chips and side salad tasty and fresh . Service at the end was a little slow but overall an ok experience . I’ll give it 4 ⭐️not the 3 mentioned . Pleasant surroundings 😊.

We chose Ziniz for a family retirement party. From booking in February this year until the 4th June date for the party, the Ziniz team have been helpful and supportive. They kept in touch regularly helping me organise the lunch and offering advice on choices of food and drinks . On the day the staff were fantastic! Helpful, kind, and organised. All our guests were looked after well , both adults and children alike. The food was delicious, we had a wide range of meals and all the guests enjoyed their lunch. We had a lovely afternoon celebration and were looked after every step of the way. I would highly recommend Ziniz if you are planning a party or just want a delicious meal in a lovely setting

This place is a joke. Alghough the menu was full of Italian names, their reference to a Tuscan cuisine is an offence to the latter, at least from my own experience. I had a Minestrone that was made from what looked like a local frozen veg mix, with a bit of tomato and some pasta, without any trace of herbs or spices, let alone Italian in it. Tasteless. They also charged £8.50 for it, in the menu it's £6.25. My second course was the 'Artisan Ravioli'. The name suggests they have to be 'home made', the waiter 'thought 'they were. But no, the pasta was shop bought, they were stuffed with some tasteless paste, served with killed spinach and bland tomato mass. As I refused to eat it, they didn't charge for it, at least. Staff were unprofessional, they don't know their dishes. Nice courtyard though

Today my Dad & I visited Ziniz for some lunch. Previously I have loved Zinis but after today I will Never return.The manager came to take our order (I think his name is Chris). I ordered and stated my allergies (soya, black pepper & basil). The manager didn't write these down which I thought was a bit strange, so when our meals arrived at our table, I asked the waiter if he could check with the chef to ensure my meal was free from the things I am allergic to. He came back immediately to remove my plate and stated that it contained black pepper. Had I not checked, I would not be sat here now writing this review. This is plan and simply dangerousI approached the manager to discuss what had occurred and he said that he was sorry and that he "forgot", the next sentence he said was that it didn't go through to the kitchen! Needless to say we left without eating and without a satisfactory explanation or apology. Had the manager talked me through steps to how he would ensure this didn't happen to anyone else in the future, I may have seen at least a little satisfiedAbsolutely disgusting. In addition to this (but of course not quite so serious) the managers attitude is not customer friendly. He comes across as arrogant and rude. I suggest the owner finds him a role within Zinis that is not customer facing and in a position that would not risk peoples health or in fact lives More than happy for the owner of Zinis to contact me in order to discuss this further. Absolutely stunning food and A lovely restaurant. We are just past covid and I know places are re opening but the staff at some points were not as attentive as they should have been. But we had A lovely evening , definitely worth A visit.

First time here after travelling from Scunthorpe for a business lunch, if you’re bothered about this daft covid situation then you will be happy here as they have a great set up taking temperatures as you enter and shields in between booths.Staff welcoming on entry and our waiter was very chatty, food came in good time and was an excellent standard.I would certainly recommend and will return soon.

Visited here as part of the eat out to help out scheme. Only one waiter was fussed about serving us and was very welcoming I think he was Italian, (wish he had been our main server) :). However my main had part of it missing, the veg was cold and burnt. Very rude waitress who slammed drinks onto table and acted like we had done something wrong. The Bill took a while to come after we had finished our food and had asked for it. We were not checked on after we got our mains and had to catch a waitress to ask for more drinks during our mains which seemed like an inconvenience for her. Overall one nice waiter who seemed happy to be working otherwise very rude and incompetent staff. Food was also mediocre in comparison to the price, would not visit again after this experience.

3 colleagues visited , food good but service terrible , bill had additional food on it, asked them to split the bill into 3 which they did eventually. Waited 15 minutes for drinks to arrive initially. For a simple single course meal it took far too long , 7.30pm and left at 8.45pm. Not even ultra busy , poor show wont be returning any time soon .

Ive visited ziniz many times over the years! Never fails,always amazing quality food, beautiful decor and the staff are always friendly. Perfect outside area for the summer months. Will be back again shortly.

This is our go to for an annual meet up! Fab food, lovely drinks and great atmosphere. However, social distancing and COVID 19 rules were limited.

We were squeezed in early because there were a lot of bookings . There was a good menu choice with Italian andbasic British food. The attentive manager acceptive and readily cancelled the cost of one of our orders that was not too well cooked. Both he and his staff were excellent and I’d have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant

Friday night lock down treat this week is at our favourite Italian restaurant. Uplift slot booked easily via FB page, menu selection likewise.Straight in on time and all meal selections presented in disposable recyclable packaging.Super hot and fresh pizzas, crispy chips, mozzarella sticks as starters accompanied by garlic bread, then on to the pizzas, well cooked, fully loaded, very tasty . Special this week was the pollo Milanese, and what a piece of chicken you get with full portion of spaghetti, all in all great value .Couldn’t finish with out mentioning the fantastic torta della nonna , excellent finish to the meal.Good value and quality for as close to the real restaurant dining experience as you can get.We will be back.

On the 14th of March I organised a surprise 50th birthday party for my wife Zoe. The management here put helium 50th balloons on both tables and organised a lovely bouquet of red roses for my wife on arrival.The whole night was brilliant with all 20 guests remarking how lovely the food was and how nice the waiting on staff were. Thanks guys for making the wife's birthday a great night even in what are very challenging times.

We popped into Ziniz as a little treat, as we were in the area for a pre-Valentines day celebration, and we were very impressed with the ambience and comfort. The food was absolutely excellent. We had the Italian fish cakes (amazing!) and the bruschetta pomodoro (again, excellent) for starters, while for main course, I had spaghetti Ziniz with meatballs (delicious), while my girlfriend had the Italian burger (again, excellent). To finish, we had the ice cream selection and a panna cotta. It was great food, but when we came to pay the bill, we were a little surprised to see that a discretionary 10% charge had been added for service. I don’t complain about tipping, but I believe that tipping should be the choice of the customer, not automatically added onto your bill. However, the bill came to (including coffee) £92 inc service charge. I paid the bill, but when we checked the receipt, we had been charged for a dessert we didn’t have, and two coffees we didn’t have as well. When we questioned this, we were met with apologies, and they refunded the price of the items that had been incorrectly added to our bill, but not the difference in service charge. Also, the place is wonderful up front, but if you want to go to the loo, you have to go through a back kitchen and into a toilet that is in a tiny room with artex crumbling off the walls, and the toilet is loose on the floor. This is disappointing for a place that seems to pride itself on its exclusivity and prices itself as such. It’s like you have to go to the loo in a greasy spoon, but you’re expected to pay for the Ritz because of what is up front. This needs addressing and soon.

Came in for a rare lunchtime trip and were greeted by a rude, frosty bartender. We enquired about the lunch menu but after sitting down had to ask for menus20 minutes later. The phone rang and the bartender shouted “leave me alone “! Service was very slow, unfriendly and will not be returning. As a restaurant supervisor myself I always tip generously but this is the first time ever I have not left a tip.

Extensive menus, good service and excellent food. Easy parking outside, and a good atmosphere inside.

Didn’t book - but upon walking up to the bar 3 members of staff looked blankly when asked if there was a table available. Once got seated, had to ask to be shown the lunch menu despite being given the two other (more pricey) menus. Service was slow, food itself was average for the price - the sandwich came in a bun rather than sliced bread. Took asking twice for the bill before being given it. It was busy in the restaurant, I will give the staff their due, but would expect much better service when 10% is automatically added to the bill.

After a calamitous visit on the same night to sister restaurant Dante’s, we landed at Zinis. To say these 2 restaurants are under the same banner, they’d couldn’t have been further apart.We explained the situation to the manager of what had occurred earlier in the night, and he couldn’t apologise enough (Not that he had to!)

I ate here on New Years Eve with some friends, the food was absolutely delicious - pricey but the price reflects the quality. The atmosphere of both the restaurant and the bar area was lively without being rowdy or too loud, perfect for a nice meal followed by a few drinks. The only downside is we were told we would have our table for 2 hours, but before our time was up waiting staff began lingering around our table and we felt encouraged to leave early and then were asked to leave about 15 minutes before our time was up.

Quick lunch after a walk round the town, no reservation, no problem. Lunchtime menu for piazzas was sufficient, good size and freshly cooked. Good value . Good service and nice establishment.

We attended this restaurant with friends who had been before and we didn't know what to expect. No worries it was a very good meal, cooked well and served extremely well. The service was of the highest standard and the surrounding was very nice. We will visit again when in the area.

We stumbled across Ziniz many years ago whilst on our way to Doncaster Airport, and have been back almost on a monthly basis since. Not had a bad meal or experience in all our visits - food is fantastic and the staff are superb. Already booked in for New Years eve and will continue to visit - even though it is an hour round trip from where we live.

Having a meal at this restaurant salvaged something from our stay in Bawtry. The service was prompt and of high quality, as was the delicious meal, staff was plentiful and kept coming to the table to see if anything else was required.

I came here with my sister for a meal and some drinks, the service was great and the food was okay. I had the fillet steak which was £26 i found it was a bit burnt on the outside but I didn’t feel the need to complain . After our mains we ordered deserts which took nearly 15- 20 minutes to arrive which we found odd and 2 waitresses apologised for how long we had to wait, overall it was a nice atmosphere and I will defiantly come back just because the service was great

Visited for the first time for Brothers birthday meal, party of ten. I had Lasagne which surely should be a signature dish.... however it was cut from a larger dish, microwaved with some thin white sauce over it...poor and not hot. Pizza cold and dry however 3/4 of our party did enjoy their meal. Service in the restaurant was good, very pleasant however please do some training with the Italian? Guy behind the bar.... very RUDE and abrupt.... letting you down.... would I go again....sadly not.

The tomato garlic bread was very badly burnt; you could smell it was burnt before it reached our table and the women on the table behind us said they could smell it too. My sisters and I couldn't believe they would even serve it! The replacement was extremely thin bread with a watery and tasteless topping. Needless to say we left most of it. The manager listened to our complaint but was very impatient when my sister mentioned her icy tomatoes and he rushed away before I got the chance to tell him the steak in my sandwich was barely warm. I ended up eating half and bringing the other ahlf home to heat up the steak myself. The barman was lovely; the wiater not so much, the manager even less so. I didn't want to pay the 10% they put on automatically for service but my 2 sisters just wanted to get out quickly.

Arrived on Saturday afternoon about 4.30. The bar wasn’t busy, but was immediately ignored by a member of staff because a regular arrived at the bar. My husband pointed out we were there first, only for the barman to say quite abruptly at rudely, Ok Mate! We were served our drinks, and tried to find a clean table. There wasn’t one to be found, glasses a food remnants everywhere! I think Zinis has a reputation that it’s a very cool, enjoyable place to go to. This is not the case, very overrated. My husband and i vowed to never return. If your face doesn’t fit, you will not be noticed. Annie & Keith. Worksop
