This is one of the loveliest pubs you can visit with a real chilled out atmosphere. Always a warm welcome by the friendliest staff. Good pub grub with fabulous themed nights and Saturday pop ups. Definitely recommend! Attached cafe is equally fabulous 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I hosted A baby shower at hare and hound, and it was nothing short of amazing! The atmosphere was incredibly warm and inviting, making it feel very homely. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt special throughout the event. One of the highlights was the personalized baby shower cocktails, which added a unique touch to the celebration. The food was lovely, with a variety of delicious options that catered to everyone's tastes. Overall, the hare & hound exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it here for any special occasion.

Had a wonderful meal here for my 60th birthday get together. The food was cooked perfectly, the waitress was very kind and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. A very welcoming place. Would definitely recommend.

The fish and chips was perfect! Very reasonably priced too. There was a great atmosphere and lovely waitresses. We loved it 😋

Staff always very friendly and polite. Would recommend it to anyone, great country pub choice of beers hand pulled and keg. Specialty food nights like Wednesday is pie night, Friday is fish and chips night. On the hole a great place to have a beer.

Absolutely fantastic local pub, great beers, brilliant atmosphere. The bar staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I am happy to say they have become more like friends to me, especially Chelsea.

The Hare & Hounds is located in a pretty little village in the countryside, the staff are very welcoming. I have enjoyed lunch here twice now.

Great little local pub. The highlight of the place is the lovely barmaid Chelsea who brings the place to life. A good selection of beers and spirits, has everything you would want from a local village pub.

Pros: - The pub is nicely decorated/furnished - It can be a pleasant atmosphere - Food is sometimes served - There is occasionally entertainment/singers who perform Cons: - There is no regular menu at all. There are vague offerings such as the odd ‘pie night’ with a choice of one pie (or none at all!) or there will be some kind of food van that will be available. - The toilets could be a little cleaner (but aren’t terrible) - some music performances are a bit too loud to enjoy inside. I don’t want to have to lose my voice just to have conversation inside - staff May on occasion overlook you in favour of chatting to regulars The one big let down is the food menu situation. They DESPERATELY need to get a consistent, regular food menu, even if it is just the same certain days a week. Only then would publicising this bring in more patrons, the menu wouldn’t even have to be too fussy, just some choice and certainty would go a long way - Not everyone will be looking on their Facebook page specifically for the occasional ‘pie night’.

Bistro Night 17th May : Chef was Guillaume . Fantastic food including rack of lamb in a herb crust , scallops, beautifully smooth pate . All served by smiling staff in comfortable surroundings. Really enjoyed it .

We were staying nearby at our friend's so we called in to the H&H for a few cold ones. It's a really nice village pub , great choice of drinks , bar staff lovely and a welcoming atmosphere.

Tuesday is Pie Night. The choice was :- Lamb, Mince, Steak and Christmas pie.(Chicken,stuffing and cranberry). Home made chips Garden or mushy peas and gravy. I had the Christmas pie and was not disappointed the chips were perfect. A lovely atmosphere, staff as always very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub...had a cheese board snack, shared between two.....lovely. Staff always friendly and happy to chat.....quiet enough to enjoy conversation ( nice back groung music) so my kind of establishment....highly recomend

I went into the Hare & Hounds on Saturday for the first time and what a lovely reception I got from the hosts....made to feel at home! A proper village pub with character, I will definitely return

Decided to give this place a try as its local and it was fantastic the Sunday lunch was extremely reasonable for price only 15.90 for two adult meals and 19.80 for 4 kids and honestly the kids meal is enough for a adult the Yorkshire puds were phenomenal huge and delicious the meat was cooked to perfection as for the staff they were all very friendly polite and patient with the kids the bar was a cozy tradition theme with a lovely beer garden out front and i was amazed to see how welcoming they were when customers come with there dogs this really is a little gem of a place and a fantastic setting for a family meal quite and quaint area friendly locals and brilliant staff fantastic meal amazing prices cant complain about anything.

Cute pub, well decorated and lovely staff. Nice to see everyone so friendly. Only issues, clean the men's loos please. But a brilliant place to have a few pints

We have revisited again today and just like last time we were not disappointed! Sunday roast was delicious, our little toddler kept saying "mummy yum yum" and husband was still talking about how tasty it was hours after we left. Thank you and we will be coming back very soon.

We went for steak night, the steak was cooked to perfection and a good size portion. Gorgeous country pub with a alot of drink selection and very good price!! Cant wait to go back!

Fantastic value for money, really friendly service,freshly cooked food highly recommended. High chair provided and our baby made a real mess, started to pick up food and Landlady stopped me saying no problem I'll clean it up. Couldn't do enough for us thank you for a great experience - we'll be back!

Wonderful place to finish off a walk in the country. Had fish , chips and peas with bread n butter which were wonderful. Excellent fish . Washed down with a nice pot of tea as was driving. Nice friendly place.

Come here for a family occasion. Atmosphere was very friendly it was like being at home. So relaxing and welcoming. Staff went above and beyond for guests. Food was out of this world and loads to go round. Will defiantly visit again when I am in the area.

Worst Sunday Lunch I've ever had!!

Visited today with 5 members of my family for Sunday lunch under the new management and it was appalling. Firstly they did not have any of the first 3 soft drinks I asked for so ended up with just orange squash and water (as I am pregnant). We then wait for 1.5 hours for our Sunday Lunch with a very hungry 4 year old. Once it came i could not believe my eyes....my son had a children's size lunch which came in a bowl and consisted of meat, mash potato and 3 very small carrots.....oh and 1 pea!?! Then 3 adults came out together which consisted of 2 of the smallest roast potatoes I have ever seen, 2 carrots, 1 half parsnip (which was rock solid), 2 pieces of tenderstem broccoli, a very small stodgy Yorkshire pudding and some thinly sliced very chewy beef that my grandmother could not even chew! Also to point out my mother in-law did not receive a parsnip and only had 1 tenderstem broccoli. The other 2 adult meals came out about 10 minutes later. When my husband complained the chef/owner came out with an appalling attitude and said he 'didn't deal in mashed potato', it 'wasn't a carvery' and the food was served on 'big plates'. My husband did not eat any of his and did not pay for it either, the only reason the rest of us ate it was because we were so hungry after waiting so long. All in all I think I can safely say we will never be eating there again. The Sunday lunches used to be fantastic prior to the new ownership. And just to add it was absolutely freezing and we all had to sit in our coats!

Popped in to our local which has just got a new Management Team/Landlord who has started doing Home Made Pub Grub. The menu is not vast but has sufficient choice and variety and centres around good hearty pub grub but it is all home made, served piping hot and is delicious. We both had steak and ale pies which came with garlic mash and veg and a individual gravy boat. Well worth a try for anyone who wants a good value simple meal.

What an awesome pub it looks so nice in side food is fabulous great staff well worth a visit it's a pub that you must try out you won't be sorry I'll be back for moore of the pies I loved it frank and julie

Would be nice to be able to comment but closed when we arrived. Google states pub open from 12 to 11pm 7 days a week but this is not correct. Suggest they correct this to save others a wasted journey.

Recently just refurbished and the food was amazing, best thing is you can also take your dog! :) Fantastic, will visit again :)
