Trattoria Toscana in Doncaster

Llegué 10 minutos antes de nuestra reserva de las 7 pm y nos dijeron que esperar fuera! Finalmente se sentó y el camarero pidió órdenes. Había 14 de uso, así que tomó un tiempo. Tuve raviolis la porción parece pequeña y era muy mediocre en el mejor de los casos. Uno de los camareros golpeó mi silla CADA vez que pasó y también tocó la cabeza de mi hijo cada vez que pasó. El mismo camarero había estado claramente en un descanso durante nuestra comida como cuando regresó tenía un fuerte olor a humo de cigarrillo. No es el mejor lugar en el que he estado, comida bastante cara. Nuestra familia no volverá.

Ok, so nice but busy atmosphere... Our first time visit but I'm not rushing back. Ordered the calamari starter- very ordinary for the price. Could buy the dish from somewhere like Iceland. My salmon tagliatelle was overcooked. The pasta was fine but the salmon was chewy. Ok but disappointing. Other meals around the table were ok but noone was in raptures. Average at best...

Comida bien, precios razonables para la comida familiar de mitad de semana. No es el promedio más grande, pero no malo. Volvería a intentar algo diferente. Servicio bueno, sentado rápidamente y personal atento a las necesidades del cliente.

Me and my partner visited this restaurant after my work colleague told me about it and we went a week later and I must say it is a beautiful place to eat and the staff are really nice and helpful.we will be going on a regular basis..

Fabulous meal and friendly service

Good pizzeria, good food reasonably priced.

visited monday 24 sept, these professional servers, who unlike many establishments in modern eateries, who seem to employ any uncaring street urchin who knocks on the door, are welcoming, warm and genuine, the restaurant itself reflects this too, with table cloths and soft seating ( just like a trattoria should be) the background music is also traditional relaxing and allows for a nice comfortable experiance . We enjoyed every aspect of this early evening treat, the specials board offered gambas ( large prawns ) with a chilli dip and salad which we shared and was presented well and promptly, then a tweve inch pizza of our choice, we had ham and fungi, which again we shared and was done from scratch in seven minutes by the wonderful guys in the open kitchen, it was thin crust, crispy, delicious sauce, lovely stringy cheese consistency, and obviously put together using fresh ingredients, then a pasta dish with bechamel sauce tomatoes, ham , garlic, cheese, and salami , served promptly, with a smile, an italian draft beer and a lemon and lime finished this treat off for a nice early evening dinner ( this was seved 5pm till 7pm ) the front of house guys deserve credit as do the kitchen staff and manager they are committed to giving you their best , they smiled a lot were helpful and professional, i cant think what they could have done better, the food overall was lovely the beer was chilled and good bodied, and we only payed £34.00 OMG when high street takeaways are serving msg filled frozen and suger laden junk , please take this review seriously , this restaurant is a gem ! give it a try !

Just got back from the Trattoria Toscana, was not disappointed. Outstanding place to eat from the moment we walked through the door. Great welcome, great service, great food.

12 of us visited the restaurant to celebrate a 70th birthday. Everyone's starters and mains were very tasty and hot. Drinks were brought to the table as soon as we ordered them. Could not fault anything and wouldn't hesitate to return again soon.

Absolutely beautiful, everyone loved their food. First timers and didn't disappoint 👌. Service was excellent, couldn't do enough for us. Definitely be going again.

Very noisy. Virtually ignored when we got there by man pulling pints. However, service got a lot better as the evening went on. Pate starter was nice, cannelloni was OK. Nothing wowed but nothing was terrible either. Would go again for dinner but wouldn't say it would become a "go to" place! The birthday girl got a candle in her dessert and they sang happy birthday, which was a nice touch. The gentleman with the tattoos and dark hair who served us made us laugh, so fair play to him.

They have the most amazing specials from 5-7PM Tuesday to Thursday. Sunday and Monday evenings attract special prices all night. We've both dined in and ordered Take Out and loved the food on all occasions.

Lovely food served by pleasant helpful staff. The only downside is due to the size of the place it can be rather noisy

We had such an amazing, authentic, Italian dinner. The food was 5 star, the atmosphere was pure Italy and we loved it. We will definitely be back. And thanks to the very reasonable prices, I have a feeling this will become one of my favourite places to eat in Doncaster

Food was fabulous apart from the cheese cake that needs work

Great hospitality and service from all the staff , in lovely small surroundings, food delivered well to table and all guests served at the same time , and food piping hot which is always good . All pasta dishes and a few different ones were truly authentic and very tasty , but the pizzas are dreadful , nothing authentic about them at all , overall a great evening and very reasonably priced .

Italian ? Doesn’t have anything to do with Italian cuisine . Pasta overcooked , pizza is made of frozen ready dough (overfilled with cheese) Carbonara made of double cream , bacon and pasta ….. did you forget the rest of ingredients ? This place doesn’t deserve 1 star . I am sorry but I’ve just wasted nearly £100 for nothing . Big no from me , never again 👎

Previously I have been here many times came today for a family Birthday. Sadly the food is not what I experienced before. The pizzas used to be amazing now most definitely not. The chips tasted of stale oil ate one. The staff are not the friendliest sorry won’t be back

Those who wanted to eat were let in and were first allowed to sit on very old, disgusting chairs. The restaurant was very run down anyway. After we sat down we were sent out again because of the dog. Maybe it was better that way... The waiter tried to bring us back in when we were already outside so we could eat in the storage room… Not recommended!!

My pizza was burnt and soggy when I complained I was told not to return

Went to restaurant tonight 11th June 2024 at 6o clock ordered pizza ham and pineapple . Pizza served in about 5 to 8 minutes the base was black in places and the top soggy and under cooked I left the crusts ate the middle of 3 slices when I told waiter he lifted the base of the pizza in front of me .when I went to pay the manager told me the pizza was better than pizza hut I said I don't think so and that was the worst meal I had there he turned nasty said I had only left 2 slices but there was 3 slices and crusts told me to keep my money and never return .My family and I have gone to this restaurant since it first opened had many celebrations there gone near christmas for about 15 years obviously he doesn't take criticism at all give this restaurant a wide berth I understand why the place was empty

Went today for an engagement meal with my new fiancé and our child and was massively disappointed. The guy serving, the pretend Italian, was so disrespectfully rude with his glaring, dismissive way, barging past me and our child as we went to the bathroom etc. He spoilt the whole experience with his sour face and awkward way he appeared to take our order two seconds after we’d sat down. Strange thing is, he was lovely to the regulars at the next table. Food was mediocre. The rib eye had to be taken off the bill as it was tasteless and fattily inedible. The pasta dish was boring and bland. Luckily our child enjoyed their pizza. We decided not to get dessert as it took far too long for them to come take our order. Money lost for them as we bought goodies on way home. Much better Italian restaurants available.

I had the pleasure of trying the Pesto Chicken at Trattoria Toscana and it was absolutely gorgeous! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the pesto sauce was bursting with flavor. The portion size was just right and left me feeling satisfied. I highly recommend this dish to anyone looking for a delicious Italian meal.

Nice little Italian - stopped in on a long drive and was pleasantly surprised- food was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Will definitely stop by again when I’m next passing.

Just had fantastic dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday, fantastic menu, lovely family atmosphere. Food was superb, highly recommend, in my top 3 best restaurants in Doncaster, will be regular visitors!!!

The starters were ok, the calzone was a bit lacking in substance, the desserts were massive and very filling. Service was a bit hit and miss.

We have been eating at this restaurant for nearly 20 years 🇮🇹 at least once a month and each every time we are made to feel so welcome. The food is delicious especially the steaks. Always cooked to perfection! The restaurant is full from 5pm to closing so booking is essential. Dino and his team work incredibly hard to make each customers experience the best it an be. We look forward to many more years of friendship and delicious food 🇮🇹

My friends and I eat quite regularly at this restaurant and have always been very happy with the food and service. Tonight was different however. It's too long a story to tell but basically there was a mix up in the dishes delivered and when of our party, justifiably, wouldn't accept food that had been wrongly given to another in the party, and had been cut into, the senior waiter, along with others as a sort of Greek chorus, made us all very uncomfortable because we complained, culminating in the senior waiter saying he would not accept our bookings in future! We should, at that point, got up and left but being British and polite, we didn't. It was also the last meal we would have together in Doncaster as one of the party is moving 60 miles away, so their attitude spoiled the occasion. We are generous tippers, not this time! We paid to the exact penny. It seems that the customer is NOT always right at the Trattoria Toscana.

I visit this restaurant with a group of friends on a regular basis and we have always been happy with the food and service; not this time however. It's a long story but basically there was a mix up over the dishes delivered. When one of our party refused, justifiably, a dish which had been given to another in our party and had been cut into, we were made to feel very uncomfortable. The senior waiter, along with other waiters as a sort of Greek chorus, was most unpleasant and finally said he would not accept any further bookings from us! Teatt The experience felt even worse because one of our friends is moving away and it was probably our last meal together in Doncaster. We have eaten here several times a year for the last seven years or so and are dismayed and upset over the treatment we received. It seems that customer is NOT always right at Trattoria Toscana.

The food was amazing, Staff were very friendly and attentive. Had live music on tonight. Great entertainer and singer. Shame we had to leave early due to having work early in the morning.

What can I say? Another fantastic meal again. Everytime I come here the food is outstanding as well as the customer service. I was so full, but I did manage to squeeze in a dessert. Glad I did as the caramel cheesecake was lovely. I do recommend booking a table as it's always busy when I come.

Booked in early as we had a baby with us. Food was delicious good potion sizes. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service friendly and timely. Not our first visit definitely be revisiting.

Myself and my husband visited on on sunday 2/7/23. All i can say is BELLISSIMO! although only a small restaurant and it was very busy , i can see why! We had booked and we were seated quickly. The waiters were friendly and as there were only 2 of them they were working really hard. We didnt wait long at all for the starters, i had king prawns in garlic and white wine and my husband had breaded mozzarella in a tomato sauce. The food was so well presented and piping hot as well as delicious. Onto the mains, i had spinach and ricotta canalloni and my husband had beef and red wine ravioli. The sauces were exquisite and mine was bubbling hot, something i really like so a plus for me. My husband had 2 peronis and i had 2 pepsis. The bill came to £39.20, another pleasent surprise. Will definatly go back 10 out of 10

We really loved the food her and the price was amazing. Everything arrived very quickly and to a very high quality. The steak melted in your mouth and the mussels were divine. A hidden gem in Doncaster. We will be back!

Beautiful food service was excellent couldn't ask for better.

The service was extremely rushed. From the minute we arrived they just wanted to get our order and get rid of us. Admittedly it was booked for 8pm Wednesday but we had left by 9.45.

We were ushered to the table rushed to order our starters even though we were still waiting for another friend to arrive and felt the staff were waiting for us to leave (at 9.30 supposed to be open till 11.00) all the time we were there. Our waiter seemed under pressure and virtually threw our coffees at us good food but staff unfriendly and wanted us out we will not be going to this restaurant again.

Lovely meal out for an 18th birthday celebration! One of the nicest Italian meals I have had in a long time and my daughter said the steak in the cheese sauce was the nicest steak she’d ever had! Made a fuss of the birthday girl and put candles in her pudding and all sang her happy birthday! Lovely meal! Would definitely recommend and will be going back!
