I return time after time because I am treated like royalty, never hassled and often spend more than 2 hours there with excellent food, beautifully cooked and nicely served. The restaurant is a great asset to Shilbottle, always happy to support the village, a place where I consider I have friends. All my visitors ask to be taken to Lal Khazana; we enjoy reading the varied menu( plenty of choice for vegetarians) almost as much as eating the food! Parking is easy and access straight-forward.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Food is top quality with some fabulous and different specials. The welcome and service is simply top drawer. If you are staying in Alnwick or anywhere nearby I highly recommend making the short trip out to Shilbottle to visit Hussein & team at Lal Khazana, I’m certain you will be delighted.

I’ve been going to the Lal Khazana for as long as I’ve lived here, it’s always been first class! The food is excellent, not a bad item on the menu, I would highly recommend the Khazana’s mixed platter for 2 if you’re sitting in. The service is spot on, the staff are always very friendly and good crack. Very attentive and tend to go the extra mile for their customer’s.

I took friends recently for the evening their first visit as always it was superb my prawn shatkora was the best I have ever eaten we all enjoyed our meals the service was first class the atmosphere lovely . Had another amazing meal at Lal Khazana tonight! I travel for work and eat curry all over the UK and feel truly thankful that I have these guys on my doorstep Great service from Mr Mir, always happy to chat with a friendly approach, I'm sure he's getting taller.... We had poppadum and pickle tray then Mel had Chicken Tikka Balti, I went for Bengali Sizzler, both were succulent and beautifully spiced! To accompany them we shared a garlic and coriander Nan and a tikka pilau which is so generously filled with tikka it would almost do for a meal on its own Pints of Cobra on draft along with a plethora of other drinks both Indian and British We can't wait for our Christmas Day sit down meal, an absolute snip at £40 a head when you consider other local restaurants serving traditional fayre are charging at least double and in some case triple that! Keep up the good work

Loving calm chilled setting already had food from take away but tried a meal tonight best thing I’ve ever done my birthday is Sunday so my and my partner thought we would celebrate a meal for my birthday last night Friday, ordered pickle tray, popadoms, 2 chicken chat starters garlic and coriander nan, garlic chips, garlic rice, chicken korma, and a chicken tikka masala, 4 glasses of wine 4 double vodkas which were more than generous, a couple drinks on the house for my birthday in two days which I thought was a really nice gesture, already said best Indians I’ve ever had but last night it was the best Indian food that has ever passed my mouth out of any dish I’ve eaten and I’ve been to a lot of Indian take aways, definitely be back for for a meal in the future no doubt about as was one of the most favourite meals I’ve ever had!!!!

Really, really good. Super tasty and utterly delicious. I think that sums up the takeaway I had here very nicely. Probably one of the best Indians I have had and the friends that shared the meal were equally thrilled. It's maybe a bit out of the way in Shilbottle but it is definitely worth travelling to. The restaurant looked very comfortable and the premises looked well maintained and clean. The car park was pretty full and according to some people who were waiting for their food, it is always pretty busy. Also, they said, the food is consistently good. All round, I would highly recommend.

Have eaten at this restaurant for the third time tonight as we were on holiday in the area once again. The staff are always friendly and obliging and the food is great! We've had a take away before and the quality is no different from the food we ate tonight. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Visiting the area with pets so could only have takeaway, but seems like a really pleasant venue and the food we had was great. Staff have a good rapport with their customers and make an effort to engage with younger visitors too. Will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

The lamb biryani was the best with really tender pieces of lamb and plentiful. The chips were homemade chunky chips which was a welcome change from the usual frozen fries. Naan were so fluffy and tasty, the best we've had in a long time. Good choice of drinks and really reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit

The service in this place is exceptional staff is so friendly and helpful. The starters and the side dishes are amazing including the mains all brilliantly cooked and freshly made! 🔥 the food comes out boiling hot. The lamb is so tender and good quality would definitely recommend it.

This local Indian restaurant is an absolute gem! The chicken tikka is brilliantly flavorful, tender, and perfectly spiced. I have a Cobra beer while it’s beeing cooked when I’m taking away. The standout, though, is the fantastic staff – they’re not just friendly but truly invested in helping you pick the perfect dish tailored to your taste. They’ll adapt a dish to your taste. Whether you’re a spice lover and want naga chilli or prefer something milder, they’ve got you covered for sure!! A top spot for an authentic and enjoyable dining experience!

This Indian is a must visit if you are ever in the area (or even worth a special visit from afar). They serve some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten, and thats saying something. Both the takeaway menu and the restaurant menu are astonishingly good and well priced, as well as being bountiful quantities We have been coming here ever since we moved to Shilbottle 5 years ago and find it difficult to go anywhere else The staff are always so amazing and tentative and they are a real credit to the Restaurant as well as the local area

O this indian is incredible and very cheap for what you get. We had a takeaway and it was superb, especially enjoyed the chicken tikki garlic chilli. £30 for 2 curries, 2 rice and a side. I would return here again and again.

I have only got takeaway from this place once and I have no complaints. The closest to a complaint would be I expected a bit more meat in my Chicken Madras, but it was okay. The food was definitely nice, but I feel like it's been a bit overrated by some of the other reviews. I really was expecting something a bit special from some other reviews and what I got was just decent.

I love the staff here, they are so friendly and the owner is a lovely character. I've been twice, both times the food was amazing. I had an amazing Biryani but the Makhani, I think it was, was a beautiful sweet flavour dish. The service was top quality, even with a large audience of some demanding guests.

Nicest indian restaurant I have ever been to. The staff are lovely, pleasant and attentive. Huge portions and the naan bread alone is worth coming back for. The kids really loved it too!
