Simply Veg catered our wedding last month and we couldn’t have been happier :) The food was delicious and more-ish as usual. There was plenty of it too! We used Simply Veg for catering for a small family event and everyone was delighted by the quality of the food. Having lived in India for several years we can confirm that this is Indian home-cooking of the highest standard. Everthing is freshly prepared with distinctive flavours. The menu comprises interesting dishes one normally doesn't find in Indian restaurants. Communication in preparing the event (while we were abroad) was incredibly easy and the suggestions for the choice of curries were extremely helpful. The service was very personal. The Mehta family are lovely to purchase from: very accomodating and helpful on what to order, quantities, etc. Having travelled around India I can honestly say their food is authentic and delicious. Love the condiments inc tamarind & date chutney. They are our go to take-away and we've used them for family celebrations & house parties. I highly recommend

Simply Veg is an truly a cut above. These are curries that any curry lover - meat eater or veggie - will love. The curry flavours are strong, distinctive and exciting, and the sides are the kind of street food bites you only wish you could get from the average curry house. These guys have got the humble bhaji down to an art, and the chutneys and sauces are ridiculously moreish. Honestly, I have no idea why people aren't raving about this place in the national press.

This is Indian home-cooking, all done by a couple in their own home kitchen. You ring in your order and they deliver it freshly-cooked. It's all vegetarian and mostly vegan, and every dish on the menu is clearly marked as vegan/dairy/allergens etc. Not standard Indian restaurant fare, but all sorts of interesting things that I had never tried before. We were spoilt for choice, and our selection included a banana curry and a spicy tomato dish topped with crispy chickpea noodles. More specialised dishes can be ordered a day in advance. They have special street-food days too. Service was very personal and helpful. We'll definitely go back for more. (by the way, it's take-away only)

After several recommendations from friends i ordered a few items from the regular menu with a view to ordering from the "to be ordered 24 hours in advance "next time depending on this first impression. i will be certainly ordering again and every dish was fantastic. the fenugreek chapati, spinach rice, aloo mattar and veg biryani also great. This is authentic Indian home cooked food and frankly i cant wait to try the specials and order from the "one day in advance" menu to really experience what they have to offer. Im annoyed i wasn't more adventurous on my first order but i think i may have found a new favourite. The whole payment, communication, delivery was perfect . what more can i say ?

We reached out and booked Simply Veg to cater for our wedding reception and we were so happy with our experience with them. From the beginning, communication was easy. We chose from a selection of delicious curries and sides. - the samosas were incredible - and the pricing for the quality and quantity of food was very reasonable. Simply Veg went above and beyond to make us feel special, creating a visual display on their screen for our celebration with some of our photos and kind words. All of our guests raved about the delicious food. Simply Veg even helped us to pack up all the leftovers which we had for lunch the following day. I would warmly recommend the vibrant Simply Veg food truck for any private event. Thanks again for helping to make our event such a success!

My husband and I got a wrap each from the van at the Cats Protection summer fate. One Tikka one Masala. Both were delicious and full of lovely fresh ingredients. Friendly service and quick considering how busy they were! Will definitely be my first choice if I see them at a future event!

Tucked away in the corner of the market this little gem is a great place for an inexpensive but wholesome lunch. Great Greek food and substantial sized plates. Certainly not to be missed if you're in the area at lunchtime.

The food was very average. Loads of bones in the fish curry. Fish and chips ok. Had to send back the burger because it was cold. Would not be rushing back. All in all quite disappointing.

We are such huge fans of the delicious food at Simply Veg and are regular take away customers, so when we started planning a party for my husbands 40th birthday we of course asked them to do the catering! Most Amazing Curry Ever, I had a pleasure of meeting the owners when doing construction works a their premises, since then I am dedicated customer as the food is mind blowing also the kitchen and premises are spotlessly clean. Honestly they are what all Indian takeaways should be!

This is a family favourite! It feels like you're being cooked for by friends – authentic, delicious and healthy dishes. We discovered Simply Veg a couple of years ago upon a personal recommendation. We love that the menu is entirely vegetarian/vegan – it removes any doubt about the integrity of the dishes. The service is faultless too. They deservedly have a loyal following of repeat customers.

We ordered dinner from Simply Veg tonight on a friend’s rave recommendation, and it did not disappoint! So often curry houses seem to slather the same heavy sauce on different proteins, but the four dishes we ordered from Simply Veg were each unique, and stood out in both complexity and flavour. We had Barthu, Chole, Mixed Veg, and Palak Paneer. Only problem is deciding which is my favourite. Guess we’ll have to order again. 😊

Just had the best Indian takeaway ever from Simply Veg! It was so tasty, spicy and fresh. As much as I love Indian curry’s, I don’t always enjoy the feeling after having eaten one as they’re often oily and I feel like I’ve eaten something unhealthy. But this was lovely and healthy!

We had a takeaway from Simply Veg which was easily one of the best Indian takeaways I've ever had! Everything was flavoured perfectly; there was a hint of spice in the dishes we chose which was balanced by fragrant Gujarati spices. Although everything is vegetarian, you don't feel like anything is missing; the dishes are still hearty and there are many options with paneer. Although this feels more wholesome than some Indian takeaways, we were still left full and satisfied with this as a Friday night treat! We'll definitely be ordering again, we were impressed with every dish we ordered — especially the aubergine curry and Patra!

This was THE best curry I've ever had, it was fresh, hot and beautifully flavoured. We asked for it not to be too spicy (you can tailor this when you order) and it was perfect, the flavours were still rich and complex, we were so impressed. We had all vegan options, the onion bhaji's were lush and the Tomato Sev was different to anything I've ever had before. You won't regret ordering from here, they're going to be our goto for curry from now on. Nowhere else compares.

I'm not really a fan of purely vegetarian food however I am a lover of Indian food (and self proclaimed expert on Indian food),I wanted to give this place a try.I wasn't disappointed, the food was fresh and tasty,delivered on time,nicely packed,steaming hot with no leakages. If they served meat then I would order regularly (although I understand they don't probably for religious reasons).

Highly recommended. The aubergine curry was smokey, pungent and rich. The deep fried paneer was excellent. We have just moved to the area and I am so glad there is a dedicated Indian vegetarian restaurant of this caliber.

Simply Veg is great. It's totally authentic Indian food and it's a few doors away from my house. They'll bend over backwards to make your food amazing and is so authentic a friend started eating it with his hands and kept telling us he'd not eaten anything like it since being in India. It's our go-to try and impress people with how cool Portslade is takeaway and it never fails to impress.

The staff is very friendly and the curries are delicious. We had the banana, chickpea and aubergine curry - all of them were rich in flavour and so different from each other in terms of taste. Not the same base like you sometimes get in Indian restaurants/takeaways. But if you do not like it too spicy, I would mention it when you order, the food is very hot. Good price, I liked it.

Tried this companies food out when attending the VegFest at the Brighton centre in February of this year and found that their food is so very good, fresh and tasty They advertised a 4 hygiene rating which they really need to put sine work in to bring up to a 5 as people look at these scores closely and shouldn't miss the food here just because of the scores If I lived nearer then would try further dishes from them Recommended - Enjoy Hopefully they will be at the VegFest again
