The Dosa, while decent, might not impress if you're a South Indian expecting the traditional taste and texture. It's good but doesn’t quite live up to the authentic South Indian dosa experience. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for its standout Indo-Chinese starters, chaats, and especially the diverse and delicious momos.

The chicken noodles is simply the best dish ever. The chef worked at the Taj Mumbai and his dishes are Michelin star. Forget every other Resturant you have eaten in try this place.

We turned up on a busy evening and the staff were under a lot of pressure, but the food was brilliant and the service was ok. There were a lot of takeaway delivery drivers coming and going and it felt like they those orders were taking priority, rather than sit in diners. Interesting/tasty veggie options.

Durbar Square offers a truly authentic Nepalese dining experience. I have been here a few times & yet they manage to impress me every time This time, i went for newly introduced dal bhat with chicken curry. It was a flavorful delight with all the traditional sides. The staff was warm and knowledgeable, making the meal even more enjoyable. If you're looking to explore Nepalese cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

Customer Service has long died. But not here. I actually got my autopilot smile returned by everyone of the Kathmandu staff except the blonde girl who looked at me like smiling and being nice was weird. That nearly made me leave. They gave me exactly what I ordered and the food was amazing. Will go again but will avoid the sad blonde 👱‍♀️ 😔 😄

Amazing little place, family run and it shows. Tasty food and good prices. The lamb keema and the momos are fantastic, as well as all the sauces they prepare. We’ll be coming back for sure!

Durbar Square was recommended to us as being somewhere special. It didn't disappoint. Top quality Nepalese and South Indian food all freshly prepared and cooked and served by really friendly and helpful staff. This newly opened eaterie deserves to be a great success and the place to go for all who love this cuisine.

I've eaten in, taken out and had the finest butter chicken on earth delivered. Always a great experience!

Bombay potato not as nice as nice as usual.

Visited with a couple of friends yesterday evening. The restaurant is lovely & the staff were fantastic. One of the best curries I've ever had. Fantastic!

Never in my life am I going there again. They messed up my order by giving us a chicken momo instead of veggie. Refused to fix it, and stated there was no staff there to fix it (clear lies). Starting laughing and taking badly about us in Nepali (not knowing we understand the language) ended the call on top of that as well with no warning. Disgusting behaviour and customer service. Clearly not taking notes of order as if it was allergies or something it could become deadly. Wouldn’t recommend at all

Absolutely delicious foods and good atmosphere. The staffs are so lovely. Nice family run business. Was so busy but still staffs mange to take care of everyone. Had such a good meal after so long. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit. Our new favorite go to place.

Just had the most delightful meal for 2. The whole sea bass was perfectly cooked with a variety of delicious curries. The Himalayan lamb was flavourful and melted in my mouth. The sweetness of the Peshwari naan was the perfect accompaniment for our mains. Loved the pani puri that we had for starter also, light and refreshing. The whole meal including wine was excellent and very good value. Can’t wait to have our next meal here again!

My first experience of Nepalese cuisine and i thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a mix of different dishes for starters and mains and they were all very tasty. Very friendly staff. Worth a visit

We loved the food over here. He had lamb nalli nihari, she puri, dahi puri, prawn shezwan rice, chicken Momos, chilli chicken. Everything was great.

Family owned by lovely folk from Kathmandu. Many Indian dishes on the menu, presumably cos Brits are familiar with these dishes. We had amazing momu (dumplings) platter and chicken biryani. The parata breads are flaky and freshly made. All the food is served piping hot. I would say the dishes are on the spicy end

He was so generous to provide us MOMO for free to taste as well. Impressed with the quantity and quality of the food. Went there with my wife and friends. Everyone had a very nice. Time. Very bad experience. We booked a table looking at the reviews. They allowed a dog into the dining area. This needs to be notified to the council and food and hygiene department. We are allergic to dogs and this dog just came over to the table and was jumping around without a leash while we were eating. Had to leave the table with food on it after paying the bill. It was really a bad experience. The lady who was serving was not even bothered to wash her hands when she came to serve as she was petting the dog all the while. I suggest you avoid this restaurant if you are allergic to dogs.

We've taken all our friends and family here and everyone is always blown away, the food is absolutely incredible and the service is wonderful. I feel so confident recommending it to everyone I know. The Methi Mutter Malai is a real crowd pleaser.

As always the food was magnificent. My only minor problem was that the order was initially incomplete. We had ordered 2 Butter Chickens (delicious ) but only got one and dips were missing from the poppadoms. A quick phone call and this was corrected in 15 mins with profuse apologies and a free beer. Still the best subcontinent food I’ve had and is consistently so. We’ve ordered many times and will be ordering again.

Fabulous place...food is delicious and the staff/management are so friendly, fabulous atmosphere and art work / decor...There is such a good variety of Indian/Nepalese cuisine on the menu.. We always try at least one dish we haven't tried before and always turns out great! This place is truly a hidden Gem!

We had dinner and food was very good. Non veg platter is worth to buy. On main road of Barlowmoor road. Parking on road. Cash and card payments accepted. All India food , napalese Chinese etc available here.

Not only is this the best Nepalese restaurant in Manchester. This is undoubtedly the best south Asian food I have had in Manchester. It is also good value for money when compared to competitors.

Smaller dip pots this time. Couldn't dip the cracked poppadoms in them, such a shame

Really lovely place. Amazing food with lots of choice. Cooked fresh to perfection. Super family run establishment and the staff couldn’t do enough to make sure we had the best experience. I would recommend this super eatery without hesitation and we will be returning customers.

Ordered food to be delivered . then was called up to say they don't deliver. I was very disappointed I have food from this restaurant loads of time . So very hard for me to give a bad review.

As a Nepalese, Momos being one of our favourite food and finding all the different types of momos in one platter was the absolute dream come true. We absolutely loved the momo platter. It was authentic. Atmosphere was cosy. All the food prices were reasonable. Excellent communication from the staff and the owner was really friendly. We will visit again. We were really please. Definitely recommended. We will be back soon.

The chilli veggie monos were fantastic and a really good level of spice. The durbar speciality curries were so yummy. Everything was just really freshly and beautifully cooked!!! Best curry in the UK so far for sure.

Don’t bother with this place. I’m not one for leaving reviews but this place was terrible. Had to ask 5 times to get drinks we ordered, over 1.5 hours to get our main course to arrive. Worst chole I ve been served in a restaurant, completely bland and tasteless. Dosa was reasonable size but potatoes and sambar portions were tiny, so they were gone and half the dosa was still left to eat. Avoid this place.

We had a brilliant takeaway from Durbar Square, a mix of traditional dishes and some of the indo-Chinese specials. Great value for money too, will definitely be returning.

Excellent Nepalese food from a friendly family owned restaurant. So many amazing dishes to pick from, lamb chops, Jhol Momo (which I would happily eat every day), Dosa's and many fantastic curry dishes.

Delicious food! Live round the corner from Durbar and have eaten in the restaurant a couple of times. Delivery is just as good! 5 stars 😄

Wow . From start to finish we had an amazing meal here . A warm welcome , super service , friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and well decorated. A vast choice of food for all tastes and preferences. Open Kitchen so you can see the food being cooked . Cannot complain about 1 single thing . Fresh , well prepared , homemade ,tasty, hot food . Can’t wait to take a bigger crowd with us so they can see how good this place is.

Once again enjoyed the best subcontinent meals in South Manchester. The butter chicken is to die for. To make it absolute perfection could you possibly offer onion bhaji as a starter?

Popped in not knowing at all what to expect! Menu was extensive, loads of options and lots for veggies and vegans too which was great. Took me so long to decide what I wanted as all looked so nice. Had a paneer masala, a fresh salad and samosa chat. Was really lovely and the service was great. Would recommend for a nice meal in Didsbury! Really reasonable too :) thanks

Had an excellent takeaway experience here recently but eating in was not so great. Booked table for 8.30 but not convinced a table had been saved for us as we were put near the door so it was freezing as no-one closed the door properly. Maybe waiting staff were tired as it was late for them, but they weren't too alert. I arrived before my husband and I was given menus & offered a drink quickly - that was good. But then I was brought a drink I hadn't ordered and had to confirm that several times. I was asked several times if I wanted poppadoms, and several times more once my husband arrived, even though we said 'no thank you' each time. My drink came with ice I'd requested not to have. The menu for vegan options is unclear. There are several veg dishes I knew were probably vegan but weren't marked. The waiter was insistent that some dishes, like tadka dhal and ɓhajis, were impossible to make vegan though I've had them many times in other restaurants. My masala dosa, which was clearly marked vegan, came with a yoghurt dressing in one of the tray sections. I was happy just to leave it, but the waiter was going to replace the whole tray, even though I'd already transferred everything over to my plate! The meal was actually ok, and my husband enjoyed his lamb bhuna, but I could have done without the debate with the waiter and would prefer a menu where ALL vegan dishes are clearly marked appropriately and all those are served as vegan (or 'can be made vegan'). Many people are long-term vegans these days. All restaurants should take this seriously. I had no problems like this when I came for my takeaway.

Went there tonight on a whim and glad I did, food was great ( even gave me a doggy bag as I couldn't finish what I ordered). Cody was my waiter and he excelled in his service. Will be going again

Went after seeing the good reviews. Ordered momos platter for our starter and the steamed momos were raw, with uncooked dough and chicken raw and pink in the middle. The main curries were 5/10. Staff, however were friendly and welcoming. Kept on apologising for the raw food. It's not really the waiters fault. If I didn't cut open the momo and see the filling inside, probably throwing up right now with food poisoning. Hopefully kitchen staff don't make this mistake again. They were kind enough to take the bombay potatoes off our bills though lol 🤷‍♀️

I've lived around the corner for a year before I tried it here, and can't believe I didn't do it sooner. Staff were great and friendly, and the food was amazing. Even down to the poppadom sauces, which are a level above most other Indians. The butter chicken was the best I've ever had.

We came across this little place quite by accident as we were staying nearby. Given the excellent reviews we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed! The vegetarian food we ate was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were very warm and welcoming. We would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Our first meal when we reached England. Initially I was thinking of trying another eatery but unfortunately that was closed during lunch, but I have no regret dining at Durban Square. We enjoyed the lunch, love the Palak Paneer, butter chicken, Shank lamb. In fact we loved everything that we ordered.

This Nepalese rest doing something great and it’s not by chance. Family business cooking food with love and welcoming its costumers as if you were at their home. My recommendations are Lamb Nalli Nehari, momos and Gobi Manchuran

Yes! I'm back again at FABULOUS Durbar Square West Didsbury. This time with a brilliant group of lovely friends for a pre-Halloween, indulgent, Nepalese feast! What better way to console ourselves in these darkening days and long, pre-solstice nights than with scrumptious food and plenty of wine! I have reviewed this restaurant more than once previously, but this time was different. We were a larger group and so now I can recommend Durbar Square not just for regular, culinary outings but for your Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas, Chanukkah and New Year sparkling nights out where you are fielding a Big Team of Family and Friends. The communications during the planning stage with Angela were excellent; professional, pleasant and reassuring. On the night, the Team - Angel, Hemanta and Tej and Chefs Homnath, Deep and Amir - looked after us spectacularly well. I guess I should mention the food too ... (Laughing emoticon!) As always utterly delicious with well co-ordinated, well timed service given the larger numbers. I shall be back again soon wining, dining and reviewing. Watch this space!

Popped in here for some food last night. Popadoms we’re served with some amazing sauces and the food was largely really good. I had the Masala Dosa which I’ve seen many places serve with the potato already on the inside which I do generally prefer however it was still really nice and and it let me choose how I wanted it. My only disappointment was the Samosa chaat. It was very dry with not too much sauce - I think it works really well when it’s served with chickpeas which this one wasn’t. Maybe that’s just my preference? Next time I go I think I’ll try a thali

Went for a curry last night with 7 work pals and we all raved about this place. First time we've been and will be going back. Great tasting food. Always a good sign when the lamb is good and it was class. Can't fault it at all.

Ordered using “Just eat” to pick up. Got there and the food wasn’t ready, notified them we were there waiting. We waited and waited and waited then when we asked “is it ready?” they were asking what we wanted. We were polite and wanted to cancel the order and the attitude, save one waitress, was the most rude and appalling I’ve seen. Never going back there again. Ever

I had ordered chicken hakka noodles but instead I got butter chicken curry and rice. I am so disappointed this time. Hope it doesn't happen again. I can't even get a refund to order again.

We tried this place for the first time about 3 weeks ago. The customer service was awesome. Their food was good but I just felt that my Chicken Tikka Masala was too spicy for my palate. It might just be subjective as I'm not really good with spicy food so maybe just request your level of spice tolerance when you order if it can be requested to be less spicy. However, their chutneys with the papadoms were lovely! We even requested to take away the remaining chutneys but the lovely lady gave us a fresh batch. Great value for money too! Would recommend that you try this place! :)

Tuesday 26th September 2023 My wife and myself went for dinner at the Durbar. We were greeted by Hemant with a huge smile who showed us to the table And went through the menu. The food we ordered was perfectly presented and was excellent very freshly cooked. Ive had many Niharis this one was the best. We will be definatly returning. Excellent Service and Excellant Food . Visited sunday 24th we had drove from Congleton in Cheshire as we had heard good reviews and it didn’t disappoint our waiter was so helpful and recommended dishes for us food was amazing so flavourful , loved the open kitchen, dumplings were delicious and butter chicken was the best we have had, will definitely be returning would highly recommend, small family run business serving fantastic food.

Excellent food, butter chicken is incredible. I even asked for some mango chutney for the poppadoms (best ever) and they gave us a pot extra. It is lovely food and the temperature of the food was perfect too. Will order again

Went for a meal with friends, about our 6th visit. Can't rate this restaurant highly enough. It is absolutely spotless, and the staff are all so friendly. Good choice of beer and wine.

I don’t usually leave a TA review but this is the best Nepalese meal that we’ve had for a long time. Fresh handmade light and fluffy Naan and the best Dahl Makhani. Brilliant new restaurant. We will be back!

This place has a lot of local competition but is the best there is. I think it because it has a real chef in the kitchen who cools with more finesse than is usually found. The menu is extensive, with a range of Nepali, South Indian, and 'new Indian' options, with a few traditional faves as well. The momo are freshly made in house, and even standards like tadaka daal and tandoori roti are very well done. I moved away, but have started going there every time I am back.

Brilliant restaurant, very authentic Nepalese and Indian food. Cutesy decorated! We ate a couple of dosas, the steamed momos, hobo Manchurian and paneer tikka. It was all delicious, best meal I’ve eaten in a while. Looking forward to recommending!

Very nice local place with great food and service

Wow, this place is a hidden gem! The food here is mind blowing. I’ve traveled to India and Nepal before and I can say Durbar Square is at a level like no other. You must try the Dahl Makhani with some Paratha bread, it’s amazing. The staff are so humble and lovely. I can’t wait to go back.

Talk about finding the Golden Goose on your doorstep! We are blessed with three great Nepalese restaurants in M20 but this niche newcomer is an absolute shining gem and our new "Go To" eaterie. In fact it's hard to stay away. The cuisine is exquisite. Utterly delicious. Sophisticated complex flavours with heat and spice for those who crave it. The presentation is exotic. The staff are professional, charming and considerate. The ambiance is relaxed with comfortable booths. So far we have dined out because we enjoy engaging with the staff and fellow diners but there is delivery and take-out too. Mouth wateringly scrumptious dining! This review is written with hesitation as I'm worried I'll now have to queue every time I visit!

Amazing ambience and food was impeccable! Great friendly service and the food was delicious and fresh- not heavy which is rare for an Indian restaurant. Couldn’t recommend here enough!
