The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

Love the food at Laya. Took my mate who'd never been before for his birthday today and he was blown away. Plenty of options for vegetarians/pescetarians like me as well as meat dishes. Try the aubergine and chickpea curry - incredible smoky, tamarind-y flavour. Also a big fan of the veggie biryani and the masala dosa. Everything is so flavourful. And there's still a lot of things on the menu I want to try, so I'll keep coming back.

Postbox is a real gem among Indian restaurants that can be found on the map of London. The owner and staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is amazing. Always excellent food from Taj Spice, the garlic chilli and shatkora dishes are our favourite. Food is always full of flavour and not at all greasy, made with fresh ingredients. Nice balance of complex spices and heat, always a real treat.

Fantastic little restaurant. Bring your own beer too! Value for money is unbelievable. Food is awesome, they also do delivery!!!!

The menu is appealing and offers a nice variety. The service is friendly but lacking in experience, I think, little things such as receiving food before drinks, beer before water, etc. Some staff take drink orders and some food, and it's all a little chaotic, we've been asked the same questions multiple times by various ppl. Nothing bad, just not quite there yet. It says to order 2-3 dishes per person, which I think is almost too much! Especially the curries were quite big. The okra seemed not quite cooked and were a little disappointing. The buttery chicken and spicy greens are my highlight. £100 for 2ppl, 2 beers, 6 (as recommended) plates, is not cheap. It's a good place to eat. If I'm in the area, I'd come back, but I don't think I would rush back on purpose. Decent food spot

Brilliant service,fantastic staff,and amazing food. The atmosphere is great it's brilliant for all ages including children.

Poisoned and robbed. Only explanation is fake reviews. Average curry at exhaustionate prices. For the prices they charge I expect white table cloths, a full bar, more than 1 waiter and a hot towel following the meal. The environment is pretty grotty too. For a no frills curry the price is too high. £10 for 4 papads and a pickle tray is robery. Avoid

Second time eating Indian food in London (from the US) and it didn’t disappoint! If you’re new to Indian food like I am, highly recommend this place. Naz was great and provided top tier service.

Highly recommend Spice Culture. Food was great but service from Priyanka was superb. She engaged in conversation about the origins of some of the food further enhancing the evening experience.
