El personal estaba por cerrar pero eran más que dispuesto a permanecer abierto y luego nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. las porciones buen tamaño y una excelente relación calidad-precio

Visited here yesterday and would defo visit again.great value for money.not the poshest of places but nice honest food enjoyed it.steak and kidney pie homemade and lovely

Servicio agradable y relajado ambiente, pequeño restaurante también, así que no tiene la sensación de que grandes restaurantes loco, comida deliciosa, y una gran variedad, que nunca nos ha decepcionado. Sorprendentemente los precios razonables, especialmente teniendo en cuenta la calidad del anuncio las enormes porciones de comida. Estupendo durante todo el año.

No creo que era propiedad de la misma gente que posee la de la Barbacana. La comida era sosa, la mayoría de la gente podría ser mejor en casa. El personal que sirve están bien, pero el personal de cocina necesario solucionar.

We regurlarly visit the pasta and pizza bar for office nights and the service provided is without a shadow of a doubt of the best in Plymouth. The staff are incredibly friendly and polite! The food is incredible, couldn't fault it!! Great atmosphere!! Highly recommend!

Reservamos sin ningún problema. Cuando llegamos nos dieron la bienvenida con una cálida sonrisa y sentado en nuestra mesa reservada. Nos ofrecieron bebidas mientras nos examinamos el menú, el camarero nos atendió nuestro pedido, la comida se servía rápidamente, hacía calor y todos disfrutamos nuestra selección. Todo el año una visita fantástica .

Lovely food, lovely staff & lovely price! Will definitely be back!! Came here for an impromptu lunch with son and fiancé. A real treasure though it doesn't look much from the outside.

Me quedé muy impresionado con la calidad y el precio de la comida, y todo el personal era muy amable y servicial, sin duda le recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera que esté buscando un lugar para comer, estupendo para una comida entre amigos, una cena para una pareja o una familia visita!

Yet again alovely meal the staff friendly and helpful the service quick meal hot my partner had pasta which he orders every time he goes as he never found a place that makes it to his taste, this time i had the lamb shank with stir fry veg and fries which i was unable to finish due to the portion but it was lovely lamb fell of the bone maybe next time no starter we both love to start of with garlic mushrooms which was lovely.

We have eaten here many times and both the service and food are first class. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is not only tasty but excellent value for money.

Visiting Plymouth a few times each year, I usually have dinner here: always good service & delicious, well prepared food, with a £9.95 for starter + main most evenings. I've probably visited more than 40 times over the past 20 years, with never a cause for complaint. Thanks to all.

I had high hopes for this restaurant as I love pizza and pasta. When we arrived we were greeted by a confused man holding a grotty scrap of paper that apparently had our names on it. There were no niceties, he just seated us, by the door, which by the way is opening and closing all the time so if you don't enjoy sitting in a draft ask to be seated away from the door.We liked the menu, not over complicated and confusing but it was slightly grubby, I ordered the grilled hallumi and rocket salad to start, it was tasteless and cold, but I had never had it before so figured perhaps its supposed to taste rubbery?I chose the cannelloni for my main, when it arrived it was steaming hot, which was nice but when i lifted it up I could see it was burnt underneath, I can't be sure but I would say it was frozen and microwaved(the side of chips were definitely frozen) it was, in my opinion no better than a Marks and Spencer microwave meal but double the price. In short it lacked in atmosphere, I was freezing cold throughout the meal, the staff looked stressed and miserable and the food was ok if you're really really hungry but other than that it wasn't the sort of place i would ever revisit.Very disappointed.

I went here at the weekend and the place is buzzing - nice atmosphere, good service decent menu with lots of choice. It was OK the food was nice the portion sizing was variable depending on what you ordered - the veg cannelloni was tiny compared to the pasta with veg and stilton meal which was huge. The salad leaves quite bitter - but how can you know that when you serve them I suppose. The starters where amazing - really great garlic mushrooms (no bread with it) and really nice olives and bread. Overall it was fine.

When in Plymouth visit the Pasta and Pizza bar for lunchtime treats, The pasta is excellent filling and tasty, and the service is wonderful. There are some excellent lunchtime 3 course offers which provide great value for money.

Came here for a 3-course dinner and loved all of the food! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service is friendly and efficient. Will be back!

Recently ate here with my fiancee. This is the first restaurant i took her...five years ago. Always lovely food but after eating in other places...the quality needs to be improved. Yes youre running a cheap menu but wheres the effort?? Again lovely food just a bit more care and consideration would be lovely

The positive reviews of this so-called restaurant are completely misleading. Inside, it looks like the Cafe from the apprentice that the losing team get sent to. In-fact that is probably an overly generous simile. We were skeptical from the start, but my girlfriend said, "Don't judge a book by its cover". In hindsight, I can firmly say that this saying has no applicability in the case of the Pasta and Pizza bar. The menu arrived and I ordered a stone-baked, handmade pizza.and my girlfriend ordered a chicken dish. When the food came out, I can honestly say that the pizza was not freshly made. It would be insulting to Tesco to compare it to a pizza from its value range. Severe hunger led me to consume this cheese-ball: not mozzarella; cheap and nasty cheddar. It was the most disgusting pizza that I have consumed and i feel lethargic post-consumption. Food envy was definitely not occurring on our table as my girlfriend's dish arrived. It was a ball of cheese melted over a frozen and partially heated cooked chicken breast combined with some again, half-cooked chips. We were not impressed. There are so many nicer restaurants than this for a similar price: pizza express, Bella Italia etc. Don't ruin your night by going here.

Lovely food (huge quantity!). Very tasty. The environment was really quite and the service was efficient and quick. Though I think the lady should be a bit more attentive with customers, instead of just deliverying the food. In terms of price it is worthy as we couldn't finish our meals, so we had to ask for a takeaway box. I will return, certainly! :)

Varied menu, offering delicious dishes at fantastic value - never dissappoints. The staff are really friendy and its always a great athmosphere.

I am a big fan of this place and as such we visit quite often, we are always delighted with the quality and value of the food and service is amazing. The most recent visit was during wet and winday Saturday shopping trip and we walked from the top of the town to the bottom (yes we did get soaked!) purely to eat at this place.They offer a three course lunch for £7.95 or £9.95 depending on options and all are delicous and good value, both my step daughter and I struggled to eat all of our main courses having feasted on cheesy nachos to start, service is quick and friendly, the lady offered to let us have our desserts as take away when we were too full!Well worth a visit and the walk from the busier top of town area, this place has a sister restaurant on the Barbican which we have also visited and both are equially as good and I believe the samr price however this one is fair less busy during peak periods (Fri / Sat evenings)

We have been here a few times as a couple and as a family, every meal we have had as been lovely its on several floors unsure you can say its wheelchair friendly the staff work hard to please all there customers.

I visited this restaurant in Plymouth at the beginning of October with 2 work friends one evening. We were tired after a long day working and were looking for a good value, warm, tasty dinner...this is exactly what we got. The 3 of us had 2 courses for £9.95. I had the caprese salad (mozerella with fresh tomatoes) It was excellent, the tomatoes were perfectly ripened and they were generous with the mozzarella which was very fresh and tasty) for main I had a creamy chicken spicy tagliatelle which was so tasty and fresh. One friend had garlic creamy mushrooms to start and seafood spaghetti for main which she said she loved and my other friend has nachos to start followed by a pasta dish. We all really enjoyed it, such good food at a great price. When I next visit Plymouth I shall be returning.It was also nice to see the lady who owned the business there serving us too :)

This was the first eatery we used during our six day trip to Devon and Cornwall with our two youngest children. My husband, a Royal Navy veteran, recommended it and we enjoyed a fairly relaxed, good value and tasty family lunch. I ordered the Chicken La Ti Da which is a pitta bread filled with chicken in a lemon juice and cream sauce served with chips and a fresh salad. It was nice but rather a tastebud stretcher (but, then again, I wanted something unusual). My husband had a good looking Hawaiian pizza which he shared with one of the children, the other child had sausage, chips and beans. The sausage, although a little too well cooked, was nice and meaty. My main concern about the venue is that it would benefit from a really good clean in the public areas, particularly down the stairs towards the toilets (which were in good condition, I should add). It was certainly very popular with tourists and locals alike. It is what it is!!

This restaurant is a family favourite! Children are very welcome. The food is fresh and well cooked and plenty of it. They have a very comprehensive menu and a special menu for lunchtime offering a starter and main course for under £10.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years, never had a problem, staff have always been pleasant and helpful and food is great and reasonably priced.

I love the food in both restaurants they have we always eat here often and thoroughly enjoy it every time. The service is ok the food is lovely and prices are great the lunchtime menu is very reasonable and has a good range. I would recommend these establishments anytime!!!

We have been visiting this place for a few years and whilst it does seem to have become a bit quieter as previous reviews suggest I think this is more to do with the location as the bottom of town.We certainly enjoy it and fine it very good value, they do an evening meal with two courses for £9.95 exceptional value for food that appears to be home cooked.Although we normally choose from the set menu above you can also order from the main menu which is equally as delightful.On our most recent visit there was a large table of American diners who appeared to rake over the entire restaurant talking very loudly and letting their young child run around everyone else's table however this cannot be attributed to the restaurant and it's staff.

Went to this restaurant last night for friend birthday meal. The place was very quiet it was 7.30pm. There was 7 of us, the waitress seemed very nice and helpful, but the food was not. The steak didn't taste of anything, chips were from a frozen bag. The ribs were defo ribs but no meat, just grizzel. We couldn't get out quick enough, told the waitress as our plates were still rather full, but she only offered us another meal. No thankyou.We will never go back.

Shopping in town wanted some lunch saw this place and decided to give it a try. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and very good price for three courses and even though they were very busy we were not kept waiting long. We will be back : )

Having seen exceptional reviews on the internet, myself and my girlfriend decided to go for a meal here. Let's just say we were less than impressed. On entering we were greeting with a stench of fart and old people. We considered leaving at once, but we were hungry and it was cheap. For starters we had chicken wings and nachos, which had clearly been straight from the sainsburys basics selection. Garnished bizarrely with, a clearly very old olive and cress. Let's just say it was edible but not very nice. Moving on to our main we decided to go for lasagne and Cajun Pasta. Well, the lasagne was clearly in the freezer for a while and microwaved before being served. The crusty cheese tasted off and smelt disgusting whilst the pasta was bland and lumpy. The Cajun sauce was straight from a jar and was extremely spicy without any real flavor. Having only eaten a small amount of food we decided to leave. Not even staying for the desert which we had pre paid for. I think it's about time they hired a real chef and spiced up their menu, maybe got an air freshener too.

I have come here a couple of times a year over a decade and more. Meanwhile this end of town has become increasingly run down. I used to like the a Pasta and Pizza Bar because it had a relaxed welcoming family feel, usually had a bit of bustle to it and had a wide range of food on the menu. More recently it has become quieter and I have noticed that several items still on the menu are simply not available. For example the lamb steaks. I remain loyal to this place and also use he sister restaurant, the Barbican Pasta Bar. Perhaps the time has come for a bit of a rethink by the management.maybe some redecoration and a redraft of the menu?

Went for a birthday meal in honour of myself, arrived at 7 on a Thursday. We were asked if we minded waiting as there would be a 10 minute wait for a table. That was fine. We waited at the bar and engaged in polite chitchat with the staff, very friendly. We were seated, courted by the friendly staff and had a lovely meal which was fairly priced. Definitely recommended!

We saw advertised a lunch deal at £7.95 for three courses, so we weren't expecting Michelin star food here, but even so...I had nachos to start which were burnt and served with a suspicious looking 'sour cream', I was blessed with a generous one jalepeno and cress?! My Panini nearly broke a tooth, and I passed on dessert.A girl on the next table asked for her apple juice without ice, they took it away and I saw then put their hand over the glass and strain the apple juice out before re-serving..yuk.Felt ill all afternoon and won't be returning!

My husband and I decided to have lunch here after christmas shopping and we were so glad we did. Food was lovely - best chicken noodle soup I have ever tasted and the pork steak with pepper and mustard sauce was delicious. My husband also raved about his meal! Everything was piping hot and service was friendly and efficient. We have told family members about this fantastic little restaurant and I know my parents are hoping to visit soon. Three courses each and 2 cokes for under £20 is amazing. Restaurant is also very clean. We will be back very soon

The parents and I popped in for lunch Sunday and was pleased with what we had. Being pasta and pizza and therefore quite Italian I was a little worried when I saw classic roast dinners coming out but after a very good bruschetta, the roast beef was ok. A good amount of food but I just feel it could have been improved with a little more care. However considering the price I suppose all is well. My parents enjoyed the meals so it's all good.

Nothing whatever exceptional about this little place which is at street level on top of the basement Grecian Taverns below. The P & A is a clean average OK place to eat. Unremarkable but no complaints.

excellent food and service,staff very helpful and knowledgable,only went in because the weather was pretty bad and did not expect the quality food on offer, we will be going back and recommend it for a meal. Overall it was the nicest food we had over the weekend and well worth a visit it is also handy for the bars.

All in all the food is okay, staff like to give the impression they are rushed off their feet when really they arent doing anything. Despite having booked a table had to wait 30 minutes for a table,no apology was forthcoming. There are better italian places in plymouth.

We took a trip up to Plymouth on the 6th September Friday ,we normally have a sandwich or the like from a café as we both like to spend valuable time looking around the shops. However s as we had more time we thought to try a restaurant for a change and came across The Pasta and Pizza Bar,the menu was varied from Roasts to fish and chips.we decided on Lasagne ,chips ,garlic bread for starter followed by two nice desserts with tea and coffee. The waitress/daytime manager was most helpful waiting between courses while I went to put more money in the car park machine .the price for both came to a very modest £22 . The food was first class and hot and the Restaurant was clean and in a very handy part of the City ,The host has worked there for 31 years which says a lot for the place . We will certainly head straight there on our next trip
