Bella Italia ya es un conocido que debes comer donde quiera que vayas. Pero este tiene el personal más amable y agradecido de todos los tiempos, particularmente Natalia, es muy amable, atenta y elegante. Vine aquí para cenar antes del cine. Estábamos sentados con la estación de personal justo detrás de nosotros, ¿no estamos seguros de cómo es seguro Covid? El personal no tenía máscaras puestas (me doy cuenta de que tampoco las tienen) pero estaban justo detrás de nosotros. Comí pizza de queso de cabra y no creo que tuviera queso de cabra. nadie nos revisó, así que seguí comiendo con la esperanza de que estuviera mezclado con la mozzarella, pero ¿realmente no creo que lo fuera? el menú parecía más limitado de lo que recordaba también

Arrived at 6pm Saturday was hurried to table and waited till 6:10 before anyone came and took order we were ready for food order too and all looked promising.6:20 came and went —nothing 6:30 came and went —nothing6:40 came and drinks arrived one was correct the other was wrong.6:45 came and went asked how long food would be .We ordered simple pasta dish I thought-meat balls and pasta and a flat bread to have with meal.They said it’s coming.6:50 bread arrived which we asked to have with meal 6:55, 7:00 came and went whilst being told food was coming .7:10 came and went and so did we.Thing is a few other tables did the same as they too had waited over and hour.Surely just have less tables to serve or more staff it isn’t rocket science.

The food itself was, as usual, nice but the service was dreadful. If I could rate it negative stars I would. Waited about 10 mins to be acknowledged/seated. (Only one other table occupied at the time so it wasn’t because they were busy!) once seated, watched the member of staff on their personal phone texting for another 5 mins before we were offered a drink. All the while another person (eating with mouth open, unkempt and scruffy) sat stuffing their face apparently oblivious to the lack of service...later turns out to be a colleague or possibly the manager?Once drink arrived we waited about 15 mins before our food order was taken. Seriously WTAF? Food order finally taken after being in there for half an hour...no joke. Cue more frantic texting on personal phone while other customers come in and wait to be served. Meanwhile, a cook can be seen in kitchen lifting their top up and scratching their gut. At least there was entertainment while we waited. Food was placed on counter for service but apparently, sending personal text messages is more important than serving the paying customer. Food order was wrong, this was probably the highlight of our time in the restaurant ‘cause the member of staff walked in to the kitchen, still in sight and earshot to call out ‘for f**k sake’ (scratches head) and demands the correct order. Brilliant. Couldn’t make it up. Am far too polite to complain so have taken to trip advisor to just warn others.Previous trip here was faultless but will not be coming back based on this experience.

Visité el sábado 7 de marzo a primera hora de la noche antes de dirigirme a un concierto en los Pavilions, reservé una mesa para las 6 de la tarde, dándonos hora y media para comer, y no somos chicas de primer plato y postre, así que debería haber sido suficiente tiempo. Bastante rápido en tomar nuestro pedido, pero a partir de ahí fue una espiral descendente: 25 minutos para obtener 2 coca cola, 42 minutos para un poco de pan de ajo frío, momento en el que le mencioné a la camarera que ahora teníamos poco tiempo, así que no esperar para que terminemos el pan de ajo. Ella se disculpó y dijo que estaban corriendo detrás y que harían lo que pudiera, ella regresó y dijo que sería una orden urgente. Mi pedido parecía ser el catalizador alrededor de nuestra mesa ya que algunas personas más comenzaron a quejarse de que estaban yendo a los espectáculos y la mesa detrás de nosotros simplemente se fue. Justo antes de una hora, conseguimos pizza fría y un Pollo a la Crema muy seco. Mi amiga bromeó que tenía sus propios dientes y todavía no podía comer mucho. Nadie verificó que estuviéramos bien, ya que mi amigo se habría quejado en ese momento y nunca volvimos a ver a nuestra camarera, ni siquiera se ofreció un menú de postres y tuvimos que pedirle a un joven que trajera la factura. Entiendo que a las 6 de la tarde está ocupado un sábado por la noche cerca de dos lugares de espectáculos, pero no es una sorpresa, si no puedes hacer frente, entonces reserva menos mesas, todos se quejaron. La ironía de todo esto fue que recibí un cupón de 30 de una experiencia igualmente mala en una sucursal de Southampton el mes pasado para mi 90 cumpleaños de los papás. Anoche fue mi última visita a BI en el futuro previsible.

Reservamos para las 18:00. Las bebidas no llegaron hasta las 18:30 después de la indicación. A las 19:10 hablamos con ellos y nos dijeron que nuestro boleto de comida se había perdido. Cuando íbamos al teatro real para el comienzo de las 19:30, salimos con hambre y no contentos. Solo consuelo, no nos cobraron por nuestras bebidas. Nunca volveremos.

We came here for lunch as a belated birthday meal , it was very busy and very understaffed , the gent who looked like the manager did what he could and was rushing around never really saw anyone else and had to go to the bar in the end to pay as didnt see anyone for ages ! Was there at one and didn’t get out till way after 3 , we only had main course and dessert , bit disappointing, tried a new pasta out but bland and my mum couldn’t even cut through the chicken , after my partner paid £200 for our meals I feel bit let down as it wasn’t great , sorry but will be trying somewhere else next time

Mi hija y yo almorzamos en el restaurante, la comida estaba bien, pero tengo que decir que el servicio me decepcionó por completo. En general, encontré este regalo para mi hija y para mí una experiencia bastante estresante. El personal de espera estaba tan ocupado que nos sentimos completamente ignorados, al estar sentados les tomó 50 minutos a nuestros entrantes venir, pude ver nuestros entrantes en el plato caliente durante más de 15 minutos, lo que resultó en un poco de calor una vez que lo recibimos. Pero nuestra noche y mi cumpleaños no mejoraron con nuestra comida de esta noche.Esta no es la primera vez que cenamos en esta Bella Italia en particular antes de ir a ver una obra de teatro en el cercano Teatro Royal, pero sin duda es la última vez.Con una mesa reservada para las 6 de la tarde, llegamos a las 5. 55 y finalmente nos sirvieron nuestro plato principal a las 7 pm.Habíamos dado nuestra orden tan pronto como apareció el camarero. Así que no esperaba tener mucho retraso. ¿Cuánto tiempo puede tomar hervir un poco de pasta y freír una hamburguesa de frijoles?Ni siquiera teníamos un entrante. Solo las aceitunas y el pan "mientras esperas". ¡El pan llegó en algún momento después de las aceitunas! Good tasting, good value, homely food. The mind your grandma would make. The restaurant feels old, I think it's meant that way, and has a sort of Tuscany feel to it. I love it. Staff - very helpful and friendly. Worth your time and money to visit

Firstly I would like to say I hate leaving bad reviews but unfortunately I feel it's unfair for anyone else's evening to be ruined like ours!We arrived and were greeted with friendly smile and menu's and taken to our table...We then waited 25mins and still had not seen a waiter/waitress to be able to even order drinks, I thought we had just been missed so asked if we could order as we were due to see a show at the Theatre Royal in a hour and a half.We ordered, waited another 10mins for our drinks and an hour in total before our starters arrived...cold! By now we were getting fed up and could see we were not the only table affected by the long waits. We were assured our mains would arrive soon with another attempt at the starter,which for a second time it was cold (very cold, like frozen) in the centre so uneatable. The mains came and were OK but still not hot enough and really nothing special.The staff were as helpful as they could be in the situation... obviously understaffed and not backed up by simple cooking skills in the kitchen!We have been to this restaurant previously a while ago now but found the food lovely and always had great service. This was a Xmas present for my parents and I can honestly say it totally ruined our evening.The manager kindly offered to take the drinks off the menu but to be honest if I had not had already pre-paid I would have left before the mains even arrived, I will not make that mistake again!

Tenían un problema con el congelador, pero sabiendo que entraban personas, deberían haber venido de otra parte. Visited for a late lunch, very quiet, but prompt service and delivery of delicious food, even fuss ass mother loved it - Tastecard valid too.

I use the Bella Italia on a regular basis. The standard of the food is consistently excellent. It's fair to say that I've never had a single meal over the years that I haven't enjoyed thoroughly. However, it's always sad to see the number of staff who maintain expressions which suggest that they'd rather be somewhere else. Questions and enquiries are often met with dour looks and curt monosyllabic replies. It rather takes the edge off the dining experience which is a great shame. A smile and a friendly word would improve things no end.

Not been here for years and used to like it. Today the service was very slow. Well For us. Two tables after us were served first. Had to wait 15 mins just to be asked what drinks we wanted. We ordered food , two pasta dishes. They came quickly but both were a bit bland. All in all the place was very expensive for the quality of the food. Large glass of wine £8 but I would have called the glass size small. Don’t think we will go back. Shame.

Really good first time visit. Great food and service from a friendly team. Really attentive staff, who made us welcome, and were great with our children 6 & 4. Thank you.

We have been going to this Bella's for many years and have had many celebration meals encluding our 50th wedding anniversary. This time we were eating before going to the pantomime two days before Christmas. My husband had Marco Polo and I had Ola alla crema, we started with sourbread with caramelised onion, the sourbread would of been fine if they remembered to put more than a teaspoon of caramelised onion on. My husband main meal was suppose to be plum sauce but this was not to be and we also think the duck was replaced with chicken. My meal was half the size than normal and so dry I had a job to get it of of the trivet. This Bella's has gone downhill in the last six months when they should be upping there game with all there new restaurants opening in Plymouth this coming year of 2020 celebrations

Went around 3 to have an Italian.was seated near the window...was very cold..ask if we could move .no problem was moved straight away . Starter King Prawns in Garlic. Tomatoes and mozzarella with salad both very tasty..main Calzone spicy..Chicken with potatoes creamy sauce and ordered extra Green beans..wine Melbec and larger..dessert was italian eaten mess. The ricotta bread and butter pudding is to die for it is out of this world seriously I have never ever had one so tasty...staff were all friendly and professional not cheap but well worth the price..we will definitely be back on our next visit to Plymouth...

Lovely food and amazing service! Chloe was a very chatty friendly and attentive server, it was a busy Tuesday as there was a performance on at the theatre and we visited later. Felt like we were her most important customers exactly how fantastic service should be! We will be back

The service from start to finish was exquisite! The food was really beautiful. We had a main, side and pudding with soft drinks and coffee. It was all really lovely. Would highly recommend.

Last minute booking for a child’s birthday treat. Staff attentive and helpful and even sang happy birthday to our daughter when brought desert (with candle lit). Staff managed to fit us in at late notice. We were served very quickly and food was lovely. Thank you!

Visited today ( sat lunchtime) after rush. It was fairly quiet for there but we waited 40 mins for 2 pizzas and a burger! 2 meals came out first but my pizza hadnt been cooked at that point. The 2 meals that came out were cold and when my well cooked pizza arrived it was raw! The manager and waiter were apologetic but by that point we were all starving!!

Squeezed in on a very busy Saturday night with about 15 minutes notice. The restaurant was full, and we were on a short time frame, however our food was served in the space of an hour, which included a starter and main courses. Friendly staff who gave enough time in service considering the busyness of the restaurant.

Bella Italia is only a 5min walk to the pavilions in Plymouth so makes it very handy,we booked a table for 12 noon as it was raining we arrived around 11.40 we had no problem and was seated,when we at down we were asked if we wanted to order drink,as we knew what we wanted we ordered food at the same time we didnt have to wait that long for food,around 15 mins, I ordered the beef burger changed the chips to sweet potato,when it came the food was hot and very tasty,we were then asked if we wanted to see the puddings but had no room,we had a 2 4 1 voucher,the only day they don't take vouchers are Saturdays,when we left we were told to have a good afternoon,and hope to see u again,it's always the same standard,staff are friendly,I would always say book a table just in case,

On a wet blustery day we had a wait to be shown to our seats, even though it wasn’t busy, but there appeared to be only one young lady serving etc. The food came quite quickly and the pizza was quite good, but the Carbonara was so dry! I was told that it was because it was fresh pasta and that absorbed the sauce! Anyway I had a small pot of extra sauce supplied....I didn’t like to then complain that the pasta was only luke warm, especially as the additional sauce helped warm it up !! Later I did see another lady send her pasta back as it was cold, so perhaps I should have done! There were two tiny strips of streaky bacon on top of the carbonara....it would have really added to the flavour if they had been a little more generous. The place needs some TLC, especially with new restaurants opening soon at the other end of town. Seat coverings were torn, and the toilets needed a spruce up....toilet rolls just dumped on top of the bins instead of their containers and only one hand drier working.

Been there couple of days ago for a dinner. Lovely food and great service of Diana! Will definitely come back more often.

Eaten here before when going the Theatre Royal always well priced and good pasta service can be a little slow but not that bad

Attending concert at Plymouth pavilions and had reservations at Pizza Express but their ovens had broke down.

Had an amazing meal with friends for my birthday, our waitress Diana was very pleasant. Great good and drink.

Was looking forward to this outing with my friends celebrating my birthday however we were disappointed. From the minute we arrived we were sat waiting for a long time without being acknowledged despite trying to get the attention of the servers just for some water. When we did get our tea the majority of the cups were not polished and had evident marks on. When the afternoon tea arrived we were pleased as it all looked appealing (however the second one took quite long to arrive) my friend bit into her scone and immediately could tell the cream was off we told the server who took it to the kitchen and then returned with a new pot explaining that it was gone off the difference between the two creams was so evident, we explained how this ruined the experience for us and put us off a little bit so although we were given a reduction of one of the teas it was in a very reluctant manner, being told that "this discount was actually too much in her opinion" we felt this was an unnecessary comment to make considering the discount was already applied. Had the cream incident been dealt with in a more friendly manner we wouldn't have minded as much.

I recently won a 3 course meal for 2 to try the new menu. The food was delicious and it was nice to try something new and different. The service was fantastic. Daniel who waited our table was very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

We came here as 2 couples at the beginning on the month. We hadn't booked a table and finding one for 4 of us was not a problem. As soon as we had all arrived our waiter, Martin came and took our drinks and food order. However the menu has such a wide range of choices it took a while to choose... He had to keep coming back to see if we were ready which was no problem at all. After ordering, food was delivered to the table quickly and was really good. The price was very decent for the type of menu too, which is a bonus for us. Thank you Bella Italia.

The best but by far was our server Daniel and the cocktails - did it help they were half price - hell teah but even so they was lovely ❤️❤️❤️ The rest was a bit blahhhhh - menus to small to read in limited lighting - I hate the paper tablemats !!! We are already in the restaurant why do we need to flogged the food. Our stater was served with a bowl and dip straight on to THE mats no plate no nothing. Main was ok but nothing special and the pudding was manufactured, didn’t look appetising. In all honesty food was a Wetherspoons level with a MUCH higher price tag. I will finish by saying all our food was free for trying it - Bella Italia please try and make it less spoonish

I was lucky enough to win a three course meal for two at Bella Italian, Derrys Cross Plymouth. The evening was to try food from the new menu. I've got to say we weren't disappointed the chicken arachini starter was amazing as was the main course of tagliatelle capra. The desserts were lush too. Daniel our waiter was so good,attentive and very helpful. So thank you Daniel!

Lunch for three - all with differing choices - resulted in three clean plates - service is low key but efficient.Seafood popular being close to the sea.

Good food and good portions but one particular staff member was very rude to me and my friend as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. She wouldn’t stop giving us bad looks and spoke to us with an attitude. She didn’t have a name badge to get her name unfortunately and she basically threw the menus at us and walked away. Apart from her all staff where lovely.

We were taken to this restaurant by some friends who spoke very highy of this place so we had to go along. Located next to an entertainment centre and in a block of other chain restaurants this was Italian food on an industrial scale, very busy and noisey. Food was average and so was the service, with a mid range price. Really not my sort of place at all.

The desserts are so good the waitress Diana was amazing she was so helpful and very friendly.Her knowledge about vegan food was impressive.

We had another fantastic meal this evening at Bella Italia, Derry’s Cross. We have been dining here for date nights and family meals for several years and have always had great food and drink and Excellent service. Thank you to Martin for fantastic service and looking after us so well this evening and look forward to seeing you again.

Visited this restaurant with my partner on bank holiday Monday at 7.30pm, restaurant was dirty, seating was limited to customers all being crammed into one area and all staff were miserable and very uninterested. Our olives arrived, dry, obviously from a jar and mass produced. Followed by a dry carbonara and lasagne quite clearly nuked from a microwave!!!! Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone it was awful and sadly used to be so great. Step your game up Bella Italia there is lots of competition out there ...... Prezzo anyone?

Este fue nuestro viaje de 1 calle a Bella Italia en nuestro viaje a ver un espectáculo más tarde. Fuimos a tomar el café de la mañana para comenzar nuestro día. Amy nos recibió y pedimos bebidas. Amy fue amable e hizo un gran chocolate caliente débil como lo solicité. Reservamos para el almuerzo y como tengo problemas de dieta limitada, Amy pudo satisfacer mis solicitudes y nos dio un excelente servicio. La comida era excelente y la relación calidad-precio y Amy no podría haber sido más útil como un activo real para la empresa. Gracias.

4 de nosotros reservamos para comer aquí antes de los fuegos artificiales. Todo fue un poco ridículo en realidad. Nos dijeron de inmediato que se habían quedado sin pollo, así que todos los platos de pollo estaban apagados. Es justo, así que pedimos otras cosas. Pedí pescado, y después de al menos 10 minutos me dijeron que se habían quedado sin eso. En ese momento pregunté qué tenían, así que nuestro servidor se apagó y luego regresó con un menú con un montón de cosas tachadas. Entonces ordené y esperamos por casi una hora para nuestra comida. Cuando llegó la mía, las papas nuevas habían sido sustituidas por papas fritas. ¡Pregunté esto y me dijeron que se habían quedado sin papas! Lo sacaron de la cuenta, pero después de esperar tanto tiempo por la comida, hubiéramos comido cualquier cosa.

Had booked a table to eat after a theatre matinee. The main courses were fine, but when we ordered pudding, we were really surprised to be told that they had run out of spray cream for the three sundaes we ordered. Whilst they they did offer extra ice cream, the puddings then arrived in what can only be described as a small drinking glass, not in a proper sundae dish. Pretty poor management to have run out of something by 5pm on a Saturday though.

We popped in here for an early tea as we had been in Plymouth city centre for the afternoon. We decided to take advantage of their 2 courses for £10 as we had a voucher printed out from their website.

Decent food and lovely staff but unfortunately the service was super slow on a Monday night when the restaurant wasn’t busy.

This was the perfect place to celebrate our friends birthday's the staff were very welcoming and and the food was lovely! thanks to everyone for putting up with our shinanagins. Shout out to sam Amy and Abbie we will be back!

Had a fabulous 4 course pre theatre meal. The olives were the best we’ve ever had in this country and having lived on the Mediterranean coast for many years we were used to having the best. Highly recommended.

My well done steak was excellent, The french fries weren't so good - some were hard and not hot enough. Mushrooms were cold. Gelato was okay - flavours good.

We ate here whilst staying overnight in Plymouth and noticed it is next door to the theatre so would be great for a pre theatre meal. I really liked the look of the place inside, high ceilings etc. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly towards our young daughter and we all really enjoyed our food. They came out to check whether our daughter wanted sauce on her pasta which was a nice touch as she does prefer it without so it was perfect for her. I particularly liked the hot drink and dolcetti you can have for a smaller pudding. Very tasty!

Lento, mal servicio. Al pollo le gusta el caucho cuando finalmente llegó. Pedimos un helado de Eton Mess para dulce solo para que me dijeran que no había crema (esta es la segunda vez que visitamos esta Bella Italia la primera vez que tampoco tenían los ingredientes para un helado). El restaurante está muy cansado. No visitaré este de nuevo.

The food was ok but no more than that. Nothing to complain about but I've had better pizza. Friendly staff.

I thought I'd booked this restaurant on a Friday night. Turns out there are two Bella Italia's in Plymouth and I'd booked the wrong one (something to be aware of!). However, the staff were accommodating and found us a table, telling us it was the last one. The great thing about Bella Italia is that they accept tastcard on a Friday night, meaning you get 2-4-1 across all courses. This is very unusual for a Friday!

Needed a quick and tasty supper before going to see Calendar Girls at Plymouth's Theatre Royal. We had enjoyed the Risotto Pescatore at Plymouth's other Bella Italia, so armed with our 40% off main courses, we both had it again. So delicious, cooked beautifully and just the right amount. Had a coffee with a little Brownie, and on a very hot night the staff were courteous, and helpful.

Visited on a Saturday evening, pre theatre. Fairly busy, but clearly understaffed. Waited 15 minutes to order drinks. Further delay before ordering food and then waited 35 minutes for our starter, which was followed immediately by our main course before the starter had been cleared. To add insult to injury food was over cooked and pasta was a mess. No condiments were offered (absolute disgrace in an Italian). People all around us were complaining about delays. Very poor.

Prior to seeing a show we had lunch at Bella Italia, in Derrys Cross.

Visited with my friend before going on a diet! Arrived at around 7pm and was seated immediately as the restaurant wax very quiet.

Absolutely disappointed that in a big city like Plymouth where the theatre Royal is right next door this establishment doesn’t serve food at 21:50 on a Saturday night. I am sure I’ve eaten there before after 10pm yet tonight refused . I’m unlikely to take my custom there again.

Booked a table for a meal prior to going to the theatre. Table booked for 5.30pm to give us plenty of time to eat without rushing .... how wrong we were!

Booked tonight weeks ago as had tickets for theatre and told the restaurant booking that we had to leave by 7:15 pm . Booked for 3 people for 6 pm . On a Rival was seated at our table are drinks order was taken after about five minutes are food order was taken drink arrived after we been seated for about 20 minutes . At 40 min began to get worried sill no starters . At this time it was 6.40 . Told the waitress she when to see what happens after about 5 minutes she came back and said I they thought we had our starters and was waiting to clear the table so our main would come out . told her we not had anything she could clearly see . We cancelled or status of asked if we can have our main right away we were told seven minutes and it would be ready . 20 minute later sill nothing at this time it was 7.10 pm we got up and walked out absolutely disgusted with the service of this restaurant . I personally have been at work all day did not have time to eat travel up from Cornwall and was looking forward to something to eat it Ruined my night . Up date I had a mc donnals at 10.37 pm and theatre

Good service, good food, good wine!. Staff generally very pleasant. Have visited branches in Cardiff, Blackpool too and always good.

We visited this restaurant prior to going to the Theatre.

Visited with family this week for an early evening meal. Was shown to our table straight away which was at the front of the building and was in a nice light area although noticed that the decor looked very tired and in need of a ‘freshen up’. Two of our group are vegetarians and we were given a separate vegetarian/ vegan menu which was great as normally we are searching for the (v) symbol normally tagged on the bottom ! Lots of choice and it was very tasty ! I ordered a ‘ duck’ substitute in a plum sauce which was delicious and very different. Dessert was also very nice and we found the staff very attentive. We have heard that the restaurant has a new manager and were regulars at her previous restaurant where she did a fantastic job and we always enjoyed our visits so really looking forward to the changes she brings to Bella... watch this space ! !

We arrived and managed to get a quite seat in a corner window but unfortunately we were not noticed by our waiter for some time so the service was slow. We ordered drinks and our food.

This restaurant is ideally situated on Derrys Cross roundabout, just 3 minutes walk from the front door of the Theatre Royal. Four of us visited yesterday for an early evening meal, and the food is excellent, and the staff pleasant and attentive. The new manager here is already making changes - for the better.

Four of us wanted to end our weekend in Plymouth with a nice meal, so booked Bella Italia. Right from our first experience being offered no help with a wheelchair, you knew what was coming. To.be honest I cannot be bothered to write about our awful food , service and the extortionate price . So perhaps the management might realise how we were treated. As for the hygiene of the staff serving and laying the tables. Non existent is how it's best discribed

Starters good, mains bad! Restaurant was almost empty but staff weren’t able to cope. Forgot drinks twice, table next to us gave up before desserts. Restaurant seemed fair from clean. Would not return

Dreadful dreadful dreadful! Food was dry disgusting and items missing on plates.The restaurant was filthy ando falling apart when problems were pointed out the staff did not seem surprised as if they have many complaints. Would never waste money here again AVOID!

The meal was lovely, amazing service.
