We’ve just had dinner at Mumbai. The staff were attentive and welcoming and the food was out of this world. I had the Mumbai fish curry and it was on a par with any fish curry I have eaten at the Taj hotel in Mumbai itself. I shall certainly dine there again next time I’m in Alnwick. And I would highly recommend Mumbai to anyone looking for a first rate Indian meal.

We visited this lovely place late on 12/4/24. It was really busy and we hadn't booked but the team made sure we had a table seated us very quickly. The service was fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us, very friendly! The food was on another level, being a family of curry lovers we've eaten out in many Indian resterants, but none of them even come close the the diverse menu at Mumbai. We were able to try a number of new dishes that we absolutely loved including a peanut butter one which was a huge hit! The chicken chat pure was delicious, the naan breads cooked to perfection and they even gave us a Tarka dhal on the house which was lovely! Honestly couldn't reccomend it enough, will definatley be visiting again when we come this way! Thank you

Visited Mumbai Flavours for an evening meal on the 7th April. We had an evening meal and the food was excellent. This restaurant is easy to find in the town centre of Alnwick. The staff provide excellent service. There is seating upstairs and downstairs. Recommended.

The food and service is always fantastic. We live in Alnwick and feel very lucky to have this place on our door step. Highly recommend.

My birthday treat organised by my wife as I entered my 70th year was for us and our son to dine at Mumbai Flavours. She had told them that it would be my birthday. We had a lovely such a lovely welcome and wishing me a happy birthday. The staff were so attentive! Above all, the food was truly delicious. I especially recommend the choices listed under "Mumbai Dishes". The prices are also very reasonable. I cannot recommend them enough. Enjoy!

We live in Leicestershire and Leicester is known for its great Indian restaurants. Mumbai Flavours Alnwick is the best Indian food I have ever had

The onion bhajis were good. The main course I had however was truly shocking. Methi mint. Lamb cooked perfectly. The sauce could not taste mint and the amount of ghee used meant the plate was overflowing with the ghee, actually running off the side of the plate. Revolting. The sauce actually tasted of very little at all. Ate the lamb and binned the rest. This was a take away. Won’t use again.

Best Indian food ever, stumbled across this restaurant during a visit to Alnwick. The food and service were fantastic with all the staff being welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian cuisine.

Lovely friendly staff,very happy to cater for my wife's extensive food allergies,without affecting the quality of the food. We can thoroughly recommend the coconut chilli Ceylon and the Dansak and the onion bahjis...all delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning the next time we're in Alnwick.

Banging takeaway food. Thoroughly enjoyed the unique chicken pakora starter. We ordered lamb and prawn dishes and the meat in all of the dishes was perfectly cooked. Lovely, friendly, efficient service. As occasional visitors from Gateshead we will back. Thank you!!!

Delicious food and superb service.

Service was impeccable! Treated very nicely and really appreciated our time there. Food recommendations were lovely - enjoyed the chicken bhuna, chicken pakora and samosas especially! Wasn’t a huge fan of the onion bhaji but everything else was truly impeccable. Good veggie options too :)

Went in to see if they had a table for 2 and was told abruptly that if i didn't have a bookig there was no chance , manager needs to learn how to talk to people would not recommend this restaurant.

We were visiting the area on holiday and found this to be a fantastic Indian takeaway. Food was really delicious, would highly recommend. The lamb and mixed grill were especially good.

Went as a party of 6 (including 2 kids) and the customer service was outstanding, catered for the kids by asking if they would like a milder version too. The atmosphere is great, a perfect mix of well decorated but still feeling relaxed. The art wall upstairs gives a great vibe Everry dosh that came (biryani, chicjen tikka, makhane, naan, veg tikka masala) were some of the best curries we have had, good veg selection and all in all more than worthy of a fove-star review

We visited on a Sunday night. It was quiet, but we were so impressed with our visit. The food was delicious, very tasty, but unfortunately we couldn’t finish it all! The staff were friendly and super helpful, chatting about other things that we could do in the area while we were here. Would definitely visit again.

Superb food, some options very different from normal Indian restaurant fare, in a very good way. I had the coconut chilli king prawn with nut rice and a peshwari naan. It was delicious, and whilst hot, a great balance of flavours. Service was great, and thankfully the restaurant manager/owner persuaded us to stay when we walked in at 7pm and the room was empty. 5 minutes later, it was full and a great atmosphere. Fully recommend.

Absolutely lovely take-away meal bought on 3.11.23. We had a lamb naga bhuna and a lamb Rogan Josh they were so tasty. Will definitely be going back for more meals on the future.

It was very busy but they cheerfully found a table for us and our waiter Francois was prompt and efficient. And the food was to die for - wonderful flavours, just perfect. A most enjoyable experience.

From walking through the door, dripping wet in the torrential rain, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They sorted a table out for us even though we hadn’t booked and we were soon munching tasty popadoms with tasty dips. I had the sweet chicken badami and my partner had the chicken and spinach. Both dishes were superb and very filling. Service was 5 star and very pleasant. Well worth a visit if you’re in Alnwick.

Day two of my Alnwick stay. This is the best Indian I have consumed, and I have been to many Indian restaurants. The food tasted amazing, with a very generous portion size. Just brilliant.

We popped in for dinner, and we were met by friendly welcoming staff. There was a good knowledge of allergy friendly meals, with all menu items clearly labelled. I felt very confident ordering my gluten-free meal. We very much enjoyed our meal, it's a shame we're visiting Alnwick and can't visit more often. I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious, good value for money, meal.

Warmly recommend this place!! The food quality was excellent, and the service super friendly. Vegetable rhogan (available as vegan) was wonderfully rich and well balanced, and the onion and pepper jalfrezi was very fiery and warming. Different take on samosa, served with chickpea curry, also v nice.

We are from Yorkshire and are lucky to be able to enjoy delicious curries quite often. But this was probably one of the best curries we have ever had. The service was also impeccable. The restaurant has just had a refurb, we are talking dark blues and copper tones teamed with silver elephants and a colourful mural. A delight for the eyes. If you are in Northumberland, I recommend this gem, but you might want to book!

I visit here at least once a week for a take out. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the prices very reasonable.

Lovely restaurant, we booked a few day's stay in Alnwick. We had actually booked the meal on the Sunday but changed our plans, we rung up and they managed to squeeze us in on the Saturday. The reviews were favourable we weren't disappointed, delicious meal, prices were good, staff lovely and attentive, food timings great, ambience spot on so happy days.

We arrived when the restaurant opened, but in about half an hour, downstairs was full. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The food was superb. My husband said it was the best biryanni he'd ever had. The menu is not over complicated, but there's something to suit everyone. We could not fault any of the evening. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

A very impressive 'curry house' in the centre of delightful Alnwick. My wife and I had a fantastically tasty meal there before a trip to Alnwick Playhouse. The starters were excellent. The main courses even better! My advice is to go for the Chicken Coconut Chilli Ceylon....it was the best curry I've had for years, and I live near Bradfird (the so called home of the curry in Britain). The service was perfect. I will be hoing back...my only problem is how to break away from this most delightful dish.

Delicious food! Very friendly service too and good amount of timings between courses etc. We love a curry any day of the week, but this was one of the best we've had. Very flavoursome and just the right portions. My partner had mixed kebab starter and korma main, I had spicy king prawn puri and the coconut chilli ceylon. We then tried the rice pudding and gulab which we delicious too! Definitely recommend and whenever we're nearby again, we will be back.

We ate at Mumbai this week, following a visit to Alnwick … and were absolutely delighted! Pickle tray had the usual things, but somehow tasted better than usual. Then I ordered Lamb Saag … one of my favourites, but often disappointed due to the poor quality of the meat. Not at Mumbai! It was SO tender and flavoursome… it just fell apart! No hidden gristle or fat. And the sauce was delightful. My husband had Chicken madras, and his comment was ‘brilliant’ ! The service was outstanding without being ‘in your face’ and the value ? Tremendous. Looking forward to a return visit in the future!

Food was good but the service left a little bit to be desired. Waited nearly 15 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted a drink. We also wanted to order slightly off menu and the waiter said no. All in all we were disappointed.

We had a takeaway from here on our trip to Alnwick and I can safely say it was the best meal we had (including eating in restaurants nearby). Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly lady who took my order and advised a 15-20 min wait, which I always think is a good sign. Sat in a comfy waiting area. The inside of the restaurant looked nice and everything was spotlessly clean. Food was delicious and excellent value for money. If we were staying longer I’d have gone more than once. Highly recommended. I love good curry and have tried many takeaways over the years throughout the U.K. - this is easily in my top 5. Shame it isn’t closer to home!

First time visit, the wonderful aromas draw you in. Had a little wait for a table, which is a good sign of a busy restaurant. Very attentive staff. My food starter was Ashtifari Fish with a lovely chilli dipping sauce, followed by Tandoori Chicken Tikka sizzler, mushroom rice and garlic naan. Very lovely.

The best curry I've ever had, I can't praise Mumbai more than that. All 3 of us at the table gave our meals 10/10. One of the best if not the best curry’s I have ever had. Was visiting family, and the staff were more than happy to accommodate dietary requirements. Would return again and would recommend this restaurant to anybody who is after excellent Indian food.

A great gem, 5 minutes from the castle in walking distance, down one of the quaintest little roads in Alnwick. Good was great, service was amazing and a great ambiance.

Found this little gem last June for my partner’s birthday, we live in Yorkshire and came up this way for a few days, Loved the food then, and it just got better this year, the food was superb, the service was excellent, even the manager...

As we’re from West Yorkshire, where curry is king, we usually get a bit anxious about going for a curry when we’re on our travels, as we’ve had some dodgy ones before. But we were blown away by our meal at Mumbai of Alnwick. The flavours were amazing - rich and subtle, not just a load of ingredients thrown together. Manager was a top guy and made us feel very welcome and all the staff were great. Décor is cool too. All round great experience. My only regret is that I didn’t get a starter too. We’ll definitely be calling in here again if we’re ever back in Northumberland.

This was the best curry I have had in a long time. It was absolutely fantastic. The lamb was so tender in the Naga curry. Four of us ate there and all of us were extremely happy with what we ordered. The Owner and staff are fantastic too. Really friendly and very attentive. I would definitely recommend and would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Easy 5 star. Fitted us in Sunday night despite being busy. Lamb Saag had deep flavour spicing in the sauce with very soft lamb and a good sized portion of vegetable pilau along side. Partner's Tandoori Chicken was tastily cooked and crisp on the outside while still soft on the inside.

This restaurant is exceptional. Every aspect makes for an enjoyable experience. From attention to detail, pleasantness and friendliness of efficient staff together with quality food are outstanding. We have never tasted such tender lamb anywhere in an Indian restaurant.
