Hungamaa in Manchester

The food was delicious! We had the railway lamb, the Mysore masala dosa and the chicken 65. The ambience was lovely and very urban-Indian as well. They had excellent, fast service when we went. Absolutely loved it.

Really enjoyed our meal here, the staff were attentive and we really enjoyed every dish. Will definitely be back soon

Went a couple of Saturdays ago. My favourite Indian restaurant. The food is cooked to perfection and authentic. There are plenty of vegetarian options and street food. The masala dosas are fabulous. Excellent service and a cool vibe

Had a great experience.Paneer uthappam was nicely done .This restaurant is a much needed change in Warrington where Indian options are few.

Went for the Sunday buffet, barely any options for starters or mains, seekh kebabs were chewy with bland chicken tikka and biryani. Desserts included tiny brownies and scooping some half melted ice-cream from a plastic tub. Would not consider this a buffet, waste of money.

Good food... I'd very much recommend the railway lamb (as i would whenever you see that dish on the menu). The Gobi Manchurian is also good, alright I think I'd prefer it cooked to show it to have a bit more crunch. The service was almost over attentive... we were asked how are food was 8 times, and by 4 different people! The main server was really excellent and very friendly. A couple of negative points... 25% off was the January deal, yet it wasn't put through on the bill and I needed to ask for the bill again to show this. Also, they say it is BYOB but the corkage is quite high (£2 per bottle of beer and £5 for wine) so it isn't a great saving unless you're drinking decent wine with your Indian streetfood.

Food not great at all. Chicken was all the same type, just fried into some batter and couldn't even see chicken in there. Noodles were average, not great tasting at all.

Always delicious food with polite and attentive staff

Not sure why all the good reviews, unless I ordered on an off night but the prawn Korma we got was disgusting. Tasted cheesy like it had Parmesan in it and not curry like at all. Also tiny prawns for £4 extra which is a rip off. Garlic naan, poppadoms and rice were all good and onion Bhajis just okay but the curry is the main and was a huge let down, very disappointing overall.

We got there at 9.30pm it’s like they just gave us whatever bad food they had left. It was the worst mixed grill we’ve ever had. We complained and were ignored and handed our bill. Terrible food the best thing about the whole meal was the bottled water. Will not be coming back here again.

First time I have tried Hungamaa I got a takeaway and everything we bought was very good probably one of the best Indian takeaways I have had for a long time I will definitely be trying it again.

Service was great. Dishes are beautifully, freshly spiced. Thank you. The ambiance could be better, though this is not always in the manager’s or servers’ control. The restaurant is noisy. Our group of five were sat between the kitchen (quite noisy), under a speaker (music was pumped up) and near other diners who were there just to drink and shout instead of talking. They barely paid attention to their delicious food. Our group could hardly hear each other. We gave up trying to talk even though this was a special family occasion. Why do people have to be so inconsiderate? Only the British seem to have such bad manners, such immature attitudes to dining out. Recommend cutting out the cocktail offering and thinking about sound absorption along the walls.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant!!! ⭐️ From the moment we entered we were met with warm, friendly and genuine hospitality. Every single staff member we dealt with was so kind and made us feel right at home. ❤️ The place was busy and had a great atmosphere with some music playing at just the right volume (still able to have a clear conversation but loud enough to add a lively ambiance)! The drinks prices were super competitive and my partner and her sister said the Pinot Rosé was amazing. My Cobra was served ice cold and being under £5 was a pleasant surprise in today’s climate! Again the staff were super attentive and even poured the wine when serving. The food was absolutely outstanding, definitely the best of the cuisine I’ve had! The chicken lollipop starter (Indo/Chinese) was a particular stand out, getting the level of spice just right without being overwhelming, it was in-fact so nice that I spooned the entire garnish sauce up afterwards! We shared three curries for mains, the star of the show was definitely the butter chicken but the others we ordered were also out of this world with extremely tender meat and generous portion sizes. The rice and naan breads were super fresh and complimented everything perfectly. Oh and of course not forgetting the poppadoms and chutney tray which were so nice we ordered a second round! Definitely will be back, a pleasure to visit Hungamaa, I wish all of staff well and look forward to seeing them next time 🙏

food was tasty,however, the prawn biryani lacked prawns and the sauce that supposedly accompanied it didn't arrive until the dish was nearly gone.

I happened upon this gem of a restaurant by chance. The restaurant was very busy and I didn’t think I would be able to get a table as a walk in customer. The owner very graciously agreed to make room for me. I was unaccompanied but was certainly made to feel welcome. The waitress had an incredible smile and the friendliness of a true Gujarati. The menu was clear and concise with mouthwatering descriptions. I can honestly say that the food was the most delicious, authentic and wonderful visual treat for a guy who just happened to discover this delight. Thank you again Sir for a wonderful experience

The food was absolutely amazing! For starters, I had the pani puri and papdi chaat, and each bite was an explosion of vibrant flavors. For the mains, the desi lamb curry and chicken handi were rich, perfectly spiced, and paired beautifully with the garlic naan. The lamb naan kebab was tender and flavorful, while the sweet lassi added a refreshing, creamy finish to the meal. Truly a delightful experience!

Just got a take away from uber eats as there was a promotion on and it was some of the best food we have had from anywhere in a long time. Gobi manchurian and samosa chaat were particularly good. We will definitely be eating in at some point in the future

The Fish Amritsar was stunning. The Railway Lamb and Prawn Balcho finished us off with wonderful spicy flavours. It was busy but all the staff had time and consideration for us throughout. If you're having pops, they'll do lime (mixed pickle) if you ask nicely :-) Marvellous.

Ordered Dal Makhni and Karahi Paneer for the first time from them. It was amazing.. I Would definitely go to the restaurant now and would recommend others to visit!

We dropped in here for lunch today. The small starter plate menu was amazing and sooo tasty. Can’t wait to go back for a full evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend Gary and Helen Levenshulme

Now I’ve gone to a lot of Indian restaurants as it’s one of my favourite cuisine how ever I was extremely disappointed in how badly flavoured the food was at this restaurant the customer service was good I will give it that’s how ever the food tasted extremely awful it had me & my partner on the toilet for most of the night and I had a really bad tummy ache after also the price really was not worth it they asked if we would like poppadoms for the table normally when we go to an Indian cuisine they come as complimentary as they offered them to us we didn’t ask for them how ever on our bill not only did they charge us for them they also charged us separately for the sauces that came with them as well complete rip off! I most definitely will not be returning sorry. £77 1 mains and 1 starter not able to eat due to taste!

I don’t usually give reviews. I had maybe 2 or three orders from here and it was very nice. Last night i had a chicken biryani. Chicken was super dry/ old. I woke up today with a dodge stomach. Never ordering from here again

Bhuna was supposed to be medium! I picked out sliced red and green chillies (seeds in)! Never going to be medium ! It all tasted salty! The poppadams were nice with the dips.

Very nice curry house. I think it leans to south Indian cuisine. The railway lamb was lovely and is similar to an old school madras. The mixed grill was nice and excellent for sharing. Licensed with a Couple of beers on draught including a pale ale. Possibly able to bring your own too? Great service. 🍻 🍛

Tasty kulchas with yummy Methil chicken masala. Dinner sorted for the family 👪 Not only that, Hungamaa is perhaps the first Indian restaurant to embrace #BYOC (bring your own container) for takeaway. I'm sure other restaurants will follow as well 🙏😃 I'm definitely taking my own container (#BYOC) next time I order my takeaway. No more cheap single-use plastic containers!

I had the Sunday buffet twice now. As of April 2024, it cost £12.99 per head. For that price, there's a wide selection of dishes, all freshly cooked and as high quality as the a la carte version. Today, we had starters of grilled chicken wings, seekh kebab, Punjabi chickpeas, vegetable Manchurian and bratura bread (a puffed flat bread - super nice with the chickpeas). The mains were butter chicken, keema with peas (lamb mince), aloo gobi (potato & cauliflower) and dhal. Carbs were plain rice, vegetable fried rice and naan. There's also papadoms, dips and salad to accompany the food. Dessert was ice cream, chocolate brownie and the most amazing kheer (rice pudding - lightly spiced with cardamom, rosewater and topped with toasted nuts) This is super good value with every item being so absolutely delicious. I took a picture to show the variety available, and still not every item is shown. I'll keep returning for this amazing food!

It's not often I go to an Indian restaurant and think it is markedly different/better than other Indians I have been to. Hungamaa was most definitely the exception to this experience. We went on a quiet mid-week evening, all of the staff that served us were lovely and we felt very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we had was brilliant and I kept saying "I don't know the last time I had Indian food this good". Highly recommended.

We arrived here by chance and quite late but we seated and served no problem. The menu is excellent. Lots of unique and unknown dishes ( well, unknown to me at least anyway ). Choices were amazing, I wanted to order everything. That being said we did order too much. Excellent choice for meat eaters, veggies, and vegans. Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and patient as I'm sure we were holding them up from tidying up and leaving for the day. Thank you! Can't wait to come back.

The food is outstanding and the service is second to none, the staff are so friendly and really do go above and beyond. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for Indian food and would highly recommend!

Hungamaa catered at home for my 50th birthday party. They prepared wonderful fresh street food that went down really well with everyone. Everything from start to finish was amazing including choosing the menu to ordering in some last minute beers that I had forgotten to buy. Would definitely recommend they were all so nice to deal with

Great food, right from starters to dessert everything was awesome. We ordered soya chops, the texture was perfect and the taste was amazing. The chaats were brilliant and really reflected on what you would get from an authentic Indian street food vendor in India. The mains were a joy to eat. The curries and various different breads and rices were cooked properly and were of the premium quality. The desserts ( along with the mango lassi) were just the cherry on top. The Gulab Jamun was especially good. The Mango Lassi, while tasting good, was a piece of art! The designs on the top of it were simply extraordinary. Finally the service was unmatched by any other restaurant we have ever been to. The staff are super friendly and welcome you as soon as you step in.

I had a food poisoning in my last visit which is on 27th . It took me 2 days to get in to normal. I visited hungama a year back food quality was up to the mark so I re visited on 27th which is very disappointed 😢
