I took my grandson to Pizza Express in Raleigh during the half term holiday. I was pleasantly surprised at the welcoming ambiance. The restaurant was clean, the food lovely and the staff polite with a friendly attitude to customers.

Had a lovely afternoon treat with my daughter , great atmosphere , relaxed & friendly service . Waiting staff were very attentive & didn't have to wait long for service We will be back ! 😌

Visited on a Monday afternoon. Served quickly, yummy food. Our table was rocky and was worried about spilling our drinks but that was only a minor thing, didn't complain. Our waitress was fab, super attentive, enthusiastic and bubbly, left a great impression and made our meal even better 😊

Opening time was 12pm not 11:30am which is on their Google page.

Came in for dinner last night we didn’t book but it wasn’t a problem, the pizza was delicious and our waitress Julie made our evening with her funny jokes we will definitely be back

Big thanks to Julie who spotted my pizza was caught on the bottom and immediately sorted a replacement - I hadn’t noticed it yet! I really appreciated her attention to detail and service. She took time to listen to my children’s orders and obviously took pride that her customers had a good meal out!

Our order was listed as ready at 1940. At first they couldn’t find our order, but when they did we were told it will be another few minutes. We eventually got our order at 2012. Then when we started eating everything was stone cold.

Food delivered quickly but the pasta portions were tiny considering the cost. Not worth the cost.

I accidentally put the wrong delivery address and was unable to change it and unable to cancel and reorder (without paying the full price anyway). I was also unable to contact the restaurant to change the details and had to travel to the resteraunt.

Service always lets this place down. Walked in and walked back out last week, staff hanging about chatting but happy to let us wait for a table in an empty restaurant. Food amicable at best so this is area needs major improvement to warrant a visit.

Freezing cold and stunk of fish never had a problem before and the was a cheap takeaway extremely disappointing

My pasta dish was amazing and it was nice and quiet when me and my girlfriend went on a little date after a good say out.

Toppings were sparse and some were missing food delivered 45 mins late. Driver said restaurant was not busy just staff were being lazy. Driver said he was waiting at the restaurant 30 mins for them to prepare the order.

SHOCKING. Waited 2 hours 15 minutes for food to arrive. Missing items. Rock hard pizza. Completely sodden bruschetta. None of it editable. AWFUL.

For the size.. not worth it. dough balls was somehow ice cold. the cheesecake (for the price) is tiny.. just go Pizza GoGo down the road. Cheaper, Bigger, Better. Heard great things about pizza express but VERY let down.

Order placed at 18.34 with pick up from the restaurant at 18.54. It was delivered at 19.50, with the dip missing and a squashed pizza. Will not use service again

Just eaten lunch here. Really excellent service, lovely ambience and experience. Clean and modern restaurant. My friend and I sat in a comfortable booth. I had vegetable antipasti which was a huge dish (meant to be shared but I scoffed the lot) with a whole mozarella cheese, artichoke tomatoes, cherry peppers, rocket salad, several triangles of pizza base dough, with a pot of humous and another small dish of balsamic and olive Absolutely, delicious and really good value would definitely recommend. We had a 25% voucher off the whole meal but still really good value even without the voucher at £14.25.

The wrong order was delivered. I handed it back and was promised it would be corrected but it never arrived. My money was not refunded.

the Pizza was shockingly bad, semi cold. poor to look at, hardley any toppings considering we paid extra for goats cheese. size was definitely not 13inces. if that was a large then you need to make sure it is that size when it turns up. £39 we paid for 2No pizzas with no accumpliments and what turned up was a joke.. will not be ordering or going to Pizza express any time soon or I'm my lifetime. POOR..

Fairly impolite service on arrival. Left us quite surprised ! Food was average and not as good as the other Pizza Express's I've been to in recent times. All in all a bit of a disappoint and I won't be coming back to this particular branch/Francise again alas....

Took over two hours to get delivered and I couldn’t get through to the restaurant to confirm what was happening

We had a great time at this Pizza Express for my son’s birthday, and got wonderful service. My wife, had booked a table for 7, but unfortunately booked it for the day beforehand!! 🤯 However, the super kind member of staff triple checked the bookings and moved a few tables around and did her best to accommodate us. We fitted in and subsequently had a lovely birthday celebration meal. Thanks for being so helpful. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Ordered at half 6, ETA 7.15 latest. I tried call the restaurant 14 times with no answer around the 8pm mark, which is ridiculous in itself. Couldn’t cancel on just eat because the food ‘had been prepped’, finally arrived at 8.20. No driver available but food ready? Left a voicemail at the restaurant to arrange a refund but no response yet. So disappointing, had I known delivery was 2 hours and cold, I would never have ordered.

Worst takeaway ever pizza was horrible and ordered two meals and dessert on 40% of offer (sunday) only got a pizza can't get hold of restaurant as usual so cost me loads for a pizza I didn't eat.

Even 1 star is being generous! We booked a table here for 1345 (a little late for lunch but that's all that was available). We arrived and weren't seen to until I asked the guy who walked past us several times and ignored us. He showed us to our table and it was another 15 minutes at least before drink orders were taken. We hadn't quite decided on food (we had two children so by the time the children's menus came it was a further delay) so agreed that the waitor would come back in 5 minutes. Another 15 minutes and we were still waiting. I got up to look for him and he'd vanished. When he returned there was no offer of apology. We ordered our food and waited a long time. The boys' starters came and we asked for our mains to come out with theirs as it took so long. They didn't so as a result the children were hungry and struggled to wait for their mains. I wouldn't have minded but the restaurant wasn't that busy. Thankfully the food was delicious. We were left for quite some time. In the end I found the one and only waitress and asked for dessert menus. She gave them to us but never cleared our plated away. We took it on ourselves to put them on the table next to us, which had remained uncleared throughout our stay. Dessert arrived but for some reason two of my sundaes had been put through. Rather than offering it to us free of charge due to the harrowing service received the waitress took it away and said I'll make sure you don't get charge for it! When we finally got the bill she explained that she couldn't get anyone to work!? Unsure if she means as in short staffed or working whilst in there. Regardless this is unprofessional and if you are that short staffed should you be open?

Booked table for 5pm which is when we arrived. Greeted quickly and sat down. Orders taken within 10 minutes, we only ordered mains. Then waited an hour for food which is ridiculous as restaurant was half empty. No apology, waiter was deliberately avoiding eye contact! When food finally came, 3 meals were good but one was wrong and luke warm. Given we'd waited so long we weren't prepared to have it redone otherwise we'd have been there all night. No offer to discount bill, no real apology. Then took ages to get bill and pay, it's as if they don't want your money! Felt sorry for the young waitress who seemed really good and was dealing with numerous complaints and mistakes from other tables as the more senior male waiter was shirking doing any real work! Not sure we will return sadly

Due at 18:50, arrived 19:50. Delivery driver took an absolute age, spent forever in one location before actually heading to my address, had to meet at his car to collect my food which was stone cold. Seriously unimpressed

The taste of the pizzas are great but they were cold. This is the second time it has happened so whilst we love the pizzas themselves, we must be too far away or the driver is given too many pizzas to deliver so won’t be ordering for delivery again

I made the mistake of ordering from here on New Year’s Eve, this was hands down the worst takeaway I have ever had. We ordered using JustEat, only 2 pizzas and a Calamari. The delivery time moved forward every 10 minutes until it was over 2 hours late, when the food arrived there was only 2 pizzas passed to me individually - no bag to store the pizzas keeping them hot. These pizzas looked like they had been sat there for a very long time and were completely stone cold to touch! They looked awful - I will attach the pictures. Just to add the calamari had been missed off and when we called up a lot of times there was no answer. Do not make the mistake of ordering from here!

I know it’s New Year’s Eve and busy but why advertise that it’s 30-45 min wait for delivery when that’s no where near the expected wait time! Food was also cold. Service in restaurant was bad in Jan so I should have learnt my lesson!

Delivery was 5 hours late ... yes 5 hours!! Food was inedible. Just eat think that an £8.62 'goodwill' refund is acceptable. Fuming!!!!!

Took 2hr 20 to arrive. Just eat app saying driver was there for 90 mins, restaurant informed me food waiting there for the whole 90 mins as no driver. Can’t reach just eat and no refund option. Inedible food and the WORST app for non existent customer service

Always late due to restaurant. They don’t answer the phone. Cannot cook to a time and always make dinner later than it should be. Preparing three pizza’s does not take 90+mins

Don’t bother ordering on Deliveroo. Over two hours later and liaising via the delivery driver as no one picks up the phone there to be told they have run out of dough so can’t fulfill your order. Only have one chef in and customers in the restaurant take priority. Apparently they can’t switch off ordering as the manager isn’t in. Hollow apology offered and nothing else.. now sat here at 9:20pm with no dinner!

Don’t bother wasting your time here. What sort of pizza place runs out of dough by 7:30/8pm? Pizza express Rayleigh does! Only has one chef on for a Friday night and no manager so will have tonnes of unfulfilled deliveroo orders as they don’t switch it off and let drivers turn up to then say they can take it with a few token items. Apparently customers in the restaurant take priority over those online. Make no gestures of goodwill for their poor organisation and service. Thanks for leaving us with no dinner after we had to chase to find out what was happening at 9:30pm for an order placed at 6:45pm!!

Arrived stone cold and had my delivery moved 10x

I had a call from the restaurant to say my option was not available. I was offered an alternative of “anything you like” so ordered a bolognese instead. What arrived was not bolognese. It was a botched together alternative of penne, tomato sauce that was very spicy and a scattering of mince. Clearly a combination of left overs mixed up to create one dish. If you are have allergies or intolerances this is highly dangerous practice. Sloppy and unprofessional service!

Been a while since coming to a pizza express. Wow, have the pizzas got smaller? The lack of toppings was incredible, wish I took a picture of it now. The profit margin must be Incredible on my £15.95 pizza. Walked out still hungry, never again. Plus delivery riders constantly standing next to where we were eating was off putting too.

Came on a quite day. Still very slow service. No one on the front desk. Long wait!

Sadly the food was very poor and bland, a Caesar salad looked as unappetising as it tasted, a Romana Pizza bases black, very burnt with almost no toppings. The table service was ok but the two chefs looked as if they could hardly be bothered and completely uninterested in the food they were preparing. Very disappointing, should have complained but just wanted to leave.

Service slow, waited 20mins for starter, starter plates not cleared, then waited 25mins for main course considering the place only had about 6 tables to serve, no excuses. Pizza warm, not full of toppings, half with peppers smudge of BBQ sauce centre of Pizza. Deserts another 20min wait. Overall worst Pizza Express I have been too.

Delivery time wasn’t issue. It was the fact the only thing that came vaguely hot, were the side of wings. The crispy potato’s were soft and some not cooked properly or had cooled down to the state of hard untastful potato we all know. The pizza, the main part was a medium at another takeaway but cold! As a takeaway it would help if the pizza was cut so you don’t have to do it yourself. What a shame

Not good, silver rewards says you get free dough balls, not the case! Pizza was terrible, the manageress was very rude. Only 4 people in the restaurant. Never again Pizza Express.

Slow service, they appeared very understaffed - I felt sorry for those rushed off their feet. It’s was 6pm on a Sunday!! Neither the starters or mains came out together so having to wait around. Quality of the food average, pizzas are like cardboard, edges burnt and cutlery not sharp enough to cut. Expensive and totally flat atmosphere. We won’t be rushing back anytime soon, shame as we used to enjoy Pizza Express.

My first visit to this particular branch. It's in a lovely old building, very quaint. I was advised they were short-staffed and it was busy, but they worked hard to look after us and the food was just as you'd expect.

Worst pizza express ever please don’t bother. The head office should step in and sort out the lack of cleaniness, appalling service and less than mediocre food. Manager has zero interest they got rid of the manager just before a few months ago and he actually was trying! Won’t be back ever again! If you like cold food, warm drinks and stressed waiting staff who take over 30 mins to serve and re serve you each time go ahead!

Honestly stay clear, NEVER any ice, always out of Gin and never actually bother to run across the street to local Tesco to get some. Beer is either in stock and cold or warm. Manager, needs a course on how to manage, never comes to customers when asked to speak to him. Seats are absolutely filthy, I could make a sandwich from the crap at the back of them. Ice machine has been broke for over two months , tables dirty. Complained on a few occasions needless to say worst Pizza Express I've ever had the mispleasure to eat at. Senior Management or owner needs to step in, not how a business should be operated. Oh, the food you ask. All teenagers cooking it and often burnt or not cooked. Not a happy bunny and rather spend my money elsewhere.

First the pizza was cold, then it was the world's thinnest pizza, about 1mm thick. more of a Tortilla than a pizza. The Manager wasn't interested

Took a chance and popped in for a table for two. Only to be told there are no tables available as the restaurant was full. But looking around most of the restaurant was empty? The waitress was very helpful just told us that and walked off. Then my wife visited tonight for a meal with friends. Luckily they had booked as one of the empty tables was available. But when ordering they were told most of the menu was not available and the coffee machine was broken. Go to Prezzo or domino’s.

The courier went above & beyond delivering the meal as she was given the wrong location for my address, she was very helpful & friendly!
