Great service and food for a great price

Outstanding Indian food, everything tastes unique is fresh and delicious! Went to collect this evening and we had a very friendly welcome from them too :) will definitely be back!

As a family we have been going to the Kismet since my mam was 21. We go here every birthday or special occasion. We love the family who run The Kismet. Love the food. 💚

As always Kismet produces an impeccable take away. The dhal Jalfrezi was super tasty and had a nice kick. Local family curry place at its finest.

Been going years, chicken shashlik is our go to, absolutely delicious. Can't beat this place for value.

One of the worst Indian takeaways I’ve ever had! How this place has got 4.8/5 star reviews I’ll never know. I don’t leave bad reviews unless I’m really unhappy with the food. I ordered a chicken chat starter which usually comes with a chapati. What I received was chat like no other I’ve had before. It was a very dark colour, similar to both the curries we ordered and it was swimming in oil! The chapati was nothing like a chapati. The only way I can describe the chapati was like it was made from the same dough as a sugar donut. It was very thick and really greasy. When you squeezed it there was a pool of grease around your fingers. I’ve attached pictures to this review. I ordered a seek kebab starter and that came swimming in grease as well. I couldn’t even try it as I was that put off! I ordered a chicken tikka dopiaza and a chicken tikka jalfrezi. Both curries again were swimming in oil, that’s much so that when we took the card lid off of the containers they had gone soft and flimsy and were dripping with oil. Both curries also looked and tasted exactly the same apart from one had green chillis in it. Ordered a garlic Nan which was extremely thick and doughy with zero taste of garlic. I love curry and was really excited to try this place as the reviews were glowing. I tried to eat the curry but I couldn’t stop thinking about how much oil there was and I couldn’t eat it. Everything ended up in the bin!

We moved away from the area 2 years ago and just had to go back just to get a fantastic meal again, long overdue. The best Indian takeaway in Manchester, trust me.

Without sounding like I'm goin over the top. This is probably the best indian takeaway on the planet, better than the ones in India. This place is that good they don't even deliver. You come to them, and you don't even mind. If it was a choice between any other Indian in Manchester, and having to walk here with no shoes on in the rain, I'd put my big coat on n go get my food with a smile. Been coming here for years and now even though we've moved miles away, (although we did try a few round here) were still driving down on a Friday.

Food is absolutely delicious. Meat is juicy moist and tender. People are lovely and polite also. Best Indian I’ve eaten in years. Tandoori mixed main and chicken chat are amazing. Thank you!

We have been going to the kismet for around 39 years, delicious food and lovely people.

Was recommended this place years back when a student living in Manchester and loved their curries. Lived in many other cities due to jobs but relocated to the North West about 15 years ago and was delighted to see my old haunt was still going strong and run by the same family who treated me like a log lost friend when I popped in for a take away. I've now got my OH and the kids to enjoy the delights of this gem of a take away. My personal favourite chicken madras and naan bread but we've not had a poor dish from there. My kids love the korma and tikka masala and we always try another dish as the OH doesn't have a particular favourite, as long as its curry from there he's happy. This place is a real treat for us, living 30 mins away we don't go weekly but it is the best Indian take away we've visited and our food is still piping hot when we get home so its well worth the trek. The owners are a lovely family and always make you feel welcome, their food is amazingly good I cannot rate them highly enough.

Just eaten the best kebabs ever ,so tasty & omg the smell was like being on holiday .Keep it up kismet in Cottingham.😋😋

Quite literally the best Indian takeaway in South Manchester. If you love tandoori, you'll love Kismet. I was recommended the restaurant by a friend, and would recommend this restaurant to all. Great value, great food and collection rather than just eat/deliveroo etc. You actually have to get out the house and collect the food. Lazier people might think it not convenient. I for one like this and for me... Its not a problem. A big 👍 from me😋😋😋😋

First time I had it from a recommendation. Curry was nice, everything else including mixes grill, lamb biriyani , nan was spot on . For the price this was an amazing Indian experience . Also the lady who served me was lovely 😁

Not bad. Cannot say good. If somebody tried same type kabab, they cannot say good. Nan is very big one is enough for 1 and half person or one person. No parking and no dining. Some de diahes tries also not bad but not very good. All I think average or juat above average.

Extremely nice and very good value for money (I usually get the set meal for two and that does 3 of us easily). Order is always ready for the time they say. I travel from Cheadle for collection it's that good. Highly recommended.

Firstly, very friendly service - cannot fault them on that! The best thing about Kismet is value for money. The set meal for 2 gives you an incredible amount of food for just over £15. However, as for the food itself I think it was average. The food was a little bit oily and the naan was burnt on the top and chewy in the middle. Some may like the gigantic seemingly deep fried samosas, but I thought it was too much. If you're hungry and want value for money, this is a solid choice, but - unless it was just an off day - don't expect the best quality.

Nos mudamos a una zona diferente del país durante unos años y nos decepcionamos constantemente con las decepcionantes comidas para llevar de los indios nadando en grasa y siempre hablábamos de cómo mataríamos por un kismet. Recientemente nos mudamos de regreso al área, a unos 20 minutos de Kismet y probamos algunos cercanos que entregan y nuevamente todos han sido deficientes. Así que esta noche decidimos conducir hasta Kismet y regresar, ya que el curry estaba en el menú de la noche de cine en casa. Guau, impresionado por la calidad y la consistencia que todavía hay después de 3 años y es seguro decir que valió la pena el viaje. Es genial ver a la familia todavía allí bien y sonriendo. Ese es un viaje que haremos cada vez que haya curry en el menú. Encantado de verlos a todos y por favor no se jubilen, nos veremos pronto; -)

Realmente solo puedo comentar sobre la comida, ya que era una comida para llevar. Mi pareja y yo hemos vivido en el sur de Manchester durante más de diez años y hemos tenido de todo, desde buenos a terribles en términos de comida para llevar al curry, pero este es el primer "excelente". No sé por qué tomó tanto tiempo probar Kismet, pero ahora que lo hemos hecho, ¡nunca iremos a otro lado! Simplemente sangrientos curry sabrosos obviamente hechos con cuidado. La parrilla mixta tandoori fue una de las mejores que he probado.

Visited here many times and we have ways had perfect takeaway dishes. Highly recommended indeed :)

Very nice food at a good price, friendly staff, food ready when they said it would be.

I do not usually leave reviews but I certainly think this place deserves more recognition due to the amazing experience I’ve had with them and the astounding quality of the food. I made a phone order on the 25th of September. I spoke to a very polite, well-spoken man who assured me the order will be ready within 25 minutes. He was also kind enough to correct my selection by telling me the starters already come with the mint yogurt and that I needn’t order any extra on the side. After 25 minutes I picked up the order. The place was not only clean but also felt very authentic. I briefly spoke to a lovely lady who brought my food out while it was still very warm and gave me free poppadoms too! Just as the weight of the bags suggested, the portion sizes were enormous (the samosa starter could be a main meal in itself!) and everything we ordered was there. The food tasted amazing and was very fresh. My dish (biryani) was as spicy as requested over the phone and my girlfriend was very pleased with her food also. Definitely the best Indian takeaway experience I’ve had and will certainly use again :)

Kismet is great i've been going there for years and they are the most affordable and tastiest place i've tried yet in Manchester. They do some good set meals and they have a rated 5 for hygiene which is always a bonus. They are not on the common delivery apps so I think they deserve a good rating on here.

Value for money and superb food on the main drag of burton road. I could not fault this place if I tried.

Has been my favourite takeaway for the 19 years I've been around and even before that my parents enjoyed it for longer. Now a uni student I've not found any takeaway more friendly and tasty and as soon as i come back for holidays i go here with my girlfriend for a takeaway we know will be of the best standard. Extremely tasty food and such good value for money. We had set veggie meal for 2 and was way more than we could eat, but so delicious. Friendly staff and gave us an extra dip for the poppadoms too which was bonus. Great place!

Came across this takeaway after living in West dids for 4 years. Good quality food, much nicer than some Indian restaurants and excellent value for money. Extremely clean and you can see the chefs cooking, would definitely recommend.

Mine and my husband's favourite curry house by a mile. Menu is extensive and food is hot, prompt and just gorgeous to eat! Staff are so lovely and helpful, really interact with our children and make them feel special. Sunday Buffet is a real bargain!
