Trattoria Toscana in Doncaster

Booked a table for a birthday group of 12, 4days in advance. Was told it's all booked. Called today to see if I could take in birthday balloons but was told a table had not been booked! Left me scrambling to find a new destination last minute

Went today for an engagement meal with my new fiancé and our child and was massively disappointed. The guy serving, the pretend Italian, was so disrespectfully rude with his glaring, dismissive way, barging past me and our child as we went to the bathroom etc. He spoilt the whole experience with his sour face and awkward way he appeared to take our order two seconds after we’d sat down. Strange thing is, he was lovely to the regulars at the next table. Food was mediocre. The rib eye had to be taken off the bill as it was tasteless and fattily inedible. The pasta dish was boring and bland. Luckily our child enjoyed their pizza. We decided not to get dessert as it took far too long for them to come take our order. Money lost for them as we bought goodies on way home. Much better Italian restaurants available.

I had the pleasure of trying the Pesto Chicken at Trattoria Toscana and it was absolutely gorgeous! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the pesto sauce was bursting with flavor. The portion size was just right and left me feeling satisfied. I highly recommend this dish to anyone looking for a delicious Italian meal.

Lovely meal and very friendly staff

Nice little Italian - stopped in on a long drive and was pleasantly surprised- food was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Will definitely stop by again when I’m next passing.

Just had fantastic dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday, fantastic menu, lovely family atmosphere. Food was superb, highly recommend, in my top 3 best restaurants in Doncaster, will be regular visitors!!!

The starters were ok, the calzone was a bit lacking in substance, the desserts were massive and very filling. Service was a bit hit and miss.

We have been eating at this restaurant for nearly 20 years 🇮🇹 at least once a month and each every time we are made to feel so welcome. The food is delicious especially the steaks. Always cooked to perfection! The restaurant is full from 5pm to closing so booking is essential. Dino and his team work incredibly hard to make each customers experience the best it an be. We look forward to many more years of friendship and delicious food 🇮🇹

My friends and I eat quite regularly at this restaurant and have always been very happy with the food and service. Tonight was different however. It's too long a story to tell but basically there was a mix up in the dishes delivered and when of our party, justifiably, wouldn't accept food that had been wrongly given to another in the party, and had been cut into, the senior waiter, along with others as a sort of Greek chorus, made us all very uncomfortable because we complained, culminating in the senior waiter saying he would not accept our bookings in future! We should, at that point, got up and left but being British and polite, we didn't. It was also the last meal we would have together in Doncaster as one of the party is moving 60 miles away, so their attitude spoiled the occasion. We are generous tippers, not this time! We paid to the exact penny. It seems that the customer is NOT always right at the Trattoria Toscana.

I visit this restaurant with a group of friends on a regular basis and we have always been happy with the food and service; not this time however. It's a long story but basically there was a mix up over the dishes delivered. When one of our party refused, justifiably, a dish which had been given to another in our party and had been cut into, we were made to feel very uncomfortable. The senior waiter, along with other waiters as a sort of Greek chorus, was most unpleasant and finally said he would not accept any further bookings from us! Teatt The experience felt even worse because one of our friends is moving away and it was probably our last meal together in Doncaster. We have eaten here several times a year for the last seven years or so and are dismayed and upset over the treatment we received. It seems that customer is NOT always right at Trattoria Toscana.

The food was amazing, Staff were very friendly and attentive. Had live music on tonight. Great entertainer and singer. Shame we had to leave early due to having work early in the morning.

What can I say? Another fantastic meal again. Everytime I come here the food is outstanding as well as the customer service. I was so full, but I did manage to squeeze in a dessert. Glad I did as the caramel cheesecake was lovely. I do recommend booking a table as it's always busy when I come.

Booked in early as we had a baby with us. Food was delicious good potion sizes. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service friendly and timely. Not our first visit definitely be revisiting.

Possibly my favourite restaurant. Always brilliant service. Always amazing food. Always a great price. Staff are lovely as is the atmosphere. We will continue to go here often. Recommended to all!

At the price it is the best on the planet

The food is always brilliant. The staff are very friendly. Small restaurant and almost always busy. Great atmosphere, we visit frequently for any family celebrations.

Myself and my husband visited on on sunday 2/7/23. All i can say is BELLISSIMO! although only a small restaurant and it was very busy , i can see why! We had booked and we were seated quickly. The waiters were friendly and as there were only 2 of them they were working really hard. We didnt wait long at all for the starters, i had king prawns in garlic and white wine and my husband had breaded mozzarella in a tomato sauce. The food was so well presented and piping hot as well as delicious. Onto the mains, i had spinach and ricotta canalloni and my husband had beef and red wine ravioli. The sauces were exquisite and mine was bubbling hot, something i really like so a plus for me. My husband had 2 peronis and i had 2 pepsis. The bill came to £39.20, another pleasent surprise. Will definatly go back 10 out of 10

We really loved the food her and the price was amazing. Everything arrived very quickly and to a very high quality. The steak melted in your mouth and the mussels were divine. A hidden gem in Doncaster. We will be back!

I couldn’t attend my friends birthday but wanted to surprise her and send some champagne .. when I called they said no … absolutely ridiculous couldn’t pay over phone !!!

We were very well looked after and the birthday girl was made to feel really special by the wonderful staff. Great experience. Would highly recommend the place.

Beautiful food service was excellent couldn't ask for better.

We were ushered to the table rushed to order our starters even though we were still waiting for another friend to arrive and felt the staff were waiting for us to leave (at 9.30 supposed to be open till 11.00) all the time we were there. Our waiter seemed under pressure and virtually threw our coffees at us good food but staff unfriendly and wanted us out we will not be going to this restaurant again.

The service was extremely rushed. From the minute we arrived they just wanted to get our order and get rid of us. Admittedly it was booked for 8pm Wednesday but we had left by 9.45.

Eat here regularly. Food is great and excellent value for money. Staff are helpful and friendly. Very cosy atmospheres.

Lovely meal out for an 18th birthday celebration! One of the nicest Italian meals I have had in a long time and my daughter said the steak in the cheese sauce was the nicest steak she’d ever had! Made a fuss of the birthday girl and put candles in her pudding and all sang her happy birthday! Lovely meal! Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

Great food best steak I have had in a long time

We had a family meal to celebrate my 75th birthday the welcome by the staff was very warm and friendly and we were quickly seated there is very good selection on the menu and after a short wait we received our food which was very good .This was very enjoyable evening. Many thanks to the staff

My friend and I came here last night and as always, fantastic food and great service. It's a lovely Italian restaurant in Doncaster which I can highly recommend. I had the Calzone and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. Both were superb and great value.

Went for a birthday celebration, and will be back

First visit and won't be the last. A treat for hubbys birthday. Food was absolutely lovely. A extensive menu to suit everyone, personally was really pleased to see a great fish menu but it had loads of chicken and meat plus your usual Italian favourites...

First time i went to this place, the service was above average, amazing atmosphere, i even booked it for my birthday. Its really important to tip good service! Well deserved.

Fantastic in every way. The service was great, the food was really good and the price reasonable. You definitely need to book to reserve a table. Highly recommended. 3 starters, 4 drinks, 4 mains and 2 desserts for a few pence over £100.

Booked for 19 people for my partners birthday. The staff were amazing, the food was all brought out together and was piping hot and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Friendly welcoming staff and delicious authentic Italian food. By far the best Italian in Doncaster by a country mile. A review mentioned small portion sizes but that is the opposite of what we experienced- They were very generous! Also that same review mentioned pasta trodden into a carpet, this restaurant has no carpet. The other positive reviews about this place are bang on, it is lovely.

There was a pile of pasta trodden into the carpet near the table where we were sitting. When we told the waitress she didn't apologise or clean it up. Food overpriced for the portion sizes.

INCREDIBLE food and even better service. Our 10 month old son stared at the waiters as they took orders, and they went out of their way to acknowledge and smile at him, and even briefly joined in a game we were playing to keep him occupied. When the food came out, without prompt, they brought him a plate of sliced cucumber, and later, an after dinner chocolate. We have never felt so welcome in a restaurant as the parents of a young child as we did here. BIG bonus that they actually have good high chairs. If you're reading this and trying to decide whether to pay Trattoria Toscana a visit... do

Just got back from our first visit to this fabulous Italian. I think it may have become our favourite restaurant in Doncaster. The waiters dealt with a very busy restaurant with ease. Funny and attentive. My mum wanted a different pasta on her dish and...

Very good indeed.....I had the Ravioli.......and superb as it was I felt it should have been a bigger portion! The service was excellent however.....and yes we'll go again I'm sure! 😀
