A lovely meal with a very smiley and helpful waitress. Rhianna made sure we had everything we needed and was very patient with all our requests.

Very poor service, waited over an hour for main courses although the restaurant very quiet. Then argued about discount voucher.

I never complain but this was so bad The pizza was like a piece of cardboard And what looked like ravioli was swimming in a creamy water no flavour at all What a waste of money!!!!!!! I would rather of gone hungry These places that serve up this crap should be closed down it’s outrageous they are allowed to serve this as food and ask us to pay for it 🤬

We had such a good time here. Went as friends for a catch up and bottomless brunch. Our server Lauren E was so lovely! Staff were very friendly and on point with serving us. Would highly recommend! Good food, great atmosphere, drinks were nice. Will definitely be returning

Prezzo Rayleigh was a welcome addition to Rayleigh when it first opened. In more recent years the quality of the food has been in decline. I ate there a year ago and was relieved that I didn’t order my favourite dish, Carbonara, after seeing my friends being served it. It was a bowl of congealed pasta with scrambled egg stirred through it. I would have refused to accept it. They couldn’t eat it. I then heard that other friends had also had disappointing meals there. So when a different friend suggested we eat here as she had a discount, I was wary after my last experience. The restaurant was busy so I thought that was a good sign. I really wanted the lobster bisque but I thought there was too much for Prezzo to get wrong. I ordered a pizza. My friends ordered the lobster bisque and the mushroom risotto. When my pizza arrived my friends commented on the lack of toppings. Then there’s arrived. A few pieces of lobster ravioli with no bisque. My friend assumed the chef had forgotten to pour the sauce on. But the waitress returned the plate saying the bisque was on the plate. Not that it could seem with the naked eye! Very disappointing. My other friend’s risotto topped the ravioli. Her mushroom risotto was served as a bowl of grey soup. We just laughed as it look so unappealing. She stirred her ‘soup’ to find the rice and slivers of a few mushrooms. I made them wait until I finished my scantily topped pizza before I suggested ordering dessert. By this time, they were so fed up that they couldn’t face Prezzo getting that wrong too. It’s such a shame that the food in this restaurant is just so awful. We raised it with the waitress but what could she do? She spoke to the kitchen but they advised that what we received was how they served their dishes. We paid over £90 with a discount card. We tipped the waitress as it was not her fault that the food was so awful but I would have been happier for my friends to not have paid for their food. We will not be back.

We decided to give this restaurant a try dispite the recent negative reviews … We didn’t book , we walked in and thay had a table for two ( a booth ) available . The heating was cranked up , lovely and warm , the waitress Sophie was attentive and took our drink and food orders . She returned swiftly with our drinks , and soon our starters arrived , garlic bread was nice and home made , and the olives also good . The beer was good angelo poretti , never had this before . Then the mains , calzone was lovey , hot , and well cooked . My daughter had the pasta , which was also good . We was happy with the food and service . Thanks again .

Disappointing food I chose to Ignore the reviews, big mistake Starters was nothing special , garlic bread very dry , antipasto board was dull My mains consisted of 2 dry tough bits of chicken swimming in water from the cabbage and a dry microwaved potato Pizzq toppings was sparse Pasta not cooked correctly Nothing had been seasoned The only positive thing is the staff who was very friendly

Went there last night for my Grandaughters birthday.This restaurant was recommended to us, but wont be going there again. The starters were ok but the toppings were few and far between. The main coarses needed a lot to be desired. I ordered spaghetti,crab and chilli. The crab was nowhere to be found and the pasta was cold. The broth or what ever it was in the bottom of the bowl was just cold pasta water.....Completely NO flavour in this dish.The price of the house wine was criminal. All our meals were over priced and not enjoyable. None of us enjoyed the food, but it was a family night out, great company but spoilt by a sub standard meal.The only positive thing was our waitress was lovely and very attentive. If only the food was on par with the waiting staff. Very very disappointing experience.

Table for seven Saturday evening. Mistake! Took 40 minutes for half of our drinks to arrive. Polite nudge for the rest to come. Half of the ice had already melted in the glass. Add another hour plus for food! Pizzas generally ok, delighted they were moderately warm! Pasta OMG pathetic! Wife ordered chicken Al Forno and complained of it being cold. My wife never complains, so coupled with the wait its safe to say I was agitated. As my own replica Al Forno approached moments later I asked waiter if it was hot. Was told in no uncertain terms it was straight out of the oven. A meal known for its thermonuclear temperature, Al Forno, a.k.a Alan Furnace to his friends, was anything but scorchio. In my quiet rage I plunged a digit, American Pie style, into the food confident it wouldn’t melt off. I think my finger may have heated the dinner. Remarkably, adequate replacements turned up two minutes later. Proficient! We skipped dessert. I’m giving an extra star just in case they were amazing. Oh! One other thing, pasta was probably cold because it was a half sized serving. Thinking back to those science lessons on conduction, convection and radiation. In history lessons: rationing!

Out with friends from work so a group of ten. Ordered a veggie pizza with added toppings of onion (about a teaspoon), peppers and mushrooms (a lot of these but greasy and over cooked). Plate was cold. Couldn’t eat it quickly enough so food was also cold before I finished. Dessert menu small and a little uninspiring. Ordered Tiramisu which was ok. Couple of friends who ordered one of the chicken salads said the meat was a bit chewy. Pleasant service, place was almost empty. Wheelchair access might be tricky due to small steps at entrance. Car parking outside though very very limited. Main car park on road behind, Do I recommend.? Yes if you like cheese. I don’t which is why I struggled. Will I go back? Not by choice.

The restaurant had a nice ambience We were showed to our table by Alfie he was very friendly happy and attentive. The meal was great probaly the best Prezzo I've been in for a long time . I would definitely recommend, and also return .

Went there today with my wife for lunch and was told table was available but we had to pay by card so we walked out I can’t believe I am being told by someone I HAVE to pay by card when I have cash this is not a cashless society so we walked along and spent our sixty pounds at pizza express will never return to a prezzo again

Great if you like screaming kids. Good food. High prices. Enjoyable if you are not fussy about lots of screaming children.

The garlic bread starter was tiny and the pizza was bland and tasteless. The venue also lacks a decent atmosphere and felt like a school canteen. The only positive was the service, which was great. However, we are not planning to go back.

Visited on a busy Friday evening and well… all I can say is that the staff worked hard and were attentive to every need. From a tap water to our food they served it all with a smile. Our waitress was Amber and she delivered… a credit to the Prezzo name and restaurant! big credit to the chefs for the food (chefs kiss). Will be visiting again! Xo

All staff were lovely and the food was great. However to have 4 people serving/ behind bar on a Friday night is absurd. They were clearly run of their feet. We ordered two drinks from our waiter which was then put through on the till, however we could then see our drinks sit on the side of the bar for 15 minutes?! In the end my friend got up and got the drinks herself as we had already had our starter and didn’t want to wait any longer. Clearly management need to get more staff in as service is lacking. Thanks again to the waitor and waitress who served us, you were both very good, thank you!

We booked a table of 6 for a special birthday this evening and where do I start... We arrived 15 minutes before our table booking and was seated straight away. However, we were then sat for over half an hour without a single member of staff attending to us. We could see they were short staffed, but for nobody to even come over to us to apologise for the wait or let us know of any expected delay in service was just awful. Having sat at our table for over half an hour without someone even having taken an order of drinks from us we decided we were not waiting any longer and decided to grab our coats and leave as we wanted to eat before sunrise. We told the guy who seated us we were leaving just to be told "Okay no problem, thank you" which goes to show they were not even bothered in the slightest about loss of custom this evening.

This place is quality. I remember it being a pub but it's been expanded and like a tardis now. Food was lovely I especially liked the meatballs. Service was great and very helpful. Will definitely be going back and be referring to friends and family.

6 friends to eat. Table booked for 7pm. Ordered all food and drink fairly quickly. Starters went well (except we had to get up and ask for cutlery). Had to ask for a jug of water 4 times. First 2 main meals came out completely wrong (not what we had ordered) The manager came over and checked what we had ordered, write it down again as the server had not written the order correctly. At approx 8.40pm finally got our mains, 1 cold, one again not what was ordered. The manager came over and offered to take those 2 meals off of the bill. The food was "okay" At 9.40 with dirty plates still in front of us we had to get up and ask for the bill as we had been left for a long time. We were initially going to have dessert but as it was almost 10pm none of us could be bothered to wait any longer. When asked they stated they only had 2 staff in the kitchen, but that didn't explain the lack of service, cutlery, 2nd drinks, water, desserts or plates not being cleared. Will not be rushing back any time soon

First day open since lockdown . Wow what a great lunch and even better as 50% of eat out to help out campaign. I obviously chose the pepperoni pizza with chilli oil and yummy it was to . My wife had the prawns with spaghetti and a tad of chilli . All served very promptly by very polite staff . Looking forward to our next visit

A visit to celebrate a birthday left us very disappointed. Amongst other dishes ordered, 4 of our party ordered the Calamari starter. This was described as softened toenails! The main course fish dish wash over cooked and dry. All in all, we felt that the food was of microwave quality. The service was slow. We had to return a bottle of wine that was ordered with other drinks as it turned up half an hour later. This might be expected with a restaurant at full capacity but it was around 80% full. For the prices charged and no vouchers available for Saturdays, this offers very poor value for money

We booked here to utilise a gift voucher we had been given for Christmas. The staff were quickly able to give us the relevant set menu, were knowledgeable about what we could order from the main menu. The food was tasty and filling. Our only criticism was that I was given the wrong order, it was quickly resolved and a new pizza cooked for me. The staff were very apologetic to me about this and dealt with it quickly. Overall a lovely meal.

Overall, the food was nice and we enjoyed each of the three courses we had. We were however disappointed with the service. We booked a table for two, however when we arrived and told them we had a reservation, the staff member looked confused and had to ask another member of staff where we could be seated. This made us feel quite unwelcome, if there wasn’t room for us, we shouldn’t have been able to book. When it came to the main course, I was initially given the wrong dish by the waiter. This was noticed by the staff after a couple of minutes and they came over to change it, before I mentioned it to them. On reflection, probably wouldn’t visit again. However would visit another Prezzo, as we enjoy the food.

As we had a voucher we went to Rayleigh for lunch. My husband had gluten free pasta which was cold and had to be sent back.I had a pizza which was horrible. Hardly any topping on it.About3 halved olives ,a couple of tiny spinach leaves and a tiny bit of cheese in the middle. Was completely tasteless. The staff were very nice and took it off the bill but certainly won’t be returning to Prezzo in a hurry!

I was meeting a previous work colleague for lunch to discuss our previous holiday. I received an email from Prezzo offering a voucher so we decided to go.We both ordered their low calorie pizza which comes with a salad. It was really delicious. The food arrived promptly and the waitress was really polite and friendly.Highly recommended

Ordered a takeaway from Prezzo Rayleigh. Apart from the fact the food was stone cold, we didn’t get what we had ordered or paid for. When we got the food home the adult pizza I had ordered and paid £11 for was actually the size of a child’s pizza. I ordered the tre gusti that is supposed to come with chicken, pepperoni and pancetta, but only had pepperoni on it.

Have been here many times, on evenings out with friends, and have always been very impressed.....the food and atmosphere having always been very good. However, when I took my mum here for a mid week lunch, it was like a different place....very quiet with only two other full tables.Nevertheless, I have to say that the food was just as nice as it always has been, with portion sizes substantial. Would recommend for an evening out but, due to a lack of atmosphere, would not be as keen to have lunch here again.

We decided on prezzo in Rayleigh for lunch today . The staff are very polite and took our order quickly . Our drinks arrived soon after followed by our choice of starters. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms and I had the baby squid . For mains my wife had spaghetti with prawns with a hint of chilli and I had the beetroot and lentil salad as I’m on a diet . Pizza needs more toppings . A group of us went after work. Place was almost empty. Restaurant looks really stylish & modern. Pasta dishes were large. I felt salad selection was small & all came with dough, which you didn’t want if you were avoiding carbs.

Despite living in Rayleigh for 6 years now, this is the first time we actually tried our local Prezzo.The entrance is very low key and unimposong from the outside and this place always appeared to look empty, but when we entered we were amzed as to how big it actually was!

Have been here a few times and normally when it isn’t busy and have found service poor, however, very busy 15/11/19 and can not fault the service , 10/10 and food was of good quality. Staff knew when to approach you and when to keep a distance . Forgot to take the name of the waitress, worth a visit as I feel it has improved vastly in the last few months .

My wife and I visited Prezzo while we were in Rayleigh . Service was prompt and cheerful and the food was excellent as always. It is always a pleasure to visit.

Prezzo in Rayleigh has great staff . We have dined there twice now and each time the staff have been polite, attentive and extremely helpful. The only negative comment I have is that though the food tasted delicious it could of been hotter.

My understanding of brushetta is bread slightly toasted then loaded with topping, not pizza base with sparce tomatoes and basil. Mains were all just as disappointing

Having visited here on several occasions recently without incident we were shown to our seats by friendly staff. Having eaten here before and ordered a white wine with a dash of lemonade without incident it seemed that today everything had changed. The restuarant manager (who's attitude and customer service skills left a lot to be desired) informed me I could only have a glass of wine with a bottled lemonade on the side.

Last minute booking on a tuesday night for a birthday bite to eat invited 4 friends and family , food was good service efficient and 30% off food deal meant a very reasonable evening out

Lunchtime visit for two, arriving about 2pm. We were using some Tesco vouchers and both selected a different pizza. Mine was advertised as a garlic mushroom pizza with advocado, spinach and olives, but as it was vegan, without cheese. I requested no olives but did want cheese, and this was fine. My friend had a Tropicana pizza. On arrival of our choices, both pizzas were served on a plate that was too small and the pizza hung over the edge. My friend requested a pizza cutter, which seemed to surprise the staff member, who said she would try to find one and bring it to us. It never arrived. It is difficult to cut through pizza bread on a china plate. Meanwhile we struggled to cut into the pizza, which kept sliding off the plate. By the time a third was eaten, the rest was cold. My pizza, entitled garlic mushroom with etc etc, had appx 5 or 6 slices of wafer thin mushroom, which was less than one whole mushroom! The toppings on both, apart from the advocado, were very sparce, and not for the first time, did I suspect that this is a deliberate ploy when serving customers who have said they have vouchers to use. I have in the past frequented Prezzos in Chelmsford, Brentwood and Halstead without using vouchers and the service and food is very much better. Although the pizzas were ok, the service was poor and it will def be my last visit to Rayleigh.

We went on a Friday evening and it was understaffed. Had to wait ages for food and drinks. Two of the hot dishes out of six were cold. The staff kept apologising but it made the evening drag and wasted lots of time complaining rather than enjoying ourselves.

Very attentive, service was excellent. Great food, good choice, and atmosphere. We weren’t rushed at all.

Second time to this location and I should have reviewed the first visit also. However, lovely staff, lovely food, not rushed at all and we will be back again next week. (Ditto this review for the first family visit also).

The Rayleigh Prezzo although part of a chain is in a traditional building in the HighStreet. It has an outside area as well as lots of room inside. We have eaten there a number if times and enjoyed every visit. The food is excellent and there is a modern approach to drinks with types of gin etc. Great for taking the children as well.

It was my birthday, I was looking forward to a child free evening with my husband for a drink and good food. Service started well, but the waitress didn’t have an extensive knowledge of the menu, I asked a couple of questions and she had to ask someone else the answers. The starters garlic bread with cheese and chutney was lush we both throughly enjoyed it however, when our mains came out although they looked wonderful the food was bearly warm which in my opinion runnied the dish, not wanting to complain as they were busy I ate most of my meal but to be honest didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped. We informed the waitress when she asked but nothing complimentary was offered. I left there feeling a bit let down and disappointed.

I went for lunch with my daughter, I had pizza parcels with a lovely dip and my daughter had calamari both were very good. I had carbonara and my daughter had a salad both delicious. The staff did a good job and would go again

Second visit here... was fine but a couple of niggles.

Was looking for a good value meal whilst meeting up with friends . This fitted the bill and we were pleased. Good food albeit pricey but made more affordable with the voucher for 40% off. Service a bit slow.
