Our tour company had accidentally made the reservation at a different location. This restaurant immediately helped our group of 43 people. The food was delicious, the portions were a bit small.

Review from my visit in December, this place is unrecognisable from a few years ago sadly. My main issue is the service which slightly ruined a family meal. Went upstairs, sat at a table, someone came and told off "this area is closed" and moved a couple tables down. One of the dishes came 20 minutes after the others, had no apology. We asked the waiter (after like 10 minutes of literally trying to find a waiter) if we could speak to a manager as the last dish that came was cold, and he never came back, only realised after that he understood no English and hadn't understood anything we tried to ask about the food delay. Honestly, hopeless and couldn't be bothered to try to speak to someone on the way out, just left and won't ever go back. I'd been about 20 times within a 2 year period when I came here at lot 5 years ago hence a bit of a nostalgic trip back, sadly never again.

Very good experience today with my Gamberetti! Cheers to Raziul and the chef.

We had very nice meal at Vapiano with my firend, Paulina was amazing, we got grest service.

Visited today , it wasn’t overly busy but stood at the sign for ages waiting to be seated despite four staff not actually doing anything . Girl finally came over but wasn’t particularly polite , no smile, welcome etc. we ordered our starters and main course , main course turned up before our starter and it was then suggested that we start eating our main and they will bring main course over . They then said well the main will have to sit under a heater then . One starter came over but had to chase for second one . Goodness good bit service was awful ! Wouldn’t visit again . Afterwards someone said we should have gone to Pontis just down the road

Had a slight mishap with the food, however Mohammed razul Islam was excellent and catered to our needs. Man with morals excellent waiter and I hope to come across waiters like this in the future. Keep up the good work!

amina was lovely! she got my friend a lovely cheesecake and candle for his birthday :) all the service was quick and delicious! we had some yummy yummy cocktails i highly recommend the passion fruit martini. alex was a lovely bartender! he made banging cocktails i must say they did not inform us that they moved his booking from upstairs to downstairs, and it would be helpful to be told at the entry to order through your phone. otherwise yoy spend some time jus twaiting for service

Very delicious. But space not enough

Had ordered salmon carbonara with linguine last night. Overall taste good but it was a bit watery than what I had last time in Vapiano. Staff were friendly and welcoming when I entered the restaurant.

Great pasta with shrimps, I can recommend it for lunch.

Unfortunately I need to update my thoughts. Since the renovation of the restaurant and the change in the order process, the quality of food dropped really badly. The meals I loved so much in the past has been reduced the really basic, almost microwaved Tesco meal quality. Nice chat with the chefs and meal customisation whilst cooking is gone. I'm really soory for this as I loved the place in the past (see my original review below) but I don't think I'll be coming anytime soon. ____________________ Old review: My first choice restaurant when it comes to pasta! Fresh, straight out of the pan, friendly Italian crew guiding through the cooking, if you have an opinion already on how much garlic or chili you need, even highlighting that some of their sauces are made with wine. Great selection of pastas, fresh pizzas, really nice soups. I'm a frequent visitor, although be careful, evenings can be really busy!

The service was great, lovely friendly staffs. But the Carbonara I had here was the worst carbonara I’ve ever had in London.

Really bad food. At first, I ordered a spaghetti bolognese and it was overcooked, then i asked the staff to change the pasta to Penne, but it was the same. My mom ordered a prosciutto fungi pizza and the prosciutto wasn’t fresh and tasty. The place was not clean at all and the food price is to high for the quality they offer. This not even a real Italian restaurant, I don’t recommend it. (If I could I would put 0 stars, but that’s not in the options).

Vapiano is my favourite stop when in London, never fails to deliver good quality food! As I'm predominantly vegan I ordered the Alfredo not chicken version which was packed with mushrooms creamy sauce and chicken style pieces. My 5 year old enjoyed cheesy pasta with a side of carrots and cucumber and my two eldest had pizza and Normal Alfredo, all full up and satisfied. Majority of the staff are friendly but they are rushed off their feet and one in particular was very rude (looked like a manager) completely ignored us when we asked about a change of balsamic vinegar as the other bottle had a crack in it. Cost £52 for all four of us including g drinks and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will visit again when I'm next in town!

Beef bolognese is suitable for weekend vegetarians, coming with barely half a teaspoon of meat. We're talking individual, sand sized bits of mince, sparingly located in the dish. Photo shows it, even when stirred through with the tomato at the bottom, it was abysmal. Go on, try to spot them. It's a challenge! I am not exaggerating, the tiny (from frozen) little bits of garlic were twice the size and five times as present as these miniscule grains of minced beef. Had 100 times as much pancetta in the carbonara. Don't bother raising this with manager, insultingly says he can see meat there (not unless he has telescopic eyes from where he was sitting) and if he replaced the dish, it will be the same because that is how it should be. The chef followed the recipe, and the meat is already in the ragu. Well, the recipe is written by a skinflint and is frankly an insult to gastronomy and Italian food. Also, isn't it supposed to be fresh? Chef in party viewed, attempted to discuss basic gram portion sizes, Manager froze like a deer in headlights and refused to comment. Pointless and rude, unwilling to give any consolation as he and the dish were 100% acceptable and they were right... Sent photos to other chef friends, including Italians, in Italy, who called it a (quote) "Mappazzone" (You can guess who) Well, there goes the illusion of everything being made fresh, filling, of great quality and authenticity; what Vapiano was famous and worth the journey for. Have eaten at dozens in at least 5 countriss. This restaurant, frankly, is insulting in all ways. Go elsewhere. There are many much better genuine Italian restaurants in the area. If we hadn't prepaid and spent so long ordering via phone, in any other restaurant, I would have left the food and walked out.

Very good meal and very fast service. Quite pleasantly surprised after we work out how to use the app. Maun is great with good choice and very easy to customise dish. Food tasted and looked great. Very good value will definitely come back.

Used find here often in my uni days but things have really gone downhill. Ordered minutes apart from my friend but received my meal about half an hour after hers (we ordered the same thing). I can understand food taking a while but I genuinely had to ask someone after 30 mins if I could at least get my drink (a Coke). No tap water on the table and no one remotely bothered to ask or check in. Service was abysmal, considering everything is done via the QR code, the waiting staff were completely unavailable and unhelpful. The food was also disappointing tbh. Will not be coming back.

Food was ok, service is hardly any since everything has to be ordered via the app. The toilets were so dirty and had no paper. The ambience is just 0-8-15 Vapiano. I think Vapiano is no longer what it used to be, it's expensive and always the same. There is nothing gluten-free according to the menu

I’ve been everywhere in Italy, and this pasta definitely measures up because you can customise it to your taste. Easy ordering, especially with the discounts you get through the app and friendly staff added to the experience.

Vapiano offers a delicious taste of pasta and pizza. Served food is piping hot and delicious. With a bit of olive oil and salt pepper, it's a little feast that can satisfy all hunger. Polite and helpful staff. I shall definitely return to explore more pasta dishes.

Absolutely awful not one thing to redeem the experience, both portions of olio e aglio had garlic so burnt and acrid it was inedible. Took 45 minutes to bring ice cream, pizza way below average. Staff inattentive and useless. Terrible experience.

Food was nasty. I booked a table I came one time and my table was given away had to WAIT and stand for 20 while waiting for a table. Terrible service won't be back

this was possibly the best pasta ive ever had - it was really filling, fresh, came out quickly and there was a huge array of other foods on the menu (you’re spoiled for choice!) the place is clean, ambient and not too loud - overall, a really lovely experience. our server (Rushi) was lovely, efficient and very hospitable

Me and my friends went to Vapianos to break our fast for Ramadan. We went in and the table was dirty. We ordered using the QR code and one of us got our pizza 15 minutes later. The last 3 of us waited 40 minutes and still hadn't gotten our food. We waved a waiter down to ask and she said she'd sort it, 5 minutes later nothing, we asked again and she brought someone over who told us 'There is a theatre next door so it gets very busy' which is an awful excuse because that theatre is there every day. She told us it would be over in 3 minutes. We ended up waiting 10 more minutes before it came and our friend's (who decided to wait so we could eat together) pizza was ice-cold and as hard as a brick, our drinks were flat and our patience thin. The food was also mid. If we hadn't paid beforehand we would've gotten up and left. We hadn't eaten for 14 hours and ended up waiting 1 more. Not impressed.

Horrendous restaurant, used to go when I was a student and was really good which is going back in 2010 - 2014. I haven’t been for a while so thought it would be good suggestion to go with my wife for my birthday. However the standards has dropped dramatically. Food came out with wrong timing, my wife had to wait 25 minutes for her pasta which was not up to scratch and was missing the chicken. Also staff really didn’t care and hospitality level was below average. Also the tables/furniture was very dated. Would not go again.

The food was good. I really liked the pasta. Pizza was good, regular like any other pizza. Bruschetta was not so worth the price, it was okay. The ice tea was good. The order took too long, service was okay.

Great food. The carbonara was excellent. Added some chicken on top. Service was good as well. The pasta is as good as some of the best we had before.

Noodles taste like they were from 3 days ago. We were told to scan the QR code and then order using it. You had to download an app beforehand. We didn't have them and when we asked if you could order “normally” we said no. Then we asked someone else and they said yes. It's overpriced and disgusting. We don't normally waste food but this wasn't edible! Wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.

Pizza base was very good and had fresh toppings but taste could have been better. Pieces on pizza were quite largely cut

How this great restaurant has changed since Covid! Service gone down a little bit and the fact that you no longer can go up to order directly with chef’s has taken the novelty factor away! Food is still not bad though.

Very average, got our order wrong 3 times and then acted like it was our fault for giving the wrong order originally when we hadn’t. Had to be constantly reminded to bring extras from the order. Food itself was average. Wouldn’t go again

My daughter loves vapiano and its concept of live fresh cooking. She insisted on taking us there. At the beginning I was not excited, but when I tasted the food, I was very happy and content that I didn't change the location. Food is fresh, very tasty and they present it in a very nice presentation.

Requested an upstair seat as it was my birthday they seated me downstairs instead. The chicken Alfredo was very bad overall 4/10 and was my first time here very underwhelming experience and overrated restaurant

Food took over 30 minutes to arrive and unfortunately we couldn't stay as we had a film to catch. Main complaint is that the restaurant was clearly inundated with Deliveroo orders which is really disappointing as it's not the first time I've seen this happen in recent months at other restaurants. Crazy to me that Deliveroo orders end up being prioritised over customers who are willing to pay and ready and waiting to eat. Oh, and the spaghetti looked anaemic and lacked seasoning and flavour. Very disappointing.

I’m a regular customer specifically in this branch, I always feel welcomed with a smile from the staff, the food always fresh and delicious… the branch manager Tes deserves a 5 stars, always comes and check on us if we need anything and if we have any issues with the food or the experience, he is truly a valued manager.

I always wanted to try this place but the pasta was really bad 🥴 (Not al dente as it should be). I wouldn’t recommend this place for pasta.

I used to love Vapiano, been twice now in a couple of months to the Great Portland Street one and everything is lacking. The ordering via a QR code loses what you had of going and watching your food being made. Then the food was mediocre. Today the bruschetta - the slice of bread was ridiculously thick and wasn't even toasted and the tomatoes weren't marinated properly and this big pile of rocket was thrown on top. Also it's an Antipasti and it came after my main dish. I used to love going and now I'm not going to try again which is a shame as it used to be amazing.

Quite possibly the worst pasta I've ever had at a restaurant. Ordered the bolognese - noodles were an overcooked, mushy clump and the sauce barely had any beef. Absolutely tragic and will never go back.

Nous y avons manger en famille. Nous étions 10 et avons été très bien accueilli. Nous avons eu affaire à Tes, très agréable, reste à proximité de ses clients et essaye de s’adapter lorsque ce sont des touristes en parlant leurs langue, merci à lui pour l’effort ! Concernant la nourriture, tout le monde a fini son assiette y compris nos enfants en bas âge, c’était très bon. Nous reviendrons et je recommande vivement !

I hope you guys understand that is 100% nothing about racism. But Vapiano is nothing the same as it was few years ago. No more Italian chefs, only Indians or Asians, the pasta don’t taste anything near of what it was. So disappointing

First time visit and not inclined to go back: Not bad value and food not bad - but equally nothing special. I like my pasta al dente but this was a bit of too firm; also not much sauce and sauce was bland and it arrived tepid rather than hot or even warm. It arrived 10 mins before my companions pizza (both ordered at same time on same order) - appreciate pizza may take longer to cook but it would have been usual for both to arrive together, or to at least have been asked or warned beforehand that the pasta would be first. I had nearly finished eating before my friend started hers. She did enjoy the pizza though. Dessert was vegan which was good to see (Biscoff a La crème) but it was a little bland. Staff seemed friendly but not massively attentive. Ladies toilets were dirty and messy with a number of them blocked up and out of use and no working hand driers.

O ambiente é muito barulhento e o atendimento só existe no preparo e entrega na mesa, portanto praticamente inexiste. Mas a comida é muito boa.

Great pasta dishes with the choice of making just the way you like it. The add ons can be a bit pricey though. I got the vegan chicken Alfredo, with extra vegan cheese on top, it was delicious and had plenty of vegan chicken pieces. I also got the bread sticks with the sauces, those were amazing as they were fresh out the oven, soft and warm in the inside and paired greatly with all the dips. It was very filling though so I can to take the rest home! The pizza was a chicken bbq pizza which was also nice but nothing too special.

My order was not what I expected.The manager was attentive and took this in her own hands to reach my expectations Great service.

Why is the COVID system of taking payments through a QR code still there?

First time visiting Vapiano, I had high expectations due to hearing about it online and through friends. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with garlic oil and shared a cheesy garlic bread with my friend. The pasta was nice I didn’t get much garlic from the dish but it wasn’t a big deal. Atmosphere was very loud as it was a Saturday afternoon, I would visit again but probably at a different branch and a different time of day.

Great food and quick service. Order and pay online and they bring it to your table.

Food: Tasted nice, good portions but not enough cheese on it and also not enough meat in comparison to other Italian restaurants. Everything else was okay Service: The woman at the desserts and cocktails didn’t wanna serve me a promotion of a 2 for 1 cocktail she asked me to go to the till and the till asked me to go to her, then in the end one of the waiters went and talked to the woman serving the cocktails but all that was unnecessary in my opinion. I did get any cocktails in the end but a lot of unnecessary hustle only because of this woman. Atmosphere -On another day I visited; Music was too loud to the point I couldn’t hear the other person speaking, and kindly asked to lower the music which they did and I appreciate it but I don’t think customers should ask for lower music in the first place, it’s a restaurant not a club.

I came to this restaurant with high expectations to try pasta, but I left the restaurant with a very disappointed feeling! Its pasta is simply not up to expectations for me! The pasta was overcooked and became mushy and it was almost hard to swallow! Will definitely not go back to this restaurant again!

I was not impressed with Vapiano. The seating is horrible, we reserved a table but you don’t really get a table you are just told to go upstairs and pick your seat. All the seats with a table was taken so you are left in there’s small seats with a coffee table on the middle, felt like I am in a cafe. Was not great with my painful back. When I raised it I was told they can’t do anything even though there is space on the other side.

Lugar um pouco atrapalhado, que você pede e a comida por aplicativo, paga por ele e ela é trazida ã sua mesa. No nosso caso, vieram bebidas erradas, e para trocar foi difícil. A qualidade da comida é razoável para boa, sem destaques positivos ou negativos. Pedimos uma massa, pizza e calzone.

This was my first visit to Vapiano and I wasn't impressed. When my friends and I got there, it was very cold, so we kept our jackets on in the restaurant and noticed other customers did the same thing. I ordered a pizza which was okay but a little while after eating my pizza I came across a piece of plastic in my mouth so I told the staff member who were very apologetic and offered me another pizza. This was the first time I'd visited here and will be the last.

Ever since I first ate at one of the establishments, Vapiano was my favourite place to eat in London and I would always plan to visit at least once when in London. The food was always very tasty and the ordering process straight forward. I also use to enjoy watching my meal being prepared. Sadly, as others have commented, it appears that Vapiano has changed for the worst. Firstly, customers now have to order using the app which I found to be a long-winded process. I ordered Chicken Alfredo which I’ve had at Vapiano numerous times previously and which I always thoroughly enjoyed. However, this time it wasn’t enjoyable at all. The chicken was tough and overcooked (it was brown) and the mushrooms were undercooked. I didn’t taste any balsamic onions and whereas previously the sauce was creamy, this time it was an oily residue. I really wish I had eaten elsewhere. Towards the end of the ordering process using the app, customers are asked whether they want to leave a tip; I do not think that this is the right way to go about this. A tip is to reward good service and good food which is impossible to determine at the ordering stage. I felt obliged to leave a tip at the ordering stage because staff would see the order. In addition, the table wasn’t clean and there was dirt where the lamp was. The Coca-Cola was enjoyable. Maybe I should have said something to the staff but I felt that would make a negative situation more negative; Besides, everything that was wrong are basics things that Viapiano should have got right first time. Suffice to say, I will not be returning to Vapiano again.

Went here with my boyfriend for a nice dinner as I’ve been to other branches. We ordered the chicken Alfredo and the vegan chicken Alfredo and asked for them to be mild in heat (chillies), nothing about the dish was mild, I kid you not, we each had one single chilli piece in our entire dish. We ordered two mocktails that were advertised with fresh fruit and ended up having to ask the waiters (who weren’t very attentive at all given the small amount of tasks they had to as everything was through a QR code) to add some. They brought us a single strawberry chopped into four. Very very very disappointed with this entire experience.

Great find, literally you can select a dish, then add / take away ingredients. Service and atmosphere was good too. Ordered online at our table and watched our food being cooked. loved it!

Went to dinner. The receptionist said we can't go upstairs as it is closed. As we could not find seating downstairs we went upstairs where already plenty of people were seated. And many more came. Not reservations. Why would lie to a customer

Food is good but the charm of this place is gone after you have to order everything from your table (and are asked to pay service charge before you are even served). Service is mediocre when they are busy. This used to be our go to place for quick and fun Italian but after our last visit, no more.

I have to this Vapiano branch several times. It was always an amazing experience. I'm not sure if management changed or, like in so many sectors, the economy has forced changes. The standards have dropped, and the quality of food and service are nothing to what they used to be. The very thing that made Vapiano special, watching how your meal is prepared can't be experienced anymore.Very disappointing. I will visit another branch, for the benefit of doubt.

The bolognaise was undercooked, did not taste well at all, aftertaste wasn’t good either

Great place just off Oxford St if you're needing good food in a hurry. The pizza are amazing.
