The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Italian food

Went for lunch, 2 couples, booked in advance. On arrival, it almost seemed as though we were imposing on the staff as it seemed too much trouble to show us to our table. Menus were just thrown down onto the table and we had to wait ages before being able to order some drinks. I couldn't order my chosen wine because "No, we don't sell that anymore - the wine list is out of date so you'll have to have the Soave" Unbelievable!!! The side salads were a joke - just pieces of limp lettuce with some onion and a bit of tasteless tomato. The pasta dishes were totally bland, in particular the PENNE FRUTTI DE MARE, which had a watery tomato sauce with very small pieces of seafood (no clams in sight!) and totally lacking in flavour. The waiters were extremely brisk and almost rude, especially when we declined any desserts. There's no way we could recommend this restaurant and will certainly not be going again. This is definitely NOT Italian cuisine!!!

I have been coming to this Restaurant for years with my family. The food and service has always been good but recently I have noticed a decline in both the food quality and the service. My family took me here for a Mother’s Day treat this time. The restaurant was packed full and service was very slow and poor. The food was mediocre and sadly we had a very ill mannered older gentleman to serve us who even expected us to pass him all the plates at the end of our course instead of clearing it himself. We were so disappointed we did not even stayed for desserts and went somewhere else instead. The younger gentleman from Portugal always polite and friendly and so also is Pedro and a lovely lady waitress. I realise Mother’s Day tends to be busy but the is no excuse for sloppy service and rudeness.

Its not closed, its just changed its name to Ristorante Amalfi. We were invited by friends. It has a wide menu and food was OK. Soup starter was actually good but main course still very average and would not return.

No the same brilliant experience as the Galleria. Food OK but just a now normal wine bar with food. And no real atmosphere.

No habíamos reservado y estaban llenos para reventar, pero nos encajaron en la condición de que necesitaban mesa de vuelta en una hora y 15 minutos. A pesar de eso no nos sentimos apresurados. Me alegro de ir a un restaurante italiano que no hizo lasaña o carbonara (no es que hay nada malo con eso! ). Le saqué 1 punto simplemente porque el 80 % del menú limitado tenía hongos y a mi marido no le gustan en absoluto. Dicho esto, nuestra camarera cuyo nombre no recibí, pero tenía el pelo maravillosamente teñido, nos dio un gran consejo y terminó comiendo un tortellini en caldo plato que normalmente no habría pedido, y realmente disfrutó. Mi tagliatelle con setas silvestres estaba delicioso. Iría de nuevo, pero voy a reservar!

My niece and her partner are over from Ireland and wanted somewhere to go for a treat and I suggested here as we live not far from the restaurant but they were sadly very disappointed. The calamari was tough, the prawns were very bland, one of the mains was mainly left as it was that bad and the other main was left as the pasta was undercooked. I asked why on earth they didn't complain but they said they didn't dare, they are a young couple who said they would have felt uncomfortable saying something. That's a £100 of their money wasted and I feel bad for suggesting they go there so I will be giving them the money back to them myself in the morning. Wished I'd read some of the reviews first. Certainly won't be going myself.

Nuestra experiencia en Glasshouse fue muy pobre y risible. Nos sentamos y nos dieron dos menús de vinos. Una vez que habíamos elegido pedimos un menú de comida. Luego nos dieron de nuevo menús de vinos y finalmente el menú de comida. Nos dijeron sobre dos especiales del día. Cuando se trataba de pedir la comida, una señora diferente vino a tomar el pedido y no sabía que los especiales estaban en. Por alguna extraña razón dos damas diferentes seguían viniendo a nuestra mesa y era un caso de ninguna sabía lo que estaba pasando. ¡Tanto que de repente nos dieron el menú de postres! Declaramos que aún no habíamos tenido nuestro plato principal, así que por favor, acérquense. Cinco minutos después, la señora volvió y nos preguntó si habíamos elegido nuestros postres. De nuevo le dijimos que todavía estábamos esperando nuestros platos principales. Cuando los platos principales finalmente llegaron no eran muy buenos, tal vez se habían quedado atrapados en un calentador para mantener la calma y se olvidaron, Mi esposa tuvo una oportunidad de comer su Carbonara, pero estaba muy seco, mi Linguini estaba bien, pero pensé que una salsa de vino blanco no iba a ser lo que parecía una salsa a base de tomate. Realmente creo que deberíamos haber enviado ambos cursos de vuelta. Cuando pedimos el postre vino a nuestra mesa otra señora que creo que ha sido gestora y estaba al tanto de lo que habíamos dicho de la Carbonara. Nos dieron un desierto gratis, ya que yo era el único que deseaba tener uno. Los entrantes estaban bien y el postre, pero la red eran muy pobres y el servicio muy lento. Pagué la factura (tal vez debería haber deducido el servicio). Ciertamente no volveremos a Glasshouse.

Stopped here whilst on a boat down the Norfolk broads. Nice little place, although service was very slow and the place was empty. I had the breakfast and I have to say the sausages and toast in particular were lovely. My partner had the burger and halloumi fries which he enjoyed.

Very busy period yet the staff were attentive despite being busy. The pizzas are tasty and varied. Value for money and highly recommended.

We have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. This time the service and meals were fine. But I only give 3 stars because the place was extraordinarily noisy. Loud chatter from other diners is to be expected, but adding overly loud music made it impossible to have a normal conversation, so we ate quietly and left without desert.

I stop in luton for meeting and decide to have quickly lunch , was bad experience i order pizza with spicy w salami was rubber very disappointing the test was horrible after I eating I left and less the one hour was vomiting

This is our favorite Italian restaurant in London. Food is always perfectly cooked. Lucio and his sons warmly welcome you. You can always count on a great meal and the lunch is the best value in town

The garlic bread was ok. The two mains were inedible and not eaten. We think the cream used on the risotto and carbonara was off. Absolutely tasteless and minging. Probably the worst meal we have had in a restaurant. Not a good way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Seriously wish we had gone elsewhere!!! Never again.

Been many times here think it's a little overpriced but good portion size however today we both had the steak and mushroom pie which i must say is a favourite of ours but not today the steak was really tough couldn't eat it a wee bit of mushroom in it but a lot of celery (yuk) and carrots in the pie very disappointed left more than we ate. Sorry but £26 for 2 meals and a drink and left most of it. Did not have time to come and complain as my husband had a hospital appointment. We will be back sorry to complain.
