The staff working on Saturday lunch time need to be trained. It was not busy, and it took them 15 minutes to come and take the food order, even after being reminded. Both were young boys who clearly did not want to be there. Better training on how to deal with customers can make this experience much better. Food was good though, it came quickly, and we liked it.

Leadenhall Pizza Express is undoubtedly my favourite restaurant in London. As a frequent customer, I can vouch for the excellent and friendly service, delicious food and cosy atomsphere. The waiter Ivan is particularly friendly and attentive, and always makes sure that customers feel welcome. I will definitely be making many more visits in the future!

Cool waiter, good food. Was sold out of first choice: nicoise, Espresso was bad... should have sent it back but didn't feel like it. Bigger inside than it looks.

The pizzas were very nice but the service non existent! It seemed like all the waiters it was their last day post resignation and they all just really could not be bothered. They kind of knew it too and even did not add service charge to be bill! Which is rare in London nowadays. We had to almost beg the waiters to take our order and then to pay the bills. It was so unusual we were all laughing about it. Maybe this place is going to be closed down soon?

I have been eating today at noon. Several waiters, and the restaurant with 7 tables occupied, no more. They take our food order at 2:40 p.m., and it wasn't until 3:30 p.m. that we received the first dish: 3 pieces of completely COLD chicken fingers. And at 3:45 p.m., the next dish. We ask for the bill, and even this takes time. After telling him what happened, a waiter tells us that he will try to give us the first course for free, but his boss says no, and that he should give us 20%. Something is something. And they explain to us that they have a lot of work. I only highlight the attention of the waiter BERTIE, since in all of London, it has been the first time that they have tried to communicate with us in Spanish and he has also been very kind in everything. Just like Spaniards in Spain, we speak English, they should know a little Spanish abroad.

I was in a happy mood on a Wednesday evening and walked into Pizza Express for a nice warm meal whilst waiting for a friend to finish work and join me later. I ordered calamari as starter. It had black burnt particles and I could taste the disgusting taste of oil. I didn’t want to complain. I really wanted to have a nice experience with a nice meal out that day. As the starter left me with a weird taste in my mouth, I was put off having the main course. I ordered for dessert and had really high expectations as there was no way a warm chocolate brownie could go wrong. I even told the waiter, the reason I wanted to go for the chocolate brownie is because I wanted to enjoy a warm dessert with melted chocolate and have the ice cream on the side. To my disappointment the brownie came as a block of ice cold brick piece of brownie with ice cream scoop on top - nice presentation but at first bite it was just a brick of cold brownie. I told the waiter that brownie was too cold and was nothing as I expected. The waiter said he was sorry that I don’t like the dessert and to my shock he said if he takes it away and if he brings back the brownie burnt, I shouldn’t complain. I didn’t quite understand why he would do that and say that. It was unacceptable to even bring burnt food or even warn a customer not to complain if the food comes burnt. He brought back the dessert horribly presented and visibly burnt with the same scoop of vanilla ice cream but now turned into a discussing greyish colour and all horribly melted on the side. I couldn’t believe this. The waiter stood there and asked me to have the first bite. I had a first bite of the brownie and it was charcoal burnt. I told him it was burnt and he said I told you so. I got so upset 😭 and my entire evening just spoilt. By this time my friend joined me and I just didn’t want to stay there any longer, I paid the entire bill of £20 and walked out. I just couldn’t imagine a place like that with such a wonderful location, would have such disappointing service. I’ve never written a Google Review before but this experience just compelled me.

We had a very good dinner. I really enjoyed pizza. We treated ourselves to a dessert with coffee. All in all a very good place to satisfy your hunger in the beautiful atmosphere of Leadenhall Market.

The locations chosen by this pizza chain are always strategic, the pizzas are ultra fine and quite good.

I’ve only tried the classic pizza and it was ok the staff is very friendly and the place really nice There are more tables downstairs

Thinnest pizza on earth for 15 £ Good service though

I ordered a cocktail, for 9 pounds I got a very sad little cocktail, with 1 sad mint leaf in it. Small glass and not even full. Well that's fine because it tasted good. Then we ordered pizza. Waited a very long time, even though the restaurant was not full. Pizza came and was very cool, as if it had been out of the oven for a long time. It tasted good, but tasted cold. The staff is really not friendly. We were not greeted or waved goodbye, and the lady with black curls rolled her eyes at guests. We also sat close to the bar where they were constantly throwing cutlery loudly. Cutlery was dirty, glasses dirty The restaurant looks cozy, and the atmosphere with other guests was nice. Staff with their grumpy faces ruin the atmosphere.

Easy service and good thin crust pizzas, in a covered passage, “Parisian passages” style.

Customer service was terrible had taken a seat at a table totally understand you need to wait to be seat but the way the service lady had treated me and my partner for taking a seat it could have been handled a lot better then what she had done, we were that discussed we left and didn’t get food. Customer service is everything and getting treated how we did and not getting food says a lot.

We went today at lunch time to enjoy a family meal downstairs, and unfortunately we've had a bad experience with the manager shouting at to one of the waitresses just before she took our order, it was a very uncomfortable moment especially when the waitress took our order with tears in her eyes, considering she was very professional taking our order, it's a human right and no one should treat employees like this. Food and service was great but we will never return to this branch knowing this is how the manager mistreats his staff.

The food was very tasty, especially the pizzas are highly recommended! The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's okay for London standards. The location right on Leadenhall Market is ideal and the atmosphere is really cute. The waitresses were also super friendly. We were there twice during our stay and would love to come back if we ever end up in London again!

I wish I could give service 6 stars. Our waitress Alex was amazing. We told her that we have limited time and are in rush and she did everything she could to make our food delivered to our table on time. She was amazing. She even suggested we get the bill before the food arrives so we don’t have to wait once food is finished. Amazing. She was polite, professional and super helpful. Amazing experience

Upon arrival there was No one to welcome us for about 6 mins! We were just standing there awkwardly until a waitress came and gave us a weird look and said the table is not ready and left us. After 10 mins we finally sat down and a waiter came to take our order but he wasn’t listening and kept asking us to repeat.. The restaurant and food was lovely just the staff wasn’t attentive which ruined the experience really..

Pesto is ok but Pizza is really bad . No taste and its look like frozen one . I ordered a drink and find out that the glass is dirty ( with 💄 ) So I highly not recommend this place at all Thanks

I recommend this restaurant which is really located in a very nice place. The decoration is on point. The servers are very helpful and very attentive. The only downside is that depending on certain dishes, the quality is not there. And second point, we were all served out of time... and this is a big downside for me. On the other hand, for the children we had colored pencils and a coloring hat which allowed them to wait!

Very nice restaurant, the atmosphere is really, the waiter with the glasses was great, he was very attentive The food was plentiful, but not of very good quality, there were four of us and one dish arrived five minutes after the others, a shame because we ate out of time. The restaurant is very famous, there are a lot of people all the time. The toilets were clean. This restaurant is located in a beautiful gallery

The service here is fantastic. Smiles all around and very efficient. However, where it is busy, it lacks personalability. Which left me feeling more like a number than a customer. The food tasted ok. But it could use some room for an improvement. It did not blow me away like some other restaurants of the same brand. Its positioning is an advantage. A great meal if you're near the neighbouring hotels.

Very nice branch of Pizza Express and really good, especially for children. In addition to activities, there is a chef's hat for each child and the children's 3-course menu was great and the pasta was a very large portion for children. We adults also enjoyed it and tasted great. Thank you very much!

Unexpected great dinner! Ivan was by far the best waiter I have had since I moved to London 12 years ago. I never go to Pizza Express so this was a one off, but I think I would go back just for his generous spirit.

I ended up eating here twice with my family during our holidays. The menu is probably one of the best designed I’ve come across, even includes calories for those with dietary restrictions. I had both a pizza and chicken parmigiana and both were really tasty, not greasy at all. The service was great, it was also nice that the staff recognized us the second time, despite having so many different customers daily.

We were the first people to arrive for lunch. We had fantastic service and a great meal. We started with an appetizer and then finished with a pizza. The American dough balls were spot on. They gave us some garlic and pepper oil to enjoy them with. The pizzas were thin crust and crispy. I had the bbq burnt tips pizza. It was a bit too sweet from the bbq sauce. My colleague had a spicy pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. I enjoyed a slice of that more than the pizza I ordered. The menu is huge and I will definitely return to try other options.

The Lasagna and mozzarella sticks definitely a must try. Order the halloumi bites as well. Brilliant service, even when staff was just one person.

Over priced garlic bread that had the consistency of chewy cheese on toast followed by a pizza that couldn’t seem to keep the toppings attached to the base, very over priced and underwhelming

My wife and I shared spicy chicken wings and a Panada pizza and I had a pomegranate spritzer to drink. Everything we ordered was superb and I wish I had a 2nd stomach to order more. The staff was attentive and friendly. The fantastic person who took our order recommend we go downstairs and look at the photos of the old market, glad we did, it was neat.

Ordered via their website for self collection at their store, and the pizza was ready on time! ⏰ 🍕 pizza was huge and could definitely fill 2 pax easily, the funghi de Bosco that I ordered was a decent pizza which had good flavours all round Definitely a good spot to return for a quick pizza fix 👍🏻

Went here to get a quick lunch/dinner with my partner and the service was embarrassing. As someone who worked as a waitress myself who was constantly nagged for always doing something wrong even though I was dedicated and committed to my jobs, it’s surprising these waiters still have jobs…. Ordered 2 cokes and 2 pizzas, the guy only served us 1 Coke and when he gave our pizzas, he didn’t give us a pizza cutter like a lady being us had, we had to cut our pizzas with a knife and fork, it was really difficult. When we asked for the bill, the same guy who served us took the payment and my partner told me when he pressed no tip, he started being rude, like walking away and not speaking to us the entire time, slapping the receipt on the table in anger. I won’t be going back here again. The pizza was nice though

The guy from the moment we entered told us that he was about to close, he wanted us to leave, there was 35 minutes left until they closed, it never happened to me in my life to enter a restaurant and be rushed like that, hahahaha it must be the English soul

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Pizza Express, marked by rudeness and unacceptable behaviour. We had reserved a table for five people for today. Upon arrival, I was waiting for someone to escort us to our table. One of my friends went to use the restroom, but unexpectedly, someone (who I believe was the restaurant manager) stopped him. This person rudely informed my friend that he couldn't use the restroom. When I explained that we had a reservation, he replied that it didn't matter and that we needed permission to use the restroom. This was highly disrespectful. Ultimately, we decided not to dine there. I will never revisit Pizza Express.

overpriced and way to long time waiting to get your food

We weren't very hungry, so the five of us only ordered 3 pizzas, but we also had to try the fried halloumi offered as a side dish, which was a great choice. As are the pizzas. Even a great Italian espresso went down so we paid just over £50. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, the place is beautiful and cozy!

Good price quality ratio, delicious pizza and friendly service. They have a lot of food options and wine selections.

Excellent pizza and nice service, only the music could be a little quieter - but we will definitely be happy to come back.

Had a fabulous family lunch at Pizza Express Leadenhall Markets. Many thanks to Ray, our server. He is probably one of the best we have met on our 2 week visit to London. We will most definitely return for seconds.

The pizza was way overpriced and didn't even taste as good as a frozen pizza. Totally not worth the money.

Stopped here to feed my hungry kids. I ordered fried calamari for myself as appetizer. Was not impressed with it. Batter was bland and calamari was super soft/soggy like. My youngest had small pepperoni pizza and my oldest had carbonara. The carbonara later gave her a stomach ache. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. £37.00 for all dishes plus drinks ok. Would I return? Most likely not. On a side note, whilst there, there was a birthday party downstairs with about 15 rowdy kids and they got to make their own personal pizza which I thought was fun!

It was a really memorable night coming here. I've wanted to come here for a long time! Beautiful historic market of course; doesn't fail to impress, the experience at Pizza Express was equally memorable! Thank you to all the team.

So we to this place ( family of four) on 29th may '2024 for lunch. We were visiting from India. The person at the entrance said that the place is full even though there were vacant tables lying. I went for a takeaway downstairs and saw people freely walking in and occupying tables. Clear example of racism and I called out the same in front of that very same person and he had nothing to say. Wish I knew his name, would have publicised him here.

Went for lunch with wife and 2 children for lunch. From the moment we arrived the service was brilliant, waitress (Ines) was taking an interest in a children and was asking them questions, was really interactive with them and couldn’t do enough for us in general. Service was really good from everyone and pizza was really nice. Children especially enjoyed it and kids menu is great value for money.

The quality of the meals served has nothing to do with the price. Arrancini is correct, but the pizza has nothing to do with real Italian pizza, just an ordinary pie with toppings. We were tempted by the great location and Google rating, but ultimately we were disappointed.

I have been to Pizza Express up and down the country and I must say that this branch does the best pizza, dough balls. It is so fluffy and light how the dough should be, perfect. ALL Pizza Express should follow what they do. BRILLIANT fantastic service as well well well done 👏

Visited this leadenhall market pizza express for a work social. We were offered Prosecco on arrival follow by a pizza making session which was super fun and interactive, the host were enthusiastic and encouraging and we got to enjoy the fruits of our labour afterwards by munching down the pizza which was great! What’s not to love!

One of the best pizza places I’ve been to in London. The whole aesthetic of the place is magical. Delicious pizzas. The only downside is the staff. Some pretty serious looking waitresses that also seem to came out of a fairytale as the main villains. Also, the underground level though cute, smelled of mould.

Avoid this particular restaurant. We went there for lunch midweek and ordered chicken wings and beef pizza. The wings were greasy and oily with a really strong garlic smell. The fatty skin was still on them and they hadn’t been cleaned properly. They were horrible wings. We didn’t eat those and told the waitress to take them. The pizza was cold, with hardly any beef on it and was soaked in bbq sauce. What a disappointing experience. We won’t go back there again. Do yourself a favour and try a different place if you’re in the area.

Exceptionally disappointing. Although atmosphere and service were good, the kitchen must’ve forgotten to add any flavour to the food. It could’ve been the food we ordered (I had a chicken calzone and my friend had some barbecue pizza), both supposedly contained highly seasoned items like pesto and grilled chicken yet somehow tasted like almost nothing. There wasn’t even salt and pepper at the tables in case you wanted to make it flavourful. The calzone wasn’t hardly sealed together either, it fell apart right in my hands. And all that for 40 quid. I would highly suggest that all the chefs go to Tesco and invest in some salt and other seasonings in order to create food that tastes like SOMETHING. Additionally, the glasses we got were dirty, and when I tried to swap them out for glasses from another empty table, they were also unclean. I hope that one day, someone will discover the art of thoroughly cleaning dishes in this restaurant. Overall, outrageously high prices for unsatisfying food and unclean dishes.

We had such a good evening and were looked after so well last night. The staff are lovely - attentive without being intrusive, efficient, funny and gave us really good recommendations. The food was delicious too and the atmosphere and location are wonderful! Thank you for a great evening

Delicious food on a Quiet Monday night in pizza express. Service was great food was amazing definitely recommend and would go here again.

I liked everything. To begin with, the location, in a beautiful market. I even learned that Leadenhall Market has existed since 1321, and is situated in what was the center of Roman London! Then the fact that it was basically the only restaurant open on a public holiday. Very attentive service, beautiful and pleasant atmosphere, great pizza and delicious dessert.

I came to dine with my family and young child & Ray was honestly spectacular. He went out of his way to make my daughter happy. She hasn’t stopped talking about going back there soon and talk to her new friend ray. Food was spectacular & Ray gave such amazing recommendations.

The food was absolutely marvellous! No words. Just incredible tasting food which I am eager to try again and again. Standout quality, Italian vibe and beautiful aesthetic restaurant. Staff was also very friendly.

It was a nice service. I love the calebrese. Order with extra mozzarella because maybe it is extra spice :)

Fabulous pizza, food was amazing

Had a good meal here for lunch today. It’s in a great location and we ate downstairs which we think used to be a butchers cellar or a wine cellar and is very well presented. There were six of us and it was perfect for a big group of us. We just had pizza as a main. No starter or dessert but there was plenty of options. As a chain they have good consistency so you always know what you will get. I went for the La Reine without olives. It arrived as requested. I’ve uploaded some of the pizzas we had. Everyone said the food was good. I’ve not given it five stars because there is better pizza out there but this is solidly good. Service was great, I was a little cold and although they couldn’t do much about it they were genuinely willing to try to help. Pizza and a coke for twenty pounds in this part of London isn’t bad either. I would go again, but it’s not somewhere I would go often mainly because pizza can be a bit heavy when you need to go back to work after.

If you want to eat flavorless pizza, this is the ideal place. The ONLY good thing is the atmosphere, it only serves to have a few beers and that's it... They don't know the taste, the salt and the seasoning.....

Its Pizza Express, there's nothing that describes it better than pizza raming you in yhe face with flavor like a maglev train at full speed covered in cheese. Its just that great. If you like bread/cheese/meat/ or anything else, go here.
