Recently I enjoyed some delicious pizza and bruschetta, and I must say, both were outstanding! The pizza was perfectly baked, featuring a wonderfully crispy crust topped with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor in every bite. The presentation was stunning, with vibrant colors that made it almost too beautiful to eat! The bruschetta was equally impressive, with toasted bread generously topped with a savory mix of ripe tomatoes, aromatic basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It was a delightful appetizer that set the tone for a fantastic meal. Overall, both dishes were a feast for the senses, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a delicious dining experience!

The food was great as usual and the service was great. A huge thank you to our server, Roma, who made our meal much more pleasant and enjoyable, they were very attentive and helpful!

Walked in, quick service, good food

Without a doubt we had a great time. The food is spectacular. It's worth every penny. Pasta, pizza... we ate a variety and all the dishes were Excellent.

We had a lovely time celebrating my husband birthday with our friends. Food was very tasty; we shared a few starters and then we had pizzas which was delicious. The manager and all her staff was lovely and attentive the whole evening. They also made a birthday plate and added candles which made it even more special.

I ordered a calzone, it was completely cold inside and the cheese wasn't melted... We also had pasta and a normal pizza and halloumi bites which were very tasty. However, my calzone wasn't such a hit, probably a misfortune.

We went in without a reservation with 4 adults, 3 kids and a baby following a dreadful visit to the national portrait gallery in the middle of half term. They moved the tables around to seat us. The food was super kid friendly, lots of Crayons and busy but competent staff. It's not gourmet but very affordable with the half term offer. 100% recommend for a quick kid friendly affordable meal.

Walked in Strand branch at noon during half term as nearby kids activity was a disaster. Staff were amazing in finding us (4 adults and 4 kids) a table and making sure everything was great. Food was lovely and with kids eat free offer it was incredible value. Really impressed. Thank you

The manager at the door is quite friendly. The food is not good and probably not fresh. I had a tuna salad last night and became ill right after. Don’t go unless you really have no other options.

Good pizza and the gluten free crust is good but not crispy. So keep that in mind. Service was excellent.

We had a great day to start with and deliberatley walked around and worked up an appetite. Upon arrival when seating became available, we were seated downstairs in a dark corner behind the stairs. There was pockets of lighting but we were placed in the dark, j couldn't read the menu. I spoke to the middle aged male manager, who seemed very stressed from the word go. When I asked for me and my family to be moved to somewhere with better lighting we moved to the next table which somehow was even worse. We then moved ourselves to another table. By this point I was really annoyed and when the manager came by he said the lighting above us was on a bar strip 'was part of the architecture, it was designed for a romantic setting for couples And here I was with my three children ( you can't get more romantic than that !!!) He clearly lied to us, and took us for fools. I was so pissed with him by now ( did he think we were idiots) He clearly did. However we got a lovely waiter a young man who was ever so helpful and kind and when I told him about the lighting situation he explained they were working fine few days earlier. I would not be writing this review if the manager didn't take us for diots and just tell us the lights were faulty. I think he's the idiot now!😃 Anyway on another note, the price for a pizza on average is about £16 and they have shrunk in size. I ordered lasagne, lots of lasage and sauce, but I struggled to find any mince, it was non existant. Really, don't waste you time or money here and dont even bother ordering the lasagne. Good job I didn't have to spend too much of my hard earned money, thanks to Tesco for your reward vouchers that paid for most of it. Even then your tesco vouchers can be spent elsewhere. DONT WASTE THEM HERE PLEASE!!I we never eat McDonald's, but seriously we were still so hungry after we finished our unsatisfying child like portions that we were discussing pick up a McDonald's burger.

Visited for pre theatre dinner. It was very busy. I was taken to the very corner table and felt hard getting attention. The waitress was speaking polite, in patronising way, she was obviously very annoyed with me and looked angry, made me very uncomfortable. She looked ok with some other people, chatting away, but I noticed she was rude to my next table too. Just because it was too busy and too much pressure on her? Or some kind of racism? Anyway I won’t visit them again. Pizzas were ok, starters were served very quickly but mediocre and rather disappointing.

Waiting and waiting and waiting to be seated in a half empty restaurant with a lot of employees.

Went here for a light meal after the theatre , the front of house guy was really friendly and welcoming and the waiter was very attentive and helpful. The waiter soon had our starter and bottle of wine in front of us. We had a pizza to share as our main course which was amazing and we would recommend for that reason alone. Great atmosphere and very clean toilets. We will return in November when were back at the theatre.

Was erecting scaffolding outside 450 Strand, and the young Polish lady running the restaurant came out numerous times to chat and see how things were progressing, after we had finished we decided to have a meal before leaving for home. As someone who has spent many a night out in and around Piccadilly and surrounding areas I have to say how impressed I was with the lady in question, as cordial and welcoming a personality I haven’t encountered for some time, this was matched by the staff and the food. Had it not been for the friendly interaction we probably wouldn’t have eaten there and just headed home. A true credit to the franchise and would highly recommend it.

Ordered a pollo as astra Romana based pizza with extra chicken. This was probably the worst pizza I have attempted to eat. I could count the pieces of chicken on one hand, and that was with extra chicken ordered. The pizza was far from crispy, as they advertise the Romana based to be. It was soft, undercooked, lacked any type of flavour and the topping was sparse to say the least. I had one piece and sent it back. As a frequent pizza express visitor, this was very disappointing.

Very nice, helpful and welcoming, good pizza

I always my visits to Pizza Express and yesterday evening was no exception. The waiter was especially helpful and thoughtful. Reluctantly, however I must report that the goat’s cheese salad I ordered was dismal. It looked as if all the contents had literally been thrown together with leathery left over pieces of cheese. I’m a veggie and I tend to go for the salads and usually I’m not disappointed, but I was yesterday.

Roma was very attentive, great customer service, politely asked questions for me and partner it was our anniversary...good food and ambience…will be coming back again A* to Roma

I arrived at 11:43 on Sep 6, 2024, and was seated promptly by the window. My order was taken within minutes and the starter and main course arrived very hot, shortly after. Perfect. Although they did not provide a pizza cutting tool like other locations I’ve been to, the knife provided was ok. I loved watching the red buses, black cabs, and crazy tourists on bikes go past the restaurant. From my first experience, this location is organised and well run. Hee Ri was very respectful and keen to help with positive energy. Please keep up the great work, guys! I will definitely visit again.

Pizza express doesn’t live up to its name. Food took 2 hours to come because of ‘printing error’. When we finally got the pizza it was raw and uncooked. We sent it back but still was the same. Won’t come back here anytime soon…

Very slow service even though booked

Broke the law yesterday by refusing a working guide dog access, absolutely disgraceful behaviour

Yesterday friends of ours had a very unpleasant, upsetting and uncomfortable experience at PizzaExpress in Charing Cross. They were refused from the restaurant by staff who claimed they have a policy which meant that even though their guide dog Penny is a registered, highly trained guide dog she was not allowed in because she is ‘large!’ It is very disappointing and worrying that in 2024 we are still living in a world where this kind of ignorance and discrimination exists. After searching online we have been unable to find this ‘large dog policy’ on any PizzaExpress websites. We are now curious to know if they measure wheelchairs or prams before letting them in?? YOU HAVE LOST A LOT OF CUSTOMERS! WHAT A JOKE!

One of the best restaurants for Italian meals

There is a service charge, but no service charge was applied. The pizza dough was crispy and it was very delicious.. The lasagna is amazing!!! It's super delicious... I think Ryazanya could be a good restaurant haha. Anyway, I had a good meal. The downside is that there is no air conditioning, so I ate while sweating. Cola, pizza, lasagna A total of 38.75 came out..

We were lucky getting in and seated quickly, and our server was polite and friendly, when a server was available, which was not often. The food which wasnt a pizza was awful, it was cold and clearly reheated which made it stodgy and disgusting. I have had better chicken from McDonald's. There was also no condiments available, as in they don't even have them on the premises. They clearly believe in quantity over quality, but it was expensive and disgusting. Won't be going to a Pizza Express ever again after this experience. It's basically a poor copy of Prezzo.

I came here with my sister a couple of weeks ago and on arrival everything was great. We got seated and ordered very quickly. Our startes came out within 10mins of ordering which was lovely but we hadn't even finshed our starters and our mains came out as well. Food was overall nice but went cold very quickly. We then had to wait over 40 minutes just to get our plates taken away and get a ahold of a desert menu and then waited another 15mins for our dessert to actually come out. Then waited another 15-20 minutes to get the bill. The worst thing about the whole situation is that the restaurant weren't even that busy so I can't imagine how you handle a busy day.

Ivo our waiter was brilliant, polite, quick and incredibly friendly he was really helpful and made several jokes with us. He made us feel so welcomed. We have been to other pizza expresses and other Italian restaurants but none have been as good as the service that Ivo has given us. Would 100% recommend and it was a bust Saturday night in summer!

Nice restaurant next to charing cross station

Service was chaotic and reluctant. No one came to the table for over 10 minutes after we sat down and no one wanted to catch h our eye. Our starters arrived after the main, which was missing the salad dressing. Kids menu is good but there was no pasta available, apparently. Pizza was fine and you always know what you’re getting with Pizza Express but the whole experience was loud, chaotic and slow.

Nicely cooked pizzas. Bbq chicken was a lovely flavour. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good service all round.

Had a meal with colleagues here the other day. They get very busy at lunchtime so there's often a bit of a delay getting served. However, Chris our waiter was great, very friendly and efficient. My romana pizza as always was hot and crisp. Will definitely be back soon!

Nice and welcoming place.. we had a very nice and friendly waitress.. the pizzas were really good.. Margherita a little expensive for the small size (baby pizza).. my husband had a good Roman pizza and standard size but paid a good 18.46 pounds🤦‍♀️ we tried to ask for coffee but we had a laugh with the waitress telling her that it was colored water🤣 anyway I really recommend it for those with children and for those who want to eat something close to Italian tastes 👏 💪

The women who is the manager with a severe attitude and dismissive . The service is a chaos, however I am not surprised after seeing the manager behaviour.This lack of attentiveness made the dining experience frustrating and disappointing considering the reputation your restaurant chain.Additionally, the restaurant was not as welcoming as was very dirty and messy.The overall cleanliness of the dining area left much to be desired. Totally unsatisfied and unlikely to return in the future.

The food was lovely and the service was OK, slightly disappointed when they got the order wrong and it took a while to rectify it.

We booked a table for 5.45. Understandably busy due to the half term but we got there on time. We then had to wait for our table (at least 20 minutes) We weren't seated until 6.10. Extremely cramped with loads of people around us while waiting. It was only the fact that I pointed out to the staff we would miss our train if we had to wait any longer to be seated and the fact we had booked and didn't have a table albeit people who didn't book were being let in before us. Once seated, we were downstairs. It was extremely noisy and we couldn't hear each other without raising our voices. We tried to order on the app, in line with the leaflet but were greeted with a £69 bill on our table on the app. We questioned with a staff member who stated we had to wait to be table served. We then had to wait a long time for a server to come and serve us. When the food arrived, the sauce was cold and was over the side of plate on one pizza. I am disappointed with the presentation of it with the lack of cheese and clear disregard of quality check. The server at the end whilst giving us our bill showed a disinterest for valuing our request of using a different voucher to what was applied, commenting that it would take too long (the restaurant had slightly cleared by now). The toilets were vile - the smell was disgusting, making me feel sick. I am extremely disappointed and ashamed of our low standard visit and shall never visit again. It ruined our day - we came home and all we were talking about was how this ruined our day out. Wish we could give 0 stars!

It’s not a secret that the central places of the capital are risky places to eat out. The logic is that they get enough foot traffic from tourists not to care too much about ppl not returning. But sometimes you need to take guests for a quick bite, and some previously “reliable” chain conveniently located… I could say one thing - don’t come here, the service will spoil your mood. Imagine have to wait and wait and wait to put an order. Imagine you waive at the waiter standing 2 steps away and he looks at you and walks away. Eventually you order your food with someone having almost hostile facial expression and dismissive attitude.. order comes 2 dishes short, you have to go out looking yourself. Same story with the bill. I’m hurriedly apologised to my horrified guests and left never to come back again.

We booked for +/- 100 people. Were promised everything would be on time. Pre-ordered all the meals. Arrived early and immediately reminded them of the time frame. Were obligated to order desert, but did not want to. Then had to leave because the service was so slow we would have missed Wicked otherwise. None of us got our desert and one of us was told her meal was gluten free, which it was not. Then: not even a tiny sorry. Never again.

Very quick and friendly place to eat

Had a really nice lunch at the Pizza Express on the Strand. Was welcome and seated promptly. Janine (a very pleasant and attentive server) came over and I asked for regular iced water and she brought me a bottle. I ordered a relatively light lunch. Dough Balls Al Forno (I have to admit the “It’s Back!” on the menu lured me in, and a surprisingly good size Side Rocket Salad. The food came quickly (more quickly than I expected) but the place still had some empty tables when I came in. It was tasty. I hadn’t expected to go to Pizza Express on this trip, and had never been before to one, but I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this one.

Basic pizza, but can we please talk about the 7£ tiny balls Arancinis starters ? In Italy they are 5 times bigger and cheaper. You can do better than that.

The food we ordered was good but we initially had the incorrect order but this was amended. I think the service needs alot of improvement the wait staff were polite but needs training on getting the correct order for the table. The manager was rude - understandably the place was under-staffed and it was busy but you shouldn't be rude to your customers and you should set an example for your staff on how to handle high pressure environments.

This place is always a good bet for last minute food, opposite Charing Cross Station, very handy for everything close by. Nice staff, pleasant ambience, good facilties. Pizza fresh and hot, decent drinks too. Recommended!
