Delicious! My friend and I ordered the "two half curry" deal - I got the mild vegetable korma and the black chick pea curry (labelled as very very spicy. If you can eat Samyang Korean Noodles this is less spicy than that). My friend ordered the Mombai potato curry and the spinach and paneer curry. It was all very tasty and great portion sizes. Would visit again!

Great to experience an Indian restaurant that has a unique style of food, different from most UK Indian menus. Very interesting and tasty starters, followed by a great selection of plant or dairy based main courses. The half&half is best choice. Good beer and friendly service. I will be back!

A must visit for anyone who wants to try authentic Indian food! The interior is very cosy and I really enjoyed it, it's different from what you'd expect. The reggae music wasn't what I expected but it added to the vibe. I've always wanted to try Pani Puri and I'm so glad I did, it really is an explosion in your mouth. Great to share with friends. I also had the aubergine curry and it was just so lovely, I would love to go again and try more. The flavours were exquisite and genuinely fun to try. The menu is also well written with jokes and that added a little personality to this quirky restaurant. 10/10

We took all our brothers and sisters to Planet India and had an absolute ball inspired by beautiful food, and even more beautiful waiting staff. The owner made us really feel like honoured guests. We were immersed in the charm of authentic India and the eccentricity of Brighton. The entire evening has left us with a memory we’ll never forget. The food was perfectly spiced, deeply flavourful and totally authentic. A number of us have travelled to India so we can testify to that. The highlight for me was the perfectly cooked rice, the spinach and paneer curry, and about the best chapati that I’ve ever eaten. My brother John, ex chef for 30 years and who has travelled to India extensively said this was the best curry he’s eaten - ever. I want to thank Planet India personally for treating my family with such respect. Just go or you’ll miss out, what more can I say. Thank you.

Excellent food. The flavours are delicious. The food isn’t too oily. Quirky interior decor, 70s feel - but not kitsch. Quite an unique place. Service is good. This seems a popular place and I can see why. The dishes are generously portioned. The wait for the food was a little long, but not so long as to bring the overall score down. A fairly solid 5 stars. Overall, well worth it - also fairly reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

We were warned, both on the menu and by the waiter, that the Black Chick Pea curry was spicy. It was but in a good way! But as suggested, paired with the creamy aubergine curry it worked really well. We also had a mansoor dall curry with the spinach and paneer curry. By offering two half curries you get the chance to try different options and mix the flavours. We started with poppadums and Pani Puri. I had a sweet lassi and my husband had the salty one - both were delicious. A wonderful meal, great service and amazing price

Planet India, Brighton, UK, Earth, 10ish Years Later... A long-dreamed-of reunion. The dish to eat every day forever. The desert island dinner. Fresh coriander, tamarind sauce, crunchy stuff. Sweet holy Jebus and the devil's own never-you-mind, it even has plump bright pomegranite seeds. Crash, bang and wallop. Good old Nilish. Still grinning, but now with shoes on (...seemed rude to ask if this was the new norm, sorry if it is to say so now, but largely irrelevant really anyway). Still the purveyor of the finest bhel puri this side of Fiji and indeed the easternmost island of Caroline, Kiribati. Still vibing that relaxing reggae ambience. So what's new? That siren of the tastebuds, the tamarind sauce has gotten (excuse the US slang) sweeter and greater in ml (unless my tongue or memory deceive me). We shoulda oughta 'ordered sooner one of the 4 or so comic varieties of cumin rice from the snazzily jazzed-up, humorously phrased menu (the +2p version is money well spent) to quell the delicious tang a def-con or so. There's loads we didn't try, but the pani puri has the best crispy basket and liquid components of any I've previously tried. Those little cake pieces (khaman dhokla) are so fluffy and light, and accompanied by so delicious a somewhat hotter, smokier sauce, I almost heard the Lark Ascending anew. Slosh over a load of exquisite choice lagers and, hey presto, your salivary glands are involuntarily squirting like billy-o in a steam driven piston engine. F%£^ing bravo! 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🫶🫶🫶

This cozy restaurant has left a good impression on me. The hosts are hospitable and the dishes are tasty. Unfortunately there aren't many options to pick from, but that wasn't a big issue. Wasn’t particularly hopeful of good food when Sharwood’s poppadoms were bought to the table. Four poppadoms and chutneys for over £5 is taking the p anyway but to serve shop bought ones is not on. No excuses. The meat thali was very tasty but the roti was incredibly oily. Not bad value at £22 for the thali though.

I've been using this take away for about 5 years now but feel compelled to leave a review. This is one of the best curry takeaways in my area (Fiveways, Brighton) however the prices are rising, portions getting smaller with barely enough meat for a child let alone a hungry adult, the sag aloo (spinach and potato) barely half filled the small tin foil tray and they have started charging for minor substitutions even though the items swapped are the same price EG asking for a naan instead or rice (both £3). They charge £1 extra per swap The bags of salad and onion are much smaller now and they are charging for chutneys / mint sauce which used to be FOC. So in short it's just not worth the £££.
