Indian Summer in Brighton and Hove

First time here and the service and food are amazing. Matt, our waiter, was really nice and we couldn't have had a better time. Try the cocktails and save a space for a dessert, they're delicious.

Food and service both top notch. This was our first visit since a not so great experience 8 years ago. Very pleased we gave it another chance.

We ate at Indian Summer last weekend and I can’t stop thinking about how good the food was! We had the sharing starters and the ribs which fell off the bone, 10/10! For main, the lamb curry with the lemon rice which complimented the curry so well. Service was excellent and I have to say the cocktails were unreal. I’m fussy about my spicy margaritas but these were such a treat. The food is so fresh and delicious you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu.

Excellent food. The thali was 10/10 and good value. Lovely staff and atmosphere. One of my new Brighton faves already. Thanks for a fab evening. A true hidden gem.

Ate here on Valentine’s Day so set menu only. Catered for meat and vegetarian with a tasty selection of small plates. The service was impeccable. Def recommend.

I came here tonight with my wife for Valentine’s Day. Pruthvi was incredible and served us immaculately. The food felt like summer, Indian summer… Riesling wine is fab and will flow you away. 10/10 cannot fault.

Came here for a really early supper pre the theatre. Food and service awesome. We had thalis (both meat and veggie) and dosas. Food tasted really authetic with a great mix of flavours. Only downside was being so full that I nearly fell asleep in the theatre. I haven't been here for a few years, but will be back regularly now. The menu feels much broader than it used to be and the beers were excellent too.

Really delicious meal! Had the ribs and samosas for starter - the ribs were so tender and delicious, and the sauce had a little kick to it, I'd recommend). Then the meat sharing thali, which had a nice selection or dishes to choose from. The masala chips were nice, but they were a little plain, could have a smidge more of the masala seasoning on.

What can I say other than indian summer saved my birthday, we were cancelled from another restaurant and they managed to get 16 of us within 2 hours....the food was awesome and all the staff are lovely 😍 thank you so much

The food was great with an array of amazing flavour in loads of different dishes, the service was great, with my main man George sorting out our every need. Explaining the food what it was made out of and making sure everyone was happy. They even bought put our birthday cake with candles and a great song

Amazing food, the meat Thali is so good! Poppadoms and chutney were so tasty too. Visiting from London and will definitely be coming back! George our waiter was lovely.

We’ve visited Indian summer many times but tonight’s meal was next level exceptional. The atmosphere, the service, incredible food and I was blown away by the Spicy margaritas 👌🏼. We shared the selection of starters and for main I had the butter chicken curry which was incredible. Everything is fresh and delicious with something for everyone. I recommend all my friends and clients visit this gem of a restaurant. We will be back very soon.

To the best Indian meal I had after 4 years being in the UK. Value for money. Tastes delicious. Portion sizes are generous. Service is fast. Will be visiting soon

This restaurant is so highly recommended. The food was exceptional. I have eaten in a Michelin star restaurant in London and I can safe to say this was actually better. The staff, the atmosphere and just everything generally was 5 star. Cant recommend it highly enough. We had dinner in a Friday night and loved it so much we took a take away home with us on the Sunday. We will be back

What a lovely place to have a causal Sunday diner. Restaurant is warm and vibrant. Atmosphere was very good. i think we were the only people not drinking cocktails. Food was great and service was fantastic. i have been a few times but not for over 5 years. i will be sure to not leave it that long again.

A really enjoyable gluten free meal, I can’t believe I was able to have a thali and the dosa was delicious! The manager came out to speak to us because we’d flagged we were coeliac on our booking and he mentioned he was coeliac too. He talked us really clearly through the menu and everything we ate was amazing, even the pickles with the popadoms. I’d go back anytime, but recommend booking as it was rammed all night ☺️ Also there’s four gluten free beers on the menu, which is unheard of!

Wonderful food, lots of vegan options, attentive, friendly staff, clean toilets. Cost was £35 per person including a non-alcoholic drink. Left feeling fully satiated and without leftovers.

Food was really good, meat in the curry was really tender. Would definitely recommend getting the mango brûlée for dessert, it was amazing!! Staff really lovely too.

Fantastic place for a big group, lots of happy people with Thalis. I had the Dal Makhani and Garlic Naan which were generous portions and absolutely delicious.

What a lovely restaurant and I give it 10 out of 10 for service, atmosphere and food. Vegetarian Thali was excellent and lassi a must. We finished off with cheesecake. As a visitor to Brighton, this lovely restaurant will be our first choice. Thank you so much for a lovely experience 😀

This restaurant is a veritable gem. I visited in the company of a dear friend, who holds Indian cuisine in the highest regard. She proclaimed that every dish we ordered was most exquisite. Sadly, I neglected to capture any photographs of the dishes. The food was fresh and of impeccable quality. I derived immense pleasure from the dinner.

Fantastic restaurant, have been a few times and can't wait to go back! I went for the first time with my partner, then brought my best friend to try, and then another! Vibrant decor in a light and colourful room. Efficient and friendly service. Food was tasty and atmosphere was buzzing. We would definitely visit again.

Plenty of room when we arrived just after 6pm midweek but restaurant filled up quickly. The gentleman who served us explained the menu including that default serving was medium but we could request mild or hot as needed. We had poppadoms to start with a selection of sauces, particularly enjoying the tamarind sauce. Mains were a meat thali, so many delicious choices, really enjoyable. My partners chicken biryani was well cooked, not the traditional version of chicken rice with vegetable curry we are used to at home and hotter than he'd like, even with yoghurt so we were both relieved we had requested mild food. We'd eat here again if we return to Brighton but ask for extra mild food because chef is heavier on the spice than our local I fian restaurants.

Greeted at door & offered choice of table by Des. Whole restaurant atmosphere was buzzing (even at 5pm). Had few questions bout menu & spice/heat intensity of dishes which were answered perfectly & we ordered. Food came in perfect amount of wait time & wow....beautifully presented & delicious. We like to eat from hot plates. Restaurant plates are stainless steel & cold bt Des went & got us 2 traditional plates that he had warmed...cant get better service than that! Whole experience excellent & will def return. Highly recommend.

This is the place to go for a curry. Authentic Indian with really friendly staff and a vibe where everyone isn't afraid to talk to everyone else. I don't often give 5 out of 5, but this place just blew me away... 6/5

This place was a revelation in Indian food for me. I had a platter to try a few dishes and every one was great. All very differently flavoured and delicious. The lamb was the softest I’ve experienced, the chicken was perfectly tender. I had a wonderful Indian cocktail too. The ‘junk food’ chips and cauliflower bhaji were also brilliant. I liked the modern feel to the restaurant with a mix of classic Indian styling. The custom artwork on the tables and walls is also worth noting. A restaurant I will visit again.

Had masala dosa. It tasted made with instant Git’s Mix. Chutney was awful. Sambar and masala was good. It was a small size. The chef needs to go to a real South Indian restaurant like Sarvanna Bhavan to taste a real Dosa. The restaurant is nicely decorated and service was fine. The English music was good. The plate is small so Dosa looks good. I saw guests next to me eating Veg Thali. That looked better.

Wasn’t particularly hopeful of good food when Sharwood’s poppadoms were bought to the table. Four poppadoms and chutneys for over £5 is taking the p anyway but to serve shop bought ones is not on. No excuses. The meat thali was very tasty but the roti was incredibly oily. Not bad value at £22 for the thali though.

Awful experience. Some guy at the front more worried about his hair than greeting us. Tried to sneak poppadoms on us for extra money and the Australian lady tried to upsell us repeatedly. Was looking for something authentic… weird decor too… food just ok but absolutely nothing special. The guy at the front all he did was talk rubbish about the chavs that wanted a tikka masala so loud you could hear him. Very offputting.

Excellent service with a lovely vibrant atmosphere! Food was delicious, I ordered a Thali with various authentic curries, all of which I loved. The papadum and pickle starter was also great, lots of chutneys were included, my favourite being the tamarind and date. All round a wonderful experience and great value for money with the quality of food and service. I’ll definitely be returning!

This place is amazing. I got a takeaway from here last night.... it's the closes thing to having restaurant quality food in your own home. The ribs... the meat just falls off the bone. Incredible. I had leftovers for lunch today: delicious, not oily or greasy, just absolutely delicious.

The best place I Come here every time I come to visit my grandma . The staff are so attentive and friendly expecislly the ones working Friday the 11th !! the food is so delicious I had meat tahli my dad had the grand tahli and my grandma had the vegetable tahli. I ate every little bit it was so amazing ! The flavours were just so good . For dessert I got mango mojito sorbet and I wasn’t at the table when it arrived , as soon as I got back my server came to pour my Prosecco onto the sorbet so attentive ! I have no bad words about this place I come every time and have never had a bad experience! The toilets were so lovely and clean I didn’t want to leave 😂. I can’t wait to come back next time !! I left a review on Tripadvisor as well this place is too good it needs all the reviews it can get 😁😁😁

We both had veggie Thalis. At least 6 different flavoured and textured dishes - with stunning rice and a roti - all for £20 each, plus 3 hand made pickles with the poppadoms. The thali dishes were all unique and the symbiotic flavours bathing each ingredient displayed knowledge and artistry. This is only possible in an independent restaurant - they are rarer and rarer, ones like this.

I came to dinner here with my husband a couple of evenings ago. Would definitely recommend! The food was great and our waitress, Jess, was very knowledgeable.
