Hired them as caterers for my sons first holy communion party, for approximately 60 people. They were very helpful, and knowledgeable, and guided me with quantities of food required. The food was really good, everyone loved the food, and there was very little excess left! I would highly recommend them.

If you've not been to Goa but heard about the place, people and food, or if you're a Goan or someone who is nostalgic for traditional, delicious Goan Cuisine, you must try Liv's Takeaway. Their menu boasts of a wide-range of Goan, Indian & Speciality appetisers, mains and desserts. I've tried their dishes several times, and each experience was fantastic. My favourite dishes are the sannas and sorpotel, vindaloo, chutney sandwiches, croquettes, xacuti, and caramel pudding. In addition to takeaways, they do catering for parties and events too. Besides the food, Michael, Cefona and their family are some of the loveliest Goans in Manchester. Bom Apetite!

I've been meaning to try this place for a while. I ordered a takeaway for four, including butter chicken, mutton biryani amongst other dishes. I was definitely not disappointed. The food was delicious, one of the best Indian meals I've ever had, seriously . Every single one of my guests said the same. Im planning to try every dish on the menu (not in the same night)😂 Highly recommended.

Had the opportunity to order from Liv's Takeaway & Caterers Manchester who were happy to courier the order for next day delivery to Edinburgh, Scotland. Food arrived well packed and was fresh. Kingfish balchao was very tasty and authentic. Sorpotel gives one the Goan taste right here in UK. Other items were good and happy with the service. Lovely friendly goan couple from Goa and would definitely recommend. If you're unsure what to order, give them a quick ring and you'll not be left disappointed!

The Goan food served here is amazing. The taste is authentic Goan. The fish thali is really tasty. The fish fry is very delicious. The family who operate the takeaway is very humble. I would definitely recommend this takeaway joint if you are looking for Goan Food.

Hands down the best authentic goan food I've tried in the UK. The dishes will remind you of home like no other. Very reasonably priced, and totally worth the 2 hours drive. Will definitely be ordering more soon.

Loved the food from Livs takeaway. Definitely worth the long drive and I must say the flavours took us back to Goa. The fish platter is to die for and reasonably priced too . Each bite of food brings back memories of home - the choris pao to going to old Goa for St Francis Xavier’s feast , the croquettes to spending time with your grandparents and curry’s to celebrating feasts with friends and family . Thank you Cefona and Michael who are very genuine people and let the food do all the talking . Will definitely be going there again.

I have been meaning to write a review, I recently tried for the first time, I was absolutely amazed by how brilliant the food was! I had the paneer and it was unbelievably tasty, the rice and bread were delicious too and I honestly couldn't believe I live just down the road and have only just discovered this place! Being originally from Goa and living as an expat here in the UK.. I do miss authentic Goan food like the kind my Mama and Nana prepared. I was so excited, when I discovered Liv's takeaway and quickly placed an order over the phone. It was so good to work with Michael and Cef.. The food was prepared meticulously, and skillfully.. So much of attention to detail and lots of care. As I type this I am on the M53 making my way to collect another order of all the glorious Goan food from them and feel truly so blessed to find them.. Such an authentic experience! I relished my San as, Goan chorizo... The sorpotel was exactly like my Nana's and I teared up having it as it got back so many fond childhood memories.. Called here after dropping family off at Manchester airport on way back to Leeds. I had read all the excellent reviews . This is not the normal run of the mill takeaway it is totally different. It’s South Indian food done to the highest standard. I have eaten regularly at theravadu in Leeds which I would say is a good comparison. The food there is excellent but this surpasses it . We had 2 chicken Currys both completely different to each other with naan breads and rice . Both with amazing flavors I have not experienced before . I will be driving over again very soon despite the distance for me .

We live nearby so decided to buy a selection of their food to share with family and friends. It was delicious so fresh and tasty full of flavor, everyone really enjoyed it and were very impressed. Would highly recommend you try it.

As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised how delicious everything was. Full of flavour and such a great find here in Manchester. I had ordered the egg curry along with the mushroom xacuti and loved both. The portions are also generous so would highly recommend to people who want to try goan food or just want to be reminded of back home. The couple and their family were also extremely sweet and welcoming. Will 100% order again.

We got some food catered for a small party..the food was excellent. It brought back memories of Goa. It was just like my Mum’s (who is a very good cook). So that’s a big compliment. Would definitely recommend them for authentic Goan food.

My husband was following them since quite a while after they won the award for the best takeaway , so we tried the food today with our friends, we drove all the way to Manchester from Leicestershire. Michael and his wife was so welcoming. The food was so delicious 😋 & authentic. Remembered our good old goan days. Both of them are very down to earth people. I would really recommend their place to visit as the food, and especially the owners are very good . Their hospitality really touched my heart. Bless them and do support you won’t regret what u get.

Hugely appreciate the fact that they went out of the way to cook for me, even though it wasn't a business day. Not only that, the food is a different standard, perfectly seasoned and spiced. You need to get on this before it becomes a chain restaurant.

Michael is an all in all genuine Goan foodie and his food surely is a representation of that, came to Manchester and had a few traditional Goan dishes tested and they gave me a taste of goa..

Very good meal cooked fresh. Got a variety of dishes and loved them all. The sea bream was lovely as was the mutton.

The most fresh food that has ever come with a takeaway

Very friendly service and cheap prices. I had the mutton curry, meat was nice, sauce was a bit tasteless and had water that hadn't been cooked out of the sauce. Beef croquettes were also a bit tasteless. Onion bhajis were nice but again lacking any real depth of flavour. Very nice rice, I can only assume it was cooked in a rice cooker. Naan was OK, a bit small and a bit stodgy, and not light n crisp. Maybe warmed in a microwave. Overall it was OK but just no spice bursting around my mouth as expected. Not too sure about best takeaway in Manchester.

Nice food , very friendly people

Me and my partner tried the Masala fried pomfret, Recheado pork chop, mutton Xacuti, and Goan stew dishes plus the beef croquettes for starters. All the food was nicely packaged in microwave friendly containers and easy to reheat. Every dish was very tasty, the meat melted in your mouth and fell off the bone easily. I would recommend trying the food here if you like Indian cuisine.

this was def the best food i have tasted. I had the chicken briyani and it was super good. At first I thought there was no chicken but it was under the rice。the chicken had the perfect amount of flavour and bone, it was not too juicy but not to hard. I will eat this again it was like a food dream!!

Just had the butter curry with rice, it was lovely, I wish I would of got a nan bread to mop up the sauce.

I had the absolute pleasure of being a guest at Michael and Cefona's home for dinner. My friends and I wanted to taste the food since we were considering hiring Liv's takeaway for my wedding. After trying the food, we 100% are going for them. All the dishes were authentically Goan, exactly the sort of food I remember eating on holiday trips to Goa in my childhood. Croquettes, Mutton Xacuti, Cafreal Chicken, Pork Vindaloo, Fish Caldinha, and Chorisou Pilau(my favourite). Blasting with flavour and unapologetically delicious. I thoroughly recommend Liv's take-away if you want a break from generic Indian food and want to try real Indian food! I must say, not only was the food excellent but Michael and Cefona are among the most genuine, kindest people I've ever met. They literally made space in their home for us to dine in. We were all like one big family, chatting and laughing the night away. They even gave us Tendli pickles and Bibik on the house as we were leaving! Thank you for adding another happy memory to our wedding days.

That was delicious my mum who hates any kind of indian spices or cuisine even loved the prawn parcels she ended up nicking one of me haha and them onion bajis are the best onion bajis i have had and the mutton curry was just the right spice will be back for sure

It’s the second time I’ve visited in the past couple of months. I can honestly say, it’s the best curry I’ve tasted, genuinely, it’s just absolutely marvellous. The Bajis, the biriyani, the chapati’s, just utterly tremendous. You’d be a fool not to try it, ring up and get your orders in before it goes to the stratosphere! I’ll be back again next week for more.

What can I say other than WOW. It’s just a eating experience you can’t miss out on. The flavours are just different and so much more varied than your average curry. This is GOAN! Long live Livs, Blackley and Manchester’s finest..

Was so excited to try this’ took 45 mins to get the food even though l confirmed 3 times but the politeness counts for everything. I’m used to South Indian food’ especially eating konkani food regularly. The biryani was good’ the prawns and mushroom curry’s were cold & mildly undercooked…maybe be wise of the waiting’ as was the fish which the masala was fried on like a coat it should be more mild. I certainly want to try again and hope I get the flavours I have tried before. Very very friendly and welcoming.

After reading the very complimentary review in the Manchester Evening News, and purely on a whim, I drove the 8 miles from my home to Liv's, met Michael, ordered a chicken biryani, went away for 30 minutes while it was being prepared; returned to collect it and arrived home to enjoy one of the tastiest and spiciest biryanis I've had in a very long time. Well worth the trip and highly recommended. I'll be back.

It is very difficult to find authentic Indian food outside of India or an Indian's home. Not sure what happens but commercially prepared Indian food outside of India most often just doesn't hit the spot. I am happy to say Liv's is authentic Goanese cuisine and it is very good. I would suggest ordering a little in advance. Highly recommended.

I had ordered doce for my godchild’s christening. Amazing service. I got it the next day after ordering. The doce was nice and fresh with pink and white heart shaped edibles. Most importantly, the doce was still fresh on the christening day as well. Thank you for the efforts you put in.
