The best curries I've ever had. I've been coming here for at least 15 years and the food is always top quality. The coriander chutney that you get with the popadoms is insanely good. The decor is what it is. I like the old school charm of it. A real traditional curry house that still prides itself on the quality of the food.

Everything was fine food wise but we were rushed. I hadn't finished the poppadoms and they brought out the starter then half way through them the main course came out. It was all to much of a rush.

Very delicious, atmosphere is very friendly and cosy. The food is phenomenal! We had the lamb chops and a curry with coconut which were delicious. They also have local Indian beer which really complemented the food.

Love this place. It's very small and it's a proper, traditional local curry house/tandoori restaurant. Yes, the decor is old-school but who cares? The food is excellent and very reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. There's a good range of the usual curries that people will recognise, but they also serve lots of specials that you don't necessarily see on a lot of other menus, which I can definitely recommend. My favourites are the gosht ka salaan and the 'Taste of Goa' which is a fantastic spicy king prawn curry. We go here every couple of months at least and we feel really luck to have it so close by!

If you have any dietary requirements it is not worth the risk to your health to eat here as allergens are not marked accurately and they do not understand the difference between the different allergens anyway. Two servers thought dairy and gluten were the same thing and items containing gluten on the menu where not marked with the gluten code. What is the point of having a coded system for marking allergens in menu items if you don't use it to indicate where those allergens are included. Restaurants and takeaways are required by law to tell customers if any of the main 14 food allergen ingredients are in the food they serve. They do not uphold their requirement of this law.

Having been recommended to visit by a colleague who lives locally, I found myself working solo in the area on a school night with time to spare and a summer appetite to banish above and beyond the trusty beefeater standby. Mr Ali’s didn’t disappoint. Served with diligence and alacrity, on a quiet Thursday night - I was still looked after as one would always expect. Cold beer, regularly replenished iced water, quality fresh meal ingredients, a keen and enjoyable response to my custom “Keema Bhuna” favourite request, and generous portion sizes - all in all, a superb experience. I shall be back!

We have been coming here for over 10 years. The decor could do with an update but the food is the best around. Always freshly prepared and tasty. Service is 5/5 and lovely cosy atmosphere.

Heard many times how great the food was meant to be here. Heard it is dated decor, doesn't look the nicest from outside etc but the food is fab. Well it definitely lived up to the food being fab! Nice welcoming entrance, staff friendly and service great. The curry was honestly the nicest I have had in a long time! The chicken tikka masala was my favorite, we had chicken rogan josh too. As for the decor.. yes it is dated BUT I liked the feel it gave! It is cosy and you kind of feel like you are back in the early 90s perhaps, gives it an experience that I think to all the people complaining about the decor are just too comfortable with modern day and can't appreciate old styles. Main thing is it is clean, great service and amazing curry!! Oh, also very reasonably priced!! Bill came to £42.50 for 6 pompadoms with 4 dips, x2 chips, x2 rice, x2 curries, 1 garlic naan, x2 beer and x2 coke!!

Mr Ali's is far and away the best Indian restaurant in Manchester. The food is second to none, always perfectly done with personal requirements catered for and the staff are such that we consider them friends. It's a wonderful friendly place that serves amazing food.

Came here based on TripAdvisor reviews. Warm welcome and offered drinks. We ordered a whole selection of curries. Took a while to arrive and they missed one order out but that was quickly rectified. All the curries tasted good. We were given extra rice for free. That was nice Service was excellent. Would definitely come back

We have been working around Manchester and needed a good Indian food treat. After ‘googling’, we looked on TA and saw the good reviews for this place and since we are staying in the a premier Inn over the road, we thought we would give it a try. What a treat! To the great welcome, the art work on the walls to the amazing food, we feel we have been treated. The food was gorgeous.....the poppadoms and dips, the starters and the mani meal itself were all scrumptious! At the end of our meals, after we asked for the bill, we were given a free Baileys and then!!!!, then!!!!! We were given the old fashioned, steaming flannels! Wow! We thought they were long gone! Visited Mr Ali's restaurant for my nephews birthday 2nd April 2018. The service, staff and of course the food was amazing. This is my 3rd visit in three years (my nephews favourite) but I would definitely come more often now ( just head to the gym the next day 😊). Lots to choose from but my favourite so far is the Keema dish and Keema naan. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and hospitable. 5***** from me 👌🏾.

Whilst visiting the area and reading reviews,we thought we would give Mr Ali's a try. We are both Vegetarian and quite picky, so went with an open mind. The staff were very friendly and helpful ,without going over the top.We were so pleased we booked as it was fully booked and that was at 6pm on a Sunday. The food was excellent,all of it.My husband even said it was the best he had ever eaten in this type of restaurant. We had veg Madras,peshwari nan,rice ect..and all was lovely. The dips ect.. that came with the poppadoms were so good too. Well done Mr Ali's. Wished i lived closer as i would be a regular!

Amazing food and great atmosphere, the staff always cater for little tweaks to the spice in your meal on request and the price is great for the quality you get. Continue to visit on a regular basis with family on friends as it’s the best curry house in the area.

Me and my boyfriend wanted to go out for a dinner and he suggested a curry. I wasn't a big fan of curry, but agreed to go and we found online Mr Ali's. Everything about the restaurant was great, since booking a table until the food and service. The restaurant is smaller than the ones we are used to go, but we felt at home there. The food was amazing, really tasty, fresh and, specially, not too spicy (the way I ordered). The service is great, all the guys working there checked if we were fine, suggested options of food and everything. We ate really well and paid a fair price for it. I would definitely recommend this place and for sure we will come back really soon.

We love this place , every time we come to Manchester we visit here . If we stay at The Premier Inn , Heaton Park this is just over the road .The staff in here are really good , food is amazing . If you like indian food this is the place to visit . Very reasonable price , not small portions either , this place has been here for many years , and it is a hidden gem .

Best food in town. It's like being in your family's front room. The food is plentiful and tasty. It's consistent and the staff are great. If you like Indian and you like traditional this is the place for you. The food is not your usual curry it's like being served a great Indian meal in the family home. Give it a try you will love it.

We have been coming to this restaurant for 24 years, it's one of the best cuisine in our area. Food outstanding every flavour is exquisite. The staff are the most friendly people you could wish to meet. Mukhtar who runs the restaurant is the best host you could wish for.

Went to this restaurant with a couple of friends. We were all satisfied with the food. It tasted good and portion sizes were reasonable.The menu, however, is somewhat limited and could do with a greater selection of vegetable dishes.

Lovely little restaurant. Only a few tables and very quaint in an old fashioned way. None of this is really important but what is important is that the service is friendly and the food is very good indeed. The menu is simple with a small number of specials and a range of traditional dishes. All the food we had was great - definitely a place worth a try

Mr Alis isn't amazing to look at but who cares when they serve the food that they do. Best curry house around you literally can't go wrong there! It's certainly worth a visit if you haven't been before you will never go anywhere else. Great lads who work in there always make you feel like your at home and can't do enough to help you.

Ate here last night and was really impressed, I had chicken tandoori jalfrezi and my boyfriend had chicken tikka vindaloo - we both enjoyed our meals and will definitely go again! Three lovely waiters and a nice atmosphere. Cheese and garlic naan and the bottle of red wine was also really nice, nice portion sizes and they keep the curries warm on the stove while you eat. Definitely recommend!

the food here is consistantly tasty. a lovely selection of specials which make this place stand head and shoulders above anywhwre else i know. the green dip served with popodoms is a highlight, to call it corriander sauce would give it a massive disservice. worth the trip alone

Located just on Middleton road, Mister Ali's is a very bespoke and traditional Indian restaurant. Greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere it makes you feel at home. The food is freshly prepared and arrives on hot plates, ensuring that the food you get is the food you deserve. I ordered the Kebab to start with followed by the lamb bhuna which was delicious. The lamb fell apart on your plate and was very tender. The peshwari nan was also a big hit. I would definitely come back here again and the waiters were very welcoming and always kept our drinks topped up. Great night and great food. George

Only had a takeaway from this restaurant, but warmly welcomed on arrival and just a 20 minute wait for a very good meal. In the main the food was good, albeit pretty standard stuff. The only gripe (a very minor one) is that the Garlic Chilli Chicken really needs to have rather more chilli in it. It was fairly warm, but not really chilli hot as most restaurants serve.

Dropped into Mr Ali's last night after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Very busy small homely restaurant. No table for half hour but was worth the wait. Advisable to book in advance. Meal was lovely and service was good. Decor a bit dated but don't let that put you off. Would highly recommend. Will definitely go back

Brilliant meal as usual, haven't been for 3 years or so. Magnificent lamb bhuna, keema began and lamb tikka vindaloo with rice and garlic naan. Three children loved it, I loved it and everyone treated us like old friends. Great to be back.

Due to the restaurant being local to myself (5 minute drive,) we decided to go out and celebrate here especially with its great reviews.Having tried many Indians and being extremely partial to one for a meal I was overall impressed with the food which is easily 4 star on its on with a great selection, what lets this restaurant down is it is very run down (Paint peeling, dated décor and could do with revamp on menu.) Regards to the service this was average nothing tailored to individual but food was correct and drinks were served but since their was only 2 tables in I would have liked couple of suggestions on food, considering it was our first time eating here and it would've match great service with great food.Overall with some love to the inside & outside of this restaurant and just few small tweaks this could easily be a outstanding gem of Indian, as final note I would happily go back for quick meal on weekday evening with price and food quality.

We have been visiting this restaurant for the past 15 years and it never fails to deliver. it is small in comparison to other similar style restaurants but this adds to the cosy feeling when you are seated.The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and they are vert attentive and will also have a laugh and joke along the way.The menu has not changed in a long time and whilst this may not work for many eateries, it certainly does here. I used to live near rusholme and thought that it did the best food. That was until we moved to prestwich and a neighbour recommended Mr Ali's to us. Whilst they do the 'usuals' they also do many other great dishes you don't find elsewhere. My favourite is the keema bagain - spicy mincemeat with aubergine.It's a tiny place with great customer service, it's been run by the same guy since we started going there 10 years ago and a lot of the staff are still the same too.Maybe this is why it's been consistently good food and service.

Typical "take away standard" Indian where historically the locals had their favourite dishes on the menu. Personally I don't care that "Dave the bricklayer likes this dish" as in my experience bricklayers are not aficionados of fine food. Avoid if you want a decent curry

Was recommended this restaurant by a local as we were staying in the area for a night. The inside is w little dates however the food is spot on! Don't know our servers name but he was fantastic, recommended food for each of us and my boyfriend even had a dish that wasn't on the menus. All had drinks starters and mains and wAs shocked by the bill. If worked our at 20 each and that included service charge. Gutted we are not local to the area as I would love to return

this has to be the best Indian restaurant in north Manchester I was here Thursday just gone with the family there was 4 of us and was very impressed by the service and food we received the staff are very accommodating and friendly nothing was to much trouble from the front of house staff and the kitchen staff I have visited Mr Ali's several times and keep returning as they make you feel very welcome and the food is well above standard in every way I have eaten at many Indian restaurants but this is by far the best authentic plaice to eat the kids are asking when can we go back im sure it wont be to long if your looking for high quality Indian food with a great service and a friendly team then pay this plaice a visit im sure you wont be disappointed and will make this a regular visit.

I went to the restaurant for a friends birthday party it was a party of 9. We have been frequent diners and use this restaurant for our staff parties. We had a nice time despite the delayed service but the night took the turn for the worst when it came to the bill. Our bill came to s total of £250. We all pooled in and left some tip as well. However we were approached by a gentleman (most likely the manager) and told that we have under paid. And insisted that we pay an additional £40. We had three individuals in our party who counted the money which is why we know we didn't leave it short. We were forced to pay that extra money. We went back and checked how much every person in the party had paid the next day and we were right all along. The restaurants response to this situation was not helpful they insisted that they were right and there was no way of checking. Needless to say we will not be returning as a company and would strongly advise against going there. I feel let down and ripped off.

We've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. I really recommend the methi and the keema rice.The bill is always less than anticipated, including drinks etc and the staff are so lovely. I quite like the decor, down to earth and unpretentious

I love this restaurant, I've not been for a quite a while now due to moving out of the area so what I tick in the "when did you visit" box won't be accurate, its a great place to go as a couple, with the kids or even as Billy no mates, they did a Goat curry that was out of this world, no fat, just lean meat, and extremely tasty sauce, but they stopped doing this which to me was catastrophic, that was a fairly long time ago so they may have brought it back by now, staff are attentive without being in your face, very friendly and polite, the atmosphere is always a happy one, they don't rush you to pay the bill and get gone when you've finished your meal, Mr Ali's cater for parties of any description, birthdays, anniversaries, you name it they will look after it, great food, great service, great prices, great everything, just bring back the Goat, pretty please.
