Cafe Concerto in City of London, Westminster

Great pit stop. On street seating very pleasant to sit and watch the world go by with one of their fabulous coffees.you need to see the menu for the different types of coffee available. Who new ?

Went on Saturday 13th July. Group of 8. Popped in for drinks / cake /light bite. Seated upstairs ..left longer than expected for orders to be taken. About 15 mins later..2 peoples order of mozzerellasticks put...still no drinks had been bought to table for any of us. Then another order of a sandwich come out....still no drinks or cakes. Called waitress over as no cutlery had been bought to table for the first 3 meals served...her response was..we are very busy and made a gesture of snapping her fingers and walked off. Wasn't happy with her customer service lack of skills so friend in group hot up to speak to manager. Cutlery them bought to table. And drinks finally arrived. And then cakes. Cutlery bought for cake was a full size knife and fork to eat dinners with...so guessing don't have anything smaller for just cake. When bill cone. They had put on £18 service charge... Needless to say...we refused to pay out. Food nice but definately wouldn't return due to staff attitude and lack of interaction.

Terrific cakes, fresh, full of flavour and sugar. Light and fluffy. Fantastic variety. Portions are huge. Tea was hot but the coffee was rather average. Please address the coffee and you’ll fly.

I ordered a dessert and a drink here. However, when I wanted to pay the bill, I stated that I did not want to pay the service charge or the tip, but the waitress there approached me in a very aggressive way, almost as if challenging, she tried to question why we did not want to pay. You cannot do business like this, you cannot make someone pay for something with pressure and attack, I could have gotten even more angry and fought there. Please train your waiters properly, betting is optional. When a customer says he doesn't want to pay, unless there is a reason for it, no action can be taken. This is not the USA, the wages are like there, people don't earn. The waitress also arrogantly stated that tipping is mandatory, but it is legally clear that it is not mandatory, and it is clearly stated in the future law that it will not be mandatory.

We we visited this café for a coffee in January and the staff were very helpful and friendly . On our return visit to London in March again we stopped in to have a coffee and unfortunately my husband felt a bit ill and I cannot fault the kindness and care from Diana when we had to stay longer than we would have done until he felt better to leave. They were very busy but at no time did she make us feel rushed that we had to give up our table which meant he could recover sufficiently for us to continue, which really was priceless, thank you very much Diana, you are a credit to the company.

My email to customer service that has, so far, been ignored. Dear Customer Service, What has happened to the standard in Caffe Concerto? I always include a trip to CC when we have visitors to our London home, it’s a sweet treat and always, previously, an exceptional experience. This past weekend I had a visitor from Ireland and brought her to the Haymarket CC after dinner in China Town. The service was excellent, the food outstanding but the visit to the restrooms left me wishing I hadn’t eaten there at all! I use the disabled toilets due to a hidden disability, the waiter seemed embarrassed as he opened the door, explaining it was the staff room as well. What it was, was extremely dirty. I was horrified, if I’d had any physical disability it would not have been possible for me to use the restroom, there was, simply, no space. Employees belongings, high chairs, assorted garbage and discarded items littered the floor, I was, frankly, disgusted. The general restroom wasn’t much better, my daughter actually said she’d hold her bladder full until we got to a bar or club rather than using the ladies. What is going on? On Saturday we then decided to give it another go, one bad experience shouldn’t keep you from good cake right? Westfield Stratford outside of the mall we were seated then ignored. We got up to leave and, only then!, the waitress came over to us. I explained I wasn’t staying as being seated and ignored, even as we waved, caught staffs eye, then continued to wait wasn’t acceptable. We then went into the Westfield mall caffe. The chocolate gateau was dry to the point of crumbing. The senior staff member, reluctantly changed it only after she too had cut into it to confirm it was dry, she had said it was fresh that day but admitted I may have been given a slice from the previous cake! So again, what is going on in Caffe Concerto? And when will it be safe to go to the disabled restrooms in Haymarket?

Had brunch on couple of occasions. Great food, good service. The cakes are excellent and very generously sized 😀 Plan to try the afternoon teas in the future. Need to work up an appetite!

We found the server very rude and she wouldn’t allow us to just have drinks. They proceeded to snatch the menus from us once we had ordered.

Met a friend before going to the theater. Wish I went elsewhere. Food was terrible. We had gnocchi which was supposed to be pumpkin gnocchi. It was more like vegetable stock/sauce over plain shop bought gnocchi. Overpriced. There were flies all around the corner where we sat. If it wasn't for being short of time we would have walked out and gone elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Popped in for a coffee and sat outside amongst the fake flowers/plants adorning the café. Coffee was ok, but not the best considering the price. The ladies toilet was absolutely filthy and disgusting, as I walked to the toilet there was a guy one his mobile peeing into the ladies toilet with the door wide open, the men's toilet was out of order. I went to use the disabled loo, again another guy on the phone whilst peeing into the toilet with the door half open. The toilets and toilet floors were all saturated mess with urine and used toilet paper on the floor, no fresh toilet paper at all. I felt sick at the thought of using the toilet so refrained and went to another establishment. I complained to the manager he asked the barman/barista to clean the toilets. No apology. Absolutely disgusting and filthy. At £4.95 for a cappuccino one would expect good service and a clean toilet.

Two Starters and four main Course for four came to £164,.42 with three soft drinks and one beer. Fried Calamari starter for over £10.00. We joked with the waiter as to where the Calamari was and he said under there - 6 Calamari rings hidden under some sweet potato chips. The main meals (grilled Chicken breast and Braised Lamb Shank) were about £25 each. The vegan broccoli ad spinach(£19.95) had one broccoli floret and a few laves of Spinach - the vegan sauce was tasty. Overall - very overpriced for "just about" adequate quality food. There are better quality restaurants with lower prices in the area. Would never go here again.

Upon entering we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly member of staff who showed us to our table and gave us our menus. A few minutes later our drinks and cake orders were taken. Ushered into a hot restaurant with poor table service. Drinks were tasteless and not what you would expect for the cost. Lemonade no fizz and tasteless Chambard royals tasteless glass of coloured water. Cake with soggy pastry Avoid!!!!

My friend suggested this cool looking restaurant to have a few drinks and people watch. After ordering our ducks I walked in to go to the restroom and the GM tried to stop me from going in. He asked what I needed and I told him the restroom. He continued to argue with me and I told him I was sitting outside and he should ask the correct way instead of demanding and being an asswhole. Overall, staff was incredible but the GM sucked. Wouldn't recommend because of him.

Typical Caffe Concerto, to be honest if you have been into one you have been into all of them, they all look the same! Looking at the reviews they mainly come up around 3.5, which is where I would place this one, possibly just above hence the very good rating. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well presented. The service was adequate, the waitress polite and helpful. the wait for our food was not excessive. The overall standard of our food was good, but like many other restaurants they seem to forget that most people like their food slightly more than just warm. While the cakes look great, I doubt they are of any real quality as my friends was a little bland. Value for money? Almost £100 for 4 coffees, 2 cakes, waffles and an eggs benedict...... Work that one out for yourself. (That did include a service charge). As I say you eat at one you eat at all. Not the worst one I Have eaten in and I get the impression they are trying to look good for tourists who are unlikely to return. You can do better.

We called in for the chicette, 3 plates of pasta of your choice and a bottle of wine. Service was prompt and tables did turnover quite quickly. The food was excellent, service prompt and the price very good. It was more food than two of us could eat though.

Good selection of food and drinks. However the service was slow, having to ask for drinks three times, initially no menu offered so we had to ask for one. Needless to say we did not pay the service charge.

Una deliciosa con arándanos sobre una base de crema pastelera, un ratón cholate con un macarrón.Guardamos los otros dos pasteles y el restaurante felizmente nos dio una caja para llevarlos a casa.

Visité Caffe Concerto a mediados de la semana de agosto de 2020. Situado en el Haymarket de Londres, no era mi primera opción, pero Ole and Steen estaba cerrado. Pedimos dos cafés con leche y dos pasteles. Los pasteles son grandes, pero con casi 6 cada uno, esperaría una mejor calidad, a pesar de la ubicación. La verdadera decepción fue el café. Probablemente fue el peor café que he tomado en Londres. Cuesta 3. 95 y era demasiado caro y mal hecho. Lo encontré prácticamente imbebible. Contrasta mucho con mi café anterior en la tienda Arket en Long Acre, que fue excelente. Si estás pensando en visitar, le daría un amplio margen a este lugar. Consideraba mi proyecto de ley 23 probablemente una de mis peores decisiones.

No pude criticar el servicio, pedí cafés y pasteles, los pasteles eran buenos, pero los cafés fueron probablemente los peores que he probado en un restaurante, el café con leche sabía a leche tibia y el café con leche especial hecho con cúrcuma y coco salió de un paquete con de nuevo, casi no tiene sabor a café, también tan caliente que le quema la lengua.

Bin vor einer Theatermatinee in das Caffe Concerto am Haymarket gegangen, weil ich eben einen Kaffee trinken wollte. Von einem wenig freundlichen Kellner wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass nur eine Tasse Kaffee nicht gehen würde, also habe ich noch einen Kuchen bestellt. Für beides zahlte ich über 12 Pfund und ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen, dass beides diesen Preis definitiv nicht wert waren. Ganz ehrlich: Mehr Schein, als Sein. Ich muss da nicht nochmals hin.

Ci siamo fermati in questa pasticceria per una pausa thè. Abbiamo preso un pankake in due perché le porzioni erano davvero abbondanti. Nel complesso buono, tipica pasticceria londinese.

We had a reasonable and delicious lunch. The gnocchi and salmon nicoise were very tasty. Good place for a wonderful lunch.

My friend and I came here for cake after dinner tonight (17/02). We waited over 15 minutes before Davide came to take our order, while my friend was trying to explain the cake she wanted from the display as it didn’t have a sign he put his hand up and told her to wait. He was very rude and displayed no interest at all in his job. All the other staff were walking around looking miserable as well. The desserts were thrown onto the table in front of us and did not look appetising at all, however they tasted nice and my drink was very nice. We took off the optional 13% service charge and they had no problem doing this for us. Such a pity the service doesn’t match the quality of the food. The staff need to be properly trained.

We reviewed the menu and ordered the luxury cream tea for two for £23.95 as a result of the picture and description of what you get.MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT. 1) You get significantly LESS cakes then shown in the picture2) you DONT get the macaroons as shown in the picture3) We got one or three OLD/STALE cakes4) Scones were no more than ok OVERALL A BIG FAIL. If you are tired out after shopping and want somewhere a bit relaxing then this is a decent place, although expensive. The cakes are fresh with nice cream, coffee was fine too.

Rude staff, no one looks after you. Desserts look poor, baileys coffee is a joke, cutlery and cups are not washed properly. Would never come back.

Stopped on our way to Trafalgar square, my husband had coffee and a croissant and I had an amazing hot chocolate really creamy and not bitter. Would definatly stop here again when visiting London.

Necesitaba comer cerca de Theatre Royal Haymarket. Un lugar de la calle al que llegamos fue el concierto de Caffe. Empujé por el tiempo y ciertamente se veía bien desde el exterior, pensamos que esto funcionaría. La esposa tenía pierna de cordero, estoy seguro de que había un poco de carne en alguna parte. Acompañando puré de papas era como diríamos en casa, se les quitó el aire frío.

Wonderful! I liked my dish very much. I’m vegetarian and I had many options of food: I choice a rigatoni Siciliana and it was delicious! We were well welcomed and I recommend this place!

I’m not one to leave reviews however the service offered at this establishment was disgraceful. If you’re thinking of visiting, don’t waste your time or money. Visiting with my American boyfriend we thought this cafe looked super pretty and fancy, perfect for offering a british experience. We ordered two mochas and afternoon tea. The mochas tasted incredibly burnt. I for one have tasted bad mochas but this was next level. Completely burnt and undrinkable. I am not one for making a fuss but it was disgusting. I talked to a member of staff and she stated “that’s how it tastes”. Burnt? To that level, definitely not. She stormed off and I assume spoke to her manager. She returned and said nothing could be done about it.

What a beautiful restaurant in a great location. Me and my wife had afternoon tea with Prosecco and it was beautiful.

Ordered the Millionaires sandwich followed by the Lemon Meringue - absolutely gorgeous. Such pleasant surroundings and great service. Just wish we had a Cafe Concerto in South Wales.

Хороший выбор тортов, пирожных и эклеров. Всё очень свежее. Кофе не самый лучший, но в целом нормально. Хорошее обслуживание, и уютный интерьер. Хорошие цены, как для кафе в таком популярном туристическом месте. Два пирожных и два кофе нам обошлись в 15 фунтов.

El espacio es muy agradable, el menú muy bueno tanto para tomar algo , almorzar a cenar. Y la atención del personal excelente, especialmente de los mozos Silva yCaique.Lo recomiendo sin dudar

We visited here yesterday and was warmly welcomed by the staff and shown to our table earlier than book as we arrived earlier than expected but we were accommodated with no problems at all.
