Lovely atmosphere and polite friendly staff. Portion sizes were very large so bargain from the lunchtime menu deal.

Food was ok but nothing special, what upset us the most is being charged £37 for a bottle of Aldi wine. Once pointed out it got rectified but still nobody likes being made a fool.

The pizza wasn’t a good one. If you are used to Italian pizza try the pasta. The pasta was delicious. It was very busy when we stayed there so we had to wait a long time. But the staff was very kind and friendly. Prices are good for the size of the food.

Walked in as a group of 4 after 8pm on a Monday evening, and we knew we were pushing it as kitchens would want to close, but they set us up at the table and immediately offered drinks. We didn't feel at all rushed to order and the food was not only really tasty, but the portions were extremely generous. The staff here were lovely all evening and will definitely be going again.

Had an amazing brunch here with the family. Staff were so friendly and were excellent with our grandsons "demands". Portions were excellent and cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend if you are ever in Plymouth.

Have to give a shout out to this place, it was so good. Staff were friendly, gave recommendations on dishes (glad I listened. He was right). Starters of meatballs and melanzine came out very quickly, probably microwaved but not a problem as they were both tasty. Mains: husband has pasta in a tomatoey based sauce, which he was dead happy with and I had the garlic chicken. Oh my, I love garlic and this was really pungent and absolutely incredible! Reasonably priced, good pinot, great spot. We will definitely return.

I last went there a year ago and the food and service was impeccable. I went there today with my son and we did not go off the set lunch but the main menu. He had prawn cocktail which looked as if 7 defrosted shrimps or prawns had been thrown on a plate with Marie Rose sauce chucked on top sprinkled with paprika. Presentation dreadful. I had Carpaccio which is my favourite starter of all time and although the presentation was improved, it was not seasoned properly and drowning in shaved Parmesan or hard Italian cheese alternative. The beef was tasteless and very chewy. My son then had Spaghetti Bolognaise and had a large portion where the spaghetti was mixed with the sauce but the sauce did seem very watery. I had a chicken Caesar salad which was totally underwhelming I had 5 tiny chunks of chicken and four lardons, on a plate full of slightly curling salad leaves which had been once again drowned in shavings of Parmesan. My son had apple juice and I had a glass of wine and soda. Neither of us had deserts. The meal totalled £56 and has got to be one of the most appalling meals I have ever had in Plymouth. The staff were ok so against my better judgement I did give a 10% tip because I always feel for waiting staff and wages, but again did not do anything that made them stand out. I will not eat here, and will next time eat in the Pasta and Pizza Bar in the Barbican or The Village to ensure a basic good service across all items on the menu. I am very sad having had a good experience previously, when people are struggling to make ends meet and paying hard earned money to go out for a treat meal it is very disappointing when the meal falls so far short of satisfactory.

I had high hopes for this Italian restaurant, given the strong recommendations, but my recent visit was disappointing. The waiting times were excessive, starting with a long delay between being seated and having our drinks order taken. There was another significant wait before our food order was finally taken, making the experience frustrating from the start. It was difficult to get the waitress's attention, contributing to the slow service. When the bruschetta starter finally arrived, it was poor and had to be sent back. The child's meals were overly large, overwhelming them, which seems like a waste. The chips were also over cooked. The spaghetti meals we ordered all tasted the same, clearly using the same sauce with different ingredients added, lacking the variety and authenticity expected from an Italian menu. Additionally, the drinks we received were not cold, seemingly not refrigerated. The carbonara, however, received positive feedback from those who had it, which was a slight redeeming factor. The standout aspect of our visit was our waitress, Ayla, who was attentive and smiley despite the overall service issues. It's a shame to see the standards of this restaurant appear to have dropped in recent months. While Ayla's excellent service was a bright spot, it wasn't enough to compensate for the overall disappointing experience.

I ate here with two companions. With 2 of us (me including) eating a carbonara and another eating a pizza. The carbonara was passable at best, clearly not using authentic pancetta and the sauce off by many margins. Furthermore, the pizza was clearly made with an odd combination of various cheeses and was compared to that of a school dinner. Overall, would not recommend and there are plenty of better options in the surrounding area.

Our Second time here! Can't speak highly enough about our experience! Five of us spent Thursday 18th here and all had amazing meals and service! We were lucky enough to be able to spend a short while chatting to the wonderful waitress Sandra , what a good hard working and lovely person, who made our experience complete! would we go again ? We all can't wait to return !

Firstly I'd like to say the food was genuinely amazing, great size portions and delicious. However, and this is a big however we visited on a Thursday evening around 7.30 so granted it's a busy time but this does not excuse the over an hour and fithteen minute wait for our starter to come out and then another 40 mins for the main - especially as we saw other customers come in with bigger table sizes and the same size come in to the restaurant after us and leave before us. This could have been easily fixed with a complimentary drink whilst we waited or a starter taken off the bill - however this review will have to do.

Not a single thing that wasn't great. Great food, very quick service, and all the staff were incredibly friendly! Food was delicious and a very short wait! I also had to ask if they'd forgotten something off the bill as it was alot less than expected. Genuinely very impressed and happy!

We have eaten here twice now and cannot fault the food, price, and service. The food is outstanding. This is now one of our favourite places to go. Highly recommend 👌

I do recommend Trattoria Capri for decent Italian food in Plymouth. The servings were well worth for its price. The variety of food from starters, mains and desserts are all good. We will be back for sure!

The food is delicious and so fresh. Will always eat here when I come to Plymouth. The Carne menu dishes are outstanding and very creditably priced!

Fish Food pasta very poor, bit into calamari and tasted gone off ,payed food without eaten it and said it was gone off shrivelled up dry seafood, very poor, never going there again,

The food was really nice , we had the lunchtime menu , which for lunchtime menu there was a lot to choose from The portion sizes were great It's definitely worth a visit. we have been a few times now , and the cost is really good too. 🥰

Always on the lookout for new restaurants in Plymouth, so was excited when this new Italian opened up. It’s as good as the menu looks, fresh, authentic Italian food. Plenty of choice, great service, will be back again soon!

Just a mess, Lovely food but was a Cold lasagna, warm chilled drinks, hair and piece of plastic in my not warmed fudge cake waiter said it was plastic from the fridge, a new desert made and was heated up and a tiny portion to the first desert that was replaced, Staff rushing about spilling drinks over the other table and knocked an empty glass on ours made a very anxious and expensive meal

Such a lovely evening, our food was so good. We'd had a long day travelling, the food and staff certainly lifted our mood. We had garlic mushrooms in a creamy sauce, penne turinese with chicken and my husband ordered sauteed potatoes (we hadn't eaten all day). Very generous portions that I couldn't finish and was offered a takeaway box, I didn't take them up on this, but I thought this was another lovely thought. Absolutely fantastic, will definitely return 😊

Unfortunately this isn’t an authentic Italian as we were served a frozen cooked pizza whilst our bill was nearly £150.00. I didn’t realise it wasnt authentic Italian or I would’ve gone back to Manuka bar or knead a pizza. Just wanted to give the heads up to everyone. I even spoke to the restaurant owner and he said the chef has a true Italian passion for food. Please dont waste your money- go to Manuka bar or knead a pizza/ Positano restaurant to get cheaper authentic Italian food. I can’t believe we paid £14.95 for a basic frozen margarita pizza. Don’t fall into the trap like I did. 😡

We found ourselves here on a wet Wednesday night....the restaurant next door was full so we went to Trattoria Capri. The service was great...the waiting staff were very attentive. The wine was very nice. The salad was OK. The pizza was absolutely awful...i have never had such a bad pizza in my life...I guess they let the dish washing guy have a go at making one... If you want a good pizza go somewhere else!

I enjoyed the lasagna which was tasty and hot. I could have eaten more! Tasty and pretty home value.

I was there with my family today and everything was absolutely perfect the service, the food was amazing and a very comfortable atmosphere nothing was too much trouble we will certainly be enjoying more meals there.

My partner mentioned the restaurant a month ago saying she wanted to try it. I booked it for our 6th year anniversary as a surprise and it was worth every penny! I booked a table at 20:00 for 2 and when we arrived it was busy which was a decent indication the food was good. And that indication couldn't have been more right! Service was excellent with 2 very friendly servers seeing to us constantly and the wait for food did not take long with us sharing a starter and then the 2 mains. We noticed a large group of about 15 on the other side of the restaurant and we were considerate and assumed it would be a while before our food came out but once again we were very pleasantly surprised; not only did we wait less than half hour from seating, the food was absolutely amazing and the portions were huge! And I mean it was no easy feat to finish the Bolognese but it was worth every fork full. I normally don't leave reviews but after seeing the notification pop up, I couldn't say no after their help in making it a fantastic night. I couldn't fault the pricing, service, food or any part of the evening for that matter. Truly would recommend to any family member or friend and we will be returning soon ourselves. Thank you to the staff and chefs on Friday, truly a great experience - 5 stars!

This is a very authentic, no nonsense Italian restaurant. The staff are incredibly charming and friendly. The three of us had arancini, spaghetti Bolognese, pasta gamberi and pasta with beef ribbons...all completely delicious and cooked to perfection. The portions are large and the food comes nice and quick! Highly recommend, will definitely return.

Lovely restaurant with a good selection of dishes. My friend and visited for lunch and took advantage of the two course deal. Portions are huge! I was thankfully able to take my leftovers home with me. Great value for money, would recommend 😊

We had a meal here today (10/03/23) and the food was delicious! Great service! We had to wait a little longer due to it being packed, but the food was so tasty it was worth the wait! Compliments to the chef.

The service was amazing, only two waiting and they were very busy the entire time my partner and I were there. We were mainly served by a girl who was lovely and smiley. It was slightly slow service but for all they were doing it was expected. The food was good and not over priced, would be happy to come back again! Only rated four stars because we came at a busy time and it's quite a small place to be packed. Customer service and food was 10/10 though!

Visited tonight for the first time & very impressed, we love Italian food but are very sceptical about it in the UK as it is never anywhere as good as it is in Italy but I would be tempted to say this is probably the best Italian food I have had in this country. It was very tasty, good sized portions, friendly service & reasonably priced, we will definitely visit again.

We 6 went for a get together here for the first time, not having been before. All was brilliant. Service, food, portion size, quality was great. The price was reasonable too. We will be back.

Very happy with the food, but disapointed after reading a great review on Plymouth Live promoting £13.50 two course lunch. Checked the menu on the website which claimed and promoted the £13.50 lunch with only steak having a supplement. Once seated the fixed price menu is now £14.50 not too bad. The kick in the teeth comes that all the nice stuff now has a £2 or £3 suplement making the real cost more like £20 ph. Just be honest and make sure your online menus are updated when you make substantial changes

Tempted in by some PR in Plymouth Live we booked for lunch.Nobody was there to greet us.Nobody was in the restaurant.The meal we wanted was £4 more expensive in the restaurant than on the website today.The music was terrible so we walked out.

The owner also serves tables very well along with his excellent staff. Attentive, professional, but also a lot of fun, the dynamics between them and the overall atmosphere of the place. Something you don't find all that often. Great food as well.

This restaurant has to be one of my faves in Plymouth! The staff are so friendly & helpful; the restaurant's vibe is so cosy & comfortable. The food is out of this world, the portions are amazing & very reasonably priced. I haven't met nicer restaurant staff than here. The arancini balls for starters & spaghetti aglio e olio for main were superb! Thank you for an amazing evening :)

We had the most sublime lunch here today, no word of a lie, every course tasted heavenly. I have been to Italy many many times and this is the BEST Italian cuisine I have had outside the home country. Absolutely fanstastic, we will definitely be back as soon as possible!

Last minute decision to eat here and we were really pleased. The restaurant is spotless, really clean. Service was excellent, very quick and efficient. The food was absolutely amazing, authentic Italian flavours, large portion and very tasty. We really enjoyed it! They even gave us take away boxes as we couldn't finish the pizzas! Dont be put off by the scaffolding outside this place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend it!

We ordered the arancini balls and they arrived 4/5 minutes after ordering. I think they were microwaved as they came out steaming hot, although did not taste too bad. I then had the crab linguine which was a huge portion and tasted nice. Nice Italian decor with quick service.

Outstanding service and food. We ate as a family early on a Saturday night, four adults and two small children. Staff were amazing, nothing was a problem, we even added to our food order mid flow due to the youngest changing their mind and wanting Pizza. Food was delicious, plentiful and the menu has a great variety. This is a little gem in Plymouth and defiantly worth a visit. A bug well done from our family!

Had a great lunch here on Saturday. A good lunchtime special menu. Will be back again.

First time visiting very pleasantly surprised met by lovely waitress who we later found out was called Isla who left us to look at menu great choices on menu , we ordered wine and starter both were well presented and tasted delicious then our mains arrived again very well presented and very tasty portions were on the large side and great value for money. We were left to enjoy our wine at our leisure and we ordered a sweet to share, cheesecake and it again was delicious. Like to shout out to Isla who was great, we were very happy with the cost of the meal and will definitely be going back .

We were stopping in the area, and fancied a nice relaxing Italian meal... A warm welcome with a smiling face, into a nice little restaurant. Drinks were offered promptly with the menus. I had Carpaccio as starter, which was fabulous.. lots of rocket, Parmesan and beef. My Dad had the Crab Linguine as main.. it was so good he took leftovers home with him for that following evening meal.. My wife had Carbonara, which she said was fab, and I had the Pork Marsala.. which was delicious..!! We were warned about portion sizes and offered smaller plates.. Highly recommended..!!!

To those shameful people who failed to turn up for their NYE reservations!!! Try calling next time to notify them you’re not turning up! - and allowing a popular restaurant to therefore then work efficiently - without your hampering. Chefs that can cook a fillet steak properly - long may that last. Need to buy them a carpaccio meat slicer - so you can showcase it, as it should be. Thank you for a lovely unexpected evening x

Absolutely blown away by the food, my partner and I were impressed with our starters and main, but man alive, the special of the day, Desert wise (honey and nut based cheese cake), absolutely gorgeous. The staffing team were simply superb, warm friendly and extremely polite. Service was first class. Recommended.
