Booked a table here with friends and were shown to a lovely booth in the lower half of the restaurant as requested. Manager confirmed our Platinum booking and the Attentive Sam, our server for the evening took our drinks order while we studied the menu. Agreed to share several of the “nibbles” menu for starters and then ordered pasta dishes and one the burger. All the food was tasty, well presented and full of flavour. Great service throughout from Sam and excellent value with the Platinum discount applied to the bill. Will certainly visit again.

A good venue to catch up with old friends, we return here often. Staff are always welcoming and the food generally doesn't disappoint. Ive eaten at this restaurant many times, both lunch and evening and have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. It can get noisy sometimes, but it is a "good noisy". i Just a little disappointed with chicken Caesar salad.....hardly any chicken which is a shame as generally portions are very good.

A fairly decent sized establishment considering its location We had a chilled beer at the bar before the rest of our group arrived A nice and open restaurant with plenty of seating When we were seated, we found ourselves near the open kitchen This is where tonight’s entertainment took place No idea if they were short staffed tonight or not, but the front of house staff were doing a great job - maintained composure and friendliness, whilst being shouted at by the chef(s) in the kitchen Meanwhile, constant burning smells were being wafted into the restaurant This was confirmed by the burnt base of my king prawn on my risotto The rest of the risotto was tasty and I feel the burnt prawn let it down I would like to, and I likely will, give this place another chance - I may venture to its sister location in the city centre But based on tonight’s experience, I simply can’t rate this more than just plain average

I went to Gusto yesterday, the meal was amazing as always, Chiara who looked after us was wonderful even though she was so busy. She always serves us with a smile, always happy.

Food was average for an Italian restaurant and the service was poor. We went as a family of 6, were shown to our table and whenever we wanted to order food or drinks had to call the waiter over, not once did he approach us to check food was alright for us or if we want more drinks. Then when the bill arrived there was a £24 service charge added. I would usually pay this no problem however, the waiter did nothing to earn this. Food was ok but nothing special for the price.

We were a family group of five and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were very tasty and decent sized proportions. Special shout out to our waitress, Chiara, from sunny Sardinia. She was very welcoming, helpful and super efficient Well Done!

Four of us booked for lunch. Music was too loud, it was turned down on request but could have been lower. Meatballs as starters were a little cool and not very tasty. The "bread" was thin slices of bread toasted, very brittle, would be better with plain sourdough. Main courses were very good. Fabulous pepperoni pizza and some of the best fries I have had. The lemon chicken, carbonara and Salmon were also very good. Good cup of coffee to finish. A party of school children arrived part way through the meal, that made it a little noisier than I like.£98 for four if us was a good price. Overall an enjoyable experience

We went on the last day of the 50% off food promotion. The restaurant was so busy even at 5pm. People love a bargain! I have to say even though the restaurant was so busy the service was really attentive and the food was superb. I had the garlic prawns followed by the sea bass. Delicious 😋 Unfortunately We were sat near a table of people who clearly were professional complainers demanding they were given the 50% off promotion even though they weren’t entitled to it as they were not gusto members! The staff handled the situation very well I have to say! I cannot recommend Gusto highly enough. Just shame about the Neanderthal thugs on the other table!

Disappointing visit for my wife's birthday: - starters were ok - kids ordered make your own pizza. After ordering we were told that the kitchen was really busy so the chef would need to make the pizzas instead of the kids (the idea is they bring the toppings to the table for the kids to add). I could see the chef had already put the kids pizzas in the oven at this point, so went with it. - We both ordered roasts without cauliflower cheese. When served, both had a gap and cheese sauce left where the cauliflower cheese had just been scooped off. We sent these back. - The food came back out, but was really poor. My wife's beef was cold. My pork was ok. Both our potatoes seemed to have been cremated by a heat lamp. My wife sent hers back again and just asked not to be charged. I ate mine as frankly I was starving, but it was poor. - When we booked, we added a note relating to one of our party who has a disability. Seemingly this note wad not read. - the price of my wife's roast was taken off the bill - An automatic 12.5% service charge was added to the bill, for a party of 4. I was gobsmacked that I had to ask for this to be removed, given we had needed to send a total of 3 dishes back

Gusto Cookridge never disappoints us. The food and service were both excellent as always. Thanks to Chiara for looking after us so well. She is lovely, friendly and helpful. In spite of the January offer and the restaurant being very busy, the quality of food and service were 100%. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening and dinner enjoyable.

Visited on a cold and frosty Thursday evening and the place was packed out, no doubt due to the 50% off deal. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the duck breast and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were under pressure because of the number of diners, but they were friendly and efficient at all times. I couldnt manage a sweet but my granddaughter had the bombolini and thought it was lovely. This was a 5 star dining experience.

Great after work meal/team bonding session. Very busy, good vibe, quick service, professional, specially Chiara who was serving our table of 8. After previously writing a fairly scathing review last year our return visit was much improved. Visiting on a midweek January evening without booking I was very surprised to find the place packed out! It seems the 50% off food offer is working a treat ;) We hadn't booked but the manager still greeted us warmly and with an honest assessment of about a 30 minute wait. This turned out to be pretty much spot on. Waiting in the bar area with many others we weren't sure he'd remember the order guests arrived but he did a great job of this. We received the same warm treatment from our waitress (Chiara?) throughout the evening despite her being run off her feet (the same as all of the waiting staff). Considering just how busy the restaurant was tables were prepared, orders taken and food presented exceptionally efficiently. Unlike on our previous visit all of our food was very flavoursome. Starters of meatballs and scallops and mains of lasagne, pork gnocchi (with a lovely kick) and a 'Gusto loves' smoked pork cutlet. With the 50% off offer we were all happy with dishes however had they been at full price we would have left feeling short changed as we all felt that portions were very small. This would be our only issue and would certainly make us think twice about visiting again unfortunately. That said, the Cookridge venue itself provided excellent service and food and I wouldn't hesitate on recommending it when a suitable offer is in place.
