Cafe Rouge O2 in Newham

The food was delicious, showcasing the rich flavours. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Went to O2 outlet and whilst the food was ok taste wise it could’ve been warmer, service was mediocre, staff brought wrong tea. What I was shocked about was the pure lacy of cleaning in certain areas. There were large mirrors on the wall and the bottom edges had a thick layer of dust on them, as did the small shelf with lamp in one booth where we also found rubbish left by a previous occupant. One part of table had some dried food stuck to it. Won’t be going back

I've had some great meals in Cafe Rouge all over London, this however wasn't one of them. Pate was OK, but burger and chips tasteless and cold. Partners meal was adequate. Service was quite good, staff friendly, considering how busy the place was. Also they wouldn't accept Blue Light Card as there was 'an event on that night', but accept them at other times.

We were well pleased with our late lunchtime meal here after much travelling. Waiting staff were helpfull and the 'menu of the day' had plenty of choices. The food was good. Overall, enjoyable and good value. It is well placed close to the O2 Arena so probably not worth visiting running up to the time of an event unless atleast pre-booked .

Thought we’d got to the O2 in plenty of time to eat before seeing Peter Kay - wrong! Long queues outside all restaurants and chose Cafe Rouge as the queue didn’t seem quite as long as some of the others. Considering how busy it was, we had good food and the service was friendly and very efficient - had a lovely meal and still got into the venue on time!

Order taken quickly , starters brought out. Then we waited and waited dishes were not removed after waiting nearly 50 mins I asked what had happened to put food . Server said they would check but never came back , I had to ask again , it was then brought out warm and burger bun was rock hard . By now restaurant was practically empty , apart from staff all sitting at a table laughing and joking and eating and drinking . Extremely poor service and would avoid at all costs . No wonder there was no queue for a table .

Excellent meal, great service and well priced. Restaurant was also nice and warm and decorated nicely for Christmas. Would definitely return. The Malbec is amazing value for money.

With a low number of staff and a whole restaurant filled. There was amazing service from our waitress, she gave a very speedy service and made sure to check up on us asking how our food was if we wanted more drinks etc. From our whole experience there, the staff were smiling at customers and didn’t once stop working. Overall amazing staff and food and amazing service from our small dark haired waitress (never caught her name). Thank you so much for the amazing experience on such a busy night!

Went for dinner before seeing a band, quickly seated soon forgotten about waited 20 mins to have even a drinks order, went to order from the set menu, abruptly told can not order from that menu as a concert was on. Doh we are at O2 there's a concert most nights. Why have that option on your menu at a events venue. Order drinks pint of leffe and 0% Stella both not available so bottle Corona and 0%cider. Food was mediocre. Not really French food like it used to be. Won't be rushing back to a cafe rouge. Sorry well disappointed.

Arrived for a Saturday night concert. Accepted everywhere is busy, it is nearly 6pm. No bookings required, short queue but we soon get seated. No service at all for 20 minutes. Orders taken - not complicated - 2 prawns as mains, 1 with sp fries; 1 minute steak rare with green beans; espresso, beer and tap water. the drinks come 5 minutes later. 10 minutes later 1 prawn dish, the green beans ( without main course) and a side salad ( not ordered) arrive. 5 minutes more, we call a supervisor - beans cold, still 2 mains missing. He takes that away "I'll sort it". Another 5 minutes, still nothing - we've been there nearly 45 minutes. No food for 2 out of 3...but for the cold green beans. We decide to scrub this; pay for what has been delivered ( surely not the beans nor salad?) and leave without. What is the point ? No service, no attention. The one thing they got right - the supervisor tells the waitress to waive payment...for that they can have the 1. We understand the pressure of a busy evening - everywhere else in o2 is the probably the same. There was enough serving staff ... but no attention - and clearly the kitchen couldn't deliver. Just not acceptable. We enjoyed the concert - but I would recommend avoiding the Cafe Rouge outside the venue.

Rude, condescending staff, disappointing food/drinks and flies/wasps buzzing around the tables inside. Not the most pleasant experience. Will not be returning.

Awful food. Place had not been cleaned prior for months! Toilets looked like the floor had never been cleaned and had no soap! Shocking service and tasteless food. Such a shame for a prime location.

Unfortunately we had an unacceptable experience. Waited 90 minutes for a second rate burger. My friend said on ordering that she is a celiac. Her food turned up and it wasn’t gluten free. The waitress said that it was. After pointing out we were convinced that it wasn’t, the waitress checked and took it back to the kitchen (swapped the bread) My friend later on became ill. Not impressed and not dining there this evening as planned. On payment we were asked about leaving a tip. Gratuity is to gift given for good service and enjoyment of the dining experience. I’m normally a very generous‘tipper’ Not on this occasion. What a shame !

Food took well over an hour to come even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. This was particularly disappointing as we had young kids with us (who weren’t given any colouring etc). Asked the manager for an update on food’s ETA but heard nothing back. Food was mediocre. One David grace was waiting staff were nice and polite. One to avoid going forward…

Arrived with a booking on time. Still took 10 minutes waiting inside the door before our existence was acknowledged. Another 10 before a table was allocated. Ordered our drinks and food straight away as we were attending a show. 30 further minutes waiting for the starter to arrive it was decided enough was enough and left. Insufficient staff to service the tables both inside and out, and judging by the speed other tables were served insufficient staff in the Kitchen. Manager was conspicuous by his hiding from the problem, leaving the youngest of staff to deal with his problems. He deserves to be dismissed for incompetence and poor management skills. If you can’t serve all the tables, you don’t use all the tables.

Very rude staff, asked politely to get a coffee outside and they snapped and said its too cold ! Look at the photo taken in the day, it was red hot weather. Avoid.

I can't believe places like this have the audacity to charge people for a what they consider is good food and service. I ordered a tepid beetroot and goats cheese tart - it was clearly a frozen microwave defrosted abomination. The side salad was wilted and warm, which seemed like it was prepared months previously.Towards the end of the meal, a short woman who looked managerial moved our table without even asking, to make way for a recently arrived couple. The toilets were filthy and there was dried blood splattered up the cubicle door. Clearly they are taking the meaning of "rouge" to a new level.

Great food and service the staff could not be more accommodating the decor is beautifully simply airy and well thought out for such a cozy place the French waitress was really entertaining and looking after us all evening

Cafe rouge the o2 become one of our favourite restaurant. On this visit we met old friends just before the show.Each of our courses was outstanding.A little pricey but worth few extra pounds.The wine list is not huge but many interesting choices.The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable.We already look forward to our next visit.

We came on Friday the 5th of February for lunch, we were served by a lovely waitress and manageress (Elise R)They share all their knowledge as it was our first time in café rouge and we could see that they knew what they were talking about.
