Amazing homemade food, absolutely delicious! Had a takeaway for two, brilliant portions and very reasonably priced. A new favourite find in Kemptown! Looking forward to going in for a coffee during the day time too ☺️

Amazing food always feel as though I've eaten something healthy and nutritional. My daughter loves it too which is saying something. The food is made with love the owners are a delight I can't rate this family run business enough if I could give it ten stars I would. Keep up the Amazing work guys

Story time: I discovered this restaurant as I was walking past it to go to a bakery for a particular pastry I wanted to try as a birthday treat to myself. The bakery didn't have what I wanted, so I decided to walk down to the pier & enjoy the sound of the waves. Then I started to get hungry & remembered I had walked past Nanima. I circled back to the restaurant & was met by a friendly man who explained how there's no set menu & the dishes change daily. That particular day, I decided to go for some coconut rice, chickpea curry, a paneer spinach pastry & a chai latte. With some friendly small talk, the man discovered it was my birthday & proceeded to celebrate me by singing happy birthday & clanging some cymbals haha! Then he kindly gave me the chai latte on the house. How lovely! I got the order to go & didn't bother to get the food heated as I planned to continue walking around a bit before heading to my accommodation. From the time I bought the food to actually eating it was probably around 3-4 hours. I heated everything up in the microwave and OMG! My whole room smelt DIVINE from the food. The beautiful scent wasn't just a fluke because everything tasted equally as divine! How does 4 hours out of fridge food heated in the dodgy glamping pod microwave taste so good?! I happily consumed the bundle of joy on my plate whilst watching a Christmas movie & declared the day a wonderful birthday! - End of story time - If you successfully got to the end of this review, just stop what you're doing & head to Nanima for a delightful meal, hurry, RUN, why make your tastebuds live another second without the taste of Nanima on it?! Go! And enjoy!

My daughter and I had a delicious lunch here yesterday. Very excited to find you by chance and we will definitely be back. We had some very tasty and interesting dishes (they do meat dishes as well), served quickly and with super friendly service.

Amazing chai, loved the food. Really fast service

The food is good, wide choice. Well cooked and delicious. As well as healthy. The front of house poor. The man has poor customer skills, his negative energy really dominates. He did not make us feel welcome. The door was left open even though we were cold. He required us to huddle into a corner by the door, because it would get ‘very busy’- no one came in. The woman serving did her best, but it didn’t feel like a happy relaxed workplace. Spent almost £50 on 3 people’s lunch and had to leave quickly because we did not feel warm and welcome. Will not be going back.

We used Nanima to cater for a small corporate meeting . The food was delicious and plentiful , and Nicky and Lonnie a pleasure to work with - accommodating to our requests and very flexible. I would recommend to anyone looking for catering in the area.

Popped in for dinner and had a lovely selection of the dishes which provided my tastebuds with a whirlwind tour of Asia. The madras omelette pancakes were dynamite and the warm, friendly, family welcome ensures you are well looked after! Thank you and I’ll certainly visit again

Experiencing exquisite worldwide cuisine in one place! Every day is like visiting a different country. They also serve very good vegeterian dishes.

Can’t stop coming back to this place. Run by a lovely couple who are incredibly welcoming and offer impeccable service but incredibly personable and feel like old friends already! I am addicted to the Chinese/asian chicken broth soup which is heart warming and perfect for the cold winter days of late. Yesterday I also chose a keema pastry that is knock out good. As a bonus i bought a jar of their home made Archaar which is stunning. Highly recommend!

Con una recomendación frente al servicio de la casa, ya que estoy abierto a algunos nuevos gustos del este de la India, Chai era la opción que se ofrece. ¡Y qué regalo de cumpleaños fue! Ambiente relajante y música muy tranquila para tomar su bebida caliente, le recomiendo encarecidamente entrar y mejorar un lugar tan local y único para comer y beber.

Popped in for a takeaway and the selection on offer all looked delicious and fresh. I ended up having the shakshouka with coconut rice. It was really tasty and reasonably priced. I will definitely return to try other dishes. Thanks also for the great service.

This was one of the best meals I've had in Brighton, well worth a visit if you are kemp town way! Really friendly service, fresh food, and everything tasted so good that we ended up eating everything when we were planning and having half later :)) 10% for NHS as well was a really nice touch!

My Brighton bestie has been really positive about this restaurant for years now, and today I finally ate here. I was not disappointed!!! The food was amazing; good portions, subtle and clever flavours and so fresh & wholesome. I LOVE Nanima's food so much!!! I had tarka dahl soup plus a side of coconut rice, great combination and super satiating. I also tried a wonderful vegetarian pastry filled with potato and veg and spices, topped with cheese (I think). It reminded me of masala dosa but better!

A little Kemptown gem 💎 ✨️ colorful and rich with flavors. Service is always super kind, you'll get a warm welcome and a peak view of the sea outside. Go in for a cup of authentic chai and a homade pastry and listen to an awsome soundtrack curated by the owners. And/or hop in for a lovely hot plate full of delicious goodies with a drink 🍸 for lunch or dinner. Come rain, come shine, always a favorite ♥️

Great ambiance and the service was really good and friendly. Unfortunately the food was kind of bland, underwhelming and very expensive for what was essentially canteen style food.

Absolute gem. If you’re holidaying in Kemptown this amazing Asian kitchen makes a wonderful stop off for lunch. We were a large family group and the restaurant were so accommodating they prepared the most amazing take away which was wonderfully cooked and bursted with flavour. Thank you Lonnie and Nicky!

We love Nanima and it was our top choice for a celebration meal. Our three courses and drinks were fabulous. We enjoyed a culinary adventure with delicious dishes and drinks from countries that included Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, China and India. A perfect celebration in a comfortable and welcoming restaurant.

Went in randomly to get a coffee flat white and croissant, long story short, flat white delivered in a latte size cup (red flag) and the milk had been boiled to lava level and burn my tongue for 2 days and the croissant while was warm not asked for was floppy as if microwaved 🤣 what!! So I returned the coffee for NO credit or new one as it's easier to never go again worst experience in years, they should stick to the indian buffet as the skill for coffee is just not there

Really exceeded expectations. The passion of the staff is evident, which comes through in the consideration of the menu and the food itself. The owner took the time to go through the menu and process, explaining how his wife cooks from scratch and with love, and you can feel it and taste it. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

I highly recommend dining at this warm and welcoming family-run restaurant. I visited for the first time today with my family and as we don't live far, we will definitely be returning to try their varied offerings. The dishes we had today were very tasty and made with fresh, wholesome ingredients. There were meat and non-meat options, rice, noodles, soups, dhal, all of which we love. A lovely selection of cakes and pastries too. We're excited to have found this little gem in Brighton.

Brilliant food, poor service and environment. I went twice; the second time I was very happy to show this place to my vegetarian friends. But the experience was terrible. The owner was fighting with his wife, their shouts were so loud that even the music did not cover them. I never came back again.

First time visiting and definitely won’t be my last! The food was absolutely divine and the staff were so welcoming and friendly! The coffee was to die for and the wine paired with my salmon dish was perfect! Homemade dishes that you know have been made by someone with a lot of love and passion in what they do! Great for a light bite or a full meal with a wine! Love how you can choose whether you fancy a tapas version or a full meal! Next time I will be trying the beers too!! Fantastic evening and highly recommend!

Awesome food. Everything on offer looked delicious and we tried about five dishes in total. Super helpful people work there and they'll talk you through all the options. Great drink options - really enjoyed the juices, will come back for the tea spritz! Will return, highly recommend.

Great Twist of a Menu. There isnt one. You choose from the freshly prepared dishes on offer, which change daily. You can choose to eat in or take out. Friendly servers who are actually the owners. They will talk you through the dishes so you can decide what to have. Very reasonably priced. No need to book

What an absolute find! Took my 12 year old daughter and six of besties to lunch here as part of her birthday celebrations. The food was delicious and the girls all ate incredibly well. Real food that was full of flavour. They all had bubble tea too. Win. I had the best chai I've had in Brighton (and I've lived here for 20 years!) and a gorgeous lunch. We were so well looked after, the whole experience felt relaxed and really warm. I'll be back with my hubby, then my Mum and then my Brighton bestie!

Went for the second time today. The idea was breakfast as we were not so hungry, but the food was smelling so good that we had to try one of the main lunch meals. We chose an omelette that was perfectly cooked with the right amount of flavours. The croissant was fresh, and the orange juice, freshly pressed, was perfect as well. I know it sounds weird that someone is rating the orange juice, but try it and you'll get it. The orange cake was a nice surprise. Still warm, fluffy with the right amount of chocolate, a perfect little treat with coffee. The atmosphere is amazing. If you're looking for a calm place to lunch, that's it. Disability friendly? Yes, ground floor, no steps and comfortable seats. I suppose it can accommodate a wheelchair if needed as ot have space for that. Level of sound noise could be a thing if too crowded, otherwise it's noise safe. Dog friendly? Yes! There are seats outside and seats inside. Plus: they have bubble tea (take away as well). And it's very good.

Very disappointed by the high cost and rather bland food. It seemed fresh well the hair in my food did anyway. I certainly didn't feel I could mention it because the man running the restaurant seemed rather passive aggressive. I will not be going back or recommending the experience to friends.

Have walked past here for years (!) and never gone in, which was foolish because it was totally delicious. Felt so comfortable, and had the most amazing food - so good we stayed for seconds. Definitely making a second trip back for Saturday Laksa!

I have never felt more at home after eating the food here..I ordered the singapore chicken with noodles and the moment i had a spoonful i was delighted!!It was so fresh and filling and with the right portion!The owners were so warm and friendly which made it more enjoyable.Nanima is definitely on my top places to eat in Brighton.I highly recommend it.

Stumbled across this gem of a find today and so glad we did. Stopped in for a late lunch, we shared a keema pastry, I had the minted lamb kebabs and my partner had the salmon. Everything was delicious with lots of taste explosions. It’s a lovely cafe and daily fresh dishes which change everyday. Lonnie was delightful to meet and explained all the mouth watering dishes and his amazing and talented wife Nikki cooked all the dishes. We’ll definitely be back

I ordered 15 dishes from Nanima for a team of colleagues who have variety of dietary requirements. Every need was catered for, with all of the meals being super duper delicious! I now pop by when I fancy treating myself to a healthy Asian meal from thr best restaurant Brighton has to offer!

Could not recommend this more highly. We yumed our way through every mouthful. The aromatic, perfectly-balanced food was matched by the friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic service, and a genuine feel that Nanima is happiest when you are happy, relaxed and well-fed. A home from home cafe-style atmosphere that instantly relaxes, and a daily changing menu, that all 4 of us, kids included, found a delicious dinner from. Fabulous.

We were on our way home from the hospital and wanted a healthy dinner to bring back. Nanima was an excellent choice. Fresh food, reasonably priced and with generous portions. Most importantly, the meals seem like they were made with a lot of care (egg and potato curry was a delicious discovery!). It was also a pleasure chatting to the two lovely owners as well. And it's one of the few places in East Sussex that serves an actual homemade lemonade. We will be back! :)

We discovered Nanima in March and loved it. The food and drink are exciting, authentic, super fresh and delicious. There is no set menu so you try something new each time - a great idea! The staff are welcoming and passionate about food. The place has a relaxed vibe and you can see all the customers are having a good time. This time we took visiting friends and began with Singaporean Laksa. It came with silken tofu, chicken or seafood. And we followed it up with up with spiced chai and a selection of cakes. Popped in mid afternoon on the off chance on a Friday, receiving a very pleasant welcome from the host who explained the choice on offer, the variety and the way they work. We enjoyed a lovely cold soup followed by salmon, noodles and a mushroom dish; fantastic flavours and the ambience is cosy and comfortable..

This is an unassuming gem of a restaurant that serves inventive fresh Asian specialities. The service was first-rate with a really attentive and friendly server who explained all the options with detail and pride. We’ll definitely be back!

The restaurant serves fantastic Asian food—the chicken leg is incredibly juicy, paired perfectly with delicious fried noodles and delightful tea. The owner is exceptionally friendly, taking the time to introduce fresh menu items. I visited Brighton for a football match, and even as a home fan, he made me feel incredibly welcome. We've been here twice now but the first time we only had pure (actual tea), gorgeous bubble tea and a really good coffee. Today we luckily secured a table in the comfortably full restaurant and tried the food. There wasn't anything on the menu I wouldn't have been happy with! The food (see picture) and service was outstanding and we'll definitely be back. A credit to the (already great) area 👍

Absolute gem of a find! Superb food, all so healthy, freshly made and unbelievably tasty. Fantastic service and great atmosphere. We were so lucky to get a table, it was packed minutes after we've arrived. Strongly recommend booking the table. Parking is available on the roads around. Thank you so much 👍😊

1 tbsp of curry.. (with plain rice, lettuce and vegetables) £9.50 with an NHS discount. I find it fascinating that a place that is decorated the way it is and sells expensive stuff feels the need to be that unbelievably stingy. I am just imagining the lady who served me very carefully only putting 1 tbsp of curry into my lunch box, under strict instructions, or possibly out of fear of being punished for the minimal margins lost for providing a substantial meal. I am angry, but also laughing at just how pathetic this is 🤣

We hosted a queer affirming iftar here, and the restaurant not only created a safe space but was able to prepare dishes to our specifications. The food was delicious, well presented, and with a comforting homemade taste. The other options on display looked amazing, and we can't wait to try them. We will definitely consider hosting another event here! 😀

We visited Nanima Asian Kitchen for the first time on Friday and we will definitely be going back. There was a selection of non veggie and veggie options and we both went with Malaysian chicken curry with dhal and coconut rice/noodles. It was full of flavour, beautifully cooked and we had home made samosas on the side. To drink we had Singha beer and a home made apple and cinnamon juice. It’s a family run place and we were made to feel very welcome.

We went to Nanima Asian kitchen cafe today and must say the food is delicious and they are lovely. However, the portion size and price do not match. We tend to eat modest portions but even for us a main for £15-16 in a tiny bowl (which was 80%rice and 20% potato and chickpeas) is insufficient and unfair - especially when you can only eat out rarely! Sadly won't go back even if we liked the taste of the food. Thanks. Seda

The food at Nanima's is fantastic and Lonnie and Nicky are awesome. We liked the food so much we asked them to cater a 100 person two-day event in Brighton and the food went down a storm. If you love fresh but hearty curry and noodle dishes then book them for your next event!

When we visited Brighton, we had a wonderful lunch at Nanima's. It was the kind of food your friend's grandmother treats you to, too, with her traditional recipe. Great homey flavours from someone who understands the subtly that species transforming everyday ingredients. It was all very good, and we all felt grateful we were in the hands of someone who really cared about excellent food.

They don't shut early, so you can go after work and buy food (if still available as it usually sells out fast). They have an amazing selection of pastries too. A gorgeous warm welcome, lovely and unusual range of veg and non-veg food, all home cooked with love. Tasty and well-priced, some new flavours to boot. We felt as though it was a cosy night with a new family. Highly recommend.
