Caffe Concerto in City of London, Westminster

Staff were friendly, the juice was nice, the Honey cake was disappointing and bland. Just tasted like a sugary soft cream sponge cake. If you've ever had good 'Russian' honey cake, you'll know how delicious it can be, don't come here for it.

Alright, picture this: you walk into a warm, ambient restaurant where the lights are dimmed just enough to create that perfect cozy atmosphere. The aroma of freshly prepared dishes wafts through the air as you're greeted by friendly staff who guide you to a beautifully set table. For starters, you order a very nice caprese salad which is mozzarella sliced with tomato sliced and drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The flavors are a perfect symphony of sweet, tangy, and rich. Next, you move on to the main course – a succulent Lamb shank with a side of mashed potatoes and roasted veg and gravy. Each bite is a delightful explosion of tender meat and soft mash. To finish, a molten chocolate lava cake arrives at your table, they call it chocolate fondant , served with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream. As you break into it, the warm chocolate center oozes out, creating a decadent finale to your meal. Throughout the evening, the attentive service, elegant surroundings, and exquisite food make for a truly memorable dining experience. Would you have ordered different?

Coffee poor and pastries extremely poor. Service poor attitude. No creme pat in the fruit tart and pastry like cardboard. Scones heavy.

Unfortunately, my friends and I had an awful experience today in Café Concerto Northumberland. In addition to the slow service, both the manager and the waiter were rude with us. The waiter dared to sush my friend when he tried to tell him something. If you are a foreign customer who likes to be treated with respect, do not go to Café Concerto.

Came in for coffee and cake. Was seated by a rude (older) man. No menus and he didn’t even speak to us! after trying to get this mans attention for 5 mins we gave up and got our own menus! Sat waiting for another 10 mins to get served and just gave up in the end! Very expensive which I don’t mind paying the price, it’s expected in London, however with staff like this man and the woman behind the bar who couldn’t even crack a smile, I’d go somewhere else if I were you! Much better places around with nicer staff and clean!

Called in to Caffe Concerto prior to a theatre visit. We use the one in the Kings Road where it has to be said the service is very slick. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for this branch. Whilst recognising that we had not booked a table it was early before main evening service, the restaurant was about half occupied and plenty of tables unoccupied, so why show us to the worst placed table on the floor? We declined this and were directed to another, which was not much better unless of course you like other customers clothes and bags bashing in to you as they brush by the table! We ordered two porn star martinis, a starter and dessert, this was after the table next to us who were seated after us had had their order taken and then been served both their food and drinks! Our starter and dessert arrived together, the focaccia with Parma ham was delicious. The chocolate fondant did not follow suit, it was overdone in the microwave and hard inside, the exact opposite to how a fondant should be. Whilst eating our food we had to chase up the cocktails, the first lot after being slopped all over the floor by the waiter, were then replaced by a second attempt interestingly this time made by the guy who appeared to be in charge. No idea why they take so long to make considering that most of the ingredients came from a ready mixed bottle! A request for water to drink fell on deaf ears and when I asked at the bar if I could have some, the look on the bartenders face was pure disdain. To give credit to the staff, they do appear to be a tad short on the ground and waiting tables is no walk in the park, having said that, if you’re going to do something do it well, you can make or break someone’s evening out, and surely it’s better to be remembered for the right reason even when the going is tough?

Stopped off for coffee and scones. It has very impressive decor within. The coffee and scones were tasty although the latter arrived after we had drank our coffee as we had to ask for the scones again. Service was polite but not friendly and it is rather expensive, even for London. Will I return? I am not sure that I would to be honest, it just lacks a friendly atmosphere.

I know it’s central London but still I don’t think it’s decent to charge 250 EUR for tea and sandwiches for 4 adults Monday afternoon. I will not recommend this place.

it was an amazing place, one of the best small places where I have ever seen. I highly recommend this cozy place.

I didn’t want to leave!! Beautifully decorated inside, the staff were unbelievably polite, attentive and friendly and the food was heaven. We ordered the caprese as a starter, mushroom risotto and salmon spaghetti for mains and then a tiramisu for dessert. Will definitely pop in again the next time we’re in the area!

I enjoyed a great English breakfast here on a weekday morning before 9 am. The place was not busy and the service was prompt. Good options for vegetarians as well. Great for morning meetings.

Had lunch here last week, very tasty spinach and ricotta ravioli and excellent service at a reasonable price. Will visit again when in London.

Entró en la tienda de Kensington, ordenó una tarta vista en la ventana para 3 algo. Le di mi tarjeta de crédito a la camarera y luego dije: Luego vi algo en la factura 7. Me mantendría alejado de cualquier lugar con estas prácticas comerciales cuestionables. Si va, asegúrese de buscar la letra pequeña infinitesimal en los precios en la ventana.

Stopped in for a tart and a coffee. I went for the raspberry tart which was excellent and a Bellini which was easily the worst I have ever experienced. Pretty expensive too. Enjoy......

We looked at the lovely cakes in the window and decided to eat in Caffe Concerto. We pointed out our chosen cakes to the waiter, and enjoyed them well enough. When the bill was presented, the cakes were priced at £6.20 each, instead of the price in the window of £3 something. We queried the bill, and were told that the price displayed was for take away. This was not made clear to us at all and we were very disappointed. We never would have paid this price for a cake and would have gone elsewhere. We advised them that they should display the prices more clearly for customers.The cakes were OK, but we have had better.

Visited for a more upper-scale breakfast than our English breakfast in another place the previous day. Service was easily below average. Seemed to take forever for our coffee order. When the food came, I had to talk to two people before they took my order back (I asked for a cheese omelet and the waitress tried to convince me that there was cheese in a plain omelet). I got the impression that they were irritated with my request.To cap it all off, we paid more (almost double) for, what was in the final analysis, lesser quality.

Had a good brekky at this caffe. Lots on offer and pastries in window. Friendly service. Highlight is the prettiness of the caffe; pink and blush tones, plush furniture and fresh blooms. Would go back but the ivy down the road is much better

Wow! Popped in after a bus tour to warm up and grab a cuppa. Hadnt realised from the exterior that it is quite a fancy establishment. Looked as though the gateaux in the window on sale for £3.95 a slice increased to £6.95 inside which I feel is a little disappointing however it forced our hand to try the trio of desserts. For £13.95 each we had a cappuccino, very small Baileys (but nice touch) and a very scrumptious chocolate fondue with chocolate sauce and ice cream. My mum chose the profiteroles and alternative liquors were available. For the price we found our choice very reasonable. We had only popped in for a cuppa so were not really wanting to spend much and had we realised we prob wouldnt have gone in. A welcome surprise however it turns out.

I wouldn't normally care enough to leave a review of a cafe but i've made an exception for these guys. The young man who waited our table was just awful. He didn't welcome us, every he spoke he muttered. We asked for some water for our table which he forgot. The drinks arrived after we ordered food which is ridiculous - no apology of course. At least the food was bloody good. When the lady left our bill, she never came back to our table to check so we awkwardly had to get up and go the front to get any attention. The worst part is they weren't even busy, just lazy.

Such a shame for such a beautiful restaurant and lovely food to be outshined but unpleasant and under performing front of house staff to ruin it. We had to ask multiple times for food, coffee and the bill. Not to mention we get charged 12.5% discretionary gratitude for a poor service in a cafe that clearly has a long history. If you get anything from here get it TO GO....

I was going there on Christmas Day and it is super crowded. When we got the table we have asked for a waitress to come for placing order but they just keep asked me to wait. Ok fine we can wait them to finish their jobs on hand but they then serve others and ignored us. One of the waitress just busy to tidy her hair and look at her face in front of a mirror and doing nothing. The food is not worth for money as well. Won’t recommend to go.

We waited ages for our food and had to ask at every step for things like water, cutlery, the bill. The service was very poor and slow and the waitress did not speak a word of English so when we asked questions she just looked at us. We were charged for wine which was supposed to be included in the meal and when we complained the main waiter told us a story too silly to believe - we paid the bill and left and will never return or recommend to anyone

This happened a number of years ago, but I am only writing it now as I realise the world should know what awful staff this place has. Things might have changed, but I doubt the service has improved since my visit.

I and several friends popped into Caffe Concerto when visiting London in November. The decor, ambiance and atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered the afternoon tea and it came on a cake stand with two scones and some pastries. When I tried to eat the scones, I almost broke my teeth as half the scone was rock hard. Eventually a waiter came to the table and I showed him the "stones" that were meant to be scones. He quickly replaced them. It turned out that the scones had been left too long in the microwave. Not a good excuse when you think that everything in front of you is meant to be fresh. Nothing was taken off the invoice at the end which was a disappointment.

Veramente deludente al massimo. Ho ordinato una cioccolata calda, ma sembrava semplice acqua con un quasi inesistente retrogusto di cioccolato. Poi ho ordinato una crêpe con cioccolato, il quale era presente solo nella superficie dei tre rotoli di impasto, che all’intento erano totalmente vuoti. Il servizio, tuttavia, è stato buono è il posto era ben tenuto e pulito. I bagni erano okay.

We have been to many different branches of CC but this one made it hard to believe that it is part of the same chain. Disinterested service (first time we have had wine glasses thrown at us and a wine bottle literally dropped into the cooler), undercooked food, tatty and half finished decor plus transport cafe style tables made it truly unforgettable. A special mention to Pieter who wins the “I hate my job” prize of 2019 with an honourable mention to the waitress who seems to have skipped the “politeness” module when she took her cut price course in English.

Went for a late lunch. It wasn’t busy at all. Even so, the servers were indifferent. Ordered fried calamari and lobster & crab ravioli. The calamari was crispy and hot on the outside but the actual squid was a bit slimy and limp. I couldn’t taste any lobster or crab in the ravioli or bisque sauce it was covered in. It was a all a bit stodgy. We didn’t try any of the pretty looking desserts. Another customer had sent hers back saying it was dried out. The staff didn’t seem to care, almost as if this was a normal occurrence. I guess because of the location being in a high-traffic tourist area, they don’t have to try much and get away with charging high prices.

We were staying across the road in the Citadines Apartments. I have worked in London for 10 years and we now live in the New Forest, so it was a family trip. Until this trip we had never used Caffe Concerto. This time we visited 3 times in 3 days.

Good choice of reasonably priced breakfast options. However, drinks way overpriced, eg coffee over £4 a cup. Coffee was good, but not that good. Food was ok, not exceptional, but nothing was awful.

I visited this place with my husband. Very poor atmosphere, there is not contact between customer and staff. I ordered hot chocolate, so you expect hot drink but it wasn't hot and not tasty. So when I told to the waiter he just took without say anything and after 5 minutes he brought an other one which was same. My husband had Irish coffee which tasted just like whisky and a lot of whipped cream on top. Cake was OK but not excellent. Not apologize, not welcome, no smile.

Good food, boaring staff, stiff proces. We had a great breakfast but personel doesn’t really seem to care. No attention, No contact, they Just move plates without any sympathy for their clients.

A friend and I wanted to have coffee late afternoon after visiting a nearby gallery. On entering Caffe Concerto - or trying to as the door was being 'guarded' by a staff member - we were told that we couldn't come in just for coffee. I explained that we only wanted coffee but I did want to buy 5 cakes afterwards. That seemed to grant us entry, albeit grudgingly. If it hadn't been foul weather and for the fact that I had promised to take back nice cakes to my family, we would have gone elsewhere.

De afternoon tea was lekker, maar nadat we afgerekend hadden zagen we dat we ook een fooi van 12 1/2 % hadden afgerekend die bij iedereen dus ongevraagd in rekening wordt gebracht. De bediening liet te wensen over dus zeker geen £ 4,87 waard op een bedrag van £ 38,95. Via email contact gehad met de klantenservice krijgen we een cheque opgestuurd van £ 4,87 waar je dus totaal niks aan hebt. Terugstorten op de bankrekening was niet volgens hun beleid.

Really nice location for a quaint Italian style café/bar. Pastries look delicious but this time around we didn’t try them as we were just stopping in for something hot. The chai latte I had was warm milk with a tea bag in it and lacked the comforting warmth that a chai latte usually has. Very little love was put into this usually delicious drink. The ruby latte my girlfriend had was delicious though.

Three of us tried in vain to find a place to eat on a Friday eve. Everywhere was heaving. We found this place, got a table immediately, and had an excellent meal. We were in a bit of a rush as we had a tour booked in an hours' time but we got through excellent meals and service within the time. Yes, was a bit pricey but at least they had some xmas deccys and the place was attractive.

At Trafalgar Square you can enjoy this restaurant and we enjoyed the afternoon tea (coffee). Very satisfied!

We visited this cafe on Saturday. It was raining heavily so we thought the place looked welcoming warm and attractive and decided a coffee would warm us up.How wrong we were. We waited to be seated and struggled to get any attention, eventually we ordered but then waited interminably for our coffees; they came in small groups ( there were 8 of us ), and the last 3 were sat on the counter for ages, indeed for so long that I actually went up to the counter to collect them myself. I wasn't allowed to take them though. When we eventually got them they were luke warm!!! Not the premium experience we were expecting when we paid £37 for the 8 coffees.

wir hatten spontan beschlossen im Caffe Concerto einzukehren, nachdem wir die leckeren Torten im Schaufenster bewundert hatten. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Nicht ganz günstig aber das wirklich große Stück cheesecake mit Kaffee und Tee serviert von einem freundlichen und aufmerksamen Kellner war es wert. Auch die Einrichtung und Atmosphäre hat uns gut gefallen. Bei unserem nächsten London Besuch kommen wir sicher wieder.

There were 5 of us (including one child) coming in for some tea/coffee and cake, I thought I would take them to Cafe Concerto as I've been there before a few years back.

We've been served by Adina, with a big smile on her face! She was friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet her and have the best breakfast in this amazing place. You should have more staff like her.

This charming cafe is right off Trafalgar. It is well lit, and the decor was quite lovely. Our food was very good, with a fairly large portion, and served hot. The prices were quite reasonable for London. Our initial waitress was quite attentive, but apparently there was a shift change because we did wait quite a while for our check which was brought by someone else. Overall, I would definitely eat here again.

Caffe Concerto offers variety in pleasant surroundings. You can get a basic meal or exotic pastries and cakes with good coffee. We have visited this particular restaurant a number of times and the food is consistently well prepared and tasty. The service runs from good to excellent depending on the staff on hand at the time. Claudia, the manager, is particularly pleasant and helpful while fielding questions from staff and clients alike.

Lovely shared plate of antipasti perfect fruit scones, tea and coffee. Superb choc mousse. Massive authentic Italian patisserie selection. And excellent service from Adima. Well worth adding an extra on top of the service charge

Very long wait extremely slow service. Asked for water but it never arrived.my 3 year old nephew fell off his chair and was crying and the waiter instead of offering help said he needed to get by ! never asked if he was alright.very rude and upsetting.

The cakes are lovely, so it's worth getting a take-away. But the service is just a bit poor. It was very slow (due to being understaffed), and the staff that were there were pretty miserable and sullen (probably also due to being understaffed).

We visited Caffe Concérto Northumberland branch and we had the pleasure to meet one of the best guy in customer service.

Good solid meal. Resonable prices. Good wait staff. Returned for a second time. That should tell you something.

We had a fantastic lunch in this Cafe Concerto branch and we particularly impressed by the people who served us. The manager Cristian explained the menu to us and recommended grear dishes. I had on his recommendation spagheti with broccoli and spinach and my husband frito misto. The food was tasteful and hot and the dishes were served in only a few minutes. Also Peter, who served us the drinks was delightful to talk to and very professional. Overall we had one of the best experiences ever, feeling welcomed and appreciated. Thank you Cafe Concerto, thank you Cristian and Peter!

If you fancy a classical experience and décor and some really good food, head to Caffe Concerto for a good meal and very tasty coffee selection. We were there for breakfast, their selections are really tasty (try the eggs benedict, it's cooked to perfection) and their Americano really good (no burn taste in there!)!

Perché cosa c’è di meglio quando fuori c’e’ tempesta? Il Caffè Concerto è un angolo delizioso per rilassarsi e per fare colazione (o pranzo o cena). Noi siamo andati tutte le mattine ( era a venti metri dal nostro CQ) e ve lo consigliamo sicuramente

Looks like a lovely cafe and the food is good, at reasonable prices for central London. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for drinks prices which are not shown outside or on the website - £4.35 for a cup of breakfast tea in the tiniest teapot you’ll ever see. Waitresses are surly and, when we visited, did not understand English too well. So one misunderstood French Toast with honey and fruit, and served French Toast with Golden Syrup; whilst her colleague brought some blueberries but - giving her the benefit of any doubt - appeared not to understand that the order was for honey and fruit. In the end we gave up. Not what we expected in a cafe adding a discretionary 12.5% to the bill - we declined to pay the tip.

Bel caffè-ristorante a due passi da Trafalgar Square. Noi ci siamo stati a pranzo ed abbiamo preso dei totani fritti, molto buoni, una caprese e dell'acqua minerale (la cosa più cara, devo dire). Buona qualità del cibo e del servizio. Prezzi non proprio economicissimi, ma siamo nel centro di Londra e questo indubbiamente influisce sul prezzo finale.

We stopped for a late Sunday breakfast, and although we usually steer clear of restaurants that have photo's of their food we were keen to eat and didn't want to keep searching. The food was very good and very tasty. In particular the coffee, fresh orange juice, and tea was superb. The service was very friendly, although not particularly attentive. They lost a star because of the time and effort it took to pay the bill, which unfortunately stressed us out. Would definitely go again.

Era un día muy caluroso, la reserva del lugar estaba de alguna manera confusa y, en primer lugar, fuimos a Shaftsbury Avenue. Les informamos que teníamos una reserva para las 3 en punto, solo para que nos dijeran que era el lugar equivocado, nos decepcionó mucho la falta de servicio al cliente en este lugar. Le pedimos a uno de los empleados que telefoneara al otro lugar que estaba cerca, él lo hizo de mala gana y se aseguró de que teníamos una reserva allí. Finalmente llegamos 40 minutos tarde, muy, muy caluroso y fue recibido por ALEX, qué saludo tan maravilloso tuvimos, él restauró nuestra fe en la naturaleza humana ese día e hizo de nuestro té de la tarde una experiencia muy agradable. Durante mi estadía en el Club Quarters justo en la calle durante 7 días, encontré mi lugar en Caffe Concerto. para el café y pasteles de la mañana y generalmente para la cena después de los conciertos en Saint Martin in the Fields frente a Trafalgar Square. Siempre estuve muy contento con la comida y el café. El café es MUY cómodo con un zumbido. Lo que me hizo volver fue el increíble y hermoso personal que me cuidó. Permítanme mencionar a Claudia, Pieter, Alex, Christian, Johnny Iaonna y Grazia. Desearía haber podido llevarlos a Estados Unidos conmigo. Me trataron muy bien y es difícil imaginar ir a otra parte cuando estoy de vuelta en la ciudad. Muy recomendable.

Today I went to the so famous “Caffe Concerto” in London (Trafalgar Square). The service was so rude I can’t even relate, the food not so special for the price (a muffin which probably was from Lidl costs like 4 pounds). The only thing that was good was the coffee.

Went for breakfast. Coffee is great. Food was very good. Had the scrambled eggs with spinach and asparagus. Could tell the eggs were whipped with cream before scrambled (very rich). Not the friendliest staff but may have just been a language barrier.

Having just been on a Thames boat, we wanted to have a nice hot drink and thaw out. Ordered two hot chocolates and scone + a pain raisin. Latter were fine, but the hot chocolate was very poor. To our minds it was sickly sweet and simply made up from the cheapest commercial powder. Even for London, at £4.50 per cup, plus 12.5% service charge, that's a no-no. We weren't made to feel very welcome either. At least we got warm.

Good for breakfast. Quiet, efficient. goid omelette and orange juice. But keep the menu and check your bill carefully!

We visited Caffe Concerto Northumberland Ave for coffee and cake. We enjoyed a wonderful pistachio cake and lemon meringue in a lovely setting. Truly scrumptious and great service from Andreia!

My husband and I had breakfast here recently, service was efficient yet with no emotion. Eggs Benedict, egg was over cooked, which was disappointing and as a result the hollandaise sauce dried up. My extra hot late was Luke warm which was not worth mentioning as they were so frantic. So, average rating unfortunately, was hoping for a lot more.

The restaurant is classy with elegant decor. We stopped by for lunch and enjoyed excellent risotto, followed by delicious black forest cake. It was all expertly presented with generous portions. The staff were efficient and obliging. We look forward to visiting this restaurant again when next in London.

Stopped by late afternoon (4.30pm) after a day of sightseeing and walking and it was great! Plenty of room and a great choice of cakes and pastries to choose from. We had coffee and cake, both of which were yummy and very photogenic! Great service. Can highly recommend it as a place to stop and give your feet a break.

Infreddoliti in una giornata ventosa siano entrati qui attratti dai dolci che abbiano visto in vetrina. Il locale era pieno ma non abbiamo atteso molto per il tavolo. Cappuccino, the e un succo di limone e menta. Abbiamo provato la Millefoglie freschissima e un Frangipane con le mele. Pasticceria di qualità, locale adatto a colazioni, pranzi e cene, un po’ caotico quando è pieno, menu vario ma occhio ai prezzi non proprio economici. Abbiamo speso 27 sterline ma direi che il locale elegante e il buon servizio, insieme alla freschezza dei dolci giustificano la cifra. Alcuni camerieri parlano italiano. Caffè Concerto é una catena di locali sparsi per Londra, non sarà la migliore pasticceria della città ma la pausa dolce a noi é piaciuta e il cappuccino era come quello di casa.

We were going to the South African embassy and decided to stop here for brunch. The food was good. But the service was excellent. Everyone was so attentive and helpful with the two of us who had babies. It is a gorgeous set up and the babies were mesmerised. Thank you for such a lovely and thoughtful experience.

Made a quick pit-stop with the family just to have a cup of tea. We were six people and decided to order just one pastry stand and five cups of tea altogether. The waiter, a readhead 40 something guy, literally laughed at my face as we didn’t want to order a stand per head. I had to justify the fact that we would’ve had dinner in an hour time. When asked for some slices of lemon, he laughed at me again for my Italian accent, wondering if I was asking for slices or glasses of lemon. That wasn’t fun at all. Very unprofessional and rude. We stayed there for about half an our, the manager was sitting right next to us having his break, and kept on laughing himself without even saying a word. I strongly do not recommend this place.

Actually impressed with this place. Food was excellent. Service was spectacular. I was able to buy coffee cups and they we’re very pleasant with me. Definitely worth going for breakfast. The food cost the same as the hotel and was very delicious.

We were staying at a hotel a couple of doors down but came here for breakfast. I had eggs benedict which were freshly cooked and delicious and my wife had granola which she said was the best she had ever had! Wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

We had two good breakfasts at the Cafe, 4 different dishes and all were fresh hot and tasty. Prices were as expected - not cheap but fair.
