Really good service, the waiter who was serving us was polite and attentive and always stopped to make conversation during the meal, even after I had to spell my name out to find the booking 😃!

I ordered a gluten free pizza. Waited 20 minutes then when it arrived it was obviously not gluten free, I asked if it was and the waiter said yes, I asked another waiter who took the order and they said "it should be, then looked again and said no". They took it away and brought a "gluten free" pizza back 5 minutes later. Shortly after I felt very sick. I don't think they take allergies seriously here. Won't be back

This was the best pizza express I have ever visited the staff, service, atmosphere and food was exceptional. Our server was Lily, she was super friendly and helpful making sure we had enough drinks and was extremely accommodating. The manager Matt was extremely friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was amazing credit to the chefs. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks so much.

Visited here over the weekend and had a fantastic experience. We were seated promptly in the corner which was nice and quiet. A slight wait for our order to be taken but once it was, the food came out really quickly and was lovely. Couldn't fault it!

I ordered before 6pm and I received my food at 8pm cold and tasteless

Rude waitor...using inappropriate comments about sizes...then a massive delay meant we got a free pizza. Would not recommend

My pizza was nice, staff attentive although the wine has to be a negative. Ordered lge glass of chianti reserva (I drink this as my preffered wine) it was not upto standard, very bitter still full bodied but tasted bitter) the girl changed it to a monte, (I think) but it tasted just the same changed it for me without a fuss. But still not the wine I expected. Good italians drink good wine. Maybe a review on your supplier. ( had better from supermarket). Sorry a good pizza, with not so good wine. Not ideal.

Just overall was absolutely brilliant. Was an absolute pleasure to be served by such a spirited kind young lad. Very quick, funny, great service. His steps must be sky high, on his toes a lot. The food was even better, credit to the chefs. We’ll be back again soon!

Rude staff, totally got order wrong, half table served 5-10 minutes before the other half so if you’re planning on dining with the people you are going with then avoid here. No effort to make things right just simply, they made a mistake and refuse to own it.

The Manager Matt was extremely rude. I did not appreciate his customer service and people like him should have positions like that. I will never visit the place again

We visit here on our trips to Leeds as we like the menu.. On our visit this year we had the pleasure of been looked after by Kyle and what a pleasure he was to of known. Customer service at it's very best I hope the management look after him as well as he looks after their customers. While the food is good I do think the price of their beer and soft drinks is extortionate. Also the salads over £14 and you have to pay for the breadsticks as an extra when they were originally included in the price I just feel they will out price themselves as people are thinking more carefully how they spend their money. So big thank you Kyle with your attitude you will do well in life.

The place is OK. I don't know if we got staff on a bad day (it wasn't busy). Order came out wrong. Easily resolved but the staff hovered over us constantly making us feel uneasy. To be fair the 2 stars was as a result of the ladies toilets. They were grim. The dust in there alone made it obvious that it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Really disappointed with it and has put me off going back.

Such good food and the girl upstairs was really sweet but she was all alone managing too many tables by herself. Two serves upstairs are needed at a minimum.

Attend with family expecting a nice Gluten Free pizza... with a name like pizza express you would think they would get it right. The Gluten Free pizza was so small, nowhere near the size of the normal Romana pizzas, if the waitress has made us aware of this we would of known to order the polenta chips to go with this. Instead we had to order them seperate when the food had arrived. The pizza topping was very nice, however very sloppy and runny. It was like they had put a normal pizza portion on top, which made the whole thing rather messy. The Gluten Free pizza base, unfortunately, was one of the worst we ever had. It was tasteless and hard. Everyone else seemed to enjoy there pizzas but we were left disappointed by the Gluten Free.

Booked a table at 8pm on the 24th November, waiter Kyle was brilliant, very friendly and understanding, going above and beyond to help out when we needed it. And big thanks to manager Matt who took care of a situation we had with real professionalism and kindness. We all had a really great evening, thank you!

We had a brilliant time being served by Kyle last night, and Matt. They were very kind and helpful, especially when one of our party was unfortunately ill, they made sure she was alright and were just genuinely very good at serving us the whole night.

Visited on a Sunday evening, and I have to say the service was excellent. Waitress asked about allergens straight away and they really do cater for all. The gluten free dough balls were fantastic however you do only get 5 in comparison to the normal 10. However the gluten free pizza option, is probably by far the worst GF pizza I have ever had. GF pizza are usually smaller than the normal pizza however this one was less than half the size of all other pizzas served on the table. The base was like an overly thick pancake and just soggy. I got the BBQ burnt ends pizza (this choice is probably my fault) but it looked as though they had tried to put on as much toppings and sauce as they do a regular pizza, so it was just a big sloppy mess. The topping itself was lovely however I could not eat half the base. All other pizzas served on the table we wonderful and all finished, waitress was quick the clear our plates and when asked for the bill.

As far as this chain goes the ambience is pretty poor- the amazing historic external appearance is not matched inside. The service was ok and the food was what you’d expect but not great overall. Did not feel cozy or welcoming at all…. Better options in Leeds I’d say.

Booked a table here 3 days in advance as was going to be visiting with children and wanted to ensure we had a table. On the way I noticed an automated email saying my booking had been cancelled but no other information. My booking was still showing as confirmed in the app. Called the restaurant and was told it had been cancelled due to an error with their app which meant too many people had booked so they’d had to cancel loads of bookings. No phone call or detailed communication telling me why. Terrible service and the person I spoke to seemed very uninterested. Definitely won’t book to go back as what’s the point if it could get cancelled last minute. Not very reliable.

Won’t let me put that my delivery was 60 minutes late. Ordered at 8:30pm said 25-35 min delivery. No food showed up. Rang the restaurant at 9:45, they said food has been sat there waiting for over an hour but no drivers coming. They gave me a contact number for just eat. It was just an automated service which said to leave a review. I went to bed at 10:45, 2 hrs and 15 minutes after my food was due as I have work at 6am. I had Tuna Nisoa salad and garlic prawns.The prawns were from the microwave and salad was with tuna from thin with a few sour cherry tomatoes...For both I paid £23 ..This was the worst food I ever had..Will never go back,😡

We ate here 8/9/23z very easy to book on line, warm friendly welcome, one of the young ladies helped with my food choice, service very good. The food was well presented but very salty & my partners pasta was hard as though it had been kept under the lights too long. I previously wrote a review but it was never posted, not sure why!

Really amazing food tonight, me and boyfriend decided to try the pizza express on Albion street as he works at another location of PE, and I work at another chain Italian so fancied a change of scenery. It was beautiful and the service from the blonde young server was really attentive and helped me pick my awkward vegan non vegan pizza lol. Really great, would love to come back soon. Thanks all x

Weekend break with the family, babysitting for wedding. Took the granddaughter here for the evening. She loved it and we enjoyed the hospitality and the food. Very family friendly and helpful staff.

Pretty nice pizzas, good vegan and gluten free options. Even have a gluten free brownie, but the vegan dessert options are a bit boring. It's not clear on the menu, but they can make the vegan dough balls gluten free too! The real showstopper is the garlic and parsley dip though, so addictive.

We always enjoy our visits top Pizza Express, we are especially fond of this particular branch. We always encounter great, friendly service and the food as always is top notch.

We used to frequent Pizza Express a great deal in the past but had not been in a very long while. We decided to pay them a visit today just to see if we enjoyed the food as much as we used to. Their prices are expensive it has to be said and we can get pizzas at far better value elsewhere but we went anyway. The food was just as good as we remembered it but the level of service was sadly lacking. We were left waiting for ages and ages before someone came then the actual wait for anything to arrive was rather tedious and the place was not over busy. It may have been shift change-over time but we wanted a dessert but there was nobody around. Finally I decided we had waited long enough and got up to pay the bill without having had a sweet course. At the till the question did come up about leaving a gratuity. At least I had the satisfaction of telling someone that the service had been appalling and that we would not be back.

Sat us at a table almost in kitchen , on a thoroughfare , next to a fire exit , waiters smashing and clanking glasses , rude waitress didn’t move us when asked , slow service , so got up and walked out without ordering . Poorly run establishment.

Went bere before a show. Was really quiet when we had arrived, but definitely recommend booking a table as soon got busy. Service for drink and starters was really quick, but once we had our mains we got left alone and no one offered us anything else, or check everything was okay. We was waiting for nearly 15 minutes before they came to take the playes away and rhen we had to get someone elses attention to ask for the bill which again took a while to come. Overall service was really slow. But the food was really nice.

Very friendly staff. You can now order on the pizza express app and apply discount codes there. You can also pay from the app. Quite handy! Outdoor seating and plenty of indoor as well. Food was very good.

we go to this pizza express sometimes for lunch and it is a great place everyone is so friendly and kind and sometimes we get a great server named lily who is a star to see and very helpful and kind will keep going here for lunch in the future.

This was an excellent restaurant to dine in at, where me and my friend were guided to a table upon entry and given a menu! The setting is stylish inside an old building, seating is comfortable and the staff were nice. I had a Funghi di Bosco Pizza, accompanied by a Spanish soft drink and cleanliness had been enforced!

I’d like to first start off by saying for the last 7 years when I come to the UK from the US to visit, I look forward to always making a stop at pizza express. It’s a must for me every single time. I’ve been to many locations and I’ve never felt compelled to leave a bad review until today. I stopped by this location today and was sadly disappointed. The waiter had stopped by my table to hand me some vegan garlic butter and pesto and put their hands in my food to grab the regular garlic butter to take back to the kitchen. I had to quickly grab it to give to them otherwise they would’ve had their hand all over my food.!!!!! Then to only be brought the proper butter to be set back on my plate that I was eating from. I would’ve much rather it be sat on the table. Super unsanitary! As I see the waiters moving chairs, grabbing and cleaning off dirty tables all while handling food. I for the first time didn’t finish my pizza. I asked what looked like a manger and she was very dismissive saying well the cooks use their hands to make the food and they keep their hands clean. (Which I get.) they are usually in one spot. Waiters are handling everyone.!!!! AND dirty dishes and tables. Gross and very turned off. Sad that I even had to write this review. Don’t put your hands in near my food if you are not cooking it!!!!!!! Set what I need down on the table for ME to grab. Period.

Lovely evening spent with the granddaughter, good food, pleasant staff and some great menu choices. Very busy but they managed to get us in great little corner.

We were seated immediately as the place wasn't busy. Once ordered, the food came quickly and was very good. We ordered starters and mains, plus drinks. After my son had finished his pizza first, his plate was swiftly cleared. We didn't mind this. However once we had finished our main course, our plates were cleared, then the bill was brought to us without us asking for it. We were surprised at this, we had planned on having dessert but didn't feel comfortable asking for it after this. The restaurant wasn't busy, only a few tables were occupied, so this was not the reason they wanted us out. Pretty soon after the bill had arrived, a waitress came over with a card machine. Then she remembered that I had Tesco vouchers to use. She gave me a few moments to get the vouchers on my phone then she was back with the machine. They clearly wanted us to leave which made us feel unwelcome. This was not a good experience in all honesty. They hadn't even asked us how our meal was or asked if we wanted more drinks, I had to get the waitress's attention to order another drink. Very disappointing as we had expected a nice evening out, not to be rushed with no dessert or coffee. It wasn't late either, only about 9.15. Next time we visit Leeds we will go elsewhere to eat.

Lovely food and super fast service

Very disappointing! Me and my husband waited for almost 40minutes for our orders, while the other table next to us, group of 4, which came in 10minutes after us had their orders in no time. When we asked what happened to our order, one staff said they just put the pizza in the oven.. We ended up cancelling our order. Will never come back there again. Such a shame!

Came here before a concert with a friend. Arrived 40 mins before our booking but our table was ready so we could sit down, we were upstairs by the window which was nice as downstairs was very busy. Starters of calamari and dough balls were great, our pizzas were delicious and dessert equally as good (millionaires sundae and the lemon roulade). Service was efficient, staff pleasant, I had a voucher to use and this was knocked off the bill without any problems, would recommend.

We've been going to pizza express for 10-15 years, we always ask for a fiorentina pizza with a soft yolk. Which sometimes you get, sometimes you don't. In this instance we were provided 2 pizzas with raw egg underneath the surface ... Completely raw. When we pointed it out the staff attempted to explain it away by saying it can't be done any other way and other food items influence the cooking. Basically implying that we asked for it like that and what did we expect. Many times we have been served a soft yolk without the white being raw. You need to cook your food longer. We actually had to ask for one to be refunded, which was the least they could do. The food was largely inedible. The same server even had the cheek to point out the tipping question on the bill. Press no yourself or don't point it out after that farce.

We went to Leeds for a family day out, we went to pizza express for a meal in Beverley a few weeks ago and was far superior to the Leeds restaurant Was greeted well here at Leeds, but after we had been seated our drinks our was taken at the Same time as our food order would have liked to have had drinks before ordering food like we did in Beverley, starters came in good time and where very good, felt very rushed as main course came before starter plates had been cleaned, think the girls where most interested in talking to each other, including the managers not looking after the customers !! We can not complain about the food as it was very good we’ll done to the chefs, when it came to the desserts we ordered two desserts and two cocktails, desserts where good cocktails where terrible no flavour to them at all, the manager came over the talk to us, advertising a cocktail menu it was just a pre made cocktail in a bottle, she tried to charge us but we didn’t pay for these cocktail, after checking the bill there was two ice lolly’s on the bill these where from the table next to us!! Again the girls more interested in talking to each other including the managers We will think about going to another pizza express or another restaurant in Leeds next time, I think that head office should look into the service at this restaurant

Pizza was nice (Pollo Ad Astra) but went cold within 5 minutes, put it down to the super thin base, and being served on a cold plate. Raw slaw was OK but nothing to write home about. Overall atmosphere was good but very loud.

Menu is a mix of old favourites and new ideas, staff attentive and helpful. Good quality food at a reasonable price.

After a toasted sandwich for lunch I knew I didn't want a pizza, but my visit reminded me their menu included a delicious nicoise tuna salad. I did accidentally extinguish the table candle as I struggled to read the menu in the subdued light.
